Well we had school this morning Aidan was really well behaved and dident cry when all the mums had to have a meeting, usually he is very clingy to me but did let me out of his sight for about 20 min yey yey yey.

No more babies for us I am lucky to have a boy and a girl but sad that there wont be anymore, mrsg we started trying when Aidan was 22 months and got caught straight away .

eandh · 28/06/2007 20:48

Just me here tonight (again!!!!!)

smallone · 28/06/2007 21:04

Hello all, just a quick one before House is on, glad to see someone else is trying BLW. I'm holding things up for her and then either she takes it off me or pulls my hand to her mouth - I'm sure this goes with the spirit of BLW as long as you don't actually put it in their mouth doesn't it?

I am confused tho with some foods, was trying to find some mini rice cakes the other day and could only find ones that had 12 months and over on. Is this just "covering their arse" type warning? I couldn't see any ingredients on the no-go list (salt/honey/nuts etc) So much conflicting advice with the whole puree vs BLW my poor little brain can't cope!

Anyway off to watch House, back either later or tomorrow am.

smallone · 28/06/2007 21:04

sorry eah, hi and bye!

JodieG1 · 28/06/2007 22:41

UD - were you ok about that result? I remember the feeling of testing and getting a neg and it wasn't nice Hope you're ok

Dragonhart · 28/06/2007 22:48

Hi all, had a really nice week with my dad. He seems back to his old self now he has left his girlf/partner. Has had a really nice time plaiyng with LUke. Going out for a meal tom night with him, dsis, BIL and dbrother. First proper meal out since having Ruth so looking forward to it!

Mrsgolf Hope lo is feeling better now. Luke always pulled himself when he had his nappy off. He used to pull it so hard, that it worried me! Very stretchy though!

Welcome Loopy! Were abouts in Wales are you? I live in Warrington so near to the NE of Wales.

Sorry, cant remeber anymore. Hello to everyone else.

We are planning on starting ttc in Jan for our last (DH has 'decided' it is our last ).

loopyjules · 29/06/2007 08:05

good morning

not such a good morning here for me, dh phoned last night i was excited as i thought he was ringing to tell me he was coming home to see us but no not back for another two weeks on the bright side tho my parents are coming down to see us tomorrow, dad is going home again sunday but leaving mum with us for the week and coming back to get her the following weekend. it will be lovely to have her here to help out with brandon, he loves his grandma and grandad so will be nice for him too i'm just really peeved about dh being away and he feels the same, don't get me wrong he's been all over the place before and for much longer but it feels different now we have brandon i feel like he's missing out. plus his job now means he shouldn't need to be away which i thought was ideal while brandon was small, it makes it worse that it's just for some silly shooting comp that none of them are really bothered about anyway........rant over!

on the plus side though he's given me the go ahead to start shopping for a new tv and he said he's bought me a laptop, so he must be psychic or reading this thread.....maybe i should change my name!

laughalot - i use this name for most things online, dh christened me with it a couple of years ago and it's stuck ever since!

dragonhart - we are in brecon, about 40 mins north of cardiff

all this talk of ttc is very exciting, i remember saying never again after the birth and then i see these tiny newborns......i would like a girl but i think we'll wait a good few years i am paranoid about having two too close together and not being able to cope!

eandh · 29/06/2007 08:21

Morning - oooo sounds like this time next year there could be some siblings on the way

Loopy - I have 2.4 years between mine we actually wanted a smaller age gap and started ttc when Ellie was 9 months old (took us 9 months to fall pg with her) Fell pregnant around her 1st birthday but m/c (was only 5/6weeks) then fell pregnant again in the dec and m/c again (7/8weeks)gave ourselves a 2 month break and fell pg with Hattie (and she stuck!!) We did have some provate tests done after 2nd m/c and they confirmed 2nd m/c was a boy so often wonder if my body rejets boys?

I'll admit its challenging mainly because Ellie (eldest) is quite a 'tantrum' queen and has found it hard to adjust to having to share me. I have friends that have 18 month gaps and 6 year gaps and it appears each age gap has its own set of 'problems'. Today is nice as Hattie gone out with my mum for the day so just Ellie and me which she is loving (although she burst into tears when Mum left as she thought she wasnt bringing Hattie home) shes currently watching numberjacks then we are going to do some baking and later on go to library to join and I am going to take her out for lunch.

