hello everyone. so much to keep up with! welcome back calm. i drove into my friend's bumper the other day . Dont worry...

Neck still sore here so waiting for the post and my hipseat

DD2 is trying to mobile but much prefers sitting so I think she may be a bum shuffler. DD1 was very much a crawler but I see so many differences.

I said to a friend the other day. What is lovely this time around is that they are still amazing! With 1st child everything they do is fabulous and you half expect it wont be 2nd time, but actually I am noticing all of their differences and revelling in those! Does that make sense to those of you with more than one?

magnolia1 · 05/07/2007 10:41

Sorry Ladies, Family Drama here so I am not posting much. Will catch up soon xxxx

babypowder · 05/07/2007 12:43

Magnolia, hope the drama doesn't become a crisis.

Olihan · 05/07/2007 13:20

Hello, Calm! Great to see you again. Don't worry about the car, it'll fix!

WB, I know exactly what point you are at with the sleeping. I'm actually dangerously tired now - took ds1 to the hosp this morning and nodded off for a split second while I was driving . It's only a 20 minute trip but I was really struggling to stay awake. Last night was a shocker again, ds2 was up every hour then woke for the day at 4:45, closely followed at 5:05 by ds1. They both seem to be in a cycle of waking at 5am, why they can't copy dd who will happily snooze until 7:30 I don't know!

I've been expressing madly all week so dh can do all the overnight wakings on sat night. I plan to go to bed when the dcs do and stay there until lunchtime the following day, or longer!

GS, ordered my Hipseat, let me know how you get on with yours, I'm hoping mine will arrive Monday so we can swap tips.

Jabber, ds2 is looking as if he's getting ready to crawl. He goes from sitting to hands and knees, wobbles a bit then collapses on his tummy! I'm hoping it takes him a long time to get sufficient strength in his arms - crawling before 7 months is not in my game plan . Ds1 and dd both did it the day they turned 8 months, rather strangely. Hopefully ds2 will follow suit!

Margo, congrats on the new niece/nephew to be. My sister and her dp are ttc so I'm hoping for similar news in the not too distant future.

Magnolia, hope things aren't too stressful at home, you know where we are if you need to offload.

Elibean · 05/07/2007 13:57

omg, sooo behind again, not a hope of catching up

Nothing spectacular here, just colds again and end of term things and trying to find a school for dd1 etc....

Castles, big hugs and if you need any help trying to find a childminder/help perhaps I can help?? Not sure how, as a sounding board maybe?? Or pass on useful places to look? I have normal to high bp, but even I get dizzy early in the mornings when its low...can't imagine how that must be for you, horrible; does eating something before getting out of bed help, bit like being pg?

Calm, good to see you! I'm glad yo'ure in one piece, and undented, far more important than the car though I would have been pissed off too...am also constantly misjudging things/having minor accidents due to tiredness.

Jabber, congrats on the Real Nappies - I still have precisely three and am waiting for a break in the viral onslaught to worry about it. Bad.

Hope everyone's well...v impressed at all the almost-crawling thats going on (not , have to admit!) dd2 is able to sit unaided now, but still keels over within a minute as she will keep stretching too far to grab things

Not a crawl in sight - far too interested in standing up

jabberwocky · 05/07/2007 14:39

eli - don't congratulate me yet I've still to see if I will really use the, lol.

castles and olihan - having your dh take over for a night does help a lot. Mine did it for a weekend a while back and I felt like a new woman. Of course, all that's worn off now...I think we may be due for another nighttime switch

jabberwocky · 05/07/2007 14:39

use "them"

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 05/07/2007 22:38

I've added more pictures on my profile

If you can't see them, let me know and I will add you to my mates list

Olihan · 06/07/2007 07:03

ah, Margo, they're so cute! Is dd2 a red head or is it the light in the pictures? My ds2 is a red head, he's got a throwback gene from my aunt as dh and I are both mousy. It's gorgeous though. Updating my pics is on my to do list, will do it later, once I've downloaded them off the camera!

babypowder · 06/07/2007 08:52

Margo, they are gorgeous!

GlassSlipper · 06/07/2007 10:10

lovely pictures margo. must update mine.

hippychick hipseat just arrived so i'll try out over the weekend and report back

jabberwocky · 06/07/2007 11:44

Love the pictures margo. I must sit down one day and get my pictures set up

magnolia - hope everything is going okay. Things have improved dramatically in the jabber household so hope springs eternal for all

SachaF · 06/07/2007 12:55

Very sweet Margo

I wonder if the red headness is a Christmas thing - mine is 'auburn' too - skipped 2 generations!

weirdbird · 06/07/2007 13:19

Ohh please add me, Can only see the 1 and your namesake

Think I am going to have to go to the doctors, am still not feeling right and eating makes me feel sick, so am wondering if my hernia is acting up, also feel dizzy all week and have lost a silly amount of weight over the last 2 weeks. hhmmmmm

Magnolia really hope things have settled down! Saw a post elsewhere, not suprised you dont have time to chat!!

