If I've managed to work this facebook lark out - I think it might be GGs birthday today - so Happy Birthday to YOU!
If I haven't worked it out properly then I have just made a festive arse of myself !

Well, still not got round to posting my SS gift yet - sorry to our receiver....., am off to Wellingborough for work tomorrow, so had to go and collect pool car today (on my day off!) and have a v early start tomorrow - have told them though, I need to be home by 5pm, so am leaving the HR woman to it ifwe haven't finished by the time I need to head off!

Not sure where Christmas came from, it has sort of crept up on me! Thomas is obsessed with Father Christmas, and is sooo depserate for his Kitchen!!!!! (thank goodness we have got it all squared away, on Father Christmas's behalf you understand! in the garage!)

Right, off to work what to wear for tomorros'ws training session!

Working from home tomorrow though (have dds nativities am/pm)so no excuse! Love to all, and will catch up properly tomorrow

GreedyGecko · 17/12/2007 23:10

Thanks BB, yes it si my birthday today, and thanks for the birthday wishes from others on FB (can't remember who .

Have to say worst birthday ever. Beat my 21st hands down. xp is a @*&%^. Have one card from my mum & dad, thats it. Nothing at all from boys. He's got such a split personality atm I can't stand it.

S had his op today, so obviously not the best thing to be happening on my birthday anyway, but he was amazing. My big, brave boy! He was so, so good. The nurses loved him, he made a new friend with the lad nex to him (he was about 10, and bless him, made me cry when he came out of theatre, he was wheeled in, and so dopey & disorientated & scared ). made me so glad I had S done now. We went through to theatre, he sat on my lap & nurse played with him. Anaesthatist gave him G&A, S took it, sucked on it so well, not bothered at all, then they took him, put him on trolley, I gave him a kiss, and went. He was only in for 20mins incl recovery and as it was G&A he was back to normal really quickly. They carried him back in too, not on trolley. Had some food & drink, threw a strop about the canular (sp?) in his foot, but we were home less than an hour after he cam eback to me. Now I feel like an evil, horrible mum for putting him through it though cos it looks horrible, its so red and swllen, nad wil get bruised from tomorrow, he's being dosed up on calpol & ibuprofen for 48hrs and I have a local anaesthetic cream. I know itll be better soon, and sooooo much better than waiting til he's older, but I still get a huge lump in my throat when I see it.

How are all the LOs now Diege and ChaCha?

Londoner, good to hear things have beeen sorted out.

nova, wow! almost a week waiting around for deliveries, how did you do it without gong completely bonkers?! Now everythings in when's the housewarming!

GreedyGecko · 18/12/2007 11:08

forgot to thank Santa for the pressies that arrived yesterday. Thank You.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 18/12/2007 11:13

Many happy belated birthday GG , and big hugs to you and S!!! Gosh what a brave boy (and mummy!)How are you feeling generally? This must be a tough time of the yera, although I can imagine you're feeling a certain sense of peace too. Have you got any concerts lined up to look forward to?
Oh no BEKS, the old pink eye - it's the pits Wishing you all a fast recovery. Glad the show went well, sounds fun! TWINKLE, lol at fish wife performance , you must be v.proud, though bet you're pleased the classes have stopped for now - snap here with ballet! P&T sound sounds great - I love black buggies - think they look really stylish. IF I ever have no.4 I'm hoping to get a black bugaboo, so will start saving...
BB, I feel tired just reading about your coming few days . Hopefully you'll get some respite after Friday? My last day is Thursday, so counting down!
Just returned from dd1's christmas nativity - really lovely, and have to admit I had to hold back a tear or two . I'm a bit about all the screaming babies in attendance - not that I'd ban them or anything, but is it too much to ask the parent to take them to the back of the hall/corridor if they start screaming incessantly? My pet hate I'm afriad - easy to say when I'm sitting smuggly on my own! .
Right, have to brave the dreaded crowds in town to get stuffed frog from Teddy Bear factory...then off up to school again for dd2's nativity!!
Hi NOVA, LONDONER, FH,RODEO and everyone else I've missed out!
diege x

ChaCha · 18/12/2007 17:05

Happy birthday GG - and what a brave boy you have there! Will you be doing anything over the holidays? Hope you have some special time for yourself lined up. Thank you for asking GG - taking DS2 to GP tomorrow morning - fingers crossed.

Beks - Oh no! How long does it last for generally? Hope it doesn't cause him much grief or you for that. Get better soon wee man!

BB - Busy, busy time ahead - hope you get some rest at weekend.

Twinkle - LOL at bucket, poor you. DS keeps reminding me that i've been sick 'sick mum, sick' and then tries to imitate me all part of the fun.

Great thing about Facebook is that i've just gotten in touch with my two friends from high school - so much to catch up with has been 16 years!!

