Oh bugger forgot, had a panic phone call from Loosh this afternoon - apparently my earlier post today made it sound like dh and I are TTC. WE ARE SOOOOOOOOOO NOT TTC!!! I was taking the mickey out of PCF, and saying I hope that someone from the thread gets pg soon, but not me. I haven't ruled out a dc3, but dear god not yet! (And apologies, Loosh, for the heart attack!)

Happy Birthday LTH! I can imagine the 4th time round the baby talk isn't quite as fascinating as for us first timers!

Love the pics UD!

Like you Loubie I've started F on a combination of purees and finger foods. I know "they" say choking just doesn't happen, but I am still a bit nervous with the finger foods as F does have a habit of stuffing as much in his mouth as he can fit How did Zac get on UD? F had cucumber sticks today but kept snapping off quite big pieces in his mouth, which he looked a bit paniced about and obviously didn't know what to do with. He's done better with banana and mango, which sort of come off in small pieces, but are very difficult to keep hold of

for poorly J MrsGP. Hope he gets better soon.

I have spent hours in the kitchen today cooking a mega chocolate cake for DP's birthday tomorrow and am knackered now so off to bed. REALLY hoping F gives us a good night again - last night he slept 7:30pm til 8:30am!!

Shimmer · 27/06/2007 23:23

Just uploaded some new pics if anyone wants to take a peek.

trixymalixy · 27/06/2007 23:57

Helloooo!

I'm back from germany, but still down at my IL's. The VW made it to Germany and back despite the torrential rain and psycho dutch truckers!

Had a good time apart from DS being an absolute bugger to feed. I just can't feed him in public at all as he just wants to see what's going on and turns his head away from me and starts screaming when he realises my nipple is no longer in his mouth, but doesn't want to turn towards me to start sucking again.

Had to put up with mumblings about formula and spoons from my MIL. Was hoping to get to 6 months exclusively bfing, but I don't think I can put up with it for much longer .

Had to have DS' hair cut as it was just getting silly, have put pre and post haircut pics on my profile.

haven't managed to catch up on the thread yet so no personals sorry!

loopyjules · 28/06/2007 07:44

hello everyone i'm gatecrashing your lovely thread but hope you will let me stay as you seem like a great bunch!!

i'm a first time mum who joined mumsnet while pregnant but have never really been much of a poster, times are changing!! my ds is 21 weeks today he was due on the 23rd jan but finally made an appearance 1st feb ( so really he is a jan baby )

i won't ramble on anymore just yet until i get your approval to stay.....! home alone with ds as husband is working away at the moment and i think mn may be just what i need, off to fill in my profile then!

eandh · 28/06/2007 08:37

welcome loopy will check out your profile in a tick, be warned mn is very addictive

shimmer/trixy great pics - I got Hatties hair cut tuesday as so much had fallen out she had random long bits was looking very dodgy but very cute now

Mrsgp - thanks for email was reading that thread the other day

Preschool this morning and then Hattie and I going into town so I can buy some shoes ready for work on Monday, is it wrong that
I am actually quite looking forward to going??

eandh · 28/06/2007 08:39

loopy noticed you are a yorkshire lass originally rgee (on hols at mo) is yorkshire and i think laughalot, mrsgp, vino are all around that area. Cant think of anyone on this thread currently n Wales

2Happy · 28/06/2007 08:41

Hi Loopyjules and welcome. You have to stay, we are a nice bunch, and besides, at least then my ds2 will have some february company (he was born on the 2nd)!

Trixy - welcome back, glad to her the VW styed in one piece. You haven't missed much with the weather if you hadn't gathered!! IKWYM about the weaning thing. mil has been muttering for a couple of weeks, asked last night how much longer and looked mighty peeved when I said 5 and a half weeks!! But like you, don't know if we'll last that long. Just taking each day as it comes.

Happy birthday LTH

Shimmer, that gym pic is spectacularly cute!