BP hope you got your ebay account sorted, what a nightmare!

I need to sign up to ebay aholics annonymous, really must STOP spending money on there!!!

OP posts:
babypowder · 06/07/2007 15:10

Thanks, WB. We seem to be trapped in an identity theft nightmare just now We've got the police coming round tonight. It all just makes me so cross.

Sorry you're still not right. Hope the doc can sort it out once and for all.

Magnolia, hope things are OK. Lots of hugs for you.

Isn't it quiet without Indith around (we miss you really!) If you do manage to drop in, hope everything is going well.

GlassSlipper · 06/07/2007 16:55

BP - what a nightmare!
Magnolia - not sure of the problem but hope things get better soon.

My hippychick is great. It's improved my posture and my neck isnt aching at all. DD2 things she's in heaven as she's been carried around much more than normal today

Olihan · 06/07/2007 20:27

BP, how awful, has someone stared applying for credit, etc in your names, as well as the ebay stuff? I hope the police can help.

GS, glad the hippychick is good, can't wait for mine now. My back's alright but my arm and wrist really hurt from holding him at a strange angle all the time.

Well, a minor miracle occurred in the Olihan household tonight. Got ds2 ready for bed as usual, gave him his usual bf then ds1 and dd started fighting downstairs so I put ds2 in his cot and went to see what they were up to. Then....................nothing, not a peep from him. He went to sleep, in his cot, all by himself . First time ever. He may never do it again but he can do it. No patting, cuddling, rocking, just nodding off in his cot. Maybe he will sleep through tonight .

GlassSlipper · 06/07/2007 20:41

Yay Olihan - that's great. My DD2 has done the same the last few nights too....long may it continue.

Elibean · 06/07/2007 21:54

BP omg, poor you, nightmare indeed. Are the police handling it well? ie reassuringly? I know someone else this happened to, got sorted fairly fast, really hope the same for you. Must be a particularly nasty feeling

Oli, am in the same Cuckoo land as you, after dd2 went to sleep sweetly in cot (admittedly sleepy after being cuddled, but not asleep IYKWIM) all on her own tonight. AND yelped a few times during the evening, then settled herself again without me running up the stairs. Oh please, please, let this be a better night...just had two 2-3 hourly ones again, am shattered.

I'm beginning to think I should ask for help or just reasssurance on the weaning thread. Its sooo hard not to compare dd2 to dd1, who loved finger foods from teh beginning, never choked, never gagged, never threw up. This little bean has days on end where she'll eat nought but milk, then of course be hungry all night long

Elibean · 06/07/2007 21:56

((WB)) do go to the docs. I had the same about six months after dd1, and thats when my hernia was diagnosed - and I've noticed the heartburn coming back again recently. Feeling sick at night, too - but suspect bar of G&B before bed not helping

accessorizewithbabysick · 06/07/2007 22:30

Oh, sleep vibes needed tonight I think - is it too late! I've been sprinting around packing and making lists etc, dp just said 'looking like it's all sorted then, dear'. He's sat on his arse all night watching a dvd. Hmmm. Had worked hard all week. Whereas I sit on the sofa all week eating ben n jerrys!
WB, that doesn't sound good, I join eli in urging you to get to the dr's!
BP, how stressful, what a completely nightmare, must be really serious if police round. Hope it's sorted soon!
On the continuing baby wearing saga, carried ds2 around today in the ergo (on my back, only took 20 minutes to get him into it...) whilst I put out the washing etc. Not a peep! I do fancy a mei tei though (the sling, not the drink!), might join indith in downloading there.
Margo, lovin the photos! You inspired me to update mine too. DS2 who's 7 months today, has now got a kiss-curl, so sweet! And a hint of ginger

accessorizewithbabysick · 06/07/2007 22:34

Eli are you just doing blw or purees or a combo of both? I've seen a big difference between my 2 as well (impossible not to compare). Are you still bf & expressing or have you scaled back?

magnolia1 · 06/07/2007 22:54

Hi Ladies,
Just a quick pop in to say hi

Problems with my sister, alcohol, possible drugs, breakdown and an 8 year old neice suffering because of it

Ho hum, families eh!?

Ds1 still not sleeping well. Tried everything and nothing working. Have a travel cot set up every night now in case he is really bad, dh needs sleep to function at work.

Have fed the poor boy more than me tonight in the hope it's a hunger thing

Sorry I can't remember half of the posts I just read

Congrats Margo on your sisters Pg xx

Welcome back Calm xx

Bp, hope you get the ebay/identity theft sorted, sounds awful xx

accessorizewithbabysick (i never know how to shorten that!) Why are you packing where you going??
