March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

Glad Elsie is a bit perkier

Tranny I love that wallpaper - very delicate and that blue is nice

Eids sorry to hear about your DH's tum!

muppethasakitten · 24/06/2007 18:45

diva - so sorry for you about your nan. I can't remember if she is a long way from you or not... hugs to you

kittywits · 24/06/2007 20:24

Eids, what a miserable time you've been having. Hopefully your dp will be well enough soon to go out and celebrate his birthday properly.

Tranny, I like that wallpaper too. I like the colours, very calming.

Diva, how is Elsie doing this evening?

divastrop · 24/06/2007 20:58

muppet-yes,my nan lived in dagenham.im getting worried about going down there for the funeral now,for various reasons

kitty-she has taken more milk today but not without 15 mins of screaming before starting to suck.she is bunged up again and is back to grabbing her ear when she tries to feed,so i think the ear infection didnt clear up properly or shes coming down with another cold.poor little thing.

i think im going to spend the entire evening reading the bum sex thread to take my mind off things

foxcub · 24/06/2007 21:03

Is that bum sex still going on?

TransfiguratingLily · 24/06/2007 21:17

Diva the bottom operation thread was so funny! You and Dior were brilliantly supportive on that depressed thread, I was full of admiration.

Where's the bum sex thread

morocco · 24/06/2007 22:05

so sorry to hear about your nan, diva, sending you a big (((((((cyber hug )))))))

Piffle · 24/06/2007 22:20

Hello everyone hope all had nice weekends

Well Finn of course still being textbook happy baby - I am blessed I think. I've finally got off my ass and put up some new pics of the wee fella on my profile.
Diva how is Elsie she sounds a little better hopefully?

Fox yes me feeding my whole family - I think my 13 yr old ds might take exception

Mossy you are sounding fab! Sounds like Bertie is turning the corner finally or maybe you're just coping better now that dh is on your side?

Lily that wallpaper is lovely
Our house is ugly and new and you cannot decorate it in anything that does not sound like "aqua delight" or "cocoa lust" "raspberry brulee"
GRRRRRR

Bum sex, I'm not sure I can even be enthusiastic about regular sausage tbh...
I have an opinion on bumsex especially formed from the fact of piles. So not something I'll be dabbling in I'm afraid.
Dare not enter that thread neither...

On that note, must dash ironing calls

Piffle · 24/06/2007 22:21

Diva so sorry about your nan too Sorry I missed that earlier xxxxxxxx

eidsvold · 24/06/2007 23:00

wow - we had a bit of a night last night - about 8pm - cue knocking on our front door - open it to find a police officer - as you can imagine all sorts of things go through your head.

Turns out my lovely neighbour had passed away - sometime on Friday they think. They came over to find out when we last saw her so they can ascertain exactly when she passed away.

She was elderly and lived alone. Both the other side neighbour and us kept an eye out for her but as it had been so cold recently I thought she had stayed in. The fact that dh and I did not go out at all on the weekend - even out the door due to his affliction etc - means we did not see her.

So she was a brilliant neighbour and very helpful when my ex-dh left. She always kept an eye out for me and then us.

she will be missed.

thank you everybody, for your sympathies.i hope i dont coma accross as cold hearted talking about funny threads etc,its just im trying to take my mind off things as i have to get on with it iyswim.

Mossy · 25/06/2007 07:44

Only a quick one because Bertie is having a wail...

Diva I'm glad Elsie is feeding again, I hope she continues to improve.

Eids I'm sorry to hear about your neighbour.

Piffle I think Bertie is a little better, I am also - slowly - getting the hang of feeding lying down which is an absolute godsend (although I have to change the sheets every day as they get covered in posset!), and it makes a huge difference dh being on my side.

I can't believe how big Finn is! What a sweety!

The-artist-formerly-known-as-Rosy... I love the wallpaper!

