In your honour, IYKWIM

Good luck today DH, hope the weather's better than it is here!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Dragonhart · 29/06/2007 11:58

Loopy- we used to live south of Abergaveny near Usk when I was little so not too far from you? about DH being away. I hate it when DH is away for just a weekend so must be very hard for you.

Urban/smallone- Bread in the oven. Nothing else. Honestly, ds loved it! Did you eat the rusks too Urban? I love them. Mmmmmmm. Used to buy them for myself before I had children

Smallone- LOL so right about dhs!

Dragonhart · 29/06/2007 12:07

Also, exchanged some presents for Ruth as they either dont fit or I dont really think she will wear them. When I got home and showed DH what I had changed he made me feel bad about it. For example, he said it was the fact that they had bought her a coat (which she doesnt need) and what I changed it for (2 pairs of trousers and some tshirts) that was not 'right'. So I should have bought her another coat instead of something totally different iyswim. Everyone does it though dont they?! I thought it was better she had stuff she used, and would rather people changed presents I gave rather than not use them!

IsItPimmsOClock · 29/06/2007 12:38

It makes far more sense to swap the clothes for something you actually need - don't listen to your dh!

I'm not weaning yet. DS is 24 weeks (or maybe 25?). I keep thinking about maybe starting (was going to try the BLW route) but not actually getting round to it and while he's still sleeping well I'm happy to wait another couple of weeks.

MrsGP - I'm sure your buyer will understand if you email and apologise. BTW - pmsl at your name changing, how many aliases have you got?

Apologies to anyone who has msn'd me this week, dh has been using my laptop and apparently has tried to reply to a few people but he's not sure if he managed to!

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 12:52

Pimms - have decided to MN under various pseudonyms which include JoeAverage, SayNoToMissionary and Menarefrommars ATM. Think ask long as I don't venture near my original posting name then I shouldn't get recognised. I know it's daft I just don't want to be seen as 'that MNer' or linked to anything as disgusting as racism. Mud sticks.

For those of you weaning here thought was an excellent idea. Am gonna buy one.

Loopy - crappy crap about your DH

Dragon - my DH is horrified at the thought of us trying again when J is two as he thinks it is too early I think he thinks we will fall straight away again. Will tell him your age gap - that should shut him up

D&V has finally GONE!!!!!!!! His poo has edges and is reasonably solid. Thank god. He is a hungry bunny now though.

I'm bored - weather is shit again parts of Lincoln have flooded and it is supposed to be shocking again this weekend. Excellent

smallone · 29/06/2007 13:49

Dragon - DD is 23 weeks so we're sort of rolling into BLW only giving her the odd bit here and there, mostly at our tea time. I like the idea that she can sit with us while we eat and feel part of it. And it keeps her busy so I can actually eat a meal with both hands!

There have been days when I haven't given her anything other than milk so if you wanted to start and then not bother while you were under the watchful eye of ILs then I don't think its a problem. Equally the BLW route doesn't rush LO's into food so I don't think it matters if you wait even longer than 26 wks TBH.

MrsG- Thought of you this am when I was greeted by poo of epic proportions shortly followed by two more delivered onto the changing mat during nappy change - and its not like I'm slow about it either! Glad D&V has sorted itself out.

smallone · 29/06/2007 13:50

Loopy- you're not too far from me I'm Ross on Wye

MrsCarrot · 29/06/2007 14:26

GP- Pleased he's better today. Did it arrive or is the strike in your area? I've seen some vans here. I would still give it to him if it were me, but I don't mind if you want to send it back.

Dragonhart · 29/06/2007 14:33

Glad J is feeling better today MrsG. Think Ruth has a cold . Do you think it is bad if I give her calpol tonight just in case as my mum is babysitting? We havent been out for ages and I know that my mum would be fine but I seem to be more paranoid not less with Ruth!

Might be because when L was born, I made sure I went out and let others do stuff so I wouldnt be stuck in. With R I have been too knackered to go out and dh/mum/mil/friends/family all look after L when we see them. R is a bit clingy now.

LadyTophamHatt · 29/06/2007 15:16

new photos on profile girls.

have ds1+2 off school today with sick bug.

great fun here.

Lizzzombie · 29/06/2007 16:03

Hello everyone! Totally can't work out if newbies are oldbies with new names or not. So glad to see lots of new people on the thread!
DJ has been asleep for over 2 hours now. I normally wake him at 3pm for a feed but its now 4pm and he is still snoozing and I feel bad about waking him up. So I'm wasting time on here! Hope you all are well. xxx

Lizzzombie · 29/06/2007 16:07

oops. that tempted fate. he is awake! x

theUrbanDryad · 29/06/2007 17:08

LadyTophamHatt · 29/06/2007 18:07

theUrbanDryad · 29/06/2007 18:09

loopyjules · 29/06/2007 18:20

dragonhart - we are weaning a la annabel karmel and he is loving it the little greedy guts, and i've never felt as mumsy as when i'm cooking up his baby food!

oh have to dash just put him to bed but he's shouting, probably rolled over and got stuck...!

RGee · 29/06/2007 18:36

Boo!

theUrbanDryad · 29/06/2007 18:38

eek!

good news Loopy!

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 18:39

RGEE IS BACK!!!!!!!! Hello lady did you have fun? Thought you might have been swept away!!!!!!

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 18:41

DH - dose her with Calpol and have a good night!!!!!!

