Hello . Just a quickie as in work and it's graduation days for the students (rain has stopped, yah!!).
TWINKE: Salford is fine ; yes, 11ish sounds good, usual place . Will pick up a few bits and pieces for dd1's birthday next week, and of course have a good trawl through Marks .
Right, better gown up!

Diege · 17/07/2007 10:07

Oh and hellp to you LONDONER! Good to hear from you - looking forward to the summer chaos?

Diege · 17/07/2007 10:08

Meant 'hello' not hellp

Londoner · 17/07/2007 11:13

Hi Diege! But hellp made perfect sense to me! Thanks and good luck today..... pics of you presenting awards in gown please, feel v.proud of you Diege. xHave good days all!

Rodeo · 17/07/2007 22:23

Hello!
I'm back online! Hooray! Just celebrated with a splurge on ebay (kids all now have summer sandals) Feel like I've been out of the loop for ages! Hmm...my news...
Gearing up for summer chaos too, last day on Friday, argh! Going to attempt to get out for a few hours a day, I'm banning all computer games and there will be restricted telly watching. Ha! Wonder how long it'll last?! Been busy with the horses and I'm still running! Every Tues and Thurs evening, getting alot better, ran 4 miles tonight without stopping, took about 40ish mins. Still don't really like it though, so not addicted yet!
Diege, not going to RH Bay this year I don't think. Hoping to get a weekend in at north Wales in August (maybe 4th-6th or the weekend after), maybe we could stop off at Gullivers Warrington on the way back?
Right, dh want's his turn on the comp now, so speak tomorrow!
Oh and have a good meet-up girls! Hope you grab some fab bargains! Pumpkin Patch Derby has a good sale at the mo, so bet yours will too

Hey all,

Rodeo! How amazing with the running and the horseriding, you must be super-fit by now. You'll be wearing short-shorts for summer now! Feel v.impressed.
Beks, are you okay? Hope you got home alright, didn't get parking ticket or something.
Right, Baby awake, gotta go!

Beksmum · 18/07/2007 19:47

Hi ya

Londoner sorry meant to post on Monday night and then yesterday but the hours seem to have escaped me again and now it's officially the summer holidays. It was really lovely to see you and E on Monday, you looked fab and E is just adorable and her speech is amazing, typical that they got used to each other just as we had to leave. Will post those pictures tonight once the munchkins have gone to bed.

Rodeo welcome back, you've been missed. Can you send me some of your fitness enthusiasm please as I'm going nowhere fast at the moment

However might have found out why I'm falling asleep all the time and feeling like I've been hit by a truck - it appears I may be anaemic [sp?] So a good dose of spinach or a shot in the butt should make me feel better hopefully!!!

Have spent this afternoon at a free fun day organised by our local park from 2pm when the kids broke up till 5pm. It rained at first and then the sun came out and it was baking but great fun was had by all. A nice way to start the hols I think, right off to search for some info on a local play scheme for B, so will catch up with you all soon. Hi to everyone who I haven't mentioned Beks

Rodeo · 18/07/2007 21:46

Evening!
Glad you've had a nice day Beks Nice start to the hols! Thanks for the fitness praise girls, I can only do it because other people want or need me to do it, I don't think I could do it otherwise! I'm amazed myself that I've kept it up for this long, but it's great how other people bouy you along Looking forward to seeing the new pics of E & T, what's E's hair like now? J's is wild! I'm forever dampening it down and combing it. And her fringe is always in her eyes despite spending £££ on hair clips - which just get pulled out and dropped Don't really want to trim it though, much to my MIL's dismay, hehe!
Right, pizza is ready (I tell you, it's a blooming good job I'm running with the amount of crap I'm consuming!)

Another one full of admiration for your running Rodeo, a fast walk to the nursery and back is about as close as I get.

So glad nurseries don't have summer holidays!

Have found a lovely website for kids clothes. The long story is that a friend got me a lovely playsuit for miniman by a company called katvig. I thought I'd look into it and found this place that did loads more. So now miniman and noo have new funky coloured wardrobes.

DH has been working evenings this week, but I seem to have mastered bedtime on my own, hurrah. It helps that miniman and noo can share a bath now (although they both have sneaky wees in it, I've seen them).

