Evening all

LG&T- sounds like oyu had a great day yesterday Arent kids lovely lol. Glad today seems to have been better, enjoy your tea!!

Well a bit of sun seems to have lifted spirits in the pebble household. Being stuck indoors because of the wet weather has tested all of our patience, por ds2 has been climbing the walls he has been itching to get outside (ds1 is grounded so he cant go out even if he wants to). Today ds2 has been able to play outside nearly all day (except when at pre-school) and so he has been happier which rubs off on the rest of us. Hes been out riding his bike, dh got to see him doing it for the first time and was so proud. We still cant beleive he managed riding two wheels straight off and is only 3, theres no stopping him now, he just needs to learn that he has brakes and not to use the toes of his shoes to slow down

As i write this he is on the sofa snoring his head off. Im actually a bit worried, he never sleeps and for the past hour he had been getting a bit sulky/weepy and his head felt hot so im hoping he isnt coming down with anything and that hes just worn out from all the riding (hes been doing it on and off all day). He actually brought himself in from playing too which is unlike him normally we have to drag him in screaming lol and he hasnt had any tea which is strange too. LIke i say im hoping he is fine and just very tired but im going tokeep an eye on him anyway.

Alana has been so good today, she slept from 12am-9am this morning so i got plenty of sleep and when i got up i was greeted by the sun shining and lovely blue skies. I felt so awake i was actually in the mood to do lots of housework but Alana had other ideas. As soon as i put her in her chair and started doing something she decided to fill her nappy. By 11am i had done hardly anything except a bit of washing/ironing and change lots of smelly nappies. Then this afternoon i couldnt do anything because dh decided he wanted Chicken Tonight for lunch so we went to Asda to get some, got back home and just as he opened the front door he went and dropped the bag, smashing the jar and covering all the other food we had bought in Honey and Mustard sauce We then had to go out and buy some more and because he only likes the H&M one we went to several shops before he found one (Asda was too far away to go back to so he tried all the small local shops)By the time we got home there was just enough time to cook it and scoff it down before picking the boys up. I thought it was so funny because not only did he drop the sauce, he also managed to make several other mistakes when cooking the dinner (I was too busy washing the other sauce of off the shopping). Next time i will carry any bags with glass jars in I think!!

I think im going to read my magazine now before A wakes up for her 8pm feed. Hope you all have a nice evening. I may be on later if i get chance

Hello ladies

LG&T your day sounds awful, but glad you got through it! Well done on the car haggling front.

BB, bugger i have been eating really bad things and telling dh that it was for Ella's sake, i hope he doesnt read that or KFC's will be totally banned.

SOH, I am so glad that the delivery man found you. I didnt have a contact number for you so they wouldnt have been able to have called for directions. Tried to get a selection of goodies that were filling/healthy and easy to cook/eat one handed Myself, TYG, Scoot and MrsJB are the culprits

Well last night i spent an hour and a half ironing and only got through the childrens piles, i think i have about the same times worth still to go and thats without the stuff in the tumble dryer, in the washing machine and the stuff building up in the basket.....

Am off to Gun Wharf Quays on Saturday to meet up with 2 of my April 05 mummies - never met them before so it should be fun.

Got to go as Ella is taking her time in going off to sleep and everytime i think she has gone off to sleep she makes a little mewing noise!

largeginandtonic · 28/06/2007 20:26

Gun Wharf April??? As in the Portsmouth one!!! Thats across the water from me I unfortunately have the school fair in the afternoon and dh's sis and fiancee coming at lunchtime. Could see you in the morn, but bet that is too early for you. [hopeful emotion]

Pebble Alana sounds so good, can you train Beau for me?

SOH lovely to see you on here, and im thrilled that the lovely ladies on here did what they did. It is so fab to think we are all looking out for each other, believe me it fills me up every time i think about it.

If someone asks me what the best tip i could give them for pregnancy then i would point them straight to here Of course they mau not end up with such a lovely bunch as as

Have put Beau in his crib, he is yelling...... he does not want food again.....surely?

I have a Toyota Previa, 8 seater! It is great, and an automatic. I had not driven one till i test drove it. Easy peasy luckily although i was a leeeeetle bit nervous. So we can all fit in the car for lovely days out in the glorious English sunshine

Cam, it is hell isnt it. I loathe assembly's, shame really cos i go to many. I feel awful if i dont go but most of the time hear nothing and stress at the toad that deigns to call himself my son....grrrrrrr

Right Beau still yelling and sounding like he may ingest his dummy, perhaps he is hungry. I think him and SOH'S Mathilda have been telepathically communicating

anneme · 28/06/2007 20:40

LG&T I agree - I think that this is definitely a good place to direct preg mums. When I am chatting with my local post natal group it always amazes me that none of them thought of joining the MN May 07 group - I am then quite relieved when I think of some of the things that I have shared with you good ladies.
Also got quite weepy at lovely ladies helping out SOH - let's be honest SOH your brilliant witty postings have kept the rest of us smiling over the past few months so you deserve something back (I now feel that I am jumping on the bandwagon of goodness here - I was not actually involved in sending the delivery man to the wilds of norfolk and I think that those who were are lovely)

aprilmeadow · 29/06/2007 08:27

LG&T, i think i could manage that I dont have to be at gun wharf until 2.30. If you could email me with your address i could plug it into my sat nav, otherwise i dont stand a chance of finding anywhere! email [email protected]. Think it takes about 45-60mins to get to you. I will have both children as dh is helping our friend get on with the garden, well if the weather holds out.