Right the wailing is getting to a crescendo now so I'd better intervene... need to find time to wash before my driving lesson at ten... arrrgh!!!

foxcub · 25/06/2007 11:11

Hi everyone - we should start a thread called "how to have bum sex without aggravating your piles"

Not really, doing it up the bum has always struck me as something women put up with rather than enjoy - a bit like blow jobs eh? . I mean does any woman actually enjoy those?

Mossy · 25/06/2007 11:32

Foxy, it can be fun if you have this.

Oral I mean. Not bum sex. I can't see how that would be fun.

TransfiguratingLily · 25/06/2007 11:46

sigh...I've given up chocolate

kittywits · 25/06/2007 11:57

Tranny, again? has your dp gone yet? Is the pain in your neck better?

kittywits · 25/06/2007 12:38

Bloody hell Ronnie's been asleep since 8.30 this morning fanbloodytastic

TransfiguratingLily · 25/06/2007 12:38

Kitty, yeah the pain in the neck's gone- both of them!

If he was covered in chocolate that might get me interested but of course I'm denying myself chocolate. (I'm a masochist)
I really want to lose weight but I am so dull when I'm being self disciplined.

Ds2 is potty training himself...(lazy mother alert) I keep putting his nappy on and he keeps taking it off and going to the toilet. he's done it four times. I don't want to potty train him I just got the carpets shampooed because the house smelt rotten.

Piffle Finn looks great, he's just bursting with personality, all lovely pictures.

foxcub · 25/06/2007 13:12

Tranny - I bought some cleaning materials this morning but can't find any instruction leaflets

divastrop · 25/06/2007 14:05

eids-sorry to hear about your neighbour

bum sex...hmm,quite enjoyable IMO but impossible when you have certain digestive problems

i think blow jobs are great in a 'give to recieve' kind of waychocolate mousse is better though as its not as sticky

rosy(sorry i cant quite get my head around 'tranny')-i never quite understood where the 'training' part came in with potty training.i mean, apart from saying 'theres the potty,if you need a poo or wee do it there' there isnt much else to it i thought.ds2 used to wee on the floor next to the potty on purpose, being the cheeky sod that he is.dd2 gets me a nappy and the wipes when shes done a wee.she's way too young,i cant be bothered yet!

Elsie has been much better today.she's been finishing her bottles and only crying a bit when she starts feeding.im so glad,i was so worried about her.

foxcub · 25/06/2007 16:42

Diva !

Glad Elsie is on the up now

divastrop · 25/06/2007 16:59

thanks...she just started screaming when i tried to give her her bottle again!!!and pulling her ear again....everybody seems to be coming down with another clod before even getting over the last one.

aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

TransfiguratingLily · 25/06/2007 20:24

Diva you all need loads of garlic!

Well, i should probably put pants on ds2 and keep reminding him to go, I did that with ds1 and he was done and dusted in two weeks. Whereas dd still wets often. Maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Hasan is just feeding constantly at the moment. And when I'm not feeding him and he's not sleeping, I'm carrying him around. As soon as I put him down he starts coughing an artificial cough

Got my wallpaper in the post today and must admit, it is sumptuous in reality. I got one roll- about £17! for the fireplace wall. cover up a few scribbles.

foxcub · 25/06/2007 21:41

Tranny - my DD still has accidents too, specially since Monti took her place as baby of the family.

I didn't potty train DS1 or Dd until they were about three, so it only took afew days ('cos I'm lazy by nature)

You'll have to take a pic of your paper when its up. Do you put it up yourself or get a burly man in to do it?

I treated us to Morris & Co wallpaper for our two teeny rooms (one being a loo, the other the office/Monti's future bedroom). I was really very proud when DS1 did an arts project at school and the children all visited the Victoria & Albert Museum to learn about William Morris. Apparently when they showed the children some of his designs, DS1 announced "we have that wallpaper in our house!". I was so proud that he recognised it!!

foxcub · 25/06/2007 21:54

I fed Monti at 8pm and then snuck off to eat ryvitas and cheese.

Just came upstairs to discover he has been awake all that time watching TV and staring at his hands!!! I'd assumed he was sleeping, he was so quiet. Bless him