Any ideas on a present for an 11 year old boy? And those of you who love bags - can anyone recommend a really large bag that will hold stuff for 3 little ones and mum. Ta x

Bekxmastreemum · 18/12/2007 19:53

Just a quickie as kids will be out of the bath soon,

GG sending hugs and kisses to S he sounds like he was a really brave boy and he obviously has a very brave mummy too. It's a really hard experiecnce to leave them in the operating theatre so my sympathies and well done you for coping so well.

Happy belated b'day by the way, shame on xp for being such a waste of space, hope you are going to get treated better at Xmas.

Love to all Beks

SiLondonerNight · 18/12/2007 21:05

Hi girls,
Sorry, only managed a bit of a skim read so apologies if I miss anything...
Belated Birthday Wishes to you GG, sorry to hear it was not so great, hear's to a fresh and happy new year ahead. So pleased to hear little S's op went well, good on you for just going for it, he'll be so much more comfortable in the long run as you say.
ChaCha, sorry to hear lo's so poorly and you being sick too, but lol at ds1 encouraging you and imitating you..... is it possible to vom and laugh simultaneously? I hope the ms passes over soon for you.x
Twinkle , love the judo story and well done on all that costume making for the school plays, did you get a mention after the performance? You certainly deserve a rosette imo. Poor you with the ms too, wonderful to hear you're managing to keep your sense of humour going what with stories of shopping with a bucket and all. Hope it passes quickly for you too.
Beks, hiya, can't believe you're managing to put on these fun days for kids, you're amazing! Well, actually, having met you a few times I can believe it. Hope the pink eye clears soon.
Hi Diege, congrats on the book, you're a genius. Did you say L is better? Hope so. Glad you managed to get out anyhow, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, as a mum you really have to fight for your space sometimes don't you!
Hi Nova, Hi BB, and L&S and all.
Sorry, have no time to update now, have prob gone on far too long already!
L.x

novadandypowder · 18/12/2007 21:44

Diege, I realised yesterday that there is something even more annoying than the kids being off nursery sick - DH being off work sick when the kids are at nursery! I had to kick him away from his computer game so I could catch up on my Home & Away fix before picking the kids up....grrrr....

GG, sending strength and best wishes your way. The long term benefits of his op will be worth it . Sorry xp is being a butt munch, but another reason to look forward to a new year and a new start.

Twinkle, my friend gets really bad ms and she told me a funny story of the time she went grocery shopping and had to throw up into a box of cornflakes she grabbed off the shelf, rather than embarrass herself vomming onto the floor . She did pay for them afterwards .

novadandypowder · 18/12/2007 21:51

Twinkle, I had a cocoon and found it quite useful for the first couple of months, but they are quite heavily padded so may not be the best if baby is due in July (that is of course if we actually get a summer next year ). They have a short 'useful' life so don't get a new one, unless it's cheap as chips, or unless you can be arsed to sell it afterwards. I don't have the P&T sleeping bags, I actually have Buggy Snuggles instead as I personally like them better.

SiLondonerNight · 18/12/2007 22:27

Nearly forgot, ChaCha, how about something like this or this or pretty much anything from this shop - I love it! Hth

..... oh and here's a free postage code for it: FP8906 Good luck!

GreedyGecko · 18/12/2007 23:09

Oh I love Hawkins Bazaar. Could spend a fortune in there.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 19/12/2007 18:32

Hello! Yah, secret santa sent off at last - NOVA, sympathies on the man-flu front (and no man-nursery available unfortuantely, unless you include the pub). Having a getting to bed nightmare, but will pop in later (wanted to get the post-natal posting off the '666' number)

twinkle1 · 19/12/2007 20:04

Diege "i wish" bedtime, one is at rainbow party and the other is at scouts Xfactor party!!! can i go to bed????? They have a far better social life than me
I have to be at the school swimming gala for 8.30am!!!!@3## grrrr in the morning with DS1 Till 11am does it really have to be this early???? ah well.....DH is away till Fri and the house is a pit never mind im reaching the dont care anymore stage i think it may be the hormones
Im eagrly awaiting my phil and ted ,Really need it as the pushchair im using to go back and forward to school is on its last legs but it is 9 yrs old.well must go DD1 is home and needs to be crow bared into bed
Twinkle

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 19/12/2007 21:33

Hi TWINKLE! I admire your stamina - wow, I don't think I could do what you do,and especially not when pregnant! Seriously, how do you manage with the sickness? I struggled to stand up and get out of bed with dds when having hyperemesis, and didn't leave the house for 6 weeks .
News of the day is that my hairdresser of 7 years rang me today to say she's going mobile! Anyone else have a mobile hairdresser? I have roots, highlight and a blowdry planned for Sunday, and was secretly looking forward to getting out of the house (and doing a smeaky bit of shopping too). Just wondering how they rinse off the gunk - is it a case of kneeling over the bath with the shower attachment?
Right, bath and bed now as have to be out by 6.30am , though it's my last day until the 7th .

