Hiya mammy.

Yeh i asked the MV at hospital about taking ibuprofen, she said no straightaway then went off to check and came back and said fine, seeing as though you can be given voltarol too??

Good to hear it improved after kiddies though? I would say that mine is pretty much the same and still get the same mood swings. I saw a counsellor about this once and she told me the only to combat this was to eat biscuits - right?

Pinions · 05/07/2007 10:03

Hiya pesha.

octo · 05/07/2007 10:03

Well - think have ovulated two days before holiday but no period - still bf - if you are drinking tea/coffee - swallow it now btw - had sex on holiday with no contraception (withdrawal ) and now completely cacking myself....have had different discharge since then ... Am going to do a pg test in two weeks ... holy shit bugger and fuck.

pinions - though was getting period but nope. i am exclusively bf and up through te night so hoing not

maveta - we do have aroutine. 6.45 - massage, then bath into sleep suit and sleeping bag, then read a story, then into our room to lie her on the bed and have a quiet talk through the day, into her nest with lullabies on and she is alseep by 8.30. i am actually loving this part of the day - cause all 3 of us are together and it feels liek proper family time! i thinki need to have her in a routine as he r dad has just gone back to nursing and works shifts. this way he knows that when he gets home at night - what he needs to do etc.

back later xoxo

mammyjo · 05/07/2007 10:28

Eat biscuits? Best excuse I have heard in a while!

Morning WO!

Octo, you poor thing. As if life isnt stressful enough without having to wait two weeks to find out one way or the other eh?! Def not pg here unless I have managed a sperm free conception!

Pinions · 05/07/2007 11:02

I want thomas on the computer 3yr olds - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah......

liath · 05/07/2007 11:06

Eek, Octo!!!

No bedtime routine here & co-sleeping. Some nights ds goes to sleep at 7pm then the next he'll cluster feed till 10pm. Have loads on this month, lots of travelling around staying with people so will put off trying to get him into a routine and his own cot until we're more settled.

runnyhabbit · 05/07/2007 11:25

Morning all

Can someone please explain why W was wide awake at 2am this morning - not really hungry - just wanted to chat and smile. Yet has slept from 8.30 this morning, and is still sleeping?

W has started "fussing" (hands and legs going everywhere) a lot when he's fed, and never seems contented after a feed. Its only happened over the past week. His hand is in his mouth constantly when he's awake, with lots of dribble. Is anyone elses lo doing this?

mammyjo have emailed you about meeting up. And W was going from about 10 til 5.30/6, but the past week, he's been waking up a lot in the nights. I'm thinking he's going through a growth spurt. He has his 2nd jabs today, so it'll be interesting to see what he weighs.

octo at having to do a pregnancy test.

as for routines - if I'm on my own, then its generally W in bath first, with J "helping" me. J gets in the bath so the 2 of them have some play time together (both of them love this!) W gets out, dried, and I feed him from one boob sitting on the bathroom floor. J gets out of bath, dried and dressed, into bed, and then feed W from the other boob while I feed them a story. If W is very sleepy, then I'll put him in his cot in our bedroom, but if he's still abit wakey, then he comes back down stairs with me, and lays on his bean bag til either he falls asleep, or, til I go to bed.
If dh does bathtimes - there is no routine lol

Pesha · 05/07/2007 11:26

Octo That'll teach you to have S.E.X.! Fingers crossed for you.

A friend of mine has just found out she is pg with no 7 She's abit torn about how she feels really - had been talking to me about it just the other day cos her dh is only the dad to the youngest 2 and really wants more and does loads for kids and she said she didnt really want more but felt like she should for him. Although I think she's one of these people who is permanently slightly broody and never quite sure when to stop! Which i think is what im like - with my head i dont want anymore. at all. ever! BUT to think about never doing it again feels really sad.

Dr was really nice and has referred me for physio - said to bend to side and asked if it hurt i said well not my by ribs but my back does!! She thinks all women should have post natal physio. And couldnt find anything wrong with D but has given me a bottle and said if his temp continues to catch some wee in it and they'll check that as he has no other symptoms. But is prob just fighting something off so slight temp but not actually ill.

Pesha · 05/07/2007 11:36

The hand in mouth and dribbling sounds like teething, their teeth can move around in their gums before actually coming through, often starts around 3 months. So the fussing around could just be cos W is unhappy with teeth hurting?

