OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 16:57

Oscar now has spots AND dry flakie skin. Am just waiting for cradle cap to kick in to complete the set

juliewoolie · 29/06/2007 17:04

olive oil works a treat for the flaky skin, we basted Archie in it for the first 2 weeks and now he has lovely skin. Only downside is that I want to put him on a bit ciabbata and munch him.

Befsnork · 29/06/2007 17:11

hello bg peeps. shall we do a walk next week?

anneme · 29/06/2007 17:23

I'm putting grapeseed oil in SAmuel's bath which helps his skin although he is vv spotty. I used olive oil on DS1's cradle cap but then discovered that it had gone rancid behind his ears - bit humiliating at drs. It did work though.

SOH spent last week at hairdressers with child up my front and having hair cut and coloured - he just looked a bit hairy afterwards.

MID - piles - sorry!

anneme · 29/06/2007 17:25

have just reread last posting - I am not saying that SOH was shoving a baby up my front last week. I have just lost all grammatical ability.

BTW DH looked worried last week when I said I was putting some new born vests that Samuel has grown out of in the attic - "why do we need to keep them?" he asked....

juliewoolie · 29/06/2007 17:27

Befsnork · 29/06/2007 17:31

could do a pootle to royal inn on tues. lets txt

twelveyeargap · 29/06/2007 17:37

Thanks all!

SOH - You want multi-toned high and lowlights. Lowlights tone down the hair or add red/ gold tones, highlights, well, highlight it with lighter/ blonder bits. They shouldn't go more than 3 tones lighter than your natural colour to keep it natural looking. Once the tones are all similar, then you won't get the awful stripes.

Foil is just that they add these colours in layers wrapping each layer in a little foil packet before moving to the next colour/ layer.

MKG - Sorry about your toe and about you missing your mom. That's very cute with the Happy Birdie Doo Doo though.

I must have a good baby... I managed to give myself a manicure and pedicure whilst she was asleep yesterday. Didn't manage to get a coat of colour on the toes, but I think I did well. And although LG&T claimed way back yonks ago in the antenatal threads, that I'd forget what make up is; I do my make up every morning when A goes for a nap - before I do anything else! Make up before washing up. Priorities... And I straighten my hair every second day, even if it means doing it at midnight when she finally goes to sleep after her mad 6 hours she has every evening.

twelveyeargap · 29/06/2007 17:38

Oh and DH asked me when A was about 3 days old when we were having another!

Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 17:39

Count me in. I'm free every day I think. Royal Inn does lovely food I hear

twelveyeargap · 29/06/2007 18:37

Oh and my good news... Remember DH had to dash off to the US when I was overdue the baby? It was for an interview for a job. (Job here, but interview with dept head in US.) Anyway, he finally got the formal offer for it and resigned from his current job today. Hurrah! He's going to be at home until the end of August on gardening leave. Perfect timing.

Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 18:50

Great news TYG - Great birthday pressie!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 29/06/2007 20:48

Gosh you have all been chatty today.

HAPPY BIRFDAY TYG, hope you have had a lovely day.

SOH, so glad you are feeling a little chirpier, your posts are hilarious. Have you started your book yet?

re, Immunisations, H and M were both fine after their first jabs. It's often the second lot that effects them, however I do calpol mine before and after. 2.5ml an hour before and another 2.5ml about 2.5hrs after jabs. Will help with the pain and any fever that they may get.

about you car lg&t, hope it was sorted.

Right, we are coming back to the UK on Wednesday, if anybody would like any thing from France please shout.

Scoot, petit ceour's?

lg&t, Wine? or though I still have a box at Grans but I can get you another if you would like to stock up?

AM, I owe you lots, anything you fancy?

Jucy Lucy? haven't forgotten about the Apricots, anything I can get you in return? cheese? pate? Please shout.

And anyone else that would like anything????? Will be shopping on Monday so orders by then please.

Have had a lovely few days wih my eldest neices here. They have been so fantastic with the dc's, it's been lovely.
Jorja is still very good, had 7hrs sleep the night before last it was bliss. She is getting big and we have had a bf breakthrough.

THE BREAST CRAWL really works. Thanks bef for the link, it was so lovely to watch, the baby had such a good latch with no effort I thought I'd try it. Amazing, I couldn't believe it, even at 6 weeks old Jorja wriggled her way across and found the nipple easily with an amazing latch. For the first time she actually had top and bottom lip turned out and nearly all of my aroela in her mouth, she fed for about 20mins and was very drunk after. I have been feeding like this ever since, not sure I'll manage it in public though.
"Excuse me sir, do you have somewhere I can lay down so that my baby can do the breast crawl"

brain gone dead now, sorry if I've missed anything

Oh and more children. Hummmmmmmm NO THANKS!! not broody at all, far too painful.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 29/06/2007 20:49

Fab news about Dh's job TYG, I'm sure you'll keep him busy.

cinnamontam · 29/06/2007 21:12

Breastcrawl?? I've managed to miss that one. Can someone link it again?

TYG - great new's on your DH's job

SOH - lovely to think of you munching on goodies from the gals. Made me quite misty eyed.

