March 2007 - can't keep up

eidsvold · 18/06/2007 08:06

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

Well I opened the email. It was fine actually, have posted it on my other thread.

About to take Bertie to the baths for the first time today!!! I hope he doesn't scream!

Piffle · 25/07/2007 10:18

Eidsvold if I had your life I'd be shattered
You always fit sooo much in!

Well my back has gone again but this time from the neck not the bottom so am grim...
Finn is confined to the pram now in seat mode as I cannot carry him - he is not best pleased and glares at me. have ds 1 to help out which is great, well now that he has finished Harry Potter anyway...

Ahhh well...
must dash... taking me 75oooo% longer to do stuff.
But I am dressed and fed as are the kids
Hooray

Mossy · 25/07/2007 10:19

PS today is the anniversary of when I got my bfp last year! Spent the next ten weeks with my head down the loo though.

Mossy · 25/07/2007 10:19

X posts piffle hope you are feeling better soon you poor thing!!

DollyPopsOut · 25/07/2007 12:51

Hope you are feeling better piffle .

Sorry for short post. Am completely knackered. As DD1 is at nursery, am taking the opportunity to catch up on a bit of light rest for a couple of hours! It's bliss.

Oh dear, DD2 has obviously read that and is now stirring.....

divastrop · 25/07/2007 12:53

mossy-i know i said first week in august, but i just looked at the calendar and the second week would be better for me-thursday 9th would be the best day.

i will read your thread in a minute.

piffle-hope your back is better soon.

foxy- i was reading the one about an unemployed couple with 12 kids getting a 500k house off the council.

i thought i'd feel better today but im still ill,my throat hurts and i have PMT

LunarSea · 25/07/2007 18:43

Well half way through the 1st week of the school holidays and what have I done today? Ordered ds1's school uniform for next year! I used to really hate all the "back to school" stuff appearing in the shops before the holiday had even started, so I feel a bit funny being on the other side of the fence now. In my defence, it was online, so ds1 didn't have to be involved (and there's 10% off by ordering by the end of July).

Mossy · 25/07/2007 19:29

9th should be fine!!

Dh being a pita again. To put it mildly. Have resurrected my old thread.

Dolly hope you managed some rest!!

Lunar you're another in the organised camp then??

LunarSea · 25/07/2007 19:52

Mossy - no I'm in the skint 'cos I'm only statutory minimum maternity pay and need to save the 10%, and am so disorganised it'll take me 4 weeks to get nametags on them anyway brigade!

divastrop · 25/07/2007 21:17

mossy-its a shame we cant have an evening meet up in blackpool with no kids, and have a belated 30th birthday p**s up!

maybe in 10 years time it would be reasonable to plan something like that.

lunar-i have already got ds2's uniform,i had to get that out of the way before i could start getting wedding stuff.name labelling will be me sitting there with a laundry pen at 10pm on september 3rd though.

and ds and dd1 will have to make do with last years stuff for the first few weeks.

foxcub · 25/07/2007 21:24

Diva if its £500k its probably a bit small for a family of 14 LOL!!!

oooh I want to read that thread now...[trots off looking for trouble]

divastrop · 25/07/2007 21:37

here foxy

for 500k you could probably get a large hotel up here

kittywits · 25/07/2007 22:10

Hello all. Really sorry for the not posting. I am keeping up with all your news, good and bad.
Hope all those with kids on hols have survival plans
Lots of love xx

foxcub · 25/07/2007 22:32

Hello Kitty

Thanx Diva

divastrop · 25/07/2007 23:05

kitty-my survival plan involved alcohol, but the sore throat has made it unworkable and i dont have a plan B.i juat keep repeating to myself 'one day at a time,it will soon be august 1st'.

kittywits · 26/07/2007 09:28

Oh yes, lots of alcohol. I've started listening to that Paul Mckenna hypnosis, change your life forever cd. I listen to it before i go to sleep.
I don't know whether it's sheer coincidence, but the nights I listen to it I have a MUCH better night's sleep and so feel much better able to cope with the day.
Went to get Ronnie weighed yesterday, he hasn't been weighed for 2 months anyways he's 15lb now.
The silly health visitor said "oh he's not a big boy" silly mare. he's in 6-12 months clothes fgs and some of those are getting a bit small. Then she told me to eek out his feeds to 3 hourly because he probably wasn't taking enough hindmilk and was getting into bad habits.
I'm not sure why I went now. If I was less experienced I would be in a tizz. Anyway he had a WHOLE jar of baby food yesterday for his dinner!!
I'm with you Diva, I do jars until they can chew then they eat what we're eating.

muppethasakitten · 26/07/2007 10:21

kitty - your hv sounds like someone to be avoided

Piffle · 26/07/2007 10:41

wow Food!