Can you believe I've only just been contacted by the SALT. I've told them I'm happy with noo's progress and they seemed satisfied with that. She's making herself understood, although now she can open the fridge and help herself she doesn't really need us anymore

Diege · 20/07/2007 11:32

Hi . Heading off to Whitby tommorrow, so won't be on-line for a week or so. Great to see you on Wednesday TWINKLE - don't those few hours fly by! Yes, it would be great to sort out a camping weekend, weather permitting - dh is keen! Love the website NOVA ,loving those dungarees, but a bit at the prices - tops are cute though, and good prices too for such original looking clothing. I'm a big fan of H&M kids wear at the moment - some gorgeous sundresses in at the mo', though doesn't look like we'll need to pack many what with the weather! RODEO, lol at MIL hair thing - I know EXACTLY what you mean - we have the same sort of 'disaproval' re: Mcdonalds, which gives me a strnage sort of satisfaction .
A big hello to everyone else, and to all those starting the 6 week slog Right, better start getting those bags packed!

twinkle1 · 20/07/2007 13:48

Hi all,
Diege yep enjoyed shopping will def sort out a camping trip as we are all very keen.I will text you if i can make it up to whitby next week.Hope everyone else is well, fingers crossed that the weather improves as i might go mad if it rains for the full six week holidays!!!!!!

twinkle & Josh

Diege · 20/07/2007 16:49

Hi TWINKLE! Yes, a text would be great, but remember that I don't have the ability to text , so I would have to actually ring you back if a reply was needed!
Well forget to mention that the marking is now officially finished. Yeah!! Woke up this morning feeling strangely different, though they are on to me for being a few days late...e-mail from 'Scriptchasers' this morning ; Right, back to packing - sooo difficult to know what to take with this weather!!!

Londoner · 20/07/2007 19:37

Hiya all, Beks thanks so much, and for those great pics in the playground, so sweeeet.

Well, end of term has arrived at last ...
feel like I need to lie down, have a drink, go wild, all of the above! Phew, what a month it's been.
Not going away this year, just hanging out, it'll be so nice.

Rodeo, lol at J's hair shenanigans(sp?), yep Baby's is chaotic fluff but I did cut her fringe a while back and it all went a bit Dave Hill as I did it while wet in the bath(!) so it ended almost before it hit her forehead lol!

Right, better scoop some of this lot to bed, have great weekends all!

Londoner · 20/07/2007 19:39

Congrats on finished the marking Diege, woohoo! Hope you have a great holiday, you surely deserve it.

Rodeo · 20/07/2007 20:33

Evening all!
Dp away for the night and kids in bed - at last! Was a real toughie tonight, they're all driving me up the wall. Can still hear them now chattering and farting about, grrrr! Deep breaths.....! If this is a taster of the summer holidays I'm going to just kill myself now....
Have a great holiday Diege! Very LOVE Whitby! Are you staying in the same cottage as last time? Are you going to queue for The Magpie? Yum! Bet you're so glad the markings finished, well done!
Londoner PMSL at Dave Hill hair, that has to be the worst haircut ever! I'm sure E can carry it off with style though
Ooh Nova, those clothes are gorgeous!! Love the prints! Wouldn't it be fab running a company like that though? I'd love it
Right my dirty secret has just started (Gardener's World, shhh!) so off to indulge, speak tomorrow! x

OP posts:
Diege · 21/07/2007 12:07

LOL LONDONER at the haircut ; at least it won't go in her eyes . RODEO: yes, we'll be queuing!!! Hope L stops her screeching as can't see the Magpie clientele igniring it!

Right, all packed! Phew...Hoping for a bit of sun, and speak to you all when we return

Beksmum · 22/07/2007 00:38

Hi girls

Diege well done on finishing your marking and have a great time.

Hope no one has been affected by this awful flooding - Chacha saw Oxfordshire is badly affected hope you are ok and all you girls north of the Watford Gap too.

Have finally managed to put some photos from Monday on the Y site if anyone wants to look.

Have had a fun couple of evenings, went out for a mums night last night, was very disappointed though as there are 30 kids in our class and only 6 mums turned up and 4 of us had organised the night out

Had friends over this evening which was lovely, and then it's a party tomorrow and out with a different group of mums on monday night, it's bit like buses none for ages then 3 together, don't suppose I'll go out again till Christmas then

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, speak next week Beks

ChaCha · 22/07/2007 13:52

Hello girls, Hope all is well with you all.

BB - What's it like in your neck of the woods then? I wasn't able to get back home from my mum's due to the flooding but am having a lovely time so no worries for us..I heard your area mentioned on the radio last night. Hope you're all okay and with internet access!

Happy holidays to those who are away and happy summer holidays to busy mums with a house full of kids! We are all okay, finally have some time to get online while the little ones are at the park with nan, DS2 is eating for England so am back to the faff that is puree and freezing today..

Going to browse and post MN for a while, see you all soon x

novadandypowder · 22/07/2007 20:18

Hi chacha - I spent some time on friday making purees although noo was clinging to me for some of it as she hates the noise of the hand blender! He had his first taste yesterday (if you don't count the petit filous I put on his tongue last week for a laugh ) and it went pretty well. He's definitly ready for it. Looking forward to the day we can all go out and eat together.

Beks - I always feel like going out is the last thing I want to do when I could be getting some sleep, but I'm always glad I went when I get there. Sounds like your evenings have been fun and the other ladies don't know what they were missing.

Diege - woohoo to finishing the marking and double woohoo for the holiday.