I'm still in maternity clothes and straightened my hair for the first time in weeks. Just haven't had the energy and didn't really have it today but just felt so mingin'

Scoot - I guess going to Boston is adventurous but it's more the idea of being without DH for 3 weeks while he is there for training that is giving me the courage. Any idea how the Americans are likely to behave if I breastfeed in public??

Hello to all

Mrsjaffabiffa · 29/06/2007 21:29

THE BREAST CRAWL

Sorry, got confused, I found this from looking at breast and bottle threads after bef's link on Milk Supply.

It's truly amazing!!!!!

scootermum · 29/06/2007 21:44

Tam-My SIL lives in Boston-I will askher re yankee take on BFing..though to be honest who cares? You go for it girl while you are there and stuff it thats what I say..

Happy Birthday TYG..Nice to see you too!Well done Mr TYG..yay what good news!!

MID..So now when will you be ready for a visit?Lily at cm's on Thurs if you fancy making me a cuppa and introducing me to your boy..Ha when I first went to Bumps and Babes with Lily I looked a total state and everyone else looked like models..imagine my horror when I turn up now, second child in tow looking like Worzel Gummidge even MORE!As for Maes B and B group, (which I actually organise with varying degrees of success weekly),I think they all pity me greatly as I always arrive late, usually covered in sick/Lilys dinner/paint or glue from toddlers group, and looking somewhat harrassed..whereas they have all been off having their hair done and getting massages..I kid you not!

It was mostly April for SOH's present..she is so lovely..glad you got it SOH though...keep your strength up lady..thats the key..lol at dh's reaction to baby 2!How is he BTW?What did Dr say about his blood?

Ruddy car largegandt..is it fixed now?

Tell you what Cam, was it you that said having a second (or more),child was like going from owning a pet to owning a Zoo?How right you are!How did the assembly go?Hope your angel boy is back to his seraph like self now...(Lily is a demon at the moment, no other word for it, so my every sympathy)

Petis Couer Mrs JB!?!YES PLEASE!!

Big wave to everyone else Ive missed..

Confound slimming..I have just had steak and chips for tea followed by chocolate fondue..I am still sickly and need something to pep me up so sucks to slimming...also trying to get strength up as DH HAS to go back to work next week and if im not better MIL will have to come..so am channelling every atom of my body into recovery..think healthy thoughts for me ladies I beg of you..

cinnamontam · 29/06/2007 22:00

Thanks Scoot. I'd like to say I give a damn about what the Yankee's think but to be honest I'm more wondering whether I need my boxing gloves on in readiness for comments and tut tutting. Bring it on I say. I will be whipping my puppies out for all to see

scootermum · 29/06/2007 22:11

Tam-She says she did it no problem..I have just been talking to her on SKYPE(but then she is a very tough German lady and few things phase her)She says the parents she met in Boston are very pro BFing but are oddly obsessive about dirt..like when a kid falls over and gets dirt on its hands the Mums rush them inside and scrub their hands with Dettol! My niece fell over and got some mud on her trousers once and the other Mums looked at SIL in horror when she didnt immediately rush her indoors and get her changed right away..
MKG...Is this America wide or just Boston?(think its quite a posh bit of Boston as well, Wellesly?Where the uni is?)

I would be sunk if I lived there..Lily was out in the yard today in her slippers rather than shoes, digging in the soil with her bare hands..

Here Tam, how is your garden doing? My Bluberry bushes have got loads on!

Pebblemum · 29/06/2007 23:16

AM finally heard from my Db and guess what, he will be popping in to see me sometime between 10 and 12 so i wont be able to come to Gun Wharf afterall, bugger. I had even managed to convince dh that i needed some spending money Oh well maybe some other time

In a way i suppose its a good thing i cant go shopping, ds2 went all strange again this afternoon, he was fine one minute then the next he was all hot and had fallen asleep again. Hes fine now (back to being a bugger anyway) but if he has got some weird bug thing i wouldnt want him to pass it on to anyone else. Ive not been too good either, suddenly got a cluster migraine just after dh left for work. One minute i was fine the next my left eye went all blurry and then the whole of my left side went numb followed by a pounding headache that only went about an hour ago even though i dosed up on pills and had a nap.

Oh well im now off to bed, have a good weekend all

charleymouse · 30/06/2007 00:10

oops not caught up but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYG. Oops now belated - sorry.

Pebblemum · 30/06/2007 08:13

AM or LG&T are you about??? Have had a change of plan, my brother is no longer coming down due to the weather and the party he was going to being cancelled so if you are still meeting at Gun Wharf and its ok, I can still meet you. I will email you both my mobile number just in case!!

Pebblemum · 30/06/2007 08:42

MrsJB I know i have a cheek but have you seen a wine in shops near you called Muscat de Rivasaltes or any similar Muscat, if so would you please be able to find out the price and if I send you the money to cover the cost of both the wine and postage could you get me some. I discovered it on holiday three years ago and its my fave wine but Ive bee unable to find it over here. Its very sweet and syrupy Dh hates it so i know if i get some he's not going to drink it lol (its about the only thing he doesnt drink )

aprilmeadow · 30/06/2007 09:01