GPW - how's J's botty today?

Hoping to go somewhere with dsis today as got about 3 hours sleep last night () and need to do something before I go into meltdown, which wouldn't be fair on ds1 who really is being very good and patient this morning!! Poor kid, what a mother!

2Happy · 28/06/2007 08:42

and Loosh is Huddersfield

MrsGolfPro · 28/06/2007 09:16

Hellloooooo and welcome Loopy. Fab pics - your DS has SO much hair!! I am in Lincoln (no where near wales I'm afraid). I am currently in the process of name changing but am not very good at it so jkeep appearing under different psuedonyms - please bear with me.

Shimmer - fab pics. J is having some finger food too but am generally sticking with rusk, giant wotsits (Organix carrot sticks) and banana although he has hardly had any of these this week due to the D&V.

....which I might add is STILL hanging around. Nightmare. He seems totally unfazed by it but it is a nightmare. He got through 12 dirty nappies in one day!! 12!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am gonna start making him wear dirty ones cos I can't afford to keep buying new ones LOL

Metanium is magic cream for nappy rash. His bottom is not red today.

Mum is coming a bit later so am looking forward to that.

Off to GP again at 11am for a check up on J to see how he is getting on but TBH - what more can she say??

Oh go, yes, I forgot I needed a rant . Fecking men!!!! DH took J to GP yesterday. I gave him specific instructions to ask about pro-biotics. Nothing else. I reminded him 3 times before he went. Did he remember to ask? Did he feck!!! Why are men so shite at multi-tasking. Admittedly I did ask him to drop some eBay items off at the post office on the way so maybe I overloaded his pea-sized brains with chores!!

How do male leaders run the world?????

JodieG1 · 28/06/2007 09:17

Morning all

Mrsgp - hope J is better soon

LTH - hope you enjoyed your birthday

Shimmer - the choc cake sounds lovely, might have to do some baking later myself

UD - that bowl looks great, how is the weaning going? Might be offering Ethan some steamed veg soon. I'm starting to worry
about him choking though! I'm so paranoid that he'll get a chunk of food in his mouth and then choke, I shouldn't worry as I
know that shouldn't happen but can't help it. Am def going to try the BLW though and see how we go

Trixy - welcome back. Sounds like Ethan, he does the same which makes me more reticent about public feeding these days, I still
feed him when he wants it but I try and make it home or to the car at least as he's really interested in everything around him too.

Loopy - welcome

eandh - you're back to work on Monday? Is that part-time or full-time?

2happy - lack of sleep is one of the worst things, I'm always really irritable after too little sleep. I think my body has got
used to having less though as I used to be an 8 hours a night at least girl!

No real plans for us today other than pre-school, then school pick-ups. Might do some baking later though. It's lovely and sunny but rain is forcast for later on so I doubt we'll make the park this afterrnoon If it's not raining then I'll definitely take all the kids after school.

JodieG1 · 28/06/2007 09:18

Mrsgp - my dh is the same, he forgets things the second after I've asked him, it's very frustrating.

LadyTophamHatt · 28/06/2007 09:20

mrsGP, aptimal has pre-biotics in. I changed to that when G had the sh*ts to settle his stomach.

( told you I was still here, didn't i)

MrsGolfPro · 28/06/2007 09:42

LTH - J is on Aptamil but I'm hoping that the extra dose may help.

Gave him his bath with me this morning cos he fell asleep on me last night - he smells divine. He's sat on my knee as I type and his fluffy hair just smells fantastic! Think I might have to eat him...

2Happy - talking of net babies - who is planning another and when do you think you'll start trying?? We're gonna start when J is 2

LadyTophamHatt · 28/06/2007 09:45

well, we've decided to have another one.

when G can ride his flying pig to school.

