Thanks Londoner, I won't get on on that day either as won't be near the pc. Am madly busy cleaning the house and preparing for the party on Sunday, so really shouldn't be on here. Hope you are all well and now I'd better get back to it.

Love to all Beks

Londoner · 18/10/2007 20:05

Beks, eeeeeeeeasy girl, don't run those batteries down all in one go.
Found this on MN and thought I'd put a link in case you hadn't all seen it, great for me as mine had just run out.
family railcard for a tenner

Hi girls,

We made it to the end of 1st half term, Yaaaaaaaaay! Happy holidays all. Hope you all enjoy the rest of this lovely October, I've just ordered one of these for Baby's birthday, shhhhhhh, can't wait, she'll be so thrilled - she's always trying to make off with everyone else's at the playground lol. She'll be bowled over, oh no, what am I letting myself in for ?

Love to all, byeee! x

Londoner · 19/10/2007 18:13

Hello, me again. Meant to say, Beks, hope you have a fantastic party on Sunday, you sound like you've planned well and you're not on here so I think you're flying round that house in preparation, hope you all have a ball.

...oops and again. This is me, shutting up now.x

GreedyGecko · 22/10/2007 13:56

Hey all, Disney on Ice tomorrow. Looking forward to it, although I'm sure ~I will get really annoyed with dp refusing to get on a tube. He'll go on the Merseyrail but won't go on London Underground.

Beksmum · 22/10/2007 22:27

Hi ladies

Cor it's quiet on here, except for Londoner that is, hope everyone is ok.

Thaks for your good wishes Londoner, E's present looks fab, T will be after it if you bring it to the park next time.

Party went fantastically well, it was great to see our friends from Leeds who we haven't seen in 5 years, and all the kids got on famously, so much so that B cried his eyes out when they got on the train at Kings Cross today. T has already been incredibly spoilt and is going around pointing at his new toys and saying "mine" with a big smile on his face.

Nova hope you are ok and that Noo's b'day went well, hope the family dynamics aren't causing you too much stress.

GG hope you had a fab time at Disney on Ice, let us know what the boys think of it.

Advice needed please, has any one had to deal with Croup, T is suffering with it at the moment and I'm not sure what to do for him, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Right hope everyone has a great half term, I am going to hit the hay as am absolutely shatterd. Will try to post tomorrow but if not I'll catch up with you all next week. Beks

feetheart · 22/10/2007 22:35

Oh Londoner, I've been all over T'internet tonight looking for something similar for A. I really should have checked here first
Will show DH tomorrow and then order the blue version methinks. Really, REALLY want to avoid Thomas/Bob/whatever is latest 'boys' fad. Would rather avoid blue as well but don't think I can get away with that

Hope you had a great party BEKS/T I haven't forgotten about the games, I'm just rubbish at doing things!! I WILL get them to you soon, I promise

Enjoy Disney tomorrow GG.

Hello everyone else.

BrownieBells · 23/10/2007 22:21

Hello all, just a quick post from me ~ Happy Birthday to all those with 2nd Birthdays. around now,and those I've already missed

Beks - my T had bad croup when he was about 3 months - nasty business, ended up at A&E with him, and he had some medicine which seemed to help (no idea what it was tho, sorry, but he only had 2 doses, 12 hours apart) Ended up getting a humidifier from Argos to fill his room with steam, which did help a little - steam definitely helps, as does taking them outside in the cold crisp air (bizarrely) - anyway, love and hugs to you, as it can be quite a scary time.....

Noo -hope all is well with you guys, and that everything sorted itself with the family situation - hugs to you aswell.

Right, DH wants pc back - so will try and get on again tomorrow when he's out!

Lvoe to all, don't thinkI've missed any more birthdays have I? gosh I'm rubbish!

