March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

OMG piffle - the jumperoo looks fantastic - like something acrobats train in to do their double back flips!!! Are you secretly hot-housing finn for the london olympic gymnastic squad?

lunar - wouldn't touch those houses with a barge pole (no pun intended!) what was on the site b4 they built on it?

just heard the thames is on flood alert now

Callieco · 23/07/2007 21:11

Diva, hope things are better now. Hugs to you. Hello everyone else.

Had a phone call from my boss today telling me about an attachment she's going on, who seems to be under the impression I'm coming back to work in September. The baby was crying and I had to hang up before I could correct her . Was a bit pissed off, because my letter from HR clearly says they assume you are taking the year off until you inform them otherwise. She's always doing stuff like this. I'm in two minds about whether to email her, ccing everyone I can think of to embarrass her, or completely ignore her and let her sort the mess out when I don't return.... except she won't be there because of aforesaid attachment. Her call was coincidentally followed by one from the nursery talking about places available in Sept, which was actually the date I gave them way back when just in case, and the two calls combined made me REALLY depressed, cos I realised I will eventually have to return. I also got a bit teary at the thought of anyone else looking after my baby. It brought it all back to me, the difficult start etc. .

sponge, hope your water situation resolves itself asap - what a nightmare. I take it you are moving to somewhere not so near a river! Hope the wedding plans are going well btw.

divastrop · 23/07/2007 21:18

hello all.

piffle-i kept waking up last night,i thought it was because i have a bad cold but dp admitted he woke me a couple of times trying to get me to turn over as i was snoring and kept him awake all night

kitty-hope you find some time for yourself soon.do any of your family take your older dc anywhere in the holidays?my 2 eldest are going to their nans for 2 weeks next week,i cant wait.

rosy-is there a reason why you havent gone to cork yet?i am worried about you,you usually seem so laid back about everything.are you getting any support?

mossy-do we know whats happening with this meet up yet?its nearly august

muppet-dp wont do councelling.he thinks its a load of b*ks(from experience).i dont think it would benefit him, anyway.

my little boy is 4.we went bowling this afternoon and got KFC for tea.i was going to take them for a meal but im very unwell,i havent had a cold like this since dd2 got out of hospital and all the bugs that had been lurking suddenly got me.i have a temperature, sore throat etc,and its hitting me now as ive been ignoring it all day trying to do birthday stuff.

foxcub · 23/07/2007 21:19

sorry to drop in and not respond to everyone's posts - will try and pop back later to catch up, but I found this:

www.eniar.org/events/Sorryday2007.html
can you get which one of these men is mine?

foxcub · 23/07/2007 21:23

When they got home from this deeply cultural event, I asked if the DCs enjoyed themselves. DD answered: "Yes...daddy took us to MacDonalds on the way home!!!"

spongecake · 23/07/2007 22:04

our water has been turned off for a minimum of 3 days, power will be off wed for SEVEN days. i have a bath of cold water, 8 bottles of mineral water, and a dp who is stranded at work. the roads are impassable.

we move on monday, but the van will never get through, and we have to move out of here as someone is moving in.

I have a wedding dress to get fitted and collect which is looking very unlikely. The shop is a bit wet and the roads are blocked. My wedding hair dresser has cancelled as there is no water.

am madly trying to contact people who will be unable to contact me pre wedding, and will have no email for a month anyway as aol take a month to sort a house move

hope everyone ok, and things better for those having problems...have no time to read threads and wish I did as it relaxes me and makes me laugh, unless its sad of cours

LunarSea · 23/07/2007 22:21

sponge - set yourself up a webmail a/c, and use the local library when you move (if it's anything like ours they'll have public internet access) to access it. Just tell anyone who might need to get in touch urgently to use the new email address as a temporary measure. Where are you actually moving to? IIRC it's not a million miles south of where we are.

foxcub · 23/07/2007 22:32

Sponge you poor thing, how awful!!

I hope the water goes down soon. Lordy, what a dreadful situation so many people are in atm

Piffle LOL at your posts and that thing Finn is in is amazing! have you tried those rounded blunt ended scissors for his nails? They are the only thing I can use on Monti. I got them in a pack in a pound shop with some baby nail clippers (which are useless, but the scissors are a life saver)

Rosy - how is your DH? You sound really down atm

Kitty - you must be so exhausted. try and make sure you get enough sleep in between all those feeds.

Did anyone watch Dispatches then? There is bound to be a thread somewhere. It really reminded me of my experience with Monti - I was left to sit in my blood for 6 hours.

TheBlonde · 23/07/2007 22:38

Sponge - hope you are okay

Fox - I've not seen any TV apart from Cbeebies in weeks. Watched the news of the floods tonight

All okay here. Freaked out earlier as there was a mouse in the lounge (I did the whole jumping on a table and shrieking )
We had once ages ago in the kitchen but the traps were always empty.
DH checked them tonight. Two bodies.

Hope everyone else on the thread is okay

muppethasakitten · 24/07/2007 12:41

foxy... am i being stupid... which one is your dh??

kittywits · 24/07/2007 13:20
Grin
divastrop · 24/07/2007 14:14

foxy-LOL@'daddy took us to mcd's on the way home'-thats a classic kid line.i assume that's your 2 in the photos?looking rather bemused?

sponge-((((hugs))))hope everything goes smoothly in the end .

i dont understand this weather.i live in the back of beyond, and ,apart from a thunderstom and heavy downpoor foe about 2 hours yesterday,we have had nothing but bright sunshine the past few days.