JodieG1 · 28/06/2007 09:48

I think I would but dh had the snip as he didn't want anymore and I agreed with him on having it done. If he ever changed his mind I think I'd give it a go if a reversal worked. Realistically Ethan is our last baby though. I've thought about fostering but dh isn't keen so that's somethin to discuss when ours are older.

thx for the warm welcome, i thought i may be banished for having a 1st feb birth!! good to know i'm not the only one with a feb babe 2happy

didn't realise how early it was when i posted, i thought the thread was in silence due to my post, seem to have no real concept of time since baby arrived everything just revolves around feeding, bath and bedtimes!

eandh - i am prepared to become addicted, dh will have a shock when he comes back as he will have to fight me for the pc, keep telling him we need a new laptop so this might be the push we need to get one! although i have yet to tell him the tv blew up this week so i think that may be top of his to buy list! work on monday.....poor you, although i bet you are looking forward to some child free time!

good to hear that the north is well represented on this thread, don't blame anyone for not living in wales! the north will always be home to me and dh

mrsgolfpro - there is indeed lots of hair which people delight in telling me is the reason i had terrible heartburn when pregnant, at the time i was extremely ratty about it and wanted to scream at them that it had nothing to do with hair but more the fact that the bruiser of a baby inside was squashing my stomach! i thought it may fall out as he got older but it's here to stay, i'm so chuffed i love his do! sorry to hear about your poor baby having the runs , hope it gets sorted soon, 12 poopy nappies in a day would be too much for me! i sympathise with the problems you have with dh, mine is the same i think he just seems to have a real problem retaining anything i say to him, must be a defect in all men!

just had a quick peek at some of your photos, LTH 4 boys! wow hats off to you! your little ones are all extremely cute. mrsgolfpro, do you have no photos on there or am i just being dense?! eandh your girls look so pretty, i did say no more children but to have a girl and a boy would be nice........!

oh dear i seem to have written loads, think i'll leave it there and give someone else a chance...

LadyTophamHatt · 28/06/2007 10:17

loopy, 7:44am isn't early!!

me and Ds4 had been up along time by then.

welcome to the fold m'dear. I tend to vanish for a few weeks and then return only to post 50 times in in hour....abit like now

loopyjules · 28/06/2007 10:19

lol lth that was quick! it still feels early to me as pre baby i loved my bed and would stay there as long as possible! we hadn't just got up though start the day at 6 normally which is still far to early for me!

MrsGolfPro · 28/06/2007 10:22

Loopy - will post some pics. I removed them all due to a bit of a furore over a post I made. Hmmm, think I will get over it and put my photos back up

Gp- posted it first thing so it should get to you by tomorrow, although there is talk of a postal strike, maybe I should have specialled it? Hope it gets there anyway, sooner he has it the better.

Hi Loopy

Haven't done any food yet but LO swiped some watermelon out of my hand the other day, chewed half off before I could prise his jaws open. I don't know how old he is in weeks, he was Jan 21st, anyone on or around that date who can tell me

theUrbanDryad · 28/06/2007 10:45

welcome to the thread Loopy! my friend Lynnyloo who occasionally posts on here is Welsh, she's in Swansea at the moment. (it was you who had your thread deleted yesterday for saying Welsh mums are unfriendly was it? )

well yesterday was a horrible nightmare from beginning to end. Zac didn't sleep till half 11 in the morning and it threw him out for the rest of the day. he cheered up a bit around lunchtime, but still threw his rice cake on the floor and screamed! i got fed up with him so just handed him over to dh as soon as he got in from work and went and sulked on msn (thanks for letting me rant btw MrsGP!)

with the finger foods - i am tending to hold things for him, then he holds my hand and jams it in his mouth! not quite BLW i know, but it works for us. i'm not going to bother doing separate things for him any more, i think he can just have whatever i'm having for lunch. it's not really about making him eat atm, to be honest, i just want him to have a little play with his food and see what it is. they can't choke as their gag reflex is too strong, so don't worry till they start going blue!
