March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

Monti suddenly looks so grown up!! These little people are developing their own special features. I think it is time for more baby updates.

I took Kate to the baby clinic this morning and was disappointed to be told that she had lost some weight (because she didn't measure up to the chart). It was just the silly woman who weighs the babies and the HV was much more reassuring. She certainly seems to be putting on loads of weight to me - in both appearance and the ton she is becoming to lug around.

Just a quick glance over the posts... what a giggle your dd, Piff!! I'm still damn tired and now have conjunctivitis to go with my cold sore scars. I look a mess.

Make sure you enjoy your night out with your hubs Mossy. I'm so jealous... we'll all be waiting like school-girls to hear how it went .

kiwibella · 22/06/2007 13:56

I'm delving further .

(((hugs))) to Shanks and Sponge for your posts!! Both upsetting in their own ways.

Hope Hasan is better today, Rosy.

Mossy · 22/06/2007 14:04

Afternoon all...

Bertie is being a little sweetheart today! My friend gave me a load of her old 0-3 clothes and he looks positively adorable in little army fatigue style dungarees!!

Spongecake I am so sorry to hear of your birth trauma. I really hope you can get some support from somewhere like birth crisis, and I hope you can find the strength to have another one day (if that is what you want of course). Lots of {{{hugs}}} to you.

Shrinky... challenging positions? Well, mil's taking Bertie this evening so dh and I can go out for the first time in donkeys years so who knows if we will get up to any challenging positions of our own?

Funny thing is, I was so well up for it in the last trimester and he wasn't at all... but now, I think I have gone off him a bit after the way he behaved then, and in the first weeks of Bertie being born. Oh well, we'll see.

Hello and welcome to you Mamabear

Piffle 3oz in 5 minutes? Wow! Takes me about half an hour to get 1 oz and that's with an electric pump!

Diva glad you're feeling a little better.

Eids and Muppet happy birthday to your dh's!

Went to the bf clinic this morning, the lady there today was excellent, better than anyone I've seen yet. Tonight I'm going to try this new thing called "biological nursing" and next week she's going to get us a video to watch all about it... finally I feel like (in the daytime at least) I'm getting the hang of this bf malarky. Nights still difficult but it's small steps...

She reckons I should send my letter of complaint to the hospital about the lack of bf help after delivery. It's all written - written weeks ago - but I didn't send it in the end. So I might...

Anyway hope the rest of you're all okay too... Kitty I am thinking of you and "laughing boy" as that does sound like he is Bertie's twin, and Bertie is having a good day today so hopefully Ronnie will be better too?

Mossy · 22/06/2007 14:05

Xposts Kiwibella, sorry to hear about your ailments, hope you get well soon.

Shrinkinglily · 22/06/2007 14:24

Kiwi, you need a tonic you poor thing.

Mossy, what is biological nursing?? Tell us tell us! Hope you have a fab night.

Hasan is kind of a cute sickie, he's groaning and snuffling and just wants to be cuddled. So I just have to sit here on mn ignoring housework and cuddling sickie. My neice is here playing with the beasties.

mossy-maybe tonight will be the night

Elsie is smiling at me and being cute now and i feel bad cos i was getting slightly annoyed with her before and it wasnt her fault, poor little thing

TransfiguratingLily · 22/06/2007 17:44

New name, I'm now getting into the Harry Potter mood
Diva poor Elsie, aww I hope she gets better soon.

foxcub · 22/06/2007 20:07

Hi you lot - I cannot keep up!!!

