GreedyGecko · 24/11/2007 22:33

Congratulations Twinkle. So pleased for you.

I'm actually getting quite broody when I see tiny little boys. good timing eh!

Happy birthday for T tomorrow. Sounds wonderful having such a houseful BB.

Rodeo must be around somewhere as she added me on facebook recently.

Am happy here as I have booked tickets to see the foo fighters & girls aloud next year. A bit of a contrast in musical genres, but I'm so glad I got the foos ones.

Beksmum · 24/11/2007 22:44

Yay Congratulations Twinkle what fantastic news, looking forward to a bit of virtual bump rubbing too. My hubby thinks you're mad by the way!!!

My best friend is due in June so hopefully you two & my new goddaughter will stop be getting so broody. Apparently I'll need a new husband before I get another baby {grin]

Nova glad to hear the house is coming on well, perhaps in the summer we can meet up down on the coast.

BB Happy 2nd Birthday T, hope you have a great birthday little man. Glad you had a fun party.

Chacha & BB T loves his kitchen too my sil has bought him a microwave to go with it for xmas from Mothercare.

Right better give the pc back to my dh as I was only supposed to be logging on to see f my brother was on line, congrats again Twinkle Beks

Londoner · 24/11/2007 23:49

Hello everyone,

Wow, congratulations Twinkle, what wonderful news, hang in there with the sickness & tiredness. Have you tried sniffing lemons....?
Happy Birthday for tomorrow BB's T!
ChaCha, what a relief you're home at last - you were ages! Am glad it went well for you and impressed like the others, and hope you & your dh manage to make a decision on where to next without too much compromise on either side, sounds exciting but tough.
Hi Beks, big congrats on the magic show, wow!
Nova, so glad Noo's arm is okay, that must have been horrible. Exciting to hear all about the holiday house though!
Diege HI!
Hi GG!
Hi BB!
Hi Rodeo!
Bye.

Diege · 26/11/2007 06:52

Morning! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm feeling much better, and have a 'working from home' today. DH left for Gloucester (back Tues eve) so it's the usual mad dash to school then nursery! Away at the end of week with work, so needing to cram in the prep today - must get disciplined with this whole working from home business, though there's nothing like 3pm school pick-up to structure the day!
Hope you're feeling OK this morning TWINKLE - remember how awful and debilitating the sickness is . Do you have a due date worked out by the way? (of course you do!!!)

twinkle1 · 26/11/2007 09:18

Morning Diege,Glad you are feeling better
Im due 24th July but will be C/sectioned around the 10th
twinkle

Diege · 26/11/2007 10:24

Ooh, lovely time of year to have a baby Hopefully me or Brownie will have a bfp by then, so you can pass the baton on!
Right, MUST get some work done...just can't seem to conjure up the enthusiasm to write a lecture on Blair and Third Way politics...I wonder why

twinkle1 · 26/11/2007 12:14

Diege, when are you starting to try for number 4???? would like a pregnancy pal Did you have scarlett in JULY?????
Must do some house work, but im due at work in 15 mins oh well!! Have to say can see why enthusiasm is lacking for a blair lecture but at least you do your lectures!!! At the min DH is doing his MSc and the teacher cant be arsed to come in and teach and is useless DH knows more than him Right must go and get ready
twinkle

Diege · 26/11/2007 13:02

Hi again! Lecture finished, but just need to put on powerpoint. Must get done before school run as have promised girls trip to cafe for drinks and cream cakes! TWINKLE, yep, chatted to dh about ttc last night (on his promoting). Seems like it will be April ish, though bear in mind it took 5 months for L, so could still be here this time next year! I'll try my best for you though Twinkle! Jasmine (dd1) was born 27th July - remember it being a very hot summer that year (it was hotest day of year on the 27th, and hossy had radiators on ), and of putting dd in a little romper suit just on a sheet in her pram it was so hot...ahh happy days . Hope work goes ok and grrr for dh - does his lecturer dump the lot on-line rather than face to face, or just abandon him altogether?
Diege x

ChaCha · 27/11/2007 10:48

Morning all,

Diege - You are sooooo busy, how do you fit it all in? Am baffled! Lecture sounds interesting..way above my head but interesting. Did it take you long to complete? Am sure DDs will be looking fwd to their treat, is a lovely way to end the school day

Twinkle - Hope you're not suffering with the m/s too much. Can't remember how old your oldest DC is but hopefully someone in the household is providing you with some TLC or the odd ginger snap/glass of water. Think July is lovely, both mine born in winter, would love a summer baby.

