i know

JodieG1 · 04/07/2007 22:08

Has everyone looked at the new pics on my profile of Ethan trying to crawl?

MrsCarrot · 04/07/2007 22:13

yes, he looks most extraordinary, Jodie, like he's about to shoot off, clever thing. You look very different in your recent photo too.

theUrbanDryad · 04/07/2007 22:24

what a clever boy Jodie. Zac just lies on his front and flails his arms and legs around whilst trying to move forward on his nose!

Dragonhart · 04/07/2007 22:35

I think Ruth is trying to use her gums to move along, just bites the carpet and looks abit like a fish!

Welcome Jamie. She look s gorgeous! I have a friend in Syston. She just had a baby a couple of weeks ago.

Rgee, still love the glasses one the best!

LadyTophamHatt · 05/07/2007 07:17

MrsC, I feel the same about childcare...once they can tell me how there day is I'm ok with it before then I just can't do it.

I know not everyone is so lucky though.

When we evenutally move I'm thinking of becoming a childminder again. I used to be one way back when I first left work so once we're ina bigger house I might do it again, either that or college for the teaching assitant thing I was menat to do last year but fell PG with DS4.

(BTW Dh asked me if i wanted more children last night!!!!, I think he's super super broody and is enjoying George so much it makes him want to do it all again...again!!)

eandh · 05/07/2007 07:33

lth go and get dh to read the entire antenatel thread and then ask you same question

eandh · 05/07/2007 07:35

oh its our 4th wedding anniversary today and dh remembered and left card downstairs

2Happy · 05/07/2007 07:41

Another time LTH? Just imagine your weekly shopping bill then

Wilkieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - wilkie's back! wilkie's back!

Jamie - welcome to the thread. My ds2 was born on 2nd feb, so you now take pride of place with the littlest baby on the thread

Well wish me luck - I'm gonna try expressing today to start building up a supply in the freezer for going back to work. I never managed to express well with ds1 and kind of had to use baby concrete (aka baby rice) to try and encourage him to reduce his daytime milk feeds. But I feel really resentful of work "making" me do this (not that anyone is, it's just the logistics of getting out to feed him make me feel it's not an option more than once a day). So I had a long chat with the woman taking the breast feeding peer support training classes last night and she's given me a hand pump and lots of advice and I going to try to express today. That way I can try BLW more as well - and I would like my weaning to be a bit more that way too (mostly because I am a lazy arse and find it more convenient not to be preparing lots of special foods ). Supposed to be semi-decent weather today finally - wonder if the neighbours'd mind me pumping in the garden

2Happy · 05/07/2007 07:42

Happy Anniversary eandh!

LadyTophamHatt · 05/07/2007 07:45

2h, when I was expressing I found the hand pump much more effective then the eletric one.
Also pumping while I was sitting here, or doing something else that only needed oe hand (ohh that sounds rude, its not but YKWIM)seemed to help too.

I had lots of advice on here about it too.

Hope it works better thsi time.

LadyTophamHatt · 05/07/2007 07:46

happy anniversay EandH

theUrbanDryad · 05/07/2007 08:13

happy anniversary EAH! how many years is it??

2Happy - i express with a hand pump, much better than an electric one, much less painful too. don't be discouraged if you don't get much out first time, a baby is always more efficient than a pump at getting your milk out! what i've found works well is having Zac feed on one side propped up on a cushion and pump the other side. it tends to spurt anyway, so i'm just collecting the excess, if that makes sense. he still won't take a bloody bottle though, so i've stopped bothering! he does love his fruit and veg though, wee little man.

btw - did anyone see anything on the news yesterday about a record breaking bubble blowing attempt?

eandh · 05/07/2007 08:39

Its 4 years UD !!!! (I was at the hairdressers now!)

RGEE lovley pics she looks a little shocked in the 1st one! and Jodie he looks like he is going to be on the move sooner rather than later

Just loaded some pics onto my profile of the infamous sofa and wicker baskets!!!

Hvae decided not to do childminder thing as I really dont want to be tied down to having to have kids especially if its a nice day just having my 2 means we could go to beach etc dont think I could cope with more than 2 in a public place, also brother and his gf dont get any help with tax credits/childcare so I'll have ds one day a week and they'll pay me nominal amoun to cover food so no need to be ofsted registered

JodieG1 · 05/07/2007 08:57

Thanks all, he rocks back and forwards in that position so I don't think it'll be long either, really have to watch him then!

Happy anniversary eah

pcf - good luck and have fun

ud - I didn't see that on the news

JodieG1 · 05/07/2007 08:58

lovely sofas eah.

vinorouge · 05/07/2007 09:05

Morning !!

Wilkie Wilkie Wilkie yes a meet up with you and Rgee would be cool. Apart from swimming on Thursdays I've not got much planned for the next 3 weeks before I go back to work.

E&H - hope the new sofas are comfy

2happy - I gave up expressing cos it annoyed me how little I got and it made my nip bleed. Good luck!!! One of my friends has managed to build up a huge supply so her dd will have EBM at childminder once a day.

Well we took Ellen to the beach yesterday and she didn't mind the wind and rain. It was sooo cute to see her hair blowing in the wind and her face when we put her feet on the sand just went all happy and she started gurgling away. Got a gorgeous pic but have left camera at DH's aunties. AGGGGHHHHHHHH I am sooo cross with myself. It was a long day though left home at 10 and got home at 11 cos of various stops on the way home and traffic.

DH - whereabouts are you near Southport?

I am useless at managing shopping budgets. We have 300 per month for food and fuel but I always overspend. Its in a separate account thank god so one switch card is just for food/fuel. I can budget and cook economically if I want to it just seems to take me a lot of effort. Maybe internet shopping is the way forward for me.

Can't remember if I told you we bought one of those rucksack carrier things for Ellen which she loves. We got the bushbaby lite from kiddicare and it is so cool. It even has a MN 'best' logo on on it!!! Ellen loves being in it, Dh says really comfy to wear and has a big rucksack space to carry stuff, lasts until LO are 2/3 depending on weight and can then be used as large adult rucksack. Waiting for a raincover for it to arrive.

Stopping now as going on and on.

Welcome Jamie !!!!!

Found out last night that one of my uni friends is pg with her second. I was a little but jealous but over it now. Not ready for it quite yet! Stopping my painkillers today so I have 'natural' pain to see physio and 2 pill free days before hen weekend. Sod it I'm gonna be boozing! Found prosecco (italian fizzy wine I lurve) in asda for 4 quid on offer last night so got 2 bottles, 2 bottles of yummy rose on offer and will take a few bottles we've had here for ages to get rid of. Mustn't go overboard withmy consumption though! Aim of being tipsy but not poorly.

Wilkie · 05/07/2007 09:16