Just to say Diva - I want to know where that chocolate man's hands are!!!

and that Monti is a wee bit poorly - constant feeding and crying and his eyes are all piggy - poor wee man

right off to do my callanetics now

foxcub · 22/06/2007 20:08

I mean his thumbs! [snigger]

TheBlonde · 22/06/2007 20:12

Kiwi - sorry you are not well, are you breastfeeding or do you know someone who is? Only breastmilk is v good for conjunctivitis apparently

foxcub · 22/06/2007 20:15

Piffle - you are turning into one of those hippie women aren't you - who breast feed their entire families

Mossy - I'm so glad its taking a turn for the better - are you starting to enjoy the feeding yet? Once it settles down its fab Bertie sounds as though he's in a new phase as well

TheBlonde · 22/06/2007 20:19

On a feeding note, I finally managed to feed DD lying down today - it took me until 6 mths to get the hang of it with DS

divastrop · 22/06/2007 21:30

i managed to get 5oz down Elsie before she went to bed,but it took alot of hard work and screaming from her.i think there are few things more stressful than not being able to feed your hungry baby.ive ended up shouting at the other kids and dp.am now having a drink and reading threads where people are arguing about subjects i have no opinion on!

i didnt realise that kama sutra thing was chocolate till after i posted it.

(((hugs))) to all with poorly babies(that'll be most of us then)

sazzybee · 22/06/2007 22:16

evening all

too tired to do a proper post but wanted to say hello and also say to spongecake that I had a quick look at your thread and just wanted to say how sorry I am to read that - how dreadful for you. I'm speechless at what an awful experience you had.

what do you do about dribbling experienced mothers? should I give DS a bib? his t-shirt is soaking

urggh - an exhausted and off to bed

mamabear2b · 22/06/2007 22:29

Hi everyone,

Foxcub - thanks for the mmr price list going to do some research and try to find out the pros and cons, it's not the autism thing that bothers me it's more the huge dose of stuff in one go that worries me

Shrinkinglily - How weird woke up this morning and left shoulder sort of frozen and horrid headache...wonder if there's a mums fund for repetitive strain injury due to constant bf, nappy changing and lifting?!

The blonde - how cool bf lying down I can't seem to crack that one no matter how hard I try ds seems to find it highly amusing to practice his kicks on my far from washboard tummy...think he likes to see it wobble!

Sazzybee - not experienced in the least but ds is exactly the same this week, have bought some material bibs (not the ones with plastic backs, he hates the sound) and it saves his t-shirts. Only problem is I'm going through about 4 a day at the mo, on the plus side he's stopped wanting his dummy and chews them instead

morocco · 22/06/2007 22:42

I didn't realise that post was from you sponge, {{{hugs}}} also so sorry about stupid poster (must be a troll or cowardly name changer as well cos she's only posted on a few threads)

pmsl at milk story piffle

no news here today apart from nappies - got some new bumhuggers and they are brill
and need to get cot sorted this w/end

anyone read thread about dummies/reduced cot death risk. think it's a load of auld balls myself but worth knowing and making your own minds up

kittywits · 22/06/2007 22:45

Sazzy, a bib would work fine. Ronnie is 11 weeks and dribbling like mad. He's sucking his fists and always has bubbles of saliva on his chin.

For my sins I've decided that 6 kids is not enough and have now got a friend of ds1's here for a sleep over

divastrop · 22/06/2007 23:12

kitty-i nearly s**t myself then,i thought you were going to say you were pregnant!!!

deep breaths...

sazzy-Elsie wears a bib for feeding anyway.i dont like leaving bibs on them(i dont know why)and just keep changing t-shirts.mind you,Elsie isnt that bad yet.but dd2 soaks a t-shirt in half an hour atm,and if i put a bib on her she takes it off

kittywits · 23/06/2007 08:48

Diva , that would have been the immaculate conception then!1!
I'm done with breeding now!!!

Mossy · 23/06/2007 11:49

Morning all! Had a lovely night out last night, went to our local Chinese restaurant for delicious dim sum and shredded crispy beef... even allowed myself a drinkie!

No saveloy... dh was a bit too drunken!

But boy am I tired!

Gonna try and kip on the couch... Bertie's having a nap so we'll see if he'll let me!

Come back later, probably! Hope you're all having good weekends!

divastrop · 23/06/2007 12:14

Mossy · 23/06/2007 12:24

Oh Diva I hope little Elsie's okay, let us know how you get on.

Muppet I just wanted to say, I think it was you who recommended that Sheila Kitzinger book, I totally forgot to say thank you, as you are right it is excellent!

DollyPopsOut · 23/06/2007 14:30