Beks - LOL at excuses made to have a quick catch up, done that many a time!

Londoner - Great to see you! How is everything with you? What's your news as of late?

GG - Great news about your tickets. Something to look fwd to. Do hope Rodeo is around and okay.

Quiet day at home here, we went up Northish to visit some friends last night and did not return home till 1.30am so looking forward to a nap later in the afternoon. Taking them out would mean that DS2 sleeps in pram refusing afternoon nap at home. Best to keep them both home to ensure a bit of shut eye. All of sudden DS1 is saying lots of new words, it's just happened out of the blue..my favourite is spider, shampoo and bampi (grandad in welsh) At last...speech!

Have a good day all.

novadandypowder · 27/11/2007 14:40

Right, funny things Chacha..

Miniman whipping his nappy off in 5 seconds - noo still can't do it!!

noo playing her cd's at 7am yesterday morning - this had me sniggering anyway as DH was still in bed and the cd player is on the other side of the wall, but then noo turned it up to full volume . Nothing like being woken up by 'there's a worm at the bottom of my garden, and his name is wiggly woo...'

noo shouting 'NO' as she pulls a toy away from miniman, then immediately following it with 'share'

miniman firmly clamping his mouth shut if he's decided he doesn't want what I'm trying to feed him and then throwing the (full) spoon across the room.

noo and miniman playing peek-a-boo together

noo and miniman 'playing' wrestling (sure it will end in tears one day....)

noo's love of drawing all over herself (and me on occasion...)

miniman grinning with his one little tooth sticking out.

I'm sure there are more, I find myself laughing every day....

Diege · 27/11/2007 16:48

Lol CHACHA at 'speech at last'. I know exactly what you mean, though we're still really waiting for anything more complex than 'my daddy' and 'my chair' . Good to hear from you NOVA . Lol at the cd playing Love the quick switch to 'share' too .
OK, slight dilemma here girls that you might be able to help me with...
A while ago, before I got my new job, I applied for a post with the Open University, supervising post-grads work on a new course. It would be about 3 hours a week at home, so would fit into the time I have free, in addition to my present job. Now, they rang me last night asking me to come to an interview, and while I would usually be delighted was in 2 minds about it. For a start it's hard to get to on public transport (the interview). It's L's day at home and it would be a faff to swop it around. My head says YES!!! Great uni to be involved with - good people too from what I hear; quite prestigious; another feather in my cap etc etc...but my heart say no!!! No more!!!! I'm already knackered, plus just won a bid to do research with midwives here, have conferences booked, and will be doing the a-level marking again in addition to everything else...but it's such an honour to even get an interview (people wait a lifetime)... I'm basically trying to justify ringing the woman up and saying nno I can't make the interview...but what if I regret it?? Arghhh!! Someone tell me what I must do .
Right, going for my train!! Hope all are well - and that you are getting a chance to rest TWINKLE!!!

twinkle1 · 27/11/2007 18:28

Errr rest whats a rest still six angel costumes to make
Diege its wonderful but like me you also struggle with the NO word. you need a life, when all the kids are grown up you can be proffesor Diege, but wouldnt you end up frazzled and stressed with even more to do???? be kind to yourself
twinkle

novadandypowder · 27/11/2007 19:22

Diege - NOoooooooo!!!! there you go, decision made

Diege · 27/11/2007 19:42

Tee hee, yes, think you're both right. Just had an e-mail saying they can only offer me a 2pm slot, which is even worse, so fate seems to be stepping in. Oh and I've got promotion to associate prof after Xmas anyway TWINKLE , so don't have to wait on that . Good advice though...have to learn to say no...and you too!! Is there no chance of passing costumes on to some one else? I'm sure people would be sympathetic!

ChaCha · 28/11/2007 07:39

Nova How lovely! Glad you posted that - really made me smile.