Elsie has a cold, and a sticky eye.dd2 is getting better,ds2 is a nutcase and im glad hes going to nursery next week,i have a cold/erache/sore throat and 2 sticky eyes, and dp hasnt had any sleep the past 2 nights due to my snoring, and he also has a cold.

i give up,the sodding viuses sneaked in when i was stressed and my immune system was down

foxcub · 24/07/2007 14:29

the one in the red shirt, big mooostache, with two bemused looking DCs!!

Rosylily · 24/07/2007 15:47

Fox, your hubby looks great, he looks whacky. I love the artwork behind him and your cherubs are gorgeous. Awww.

Sponge I hope you continue to cope, it is crazy how much is going on for you at the moment. With all the moving in amongst flooding and wedding plans, I hope it all works out and you get a jolly good rest after this.

Diva, how stressful things sound for you too. I hope you manage to shift those viruses quickly.

The blonde...mice...eek My house is full of fruit flies And the children keep shouting 'hey they are having a meeting and making more flies'

It's my compost bin, it needs a bag of cowpoo in it or something to get the balance sorted I think. I've taken to leaving the lid off and a little wren comes and eats some of the flies...

Dh is okay. We really really need to see each other. There is something wrong with me, I'm profoundly tired, suffering anxiety and sweating alot. I keep putting off doing the drive and days just drift.

Now I'm packing today to drive to Navan tonight which is a two hour drive and stay there tonight...here's hoping I manage that! I need a piece of dynamite under my bum

Mossy · 24/07/2007 15:53

Afternoon all,

Just a quick one as Bertie has decided to wail and shout today!

Foxy love the photos, the MacD's quote is priceless!

Arrgh! Why won't Bertie stop wailing? Who knows. Better go and have a chat to him, sorry!!

Mossy · 24/07/2007 15:54

X posts hi Lily hope your journey goes okay and you're back to your usual laid back self soon.

Whicj reminds me, where is Laidback?

muppethasakitten · 24/07/2007 18:29

foxy - bet your dcs had a blast at that!

foxcub · 24/07/2007 20:51

Rosy - hope you get to enjoy life again sweetie [big hugs]

foxcub · 24/07/2007 22:33

where is everyone?

Is Dr Who on or something?

kittywits · 24/07/2007 22:54

Hi, end of term hooray, boo, hooray, boo, hooray, boo
f*ck me, I'm tired

divastrop · 24/07/2007 22:58

foxy-ive been here all evening, hunting out 'interesting' threads to read to distract me from my cold

rosy-good luck with the journey.im sure everything will be ok.you have had a big shock and alot to deal with, its no wonder you feel anxious.take care xxx

mossy-what is happening re meet up?(i know im repeating myself but figured you havent had a chance to read the posts today)

Elsie keeps randomly screaming in the afternoons.it started when i was at my mums.its almost like she has colic.i tried not giving her any 'solids' for a couple of days but she was the same(and it started before she'd had any food atall).ds1 went through similar at 5 months but i assumed(with hindsight)that it was due to me feeding him weetabix and 7 month+ baby food [clueless new mum emoticon].i think she's teething, but the cry is like a colicky one.

i think that my 2 youngest are going to grow up with a calpol addiction due to teething problems and colds etc.

eidsvold · 25/07/2007 04:27

been very busy here - trying to finish off nanny prac so I can sign off her competencies.

All three dds with varying degrees of sore throats, runny noses etc. Freezing cold.

Getting typing done for local DOwn Syndrome Association.

Helping out with our kindy fun day happening in Sept - have lots to do and organise. Sewing resources for kindy

trying to sort out some time off for all of us to go away for a few days.

And most importantly organising a little afternoon tea party for dd1's birthday.

My squdigy tiny bub is 5 next Wednesday. Hard to believe those years have flown. Hard to imagine she would be my big girl after such a rough start.

She is having eight friends over for afternoon tea and a play. She has picked a no5 cake that is designed to be a garden with meringue grubs eating the leaves. Will post a pic when I have finished it. Would she pick the easy ladybeetle or dolls on a trampoline - NO

had a fab day out with the dds the other day

info here

foxy which one was your dh - the one with the two kids following him!! Looks like it would have been a fab day.

dd3 is going great BUT it seems like she is on another growth spurt - every two hours again at night - making me very tired.

Need to go and sort out party bags so I can put them away.

Diva - meet up - erm, first week in August, Blackpool, meet by the train station as I haven't the foggiest where anything else is, I've not been for years! What day is best for you? Morocco... where are you today, are you coming too??

Eids your photos are lovely! You are so busy and organised! You put me to shame I can barely organise making breakfast or reading the posts on here!

Everyone else good morning. I am in a bit of a tizz; just logged into my email and there's one in there from my Dad, I haven't opened it yet, I am too nervous.

I do know that's pathetic but there you go. Gonna have a coffee and my happy pill first!!

foxcub · 25/07/2007 09:51

Mossy - ooh you must let us know what the e-mail contains!!!

Eids - yes he's the wirey one with the big moosetache in red, with two DCs - just posted on your lovely thread

Hi Kitty - how did your first day go?

Hi Diva - did you find any interesting threads?