Better than some people who dose their children up with Medised if they aren't sleeping very well (you know who you are!! )

No one commented on my link to that feeder thingy. What do you reckon?? Should I order one?

The eBay woman emailed me back and was very lovely so all is good

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 18:42

BTW - does anyone else have a Facebook page?? What'dya reckon to it?? Is it worth doing??

laughalot · 29/06/2007 19:03

What the heck is a facebook page by the way I love the idea of the fruit thingeys might get some.

Rgee wooohhhoooo

eandh · 29/06/2007 19:04

who would dose their child up on medised - thats a truly desperate parent to do that

Mrsgp-I couldnt actually work out what that link was [doh stupid emoticion]

RGee - woooooooooooooooo you are back mwah mwah

Loopy - wey hey dh coming home

LTH - Love the pic of all 4 of them dont the eldest 2 look so similar!!

Lizz - hope dylan had a lovely snooze

DH - I'd do the calpol

Ellie and I had a lovely day joined te library and she got her bookstart books (
the ones you get free when they are born, you get another set at 18months with book bag and a treasure chest with books in when you are 3) she was peeing her pants as pirates are her favourite thing. She loved the childrens library wet on the computer, listened at story time and we came home with 3 books, 2 on dinosaurs and 1 on pirates (mmmm knew she should have been a boy) have read them several times already. We baked brownies this afternoon and she was so excited when my Mum brought Hattie home she was saying 'my baby home' 'my sister back' and hasnt stopped cuddling her - awwww bless she really does love her

RGee · 29/06/2007 19:06

Yes, it's meeeeeee.
Come back a day early cos I was missing you all sooo much. (And also because it was very wet and we couldn't really go out in a papouse in the pouring rain, and there's only so much drinking that can be done when you are in charge of a lo). Anyway, apart from the rain we had a very relaxing time. Managed a couple of walks and a few nice pub lunches. There were ponies in our cottage garden and lots of bunnies and lovely rolling hills (covered in thick dark cloud...).

So, what's been going on here? You've all missed me no doubt Managed to find you all on this new thread. You can't escape that easily.

So then, need to go and read c 150 messages. Back soon.

2Happy · 29/06/2007 19:15

re: age gaps. There's 19m between ds1+2, and when I ws pg my mum kept going on and on and on about how we were totally insane to have such a small gap. Most other people with similar gaps (and I remember Nemo being reassuring ) said they though a small gap was good. I think it depends on the parents and the kids, and I think there's no "right" gap. But I haven't had a problem with our age gap, or at least not one that I think would have been any different if we'd waited another 6m. Got to say, on balance I prefer february to june for having babies.

Jodie - really can't believe the crawling!!! Good on him for broccoli - seems to be the only veg ds1 won't eat!

MrsGP - never ebayed, sorry cn't help. gl;ad the d&v is settling though

DH - still no weaning here, though ds2 is going through a really bad phase at nights and I know food shouldn't make a difference to feeding, but I am close to desperation!! Hoping he'll settle and I'll be able to hold off until 26w (but that's 5 looong weeks away!) And your dh is talking rubbish, it's far better for her to get stuff she needs!

Smallone - lol about not throwing socks and pants with holes out but throwing something important out, dh is just the same!

Loopy - great news, have a lovely evening!

RGeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have a facebook page, but I prefer MS messenger TBH

ds2 being a bit gurney today, no idea what's up with him...probably overtired from being up half the night the last few nights and dh is on call all weekend so he can't help. I may be MNing the venings away!

RGee · 29/06/2007 19:40

Hope you and your lo's are all on the mend, what with colds, D&V, bad foot, etc.

DH - glad the christening went well. You got any photos?

MrsGP - hello you! Did a first aid course at work, focussed mainly for adults but thought it would help for lo. Can't really remember anything though .
Can't help with the tail pulling although think it is v v common. DH does it all the time
Those feeder things don't really do it for me btw. Sorry...I won't stop you getting them though

2Happy - yeah! Name back! You got the door handles on yet?
Didn't realise Loosh was from Huddersfield. Loosh - have you been to the Trinity Hydrotherapy Centre?

Shimmer - Really bizarre about the sleeping. Last week lo refused daytime nap, but this week she's back on track again. Funny things! when did you live in York btw? I lived in York but not near enough to the Asda! Loved the door bouncer pic - such a male model!

EAH - have you got a file to put all of E's paintings (of course you have - silly question!). Are you selective in what you keep for the future or will you keep it all? Need to know to start up a filing system here
Can't believe you're back at work on Monday. It's really flown particularly these last couple of months. I'm in London on Sunday and Monday for a few work meetings and a major work event.

Loubie - hello again! Hope the rain doesn't get you this weekend.

Lal - it will be great weather by Aiden's birthday. Surely the rain can't last that long?

UD - loved the pic of Z chewing the bowl!

LTH - hope you had a good birthday. You must be the same age as me now - hurrah for the mature laydeez!

Trixy - glad the car made it back to the UK. Did you have a nice time?

Loopy - Welcome!! How do you manage with Dh being away? Can you say where he is?
Yorkshire rocks!! Where were you from originally? Do your folks still live oop north?

Jodie - did you do any baking yesterday? I miss drooling on this thread since Lizz stopped baking.

UD - would have been v excited for you if it was positive. Were you papping yourself?

at Carrot / PCF / Small / Lizz / anyone I've missed.