  • I gave DS1 a sweet yesterday because he did something that deserved much praise (in my eyes anyway) but on taking the sweet he insisted that one be given to his little brother. I explained that he was too small and that he could have a breadstick instead. That did the job. He also points/grabs/holds DS2 whenever we say 'bedtime' 'bathtime' or DH plays rough with him - meaning DS2 must be part of it all or at least go first!!

Diege - Job oppportunity with OU sounds fantastic but as Twinkle said, leave a little time for you maybe.

Well the day has started here, not feeling great at all (AF i think) and could happily go back to bed with a book and be very, very lazy. No such luck eh?

Have a good day all.

novadandypowder · 28/11/2007 08:06

Remembered another chacha, I went to get noo up out of bed yesterday and as I was walking around her room pulling up the blind, and turning off the nightlights she was saying 'trousers, tousers' and then as I bent over to get her she said 'pretty'. I was however wearing very garish pyjamas at the time (they looked so much nicer in the packet!), but I appreciated the thought

Diege · 28/11/2007 09:25

Morning! Have had to admit defeat this morning, as crippled by migraine and nausea (af on its way I think). Called in sick for work, and they are v.understanding (unlike my last place when any announcement of sickness was met with a loud sigh and 'when d'you think you'll be better/letting the team down etc...). Still feeling a bit guilty about not going for the OU interview, but it's done now so just have to live with that 'mistake' if that's what it turns out to be!
Loved the PJ story NOVA . Do those of you with dds dfind that they pick out the most horrendous items in the shop to coo over? (horrendous as in lady of the night horrendous ). DD2 is always drawn to anything with a leopard skin print/lurex/silver wrapping paper material!!
Right, going to indulge myself in morning telly!

Diege · 28/11/2007 09:27

Meant to say 'hi' CHACHA - hope you're feeling OK - seems like we have the same thing! Although unlike you I can doss for a bit with a book

Beksmum · 28/11/2007 14:17

Hi girls

Loving the cute antics of the lo's at the moment. T was funny yesterday as he now insists on walking everywhere so was holding my finger and pretending to pull it off and howling with laughter then I said he'd pulled them all off and closed up my fingers in a fist and he said "oh no" and started walking back to find them, then when I opened my fingers again he was saying "oh no - stick, stick"

Chacha it's really cute when the two boys want to be together isn't it, T always runs up to B in the playground and gives him a big hug and says "hello bubby"

Hope you and Diege are feeling better soon.

Londoner thanks for the congrats, always available for hire at mates rates of course!!!

Nova you're good at dance aren't you. Any suggestions on how I put a pom pom routine together for 18 five year old girls?

Right it's suspiciously quiet in here better go and see what T is up too.

Is anyone else putting their christmas trees up on Saturday or anm I the only nutter?

Hi to all Beks

twinkle1 · 28/11/2007 14:21

No Beks you are not the only nutter kids and DH all gagging to festively bling the house

Still making angel costumes grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
twinkle

ChaCha · 28/11/2007 17:23

Diege - Well my love, make the most of it, cause if you're TTC next year you'll soon be back to square one He he!! Nah, only kidding, getting my own back, hope you got some rest. I took a couple of painkillers and headed to the shopping centre, spent all my advantage points on ME and bought some pressies, then tired them out a rhyme time and park, our Big Eid is a few days before Christmas so also decorating house and present buying. Ethel Austin were selling gift boxes for as little as £8.

Nova - that is so cute!!

Beks - LOL, well that's great festive spirit! If you can't beat em... and ROFL at T and fingers episode and 'oh no' DS1 says that all the time too which is good, when either of them drops anything from pram i know as he starts saying 'oh no' like a broken record until i look and see what the panic is.

DS1 is still sleeping upstairs Took him up at 3pm after he decided jumping on glass table would be good fun and pouncing on DS2 from height also very good fun - hate it when he gets tired, is like thing possessed. DS2 sleeping here on sofa, he plays on own for hours and follows me around, finally cries and tries to grab me and sleeps! Such a happy chappy at times.

Turned into a big of an old waffle eh? Will go and cook now and look busy.

p.s Who is on Facebook then?