Londoner - noo always wears a short fringe, but then again so do I. Her hair seems to have shrunk though, and I'm desperate for it to grow so she looks more girlie. Oh well, at least it's filling in round the sides now.

novadandypowder · 22/07/2007 20:47

Beks, I've just had a look at the Y group and T looks sooo much like you!

I've added a few of miniman and noo, sorry - none of the haircut yet.

Londoner · 23/07/2007 15:30

Hi guys, oh this is so nice (so far...) loads of kids for Baby to play with and keep her entertained while I get on with stuff.... On tap babysitters ahhhh this is the life.
Hi ChaCha good to see you back again.
Rodeo, am with you on noisy kids at bedtime drive you up the wall it's a nightmare when your expectation is a bit of Gardeners' World innit... am a secret fan of House & Garden progs too... shh... how's the screen ban going btw, have managed to keep a half hour a day comp rule in this house for 6 months now using a little digital kitchen timer and I don't need to worry about enforcing it myself much as the kids police eachother like mad. Am planning to get out as much as poss with them but not always easy in this weather is it!?
Diege hope you have happy hols and that L leaves her famous screech at home.
Beks, wow, your social life sounds like it's taken off, good for you!
Nova, great pics, what a gorgeous pair! Lol at "think Noo's hair is shrinking", no signs of Baby's receders filling in it only seems to get longer on the top and at the back..... erm did someone say mullet?
Right, Hi to BB- yes hope you're alright and not flooding- , GG, L&S, Twinkle, Bob, and all.
Oh no, Baby refusing to wear a nappy a lot and am having to put pants over the top to please her but mostly watching a bare bottom wobbling about the place and having to clear up 'emissions' but is interesting how little she goes only twice in the 2 hours nappy has been off.... have brought the potty downstairs in a faintly hopeful way.
Bye all.

Rodeo · 23/07/2007 21:31

Evening
Hope nobody is affected by the flooding (Brownie are you ok?!) Will this rain never end?!!
I have managed with the TV restrictions, though dp is failing to instill it Took the kids to help me muck out this afternoon so they got 'exercised', I feel this is 'the key' to calmness in the house [where is the 'huh, early days yet luv' sceptical face?] Worked today anyway!
Londoner, glad you're enjoying the hols and your babysitters! E's hair has really grown! She looks so grown up in the pics. Love the peek a boo picture, they're both so cute
Beks, not another night out til Christmas, ha, who you trying to kid ?
Hi Chacha/Nova, good luck with the weaning, not that you need it, you pair of pro's (professionals, not hookers). Any likes/dislikes yet? Views on babyrice? Can't remember if you are for or against - seem to recall we were pretty divided over it last time
Nova, lovely pics, as usual N makes me smile as her and J are really similar.
Bye for now, the sky has gone a funny pinky-grey, 'red sky at night' and all that, should be nice tomorrow, yay! x

Hello [waves]!

Yes - we are all now famous - having been on the news and everything!! Floods and rivers awash down here!! Although seem to be subsiding now, thank the lord!

Well, what a weekend - they closed the business park where I work on Friday, and sent everyone home from our HO too, as the roads were becoming impassible on Friday lunchtime! I got home ok, and my Dad picked up T fromt he nursery ok. DH had a slightly more difficult journey, not least because he chose to ignore my warnings, instead thinking that I was overreacting (have since gloated loads and told him that Brown Owl ALWAYS knows best! ) He did leave work early, but not early enough and got stranded in a village about 8 miles out of Stratford where he takes the lad home who is doing summer work in his office! He ended up leaving the car there and borrowing a push bike to cycle home.....he did get here in the end which was what counted.

Chacha - hope you manage to get home soon, although make the most of the rest I say!

Hope you's havin a fabbo holiday Diegey

Hop all of the little ones are doing well, and that the summer arrives soon!

Will toalk more another night - am shattered now, and still have half a glass of wine to finish!! It;s been a busy day today - but more of that tomorrow night, in the next installment!!!!
B
xx

novadandypowder · 24/07/2007 07:39

Rodeo - miniman seems to like apple and carrot but turned his nose up at pear, although I must confess they weren't the ripest so I may have to make another batch. I'm against baby rice, I think it tastes evil!

On the TV Brownie? I bet I've seen you!

Beksmum · 24/07/2007 09:14

Hi girls

BB sounds interesting will log in tonight for the next installment. Glad you haven't been too badly affectd though.

Nova what a pair of angels, miniman is just gorgeous he's one of those babies you just want to pick up and cuddle and munch. Noo is beautiful too, she looks so grown up.

Rodeo & Londoner well done for instilling computer bans - I on the other hand am encouraging B to go on as much as possible a) to keep his spelling up and b0 to give me a quiet life!

GG Any chance of a seasidemeet up while the kids are on holiday?

T is being a little monkey since B broke up from school and keeps saying to him "bubba school" and is far from impressed at having to share his mummy.

The sun is actually shining here at the moment so we're off to Xmas tree farm for the morning, so best get the monsters ready. Hope everyone is having a good hols Beks