Saw Callie fab clip with Jordi so know about that
So who else is weaning, Finn not showing any interest at all - he is 18 wks so have not bothered with anything.

He seems to have taken up 3hrly feeds now at night though

the heady days of 7 hrs sleep are gooneeeeeeeeeeeee

kiwibella · 26/07/2007 11:03

alcohol hope everyone is doing ok and surviving with this crap weather

apparently summer is going to begin on August 15 and it will be warmer than usual... how can they tell this??

Mossy (((hugs))) I don't envy your situation. You are doing a fabulous job hanging in there.

Travel safely Rosy... lots of love to send you on your way.

I am envious of your meet up girlies. Hope you have an enjoyable day.

Sorry to hear about your back Piffle. Finn is too cute being cross at his mama! Your ds is an angel helping out.

I am shattered - and I only have Kate to worry about. She has been very grizzly which is wearing. Poor thing, just wants her routine. I am scared about seeing the HV tomorrow after your experience Kitty. They can be right wankers with some of their comments. I have been looking forward to having her weighed.

Can I ask what sort of baby food you are using? At the moment, Kate eats anything that we are - I need to sort her out her own portions.

kittywits · 26/07/2007 11:49

Kiwi, I'm doing 'hipp organic' and giving him crusts etc to gnaw on. He's still not good with using his hands so always loses them!
For my older children when they were babes I diligently cooked and pureed up food a la Annabel Karmel and froze it into little ice cubes. Now I cannot be doing with that.
In a couple of months I'll take him off the mush and mash up our food as long as it's baby appropriate.

Piffle is your back feeling any better?

Callieco · 26/07/2007 12:02

my aunt is having third of her lung removed today. Keep your fingers crossed for her.

Piffle, sorry about your neck.

Kiwi, so far I've given Jordi rice, carrot, butternut squash and banana. I'll never look at a banana in the same way after seeing the results of its processing through his guts....

DollyPopsOut · 26/07/2007 13:26

Mossy, I have posted on your other thread. Big love to you darling XXXX

Best wishes to your aunt, Callie. I really hope that the op goes well.

How are you today piffle ? Better I hope.

Kitty, I didn't get DD2 weighed for 14 weeks! Can't stand the HV, never found one who had anything useful to say, so just don't bother. DD1 hasn't been officially weighed since she was 4 months, such is my dislike, and she's now well over 2! I think the food sounds as if it's going well, you nkow Ronnie and how he is doing so if you are happy with his weight gain that should be fine. DD2 had cruised down the centiles when she was last weighed but she looks ok to me so I am leaving it.

Hello Diva, sorry you are still poorly. Hope you feel better soon.

Well done Lunar for being so organised! I love a discount as well.

Hello everyone else, hope you are all well

Am a bit poorly here but battling on. Have a headahce I can't shift, plus an upset tum and am exhausted. Went to bed at 8.30 and didn't stir again til 6.30 to feed DD2! Clearly all is not right. Hope it'll pass off soon. Have got to go out tonight to see a friend who is off on hols for a month next week so now or never alas. Perhaps a glass of wine will help. Kill or cure I guess .

TheBlonde · 26/07/2007 16:23

Just a quick hello as I should be packing and not mumsnetting

I have only seen our HV twice since the baby arrived. They have moved the clinic and it is a long walk so I cannot be bothered

Lovely pics Eids and Foxy

Kitty I do jars despite it being a big MN no no

Mossy hope things improve soon

divastrop · 26/07/2007 17:04

i feel better about the jar thing now.i know the non-organic ones can be full of crap but i cant see anything wrong with ones that have 'carrott, water' or 'apples, pears, water' as the only ingredients.

my throat is still sore but i feel a bit better today.apart from bad 'down below' crampy pains which means af's on the way.i am quite looking forward to it,actually,as after my last 2 babies it was my 3rd post-natal af that saw my hormones return to normal

i took dd1 to have her hair cut short[nasty mummy]as i've been threatening to for ages.she never brushes it properly.i thought she was going to be in a mood with me but shes fine

where is mossy today?i hope everythings ok.has anybody heard from her ?

Piffle · 26/07/2007 18:09

CAllie hope the op went ok and your aunt makes a good recovery and it sorts out the problem. Scary time I know.

Has anyone heard from sponge on her island?

I've heard from Mossy we swapped a cpl of texts, she's ok, pissed off but ok.

sorry to hear of all the ills befalling so many of us - school hols always a den for illness - just what you need shit weather and grumpy snotty coughy kids

Well must be off kids to feed...