Brownie

Diege · 24/10/2007 09:28

Hello!! Just a quickie from work to let you know I'm still alive!! Have had a few problems 'getting onto' mumsnet the last few days, but jusy generally snowed under with life . Think I underestimated the shock to the system that is a new job, lol!!
Right, best go and teach my class, but will try and read through soon!! Love to all x

Diege · 26/10/2007 13:57

Arghh!! Lost the thread panic panic until I realised the new format starts 'wrong end uo' . I'm off to York for the weekend, with dh at home with the dds, yah!!! Are you yet? . I do have the penance of enduring Gulliver's World Spooktacular on Sunday afternoon..but until then I am free!!!!!

ChaCha · 26/10/2007 19:13

Hey guys, hope all okay. Happy birthday to all our little 2 year olds... Happy Birthday

Beks - Sending hugs to B, not long to go i think till op - give him our love We have another few weeks out here, is a nice quiet day today and have had time online - boys both asleep and pleased to say there is a wonderful breeze after a very hot day. Air condition can get a bit much after a while.

Love to all xxx

GreedyGecko · 27/10/2007 11:00

Happy Birthday for yesterday T. Hope you had a great day.

Not sure about this new format, don't like it opening from the beginning, very confusing.

The boys loved Disney on Ice. S was clapping & shouting all the way through, and O is already asking to go again next year. Very impressed with the o2, and yes, I did manage to coax dp onto the tube!

LaylaandSethsmum · 27/10/2007 22:55

Hi

Hope T had a lovely birthday yesterday Beks, what did you get him in the end?
GG, Disney On Ice! DD would love that but i've never got round to organising it she would really love Disney world but don't know if that'll ever happen!

Is Chacha back yet? Hope you had a fab time and a very belated Eid Mubarak to you and yours!!

Londoner are you ready for monday? Are you having a party? Its S birthday tues, we are just having a tea party in the evening with a few friends and family, hes getting excited now but thinks he's going to be 6 not 2!

Feetheart, know what you mean about the typical boys toys but S is obsessed with Bob absolutely loves him, so we've sucummed and bought the figures and vehicles for his birthday.

Diege, Spooktacular hey? Enjoy! we wnt a few weeks ago and DD wanted to come back for that but unfortunately DH is on lates!!

Feeliong a bit sorry for myself has a tooth out on tuesday and its still a bit niggly, i am paranoid about loosing the clot/debris that is in the hole and getting dry socket which i've heard is terribly painful! Woe is me!!

Hi to everyone else!!

PS Rodeo, Londoner , Diege and sent a message to you on Facebook for you to add me as a friend( If you want to ), I'mthe dark haired glamour puss!!(Not)xxx

novadandypowder · 28/10/2007 19:49

Phew, I've managed to make my MN go back to how it used to be - I don't like change!

So a brief rundown of life in the nova house:
sort out grandads funeral using children as bait
miniman gets gastro night before funeral, the plan goes wrong!
nova goes to funeral by herself, has arguement with dad, bonds with sister and crys
noo has a fabulous birthday party
two days later noo is ill
two days later nova is ill
three days later miniman is in hospital with a chest infection
three days later novas DH is ill

I've had no time to myself for weeks, but at last everyone is well and the kids are back at nursery next week so it should calm down a bit. On the plus side we've started buying furniture for the new house, which we get into on 30th nov .

Happy Birthday to our terrific two year olds.

Lovely to see you pop in Chacha, I guess your time away is treating you well.

A very belated thank you to Beks for the perfect gift you sent to noo. It was very kind and exactly the kind of thing she plays with every day.

Will hopefully be able to post properly now x

LaylaandSethsmum · 28/10/2007 23:19

Hi Nova
Sounds like a nightmare few weeks but at least things seem to be settling down now!
Is the new house the one on the coast? Lucky you, will you be spending christmas down there?

Glad Noo had a fab birthday, what did you do for her party? Was it Gymboree or did I imagine that?!

Poor DS being in hospital, its horrid isn't it? Hope hes better now. Is he going to nursery full time now or do they both go on certain days?

