March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

Diva - let us know how Elsie gets on - don't leave us all worrying about her! Hope she's OK

Mossy - glad you had a fab time - you certainly deserved some fun and a night off

Kitty - I nearly crapped myself too when I read that!! Also felt a bit for a second of you with all your lovely kids

Have had burly men here all morning giving me quotes (for tiling!!!), have hired one now which is a relief. We had about 8 people in all and only the Eastern European ones bothered to come back to us, the UK ones were just unreliable .

Am going to sex up my kitchen by painting (or getting Polish chappie to paint) it french blue and put steel knobs on. OOh am feeling all creative

Theblonde - I've never been able to crack the lying down feeding at all so well done - must be great to be able to rest and feed

Monti's mouth is like a waterfall. He was sick yesterday and clung to me like a little koala all day (which means the house is a tip - even more than usual) but is a lot better today. DH thinks its all teething but I suspect he's got a cold as well.

foxcub · 23/06/2007 14:43

Glad you had a great time Dolly - am very

TransfiguratingLily · 23/06/2007 16:05

Dolly welcome back!

Diva, poor Elsie

Foxy I like the sound of your kitchen makeover. I'm feeling creative tooand have ordered one roll of wallpaper(off ebay...my new addiction) for a feature wall.
Hasan is a koala too. Sleeping now and hopefully on the mend.

Kitty you were teasing us! I thought you were having another baby too for a split second, all the same I do think that the more you have the more you want.

Somebody will probably be pregnant again soon I bet!

Now where has laidback gone to!

And Jay? (sending good wishes into the ether)

kittywits · 23/06/2007 18:52

Diva, poor Elsie and poor you. I hope the em doc can help, {{{hugs}}} to you both .

Rosy, I think I can finally say that I have enough children!!

Foxy, the kitchen plan sounds interesting. I was being creative in 'next today, clothes shopping, ooh it felt good

Mossy, so glad you had a good night, shame dh was too pissed though. or was it a relief [grin}??!!

foxcub · 23/06/2007 19:09

Transforma - what's your wallpaper like? can you describe it?

foxcub · 23/06/2007 19:13

Ooops, got your name completely wrong !! Sorry

Monti has been rolling over onto his tum all day - he rolls over then gets all scaredy and grunts like mad for me to rescue him!!

Also put him in his Bumbo for the first time - he looked so grown up, like a middle aged man relaxing in an armchair !

foxcub · 23/06/2007 20:08

Dr Who was scary!!

divastrop · 23/06/2007 20:40

Elsie has oral thrush(probably due to the antibiotics).i have some nystasin for her but she still isnt feeding.she's had 11oz all day(she should have about 30)and i had to squirt it into her gob and basically force feed her.if she doesnt start feeind by tomorrow morning then i will have to take her back and she will probably need to be admitted and put on a drip

also,my mum text me,my nan is very ill and hasnt been awake since yesterday

dolly-glad you had a good holiday

lol@'transforma'

think ill go and seek out jerry springer type threads to take my mind off rl

morocco · 23/06/2007 21:05

foxcub · 23/06/2007 21:13

Diva - that's horrible, poor Elsie. How long will it take the Nystatin to work so her mouth isn't sore?

divastrop · 23/06/2007 21:43

i dont know.from what i remember, when ds2 had it,it worked really quickly,ie the next day he was feeding ok again.hopefully it will work soon.

divastrop · 23/06/2007 21:55

my nan has died

spongecake · 23/06/2007 22:03

oh diva, i am so sorry for you, your nan sounded such a wonderful lady. i hope elsie gets better quickly for you as well. lucky you have your dp to be there for you

foxcub · 23/06/2007 22:06

Oh Diva you're having a really hard day. I'm so sorry about your Nan dying Hope Elsie gets better soon. Give her a big cuddle from me.

TransfiguratingLily · 23/06/2007 23:16

Diva sorry about your Nan. Hope Elsie is better tomorrow.

eidsvold · 24/06/2007 02:15

sorry to hear about elsie diva - you could try daktarin oral gel on a dummy - fabulous. I can't remember if you are breast or bottle feeding. If breast - use the daktarin oral gel on your nipples after each feed - stops cross infection and it really helps with healing for the babes.

i remember once dd2 had the drops going she seemed to recover in no time.

Mossy · 24/06/2007 09:16

Diva you poor love, I'm so sorry to hear about your Nan. And poor little Elsie, I hope she recovers quickly. You're going through the mill a bit at the moment aren't you? Huge {{{hugs}}} to you.

kittywits · 24/06/2007 09:44

So sorry about your nan {{{hugs}}}to you xx

TransfiguratingLily · 24/06/2007 10:52

Foxy this is the wallpaper
Actually, I'm a bit mad, there were others that would be more subtle. I just like that one...not sure what it would look like up.

I've been getting a bit carried away on ebay. I'm bidding for a loola and hoping to be outbid now
and I'm selling a buggy on there...haven't a clue! If someone buys it how am I going to post it!
Piffle, any advice?

Hasan is much better today but still snotty, He is supposed to be getting jabs tomorrow...

Diva how are you feeling today? And how is Elsie?

eidsvold · 24/06/2007 10:58

diva - sorry to hear about your nan

i am lost - have not really been reading and posting the last couple of days. Yesterday was dh's birthday and the weather was horrid and dd1 was off the wall so our plans for a morning at the park followed by lunch out were shelved. Poor dh - not a good day. We did however treat ourselves to a lcd tv for the bedroom - winter has finally come and last night the luxury if snuggling in bed early and watching a dvd was fabulous.

today was not much better - dh and I have had a bout of food poisoning. Dh had it worse than I did poor thing - so birthday lunch shelved again!!

School holidays here and I have the nanny student for the week. have decided to let her care for dd1 and 2 - she is planning their days and activities etc and is in charge - be interesting to see how she goes.

not much else here - just working on getting through the next two weeks.

TransfiguratingLily · 24/06/2007 11:27

Eidsvold, you poor things, hope you are all ok now! I like the sound of snuggling in bed with a dvd, sounds lovely! I hope things work well with the nanny.

Foxy, just call me Tranny Don't worry, I'll change my name again in a few weeks just to keep confusing you

divastrop · 24/06/2007 11:42

Elsie lulled me into a false sense of security this morning by drinking 4oz with no problem, but is now back to screaming again.i just want her to get better.

thanks for all your messages,i dont think its hit me yet about my nan.i just feel numb and worried about Elsie.

sazzybee · 24/06/2007 12:08

diva - so sorry to hear about your nan And hope that elsie is on the mend. What a rotten time you're having.

And eidsvold, sounds like you're not having much fun either although your new telly sounds good.

We're getting very fed up with this weather - endless rain which I find a bit hard to cope with as I don't know what to do with myself especially at the weekend.

I've had a brochure through from the nursery I'm hoping to send Elliot to and it's much more expensive than I thought. I might have to remortgage to afford the fees (and I'm not joking).

As Karen Carpenter would say rainy days and sundays always get you down.

Mossy · 24/06/2007 13:51

Sazzy, can you email me, msrlmoss @ hotmail . com, with your address so I can finally send those CDs to you that I've been promising for a million years?

divastrop · 24/06/2007 13:59

Elsie has perked up a bit now.she had bad wind from not feeding but after a massage she seemed alot better and had some more milk.i was laughing at the arse surgery thread and she was laughing along with me.

eids-hope you and your dh are ok and can have the bithday meal soon.

im going to brave the rain and go to the park.i dont really care atm,and it didnt bother ds2 that it was peeing down in the lake district the other week.

sazzy-in this town every day is like sunday
