lol at 'deep and meaningful'. Great sleep for Ella too. M was up last night at 11, 11.30, 12, 12.15, 12.25, 12.29 and on and on ad infinitum, ad nauseum. She didn't sleep until 5am and has done nothing but sleep since. Just had a good half hour dreamfeed though.

Very excited about haircut. DH rang round every salon in town and found one doing an introductory £45 cut and colour so we're going with that. A friend uses them and says they're great. They'll hate me though as I'm just going to wander in and say 'low maintenance, no stripes' which is next to useless. No idea what I want. Ideally I'd like to look like Eva Longoria but that's not a hair thing really.

DH has just squirted saline up her nose and she's found it hilarious, sneezed about 10 times and is grinning like a loon.

Off to crack open the Calpol. And that's just for me.

largeginandtonic · 02/07/2007 10:53

SOH just to put the calpol worry at ease for you, when the twins were born at 29 weeks from pretty much the minute they were born, no end of drugs were given. They had paracetemol, brufen, morphine, sedatives, caffeine as well as a host of antibiotics. They needed them to make them comfortable, it made their life bearable. They were fine and as you know it has had no ill effect on them The calpol will make M's life a little more comfortable. Please dont worry about it, or feel guilty. You torture yourself enough.

I wish you lived down the road >

April we are on for Tuesday! Oracle consulted. Will leave after school run and hope to be with you by 10.30ish, will text if im running late (ie having to feed\change Beau)

largeginandtonic · 02/07/2007 10:57

Forgot to say have lovely hair cuts today both of you, im very The single best thing a woman can do for herself is have her hair done. Tis true i tell ya, makes you feel sooooo much better.

Gingerbear · 02/07/2007 11:42

I had my hair cut last Wednesday - a bit of 'me' time was great. Unfortunately, I haven't had chance to even blow dry it properly since then, so I am back to shaggy 'hedge Backwards' look, just a little shorter.

I need a bouncy chair. Thing is - do I get a basic one or an all singing all dancing vibrating, rocking contraption?

Harumpf, my 6 week postnatal check/ Patrick's check is due tomorrow, so I rang the docs to check on the appointment - i wasn't even on their list! good job I rang them. Now delayed until next week.

My c-section scar is sore today I have had no problems with it, but now and again, it is sort of stinging/aching - a weird sort of pain really.

aprilmeadow · 02/07/2007 13:12

YAY, see you tomorrow LG&T. Might have to do a trip to the supermarket to get some KK's

Having my haor done will be nice, but all i do is tie it up so no one will really see it!

AbbyLou · 02/07/2007 14:51

Hello everybody. Hope you're all well. We've had a very busy weekend, been away for most of it so not been online at all. I've no chance of catching up, still only half way through reading all the posts! My two are fine, C had the time of his life on Saturday because we went to a DIamond Wedding party which was a barn dance. He loved every minute of it. Dh and I were absolutely knackered - quite sad really when a particularly energetic Strip the Willow reminds you how unfit you are! R was an angel too and had lots of old ladies cooing over her.
SOH sorry to hear M is a bit poorly, hope the Calpol works.
Those of you having your hair done I am v jealous, hope you have a lovely time. I was hoping to go tomorrow just for a trim but I have to take R for her first jabs - oh no!

lilKelBel · 02/07/2007 15:07

hi remember me?
just lurking and wanted to let you know i love your thread but can't keep up witch'yall!

baby S here is 5.5 weeks and lovely, but still has painful wind issues even though we've done infacol, colief, goat formula, and osteopath. beginning to lose hope except that I know one day it will just go away. like when she's 18.

take care everyone - x

MKG · 02/07/2007 16:19

Hey SOH. sorry to hear that M is not good. If you have a swing keep her in it or a carseat as much as possible. Being upright will help her. A humidifier can also help.

DS1 is officially a toddler. Yesterday he was playing with a cell phone at a party. He was walking around talking for about 15 minutes when is 18 mo. cousin walks over and grabs it out of his hand. (Yes my ds is a chicken heart that doesn't fight for his stuff) Anyway, he looks at me and says . . . "Mine" (for the first time). I looked at him, and said, "Well if you want it, go get it back" and he went running after his cousin to get it back.

Befsnork · 02/07/2007 16:26

hi likel! r u coming to the metup with little S?

lilKelBel · 02/07/2007 16:37

hello bef! Not sure yet. Have planned to but TBH it could be a bit much for me. I'm doing too much these days I think - still bleeding loads

LOL MKG. How old is the little man?

MKG · 02/07/2007 16:42

He'll be 23 months on Friday, and get's funnier every day.

Befsnork · 02/07/2007 17:09

fair enough - take it easy. found car journeys worst for returning bleeds

scootermum · 02/07/2007 20:37

Hi all,

Havent had time to catch up properly so big wave to everyone till I do..

Still feel rubbish so back to Dr I go tomorrow..such a pain..