Liath - made cake last night and dp doesnt like it (didnt think he would cos he doesnt like marmalade!) so I've been eating it all myself!! Its sooo easy to make - does anyone have any other cake recipes wehere its just shove it all in without having to cream/beat stuff and get the mixer out? Cos i dont really have time for all that malarkey at the moment.

runnyhabbit · 05/07/2007 12:00

Hi Pesha

Now you've said it, J was exactly the same when he started teething. And he cut his first tooth at 15/16 wks. So with W being 12wks, its not impossible for him to have sore gums now.

oohh - was talking to mw the other day, having a general chat, and telling her how dh thinks I am a one woman marketing machine for homebirths She asked me if I would mind talking about my homebirth experience at their antenatal classes! She said nothing beats hearing about homebirth from someone who's had one! Wonder how many I'll convert?

oooggs · 05/07/2007 12:05

hi all - dh currently in exam - hurrah
thankyou for introducing me to msn - its great

hope all ok octo - good luck and hope you get the outcome you want

Erin chews her hands like teething

AngeG · 05/07/2007 12:10

Morning all

Just tried to catch up

Octo Hope it all works out for the best for you.

Can't remember who asked but yes I think I've had my period...in fact I've bled weekly or two weekly since about 6weeks...not sure what is going on...seems to me every time I fancy sex I bleed

Going to have a follow up colposcopy on Friday because I had some cin3 cells removed the month before I conceived Izzy...bit worried there may be more problems as I bled irratically before they were picked up Just have to see what they say I guess.

Joma - Hope interview thing went ok.

can't remember anything crappy seive brain xx

Katy44 · 05/07/2007 12:29

hi everyone
octo hope everything is ok
xx

mammyjo · 05/07/2007 13:04

Ange, hope everything goes ok on Friday for you. Fingers crossed that its nothing to worry about xxx

Runny, will text you when I find my bloody phone. I think ds must have put it somewhere "safe" for me this morning!!

Pinions · 05/07/2007 13:26

Runny - t has hand in the mouth ALL the time, only started to do it in the last week or so?

I thought that it meant he was hungry all the time when he first did it, but he stll does it just after a big feed, maybe its just a comfort thing, like trying to suck the thumb?

Pesha - No 7. flippin heck, though having said that my mum is one of 8, the good old days? I don't know how people cope with that many, but each to their own?

"Lady across the road" has got 6 and thinking about no 7, having said that they are mormons and do not believe in contraception. And post natal physio for me please that would be fab idea.

Just read about the teething thing that never ocurred to me it could be starting so soon?

And Octo, can't you do a test now just to put your mind at rest or is it too soon?

Ange - bleeding all the time, no that doesn't sound too great, good to hear ur getting "checked out", hope its ok.

Back to periods. I was never that great at biology so please can sm enlighten me. If you ovulate and don't conceive (no chance of that just yet), does this mean that you HAVE to have a period or can it just sit there doing nothing, cos i can't stay like this for the next 3 or 4 weeks cos i'll end up ripping someones head off.

????????????

Pinions · 05/07/2007 14:03

And does anyone else ever suffer from cant-be-arsed-itus?

geordiemacminx · 05/07/2007 14:14

also known as lazy-itus... yep - chronically... I tend to hoover and spray furniture polish around about 10 minutes before dp comes home from work - fools him every time!!! Especially if I get the ironing board out...

Pinions · 05/07/2007 14:19

Ha ha yeh thats a great trick. Or just bang the pans in the kitchen with a wooded spoon that usually works too.

Lazy-itus. I hate but what can you do, when the brain is willing but the body is not?

Have got 25 minutes to kill and then back to nursery for oh nightmare one.

Just remembered too. Totally irrelevant.

I "conceived" on July 17th last year, the hottest day of the year around here. How time flies.......

geordiemacminx · 05/07/2007 14:23

To be honest I could do nothing at all and dp wouldnt care in the slightest - I do it cos I feel guilty, as I dont work I feel like I should "earn my keep" as such, I know that sonbds really bad, but if the house is clean and tidy, the washing and ironing are done and there is food in the fridge I feel like I have accomplished something with my day...

Katy44 · 05/07/2007 14:25

gmm, know what you mean
i conceived on 31st or 1st aug - soon 1st anniversary!

Pinions · 05/07/2007 14:25

Well yeh - how come you don't work if you don't mind me asking?

Is dp lottery winner/v high earner?