I've been out tonight when I really shouldn't have as i'm supposed to be doing the mummy thing and baking a bob cake for S birthday! Will have to wait until tomorrow now though!!xx

Beksmum · 29/10/2007 09:37

Morning ladies

Just a quickie to say a Very Happy Birthday to Elizabeth hope you have a fantastic day sweetheart

Nova good to see you post, sounds like you've had a nightmare couple of weeks. Hope you're all feeling better now.

Got to go, WW3 breaking out, speak soon Beks

GreedyGecko · 29/10/2007 12:44

Happy Birthday little Londoner, Hope you have a great day, I'm sure you're having a fun time on your new scooter!

LaylaandSethsmum · 29/10/2007 14:38

Happy Birthday Elizabeth! Hope you've had a lovely day in the Londoner house. xx

novadandypowder · 29/10/2007 19:47

Happy Birthday to Londoners 'baby'

L&SM, it is our house on the coast that we're starting to furnish. We've exchanged contracts but don't finalise until 30th nov, so we're pre-ordering a lot of stuff to be delivered on 1st dec - we'll be spending the evening of 30th on airbeds with no furniture! It's so much fun doing all the shopping, we've got bunk beds for the kids rooms in anticipation for all the future guests we'll be having.

Noo had her birthday at gymboree and it was fab. I was going to bake a cake but with gastro tearing through the house I thought it best and easier to buy one from M&S . This website is brilliant for getting all the bits and pieces for a themed party.

Miniman goes to nursery two mornings and two afternoons a week, so I get two mornings off (although I have to take noo to her swim class on one of them) and two afternoons just with noo. It works out pretty well for us, mucho respect to those who stay at home all day every day with their kids as I really need that break from them.

The only problem at the mo is that minimans illnesses have set him back in feeding and sleeping which is a real bugger! Had just got used to having my nights back and now he's back to two bottles during the night.

feetheart · 29/10/2007 20:57

Rats, I've messed up again

Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY T, hope you all had a wonderful day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY, hope you are having a wonderful day

Ok that's 2 out of 4 I've managed to be late for so far, any bets on how many more

Londoner - how was the reaction to the present? Ordered the blue one today and I know its going to be a HUGE hit. Just slightly concerned that once he gets the hang of it my running skills will be shown up for what they are - hopeless!!

L&S - lovely to see you post. Huge sympathy on the tooth - brandy is good for killing germs isn't it?

Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow too, I'll try and get on-line and do a proper thing tomorrow!

Its not so much the boys toys that I have a problem with we have lots of the Bob stuff (and cars and diggers and tractors etc) and A loves it so I'm sure S will too I just object to how 'they' try to define everything as 'boys' (ie blue/Bob/Thomas/Disney Cars) and 'girls' (ie pink and sparkly/s*dding Disney Princesses/evil posessed-looking Brats) Better stop as I may be ranting

Nova - lovely to hear from you too - what a horrible few weeks though glad you are all on the mend from yucky bugs. I seem to remember T's sleep etc going to pot after something similar, hope it sorts itself out soon. We were kicked back into the reality of sleep deprivation a couple of weeks ago when A decided to get his canine teeth and molars all at once - very inconsiderate all around
Planning for the new house sounds brilliant.

ChaCha - good to see you pop in and that things are going well. Still very curious as to where you are but I'm just nosy!

GG - glad the London trip went well, sounds fantastic, and well done on getting DP on the Underground.

Better disappear and do ironing/shoe-cleaning/etc for school tomorrow.

Love to all I haven't mentioned, I haven't forgotten you really!

Londoner · 30/10/2007 08:33

Hello all

All is utter rush and madness here and I am completely thrown by this site now!
Thank you so much to everyone for Baby's b.day wishes she had a BALL and loves her scooter and can do it properly already... oh-oh!
Happy Birthday L&S's S! Hope you all have a wonderful day today.
Will catch up soon, love to everyone!xx

Beksmum · 30/10/2007 12:37

Just a quickie

To wish S a Very Happy 2nd *Birthday, hope you have a great day little man and hope mummy is going to post pictures of your cake.

Love to all Beks