First real full day alone with my two little ladies today..(dh has been here most of the rest of the time, due to varying ailments of myself or DD's)
The fact that I am writing this in bed, and feel totally frazzled is tantamount to how it went!At one point both were screaming blue murder, (Lily on the floor, actually banging her head on the wood with rage)Didnt know which to try to comfort first so resorted to singing some peppy show tunes to try to calm them down..didnt work but made me feel tons better!

Getting v. excited about meet up next week..SOH I hope you are going to wear your straw hat!

largeginandtonic · 02/07/2007 20:54

Could not have got much worse really..... took Beau to the baby clinic and he has only put on 7oz in 2 weeks. Follow tutting from HV'S. I mentioned he has quite a ressess in his chest and we were swooped on by 2 HV'S, he also went a bit dusky round his mouth. So app made for doc at 5.30, i pointed out i have 6 children and perhaps 5.30 not a good time

Picked up 4 from school and the BLOODY car would not start!!!!!! So all 6 children and i sit in the car for 2 hours waiting for the beakdown guy. He arrived at 5.30......so no app for Beau.

Basically the generator that charges the battery is knackered. So tomorrow i have to phone the garage and pray that they will fix it and give me car big enough to transport 6 kids while they fix it It is under warranty so they should do it [hopeful emotion]

So sorry to April as i have to cancel tom Will text you in a mo in case you dont read this.

Hello Lil and MKG, nice to see you both posting

Oh Scoot i was hoping you would be feeling better by now, get thee to a doctor asap. Anything you need?

Beau is a snot monster, poor lttle thing. Have given him 1ml of calpol, bless. Doctors tom at 9.10, if the car starts

cinnamontam · 02/07/2007 23:15

OMG - was in car with cousin and late getting back to her place to relieve babysitter. Tilda wakes up in car seat needing a feed and we are 40 mins from home. So this is what happened next....

Cousin - driving through Lewisham, Dulwich.
Me - kneeling on back seat of car leaning over Maxi Cosi with tit hanging out and Tilda having (for her) a lovely feed

Cheeky wench of a cousin took a photo when we stopped at some lights. Thank GOD they have serious car tinting

Anyone else done anything as stupid as that?

Pebblemum · 03/07/2007 00:47

Lol

I remember bfing ds1 in a similar way when he was a month old and we were stuck in traffic. We didnt have tinted windows though so I hung a blanket up at the side window so nobody could see what i was doing only for it to fall down half way through and just as an old teacher pulled up beside us, I could have died of embarassment especially when he saw me and waved. Anyone else i could have handled but this was a teacher I had fancied for years and had often bumped into in pubs and clubs since leaving school (he was only 10yrs older than me)I had spent ages trying to get him to see me as a grown up sophisticated woman rather than an ex student and here i was the back of a car on my knees, bum in air and boob in a baby's mouth. It didnt matter that i was happily in love with ds1's dad and no longer wanted a relationship with this man (no matter how gorgeous he was, he taught P.E and had a body to die for hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, oops sorry i got caught up in the memory!!)all i could think about was how stupid i must have looked at that moment. Ive managed to avoid bfing in a moving car ever since, if a baby needs feeding we have to pull over first

Ive had a shite evening but remembering that has brought a smile to my face. Firstly tonight my sink decided to block up just after i had put the washing machine on and left the room. I returned ten minutes later to a flooded kitchen, all the water from the washing machine had come up through the plug hole and overflowed all over the sides and floor. Its not a proper blockage though its the way the council have put a pipe in, they seem to expect water to flow uphill to get outside but of course it doesnt so now I have this problem, instead of going outside the pipes fill up with water until it comes up out of the sink. I had them out about it last week and pointed the pipe out to them, they ignored me instead insisting it was a blockage in the pipe which they had solved with their plunger. Now it was happening again and when the man from the council came out he said there was nothing he could do, it was out of hours and as it wasnt a problem with the outside drains the only way it could be done is if i paid for a plumber to come out He did admit though that the pipe was tilted wrong and that was probably causing the problem (uh yeah thats what id been saying all along!!)Anyway he left me with a sink full of water and instructions to get my plunger out, if i hadnt been holding alana at the time i think i would have got my plunger out alright and it would have been used on something other than the sink

After the hassle with the sink i then had a lot of cleaning up to do. By the time that was done Alana was crying for her tea, i still hadnt fed the boys either, then DS2 came in crying, he had fallen off his bike, then dh phoned and started moaning at me about the stupid council man, I had ironing to do, needed to finish off the hoovering i had been doing before the flood, Alana wouldnt be put down for some reason, just kept crying no matter what i did. To top it off the boys decided to play me up about going to sleep, ds2 just wasnt tired and wouldnt settle, ds1 claimed he had a tummy ache and Alana joined them by staying awake too and being ratty. They all finally went off about an hour ago.

aprilmeadow · 03/07/2007 08:27

LG&T I hope you manage to get your car to start this morning. Perhaps we can arange a date next week when Hugs can go mad in the World they call Wizzy

Pebble your evening sounded awful. I cant beleive that the council say its not their problem. I hope you have a quieter day today.

Scoot sorry to see that you are still poorly. I hope the Dr's can give you something to sort it out. Thanks btw i got your card

MrsJB i hope the packing is going well! Will it all fit in the wagon? Have you got a thousand check lists or is it a throw it all in job?