LaylaandSethsmum · 19/12/2007 22:28

Hi everyone,

Glad to see its not just my DDs last week of term that it horrendously hectic. Shes getting fed up with it now though, I will be glad when school has finished, quite like having her at home.
It was the xmas disco tonight, the original school one planned for tonight was cancelled yesterday due to lack of ticket sales apparentlythe kids were so dissappointed and the parents were very so we all clubbed together and did our own disco in the village hall, it was a great evening so all in all, very pleased with the outcome.

Hopefully my secret santa recipient is now in possesion of their gift!!

Goods news on the P+T front Twinkle, I never used to like them but I do now I like the fact the newborn can lie flat. So....will this be your final one then ??

Glad the new house is geting sorted nova but totally agree on the man flu front, they are worse than kids for it!!

S isn't very well he has had a hacking cough for about 6 weeks now, it keeps him awake at night, I've been to the docs twice but they say its not on his chest just upper respiratory phlegm. Today he seems to have another virus of some sort, raging temp( quite usual for my kids) coughing lots of crying and wanting to be carried.Just hope he picks up for xmas.

Diege, mobile hairdressers use your shower to rinse off, if they are cutting they normally ask you to wash your hair just before they arrive to cut it. I had mine done today and now have a fringe!! Not had one of those for years, once I've got used to it and it starts feeling like less of a wig I think i'll like it!!

Anyway off now as work tomorrow but likel to be up all night xxxx

LaylaandSethsmum · 19/12/2007 22:30

OOh belated happy birthday GG did mean to post as I'd had my FB reminder!! Glad S is ok after his op, sure he'll be fighting fit really soon xx

feetheart · 19/12/2007 22:49

Just managed to get on here on DH's work laptop as my computer has decided to keel over - not terminal apparantly but as DH spends all day sorting out other people's IT mine won't get a look in until at least Christmas

GG - what a brave pair you are. I struggle when A falls to pieces when I tell him off (though he does it to DH a lot more, mummy's not often fierce!!) I really hope 2008 brings better things for you all.

Glad to hear most people are surviving the (children's) party season though I've huge respect for those doing it with a bucket in tow .
Hope all the poorly ones (adults and children) are feeling better soon. We have managed to get to the end of T's first term
with only 2 days off, hope it continues.

Interesting comments about cars/public transport though not surprising. I didn't learn to drive until my 30s and still choose to walk most of the time. Its only now that T is at a school where lots of people walk that I'm not regarded as a weirdo!

BEKS - LOL at 'Yuck eyes' That's one of A's favourite words though he tends to say 'yucky' and it often sounds pretty rude

If I don't get back on before I hope everyone has a great Christmas/holiday. We are off to N Ireland to my parents on Boxing Day until New Years Eve so Happy New Year as well.
Here's to 2008!!!

novadandypowder · 20/12/2007 10:47

Diege, my hairdresser came to the house last time, but I just got her to cut it and went to the salon she used to work at for the colour.

ChaCha · 20/12/2007 11:49

Good morning all

We have woken up to such cold this morning but the sun is shining and that is something! Is Eid here so spent the night decorating and wrapping pressies, DH got DS1 a lovely trike/bike and is over the moon with it, he has had a lovely morning - nothing compares to watching your child opening presents and seeing the excitement on their face..ahhh. Got DH some presents from the boys but guess who forgot mummy...LOL. Am therefore being taking out for lunch and am being given a night out on my own with my friend and a few others...hurray! Has been too long.

How are all the poorly LOs now? L&S - Hope he gets better soon, DS had a cough like that for ages too and then it just disappeared. Is DS2 who is unwell right now, teething unlike anything i had with DS1, he was in such pain throughout the night and didn't settle much at all.

Nova - had to LOL at your friend with the cereal box, a classic! Very considerate of her - was v.pleased when i had taken the boys out for lunch y'day that DS2 had been sick over the chair rather than over himself I did clean it up though - the wonders of wipes and nappy sacks!

Better go...ds2 in beks words in limpet mode x

Bekxmastreemum · 20/12/2007 17:19

Just a quickie as off out, to wish Chacha and her lovely family a happy Eid, glad to hear you are going to be spoiled you deserve it. Beks

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 21/12/2007 13:20

Happy EID CHACHA!!! Night away with the girls sounds brilliant - worth its weight in gold! A big thank you to those of you who have sent us cards - I am officially rubbish at card sending, so apologies! Hopefully my secret santa has arrived by now though . Right, bets go, loads to do

novadandypowder · 21/12/2007 13:39

Thank you secret santa, noos gift arrived today

I'm officially no longer on speaking terms with DH! I'd been wracking my brain trying to think of something to get him for christmas, as he is a VERY difficult person to buy for. I finally struck on what I thought was a great idea and ordered it online. It arrived yesterday. DH comes in from shopping with a carrier bag from the same store. He has bought nearly identical items. I was very . He always does this, why would you go shopping 5 days before christmas??????!!!!! So now my surprise is spoiled - boo.