I'd love another 2 children but unless we win the lottery its not going to happen, dh would have loved a boy but I have a feeling we are destined to have girls and not sure 4 dd's wont give us a nervous breakdown when they hit the teenager years (can you imagine the PMT!!!)

eandh · 29/06/2007 08:22

Loopy sorry news re dh although at new tv and laptop!!

theUrbanDryad · 29/06/2007 08:25

Jodie - to be honest, i'm relieved. like Loopyjules said, i'm paranoid about having 2 too close and not being able to cope with a toddler and a newborn. having said that, Nemo does! when i told Dh the result he said, "I'm 98% relieved...and 2% disappointed." bless 'im!

i gave Zac a rusk this morning, feel really bad now for two reasons: 1) he really loved it and went right for it, so i feel bad for depriving him. but 2) i said i wasn't going to give rusks because they're so sweet (sugar 2nd ingredient on list) and he's lying next to me on the sofa going a bit loopy now. i can almost see the refined sugar rushing through his system think i may be turning into a food snob. although i'll think nothing of scoffing a packet of Haribo and several cans of Cherry Coke, so that makes me a hypocrite too!

JodieG1 · 29/06/2007 09:40

UD - glad you're not upset about it. I'm sure the rusk won't do him any harm I know what you mean about becoming a food snob though, lately I've been awful lol.

We had an 20 month gap between dd and ds1 but I actually got pregnant when she was 3 months old, sadly I lost that baby and then had 3 more losses before getting pregnant with ds1. I had another miscarriage after him and then had ds2 when ds1 was 3.2. I like the smaller gap but they are both really good with Ethan. I also have pcos which is probably why I miscarried a lot.

Can't believe Ethan is so close to crawling, he gets right up on his hands and knees and rocks lol. Decided to try him with some veg yesterday and he scoffed it hehe, sat him in his highchair and plonked some brocolli on it and he just went for it. Guess he's ready then Think I'll let him have some of what we're having soon. I have some sweet potato that I think I'll steam at the weekend for him. Also have oatcakes and rice cakes in the cupboard in preparation.

FUUUUUUUUUCCCKK here what do I do???

Will post properly in a bit, J is currently screaming

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 09:50

Sorry got overexcited!

smallone · 29/06/2007 09:55

Morning!
All this baby talk is making me broody! I really miss being pg and scarily enough I really want to give birth again. think I may be going loopy.

I would like a 3 year gap tho so dd could be at nursery/school to at least give me a bit of a break. When I was pregnant with her I could barely look after myself let alone a toddler! Hats off to those that can!

Although at the mo dh refuses to even think about another let alone talk about it. When dd was born he said if I got pg again we'd have to get a doula next time coz he couldn't cope with that again!

UD- I've been giving Heinz Biscotti - a glorified rich tea biscuit basically and yes she loves them. I wanted to give her something other than fruit and veg and it was the only thing I could find that didn't have scary warnings on. I prob won't buy them again tho coz they are really sweet. I even tried Annabel Karmels "make your own rusks" which are slice's of bread painted with a little marmite disolved in water and then baked in the oven. She'll have a go but pulls a face at them. So much for "they'll choose their own food based on nutrition" ha ha.

smallone · 29/06/2007 10:00

MrsG- I'd email and explain that dh chucked it out, most women will sympathise! Sounds like something my DH would do. Will he throw out old pants and socks with holes in? No. Will he take rubbish out unprompted? No. Will he throw something out that you actually want without asking? 'course he fecking would!

Dragonhart · 29/06/2007 11:36

Having two close together is hard work but lovely too (There are just over 17months between mine Loopy). I am sure that more than one is a handfull anyway like eah says. It feels like I always had them both, so I never knew what it was like to have a big age gap. They are really close already too, so when Ruth is a bit older, will be great fun!

Can I ask if anyone else is still not weaning then? Ruth is showing no signs what so ever of being ready but is nearly 6months. We are going to PIL onm the weekend she is 26 weeks then staying for a week so didnt really want to do it under the watchful eye of MIL. She thinks blw sounds 'dangerous' so would rather wait til we get back.