Tam, LOL at your on the move feeding! Havent had to tackle anything like that just yet. Although i have been seen in many a car park feeding Ella whilst Jack is sitting in the back playing cars or something.

Had a good night of sleep here. Jack went from 7-6 in his bed, he did wake once or twice but the main thing is he slept inhis bed. Ella went down at 7.30 woke at 4.30 and again at 7.30. Very pleased with both of them.

Ella's cold is getting a little worse, how much snot can a 12week old have? She seems happy none the less.

I cant believe we have hit the 12week mark already. Time is just flying!

Off to work today as our Finance Manager is leaving and i want to get in on the free lunch

jellybellybump · 03/07/2007 09:19

Morning all!

It's been a while but the Jellybellybump turned into a Jellybellybabyboy a month ago.

After a long labour, pethadine and vontouse Joshua was born on Sat 2 June, weighing a whopping 8lbs 5oz.

As some of you might remember from the meet-up, I'm the one with the barely visable bump. So where he was hiding we'll never know. I'd even had a scan at 36 weeks which told us he'd be around end 6 - early 7lbs

We're still trying to get used to the whole no-sleep, no-life routine, but we're getting there slowly. J is a great joy to have around and dh does the pm feed with ebm so i get a little rest.

Hope everybody is doing great with their little ones. I'll start reading the rest of the tread now.

aprilmeadow · 03/07/2007 09:26

HELLO STRANGER!! Congratulations on the arrival of little Joshua. I can go and complete the Birth Announcement thread now :-)

aprilmeadow · 03/07/2007 09:33

Just updated the Birth Announcement Thread.

We had a total of 38 babies born, 21 boys and 17 girls.

Smallest baby was Charleymouse & George at 3lbs 1/2oz

Biggest baby was Intheseshoes & Ted at 10lbs 7oz

Birthdays for the May babies start on April 3rd and end on June 11th

Lupins71 · 03/07/2007 10:00

Hi all just a quick pop in to say hello, havnt had time to read through, soh hpe M is feeling better soon, we are all fine, i am just exhausted, A is still feeding ridiculouly often, he is on hungry baby milk and still will only go a couple of hours at the most and that is rare it is mostly 1.5hrs, coping with dp is getting harder - wish these pills would start to do something, and dd bless her is being very good but im so tird i feel im letting her down not being my usual fun mum

Has anyone got any tips on my ever hungry son, good news is he is gaining weight for england, last week he was 9lb 8oz, thats just over 1lb in 10 days, he will be 3 months on the 5th, now i know really he is only 4 weeks but so you think some very milky baby rice would be ok? btw he is on 7oz feeds - hellllllppppppp!!!

Hope everyone else is ok, i will try and get in and catch up properly, i am just spending most of my time feeding, cleaning, cooking, trying to sell stuff as dp is incapable of work it seems

Sorry for the moan

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/07/2007 10:25

Hello

Congratulations jellybelly

I really have only skimmed, Packing, Packing grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I HATE IT.

SOH, I hope M is better soon.

Lg&t, nightmare car...... I hope Beau is OK. Looking forward to Thursday.

Pebble I have your wine. Bought you 2 bottles hope thats OK. Maybe if there's a chance you'll see lg&t or April at some point I could leave it with one of them, if they don't mind. Don't really want to post it!!

Scoot, Petit Ceours on there way once we hit british soil. please E-mail me your address. Before tonight as we leave at 5am tommorow.

Befsnork · 03/07/2007 10:45

Lups - sorry can't help, but am sure someone will

april - good work on the thread stats - can you post a link?

went to mom and baby cinema yesterday to see la vie en rose - it was fab to get out and the staff were lovely, but it was hard to follow a subtitled film which jumps around a time line whilst sleep deprived and looking after the lo!

xx

largeginandtonic · 03/07/2007 11:26

Worse day.....so sorry hate to moan.

Pebble your evening souds awful Hope it has been fixed now.

MrsJB cant wait for Thursday either I too hate packing although i seem to do it an awful lot!

I took Beau to the docs, he has a cold and something else He has Pectus excavatum, his chest dips in the middle (alot) I could not understand the doctor and Hugs was jumping around so have asked to be referred to the hospital to see the paed. He is not a severe case but it looks like from internet reading that you cant really tell till he is in puberty. Im so upset

DH is back tonight so i have to try and explain it to him.

I have also phoned the garage and left a message but he has not got back to me yet. I bet im in for a fight with him too, i just dont have the energy.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/07/2007 12:08

Lg&t, I'm sorry your gorgeous baby Beau is poorly with a cold. FWIW a close friend of mine's little boy has pectus excavatum too. He is 4 now and just perfect, he is prone to chest and respitory infrections but my friend is on top of it as soon as he snuffles.

It's pissing it down here today. it did this the last time we came away, it's worse packing the car in the rain. I don't kniw how you manage lg&t with all you must need to pack.

AM I do have a few lists going. Far too organised to chuck it all in me. I'd forget something!