My bosses have a Previa and i think it is a great wagon to drive. Up nice and high, lovely automatic and loads of room.

I do feel really sorry for the poor delivery man that got lost and drenched trying to find SOH. I just remember how hard i found it when i had Jack and that was with my dh working from home and being able to help me when i was having a bad day. I am also really lucky in that both my parents and my mil (not sure if lucky applies there) only live 5-10mins down the road so i have a fair few people to call on if i need some help. The thought of SOH being stranded as it were really made me want to do something to help out, and the fact that she wasnt eating properly made me get on the net and find a way of getting some yummy food to her that didnt need to be prepared.

Anywho, i finally managed to complete the ironing last night so that was good, only problem is, is that i have just started the washing machine and filled the tumble dryer, so the mountain is starting to re-build itself

Catch you all later x

largeginandtonic · 29/06/2007 09:15

SOB My car wont start..................

Breakdown guy on the way

April i could go over to gun wharf and meet you there, that way you wouldnt have to drive in to the depths of Gosport. It is such a pain to find. I can just hop on the ferry from Gosport and walk in to Gun Wharf.

Boooo, hooooo. Please let it just be the battrery or something. Bloody new cars, the kids were so excited this morning

twelveyeargap · 29/06/2007 09:28

Oh NO, LG&T, sorry about your car. That's just gutting.

SOH - It was purely a selfish act. No disrespect to the rest of us, but your posts are definitely the funniest and most well writ. So, we need you to build your strength up so you can spend more time on here. Hehehe.

Supposed to be going into the City to have lunch with DH today and maybe pop into the office to show off the baby. Just waiting to hear from a girl at work whether they're busy doing "disaster recovery" exercises after that bomb being found.

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me...

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 29/06/2007 09:36

SOH! Hello! You Live!
(I did address a post to you further down but I think it got lost in the enormity of this thread...email me mate and I'll give you my mobile and you can rant at me anytime you like. xx

anneme · 29/06/2007 09:57

happy birthday tyg.

Good luck with the car LG&T

Befsnork · 29/06/2007 10:08

Felicitations tyg! hope you have alovely day

madeindevon2 · 29/06/2007 10:25

ive got a million questions and lots of them far TMI......
lochia....it smells a bit wiffy. should i mention this to the young male doctor im seeing on monday re my high blood pressure?
big belly and overhang....had a c section and although belly has shrunk a lot i got quite a large overhang. the way to get rid of this is lots of exercise when body permits? i cant imagine any amount of exercise getting rid of it!? (no way anyway at moment coz of section and blood pressure)
since having Freddie i have found it uncomfortable to go to loo. think i got a small pea size bubble of skin outside anus. is this piles or something???
right. now i told you all my embarassing ailments....does anyone have any ideas?

one thing that i have realised.....they tell you to rest after section but you cant drive and my doctor wont come out to me so i have no choice but to have a 20 min walk there and back to the surgery. i felt quite achy yesterday after the walk back.

Pebblemum · 29/06/2007 10:41

Morning all

Another great nights sleep as far as Alana is concerned but poor ds2 was very unsettled. He seemed to be burning up all evening and whenever he woke up he was not with it at all. He woke at 7am asked for a drink, fell back to sleep for 10mins then ended up in bed with us. He's up now and seems a bit better, hes been nagging to go out to play so he must be feeling ok but to me he still looks tired.

I love Gun Wharf. Taking the ferry is definately the best way for you to go LG&T the parking there is horrendous, we normally end up parking miles away and walking. If I knew what time my brother was going to pop round i may have been tempted to join you both but unless he has the sense to text me a time i have to wait in all day . Dont want to risk missing him, god knows when he will next be down

Hope everyone has a nice daym bloody awful weather here again, think im going to emigrate lol

twelveyeargap · 29/06/2007 10:54

MID, sounds like piles, yes. Sorry! And yes, I would mention the smell as could indicate infection.

Sry for short post. Typing one handed...

madeindevon2 · 29/06/2007 10:59

ta.
what i was thinking.
the joys of motherhood!?
hahahah Freddie more than makes up for the appaling state of my body!

juliewoolie · 29/06/2007 11:07

happy birthday tyg

Off to the osteopath with munchkin today its our second session - wish it could cure his inability to sleep during the day. Shouldnt complain cause at nighttime he wakes up feeds and goes straight back to sleep. ho hum cant have everything.

lg&t poor you.

mid2 defo sound like piles prep h gel is the best thing I had a few and it worked a treat at getting rid of them or you can ask your doc for a supposotory (sp)

aprilmeadow · 29/06/2007 11:34

Many Happy Returns TYG. Enjoy your day.

