March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

blimey sponge - didn't know the birth had been like that ... what a brave woman you are... and what a horrid poster on your thread why do people feel the need to be like that???

Foxy - monti's looking damned fine and I think he needs to join the Moscow State Circus with tricks like that!

Shanks - defo go to different group or try some different structured ones like diva said.

Rosy - hope Hasan improves soon

Mossy - Bertie's doing great if he stonked on 8 ounces! Go girl!

Can't remember any other posts - oh yes, glad you're feeling better Callie - and Piff take care of those footballs! If you need me to get you some breast gel pads you MUST let me know!!

divastrop · 21/06/2007 22:39

thanks for all the support

im feeling a bit better now.

fox-monti is gorgeous.i will have to post a recent pic of Elsie soon.she has go massive, and has nearly outgrown all her 3-6 months clothes, which are still all over the bed waiting to be sorted out as the 0-3 stuff is still in the drawers.i cant keep up!

mossy-glad you are feeling better now

sponge-babies tend to look a bit lost in a cotbed at first but that lasts for all of about 2 months if that.ive only had a normal cot for dd2,and ive had to get her a cotbed anyway now.you may as well just get the cotbed IMO.
i will ahve a look at your threads in a minute...

piffle-Finn doesnt have an earache, does he?its just thats what elsie's been doing,i know its different with a bottle but she will suck ok but it was hurting her to swallow.

kitty-march 2008?

spongecake · 21/06/2007 22:47

thanks ladies for your support

diva, glad you are feeling better. looks like it will be a cot bed, they seem so huge!

my boobs ache, think might go and waft them near ds in hope he smells the milk and wakes up (like the bisto kid) i am really not comfortable with waking him to feed, tried this once and spent all night trying to get him back to sleep!

mamabear2b · 21/06/2007 22:50

Thanks for the invite Booboobedoo, Hi all new to your group.
Ds had injections this week and has such a horrible time with his 1st injectins that took mil with me this time made such a difference having someone to distract him if he could talk it would have been something like
" Ahhhhh it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts hate you all you evil big people..ooooooo wot's that noisy rattle ball thing" then he fell asleep!

Would have taken my mum but I live in cumbria and she's in southport so bit of a trek!!

Has anyone paid for the separate injectins, how much do they cost?

mamabear2b · 21/06/2007 22:56

Oh and Kitty, Cap'n is gay, he got hitched a couple of months ago I think it was in one of the glossies...bummer or wot (excuse the pun!!)

divastrop · 21/06/2007 22:58

ive lived up north for 10 years but im really an essex girl.

mamabear2b · 21/06/2007 23:20

Funny enough most people I know are not actually from Cumbria, instead East London, Sussex South Africa (?!)

I moved here to be with dh 4 years ago from Southport but was an armed forces brat so have lived all over... gypsies in uniform!

TheBlonde · 21/06/2007 23:53

Just popping on to say a quick hi
Haven't attempted to catch up, hope everyone is well
Hi to mamabear2b

Big hugs to Sponge

eidsvold · 22/06/2007 09:22

mossie - good one!!

foxy - he is cute.

sponge

well I have done it - took all my maternity clothes to a preloved maternity shop and sold them off. No more babies for us.

dd3 is just blossoming. She is smiling, laughing - real chuckle on her, lots of 'chatting' too.

been busy here and tomorrow winter school holidays start for 2 weeks. Have dh's birthday tomorrow - all presents wrapped and sorted. Just got to make his cake. We are out for lunch and then taking the girls to the park as a treat.

trying to organise a time to take dd3 to get her first set of vaccinations - probably when she is almost 4 months old.

dd3 is 13 weeks old today.

Eids - 'tis my dh's b'day tomorrow too... I will not be making a cake as I am crap at cooking and would like us all to eat something nice instead ... you put me to shame eids....

Hello to mammabear

kittywits · 22/06/2007 09:48

Gosh, what a lot of posts!!

Sponge, what an awful birth experience for you. I had no idea, you poor thing. I do highly recommend hiring a doula. Lots of {{{hugs}}} to you.

Hi, mamabear, goo to have you with us, how old is your ds? Yeah I am gutted about john Barrowman. Actually when I looked at him and thought "39, boyish looks, in great shape, well groomed etc.... has to be gay !"

Gotta go!

foxcub · 22/06/2007 09:55

Whenever I think men are nice the usually turn out to be gay

Hi Mamabear2 - weklcome to the mad march thread

Single jabs: Measles £70-£80, Rubella £70-£80, Mumps £120-£140. Mumps is very difficult for the clinics to source, as the government has blocked its import in attempt to try and stop people accessing it, hence the price hike. However, boys don't need in until they reach 11 and girls can do without mumps vaccine. Likewise boys can do without Rubella and girls don't need it until puberty.

Shrinkinglily · 22/06/2007 10:19

Hi Mamabear2

I have a headache and strange pain in my nck and shoulders. Wonder if I did my yogalates wrong or need to do more yogalates and dh has been around all week...maybe there's a connection????

Hasan threw up over me another couple of times yesterday, this morning he is still groggy but not quite as miserable. It's awful when they aren't well isn't it?

kittywits · 22/06/2007 10:22

Shrinky, are you perchance insinuating that your dh is a pain in the neck ?

kittywits · 22/06/2007 10:23

And soory that hassan is still ill,it's a worry when they are so small. Hope hed continues to improve today

Shrinkinglily · 22/06/2007 10:23
Grin
foxcub · 22/06/2007 12:04

[big hugs] for little Hasan

divastrop · 22/06/2007 12:04

rosy-did you get into some challenging positions ?

i have hurt my ankle.i have a weak achillies(?)tendon which used to hurt often when i was doing my performing arts a-level,but has been fine for the last 11 years(probably cos i havent done any excersise till now).

Elsie slept from 8.30-5.30 last night

rosy-hope Hassan feels better soon.

Shrinkinglily · 22/06/2007 13:18

Diva I think so

Piffle · 22/06/2007 13:31

hi all
Diva - Finn is not ill no other probs just ready to feed less often I think. he was sod to settle last night and finally nodded off at 10pm but did sleep til 7am and as I went to bed at 10.30 got a bloody good nights kip. The blocked up boobage seems to be manageable today too
I expressed about 3oz into a cup last night in about 5 minutes and along came dd (4) and drunk the lot saying lovely scrummy yummy, mummys warm booby milk...
So do I qualify as a tandem feeder then? LOL

Eids Finn sounds like your dd3 lots of smiling, lauging and talking, a proper little person

CAllie enjoy your mini break

rosy when you're bf your are dead prone to neck/shoulder probs esp trapped nerves - I had them dreadfully after dd and sought osteopathic help - apparently the hormones that soften tissue and muscles elastin/relaxin? keep on when you're bf... harder to heal as well

I eventually found out what caused it - separation of the first 2 ribs (high up in your chestundr your neck) And the cause - carrying that bloody infant car seat - so this time am being very careful and taking Finn to the car not carrying him in and out with it.

divastrop · 22/06/2007 13:34

oh,i was thinking more of these sort of challenging positions.

mmmmmmm

kiwibella · 22/06/2007 13:45

omg ... surely this is one of those coming in halfway through a conversation moments!!

Diva first post I read!! I'm not sure if I want the chocolate or the sex first???

Shrinkinglily · 22/06/2007 13:50

I want the chocolate....

Piffle that makes sense, and I often don't feed in sensible positions, must take more care. How cute of your dd about your milk, I gave a bottle of ebm to ds2 as Hasan wouldn't take it. I was delighted not to waste it! So I'm a tandem feeder too!