LG&T hope your car is an easy fix. I really dont mind coming to you, unless you want to get out. My sat nav is very helpful and havent got lost before.

MID, isnt motherhood glam!!

Pebble, are you online? MSN??

Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 11:51

TYG - Many happy returns. Hope you have a lovely day and the sun shines all day for you.

MID - Have empathize with overhang. Don't know if it's ever properly go. A friend of mine said hers didn't really. Don't know how much exercise she did though. As you say, we'll have to wait and see as it's another 3 1/2 weeks before I can even start! I did have a tummy to start with though, so that may effect the results too??

Have also decided that's when I'll stop eating copius amounts of chocolate. Although this is all theory at this stage as it coincides with DH going back to work and me being with baby 24/7 alone for 2 weeks. We'll see...

Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 12:21

Have empathize? can empathise

cameroonmama · 29/06/2007 14:12

Happy birthday to you TYG

Can't believe the car didn't start LG&T, how annoying, hopefully its fixed now.

What a bunch of thoughtful mummies for sending goodies to SOH, lets hope she eats them up soon and is back to her usual entertaining self shortly

I had a child from hell moment at toddlers this morning and to my shame the child was mine. DS1 wouldn't listen to me when I asked him to stop something and just grinned like a maniac back at me as if possessed, J was yelling in my arms and I was trying to pull ds1 away from what he was doing and I suddenly felt totally out of control, hundreds of mummies watching (well, perhaps 6) one kind mummy took J while I calmed ds1 down. What happened to my angel boy ? Off to assembly in a moment where said angel boy will probably be a PITA then I have to drag all three of them to the doctors for my and J postnatal check - I am tired...

madeindevon2 · 29/06/2007 14:58

when i met with others from my nct group. they all look so good? would hardly even know they had babies within the last month (if they didnt have the trendy changing bags and prams)
me....im still in maternity clothes. not thought to put any makeup on. my body is knackered and my darling freddie is covered in spots. and i mean covered.
feeling a bit crappy about it all.

ShowOfHands · 29/06/2007 15:05

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy...

Er...

Happy birthday dear TYG

Bugger it.

Many happy returns of the day to you TYG. Gosh only 21 but so wise with it, you must be very proud.

LG&T, what is your car called? A praevia? Surely that's a medical condition affecting the placenta? Now I know with your 27 children you have a fondness for this mothering lark, but that's taking it a bit too far, driving round the Southern coast in a womb. So Beau and Mathilda are kindred spirits then? The next Posh and Bex, Peter and Katie, Reggie and Ronnie...

Interesting aside: did you know I've slept in the bed Reggie Kray died in? Actually not so much interesting as morbid and unnecessary. Shan't dwell on it too much.

Have had a terrible thought, I know none of you are contemplating ever having children again but next time we join an antenatal thread it will be with other people. Eugh. Actually am exceedingly broody which is ridiculous as I patently can't cope with the child I've got. Suggested we have another to DH last night and he actually cried, crawled under the bed and wasn't seen for the next four hours. What ridiculous trick of nature is this?

Many thanks for all the lovely comments although I assure you I am not witty, it's a programme installed in my laptop to make me appear interesting and debonair. In reality I am cripplingly shy and can't string two words together as you will all see at the meet-up. I'll be the one with the baby attached permanently to my boobs, scrabbling in the biggest bag of nappies and wipes for hidden stashes of gingerbread. You chic city types will be there in your slick suits drinking decaf skinny lattechinos pretending you're in the befriend a bumpkin programme.

Must ask a dull question. Am having my hair coloured on Tuesday and they have asked questions about what I want. What's a lowlight? A foil? [yokel]

ShowOfHands · 29/06/2007 15:11

MID m'lovely. I have two pairs of trousers which fit (even DH's trousers are too tight), I barely brush my hair on a daily basis, look like a sack of potatoes in a baby-sick stained t-shirt and can't hold a normal conversation. Those NCT women go home and cry into their manicured hands I promise you.

M's spots have gone now. She has cradle cap instead.

Please don't worry, we're nearly all of us just getting through at this stage. Each day that I don't lose a limb, fall down the stairs or sob uncontrollably is a small battle won.

MKG · 29/06/2007 15:23

Scooter,

Stupid me was moving furniture and I stubbed it on the couch, there was a very loud cruch and it is now black and blue and pointing in a different direction.

On a funny note DS1 is trying to sing happy birthday. Which comes out sounding like "Birdie doo doo".

MKG · 29/06/2007 15:28

SOH I'm also very broody. I was still in the hospital when I decided to have another one. But I will have to lose this baby weight first.

Happy birthday TYG!! (Happy Birdie doo doo).

Juicylucytoo · 29/06/2007 16:55

MID - tried on a pair of normal trousers last week = BIG MISTAKE. I didn't get full wear out of my maternity gear anyway, so wearing it for another 6 months is really a good thing

Agree with SOH re other NCT mums. Bet they're trussed up like turkeys in mega corsets under their designer gear. Do not despair, we will get through this together!
