March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

spongecake · 22/07/2007 15:54

oh diva hope things are better now-am off to read your thread.

drama and mayhem here- the water has been cut off and will be for 72 hours!!! have filled bath with water and found the sterlisation tablets. it went off at 2.00! i have been up since 6 and i missed the annoucement on tv and radio

evenhope · 22/07/2007 19:53

Lovely photos on the updated profiles everyone! I've put 2 new ones on mine.

Diva sorry to hear what's been happening. We're still having a bit of a "wobble" at home because of the baby. I think you're being too hard on yourself, but it also sounds like you are suspecting your DP of something he's not actually doing. Some sort of couples counselling would probably help. Don't know what else to say really but fingers crossed for you.

foxcub · 22/07/2007 20:04

Sponge - why was your water supply cut off???

Rosylily · 22/07/2007 20:05

spongecake · 22/07/2007 20:17

the water plant treatment plant can;t cope so they have closed it. a van will be round soon but police were called to shops as people panic bought water!

i can't wait to move, a week to go.

spongecake · 22/07/2007 20:21

sorry, and a bit disjointed tonight. am off to wah hair in sink with kettle. think am taking this 1950's housewife too far, i shall be sniffing the cologne next

divastrop · 22/07/2007 22:28

foxcub · 22/07/2007 22:34

Diva hope all is well with you

Mossy · 23/07/2007 09:50

Diva I posted on your thread, sorry I have been busy this weekend and it's a bit late now, but I wanted to give my support anyway.

Foxy... I'm afraid I won't be posting on your thread as I've no idea about any of that kind of thing!

Spongecake, no water, good grief they're taking the p*ss aren't they? I bet you can't wait to move now!!

Evenhope, Lunar, Sazzy, lovely piccies! Lunar how old is Toby, he is one of the younger ones on here isn't he?

Anyone else who is bfing, what do you do when your lo starts coming off the nip and looking about at things that are more interesting? Bertie's just started doing this and it's doing my head in, not to mention my sore nips! Also he has started playing with my boob and often grabs it and it comes out of his mouth; anyone else have this and what do you do?

Mossy · 23/07/2007 09:53

Forgot to say, hello to everyone else as well, I've lost where I'm up to with messages and everything!!

Oooh, bought some of this t'other day and it is really tasty! I'm still not convinced my milk supply is that great so I thought it couldn't hurt!

Oh and the rest of my nappy wraps finally arrived this morning; they're gorgeous! MUST stay off Amazon!!

muppethasakitten · 23/07/2007 10:06

diva read your post yesterday but no time to post... has your dp come back now properly?? Can only second what some others have said that some kind of couples counselling could work?

sponge at your lack of water... i thought the water co. had to provide water for you (bottled) if you were without for over 24 hours... or have i completely made that up?

foxy - no road advice... sounds so much money

mossy - hope you're ok after your fall . Samuel is always mucking about at the boob!! he's more interested in what's on the telly or what the other dcs are up to... it's so annoying.. no real solution i'm afraid.

at you thinking i was posting pictures of my flooded road... although it was quite a sight!

lovely pics from everyone else too!

lily - have you finished deathly hallows yet!

Piffle · 23/07/2007 10:14

diva glad you and dp are talking, sorry to have missed your thread this weekend and hope things can settle down xx

Sponge hope the water can come back on what a bind, hope they are getting drinking water out to folks?

Mossy Finn is a great one for sucking just long enough for letdown then letting go and having a gander around, resulting in him me adn any innocent bystanders (usually dd) getting sprayed. I figure he is not too hungry if he does this, hate feeding in public as it is just asking for trouble

Then he bobs on and off. he has been scratching badly too I look like I've been slashed, so we had to trim his nails big time - no easy task so I ended up nibbling them off which he giggled throughout.
At home I take him to darkened bedroom if I have not got the patience or just sit him up and leave him for a bit longer.

Well had exps mum and exp here over the weekend to see ds1, it was really nice she has mellowed out since the day we told her I was pregnant 14 yrs ago and she nearly died of shame...

She loves DP and keeps saying to exp, this is what you should be like you laybaout

Piffle · 23/07/2007 10:17

sazzy and lunar fab pics
they are all growing up so fast!!

kittywits · 23/07/2007 10:31

Mossy I've ordered some of that tea. Found a site that had a big pot for £7.00!!!
Sorry for not being around. I do lurk, Having a really crap time atm. Ronnie STILL feeding every hour and screaming in between.

Piffle · 23/07/2007 10:40

Kitty poor you - maybe he is filling up his slim frame - hollow legs syndrome we call it in our house.... the skinniest ones eat the most!
Anyone elses baby wake up after a night feed and just talk and coo for an hour before drifting off? Finn did this at his 4am feed and it was so cute was watching him and he was tryin to roll as well, but sleeping bag kept him in place.

Had to kick dp out of bed for snoring as well
so all in all babies noises are cute, men noises are NOT
And oh yes am a bit shattered too

sazzybee · 23/07/2007 10:49

lunar - keep forgetting to say how amazing it is to see toby sitting up! He looks like a very small man Elliot can't do anything clever but today he talked in the bath which is mucho progress from screaming so I'm pleased

Mossy - I try (if possible) to bf in a very quiet place without distractions. But yes this happens a lot and is a total pita although my let down isn't so powerful I spray milk! LOL @ piffle

kitty - sorry you're having such a hard time. I had a week like that last week with E. Bloody knackering isn't it?

Yes piffle I have the night giggling. I try very hard not to make eye contact or it exacerbates things so I'm peering at him out of half-closed eyes while he's bobbing about grinning at me!

muppethasakitten · 23/07/2007 11:36

put another new pic up - can't keep him out of his bumbo! I love it!!!

older dcs at pony camp so lots of time for just me and samuel today

Rosylily · 23/07/2007 11:42

Yep Hasan is playing with his food and frequently gets his face sprayed too

I finished 'the book' was very good, I love all that kind of thing.

I am struggling to cope. Am in total chaos. I can hardly keep everyone fed and clean. I'm even a bit agrophobic, definately not totally sane at the moment. I am not supposed to be here, should be long gone to cork....

Rosylily · 23/07/2007 11:44

Lovely piccy Muppet.

LunarSea · 23/07/2007 12:12

Mossy - Toby was 15 weeks the day that pic was taken. As for feeding - I feed him in the study with all the blinds drawn - and totally ignore him while I mumsnet with my free hand! He's learnt that the quicker he feeds the quicker he gets attention again, so he doesn't mess about. It's a different story when we're out and about though - then he's forever pulling off to look at something.

sponge/muppet - hope things improve for you soon. Lots of flooding around here too - but fortunately we're on the high bank of the river so it'd need to be a flood requiring Noah's ark to get to the house.

muppethasakitten · 23/07/2007 12:30

rosy - not surprised that you're struggling - so much has happened to you recently and if you have any anxiety/agorophobic tendancies they are going to flare right up if you're under stress... try and be kind to yourself as much as poss and don't expect too much at the moment... what extra help can you call on?

lunar - those pics - is it still like that today?

LunarSea · 23/07/2007 12:46

muppet - it's gone down a bit now thank goodness. But would you buy one of those new houses in the last two photos if you'd seen the site like that? Very appropriately named though!

Piffle · 23/07/2007 16:22

Lily you do have a lot on your plate, go easy on yourself sweety.

Muppet what a stunning looking bunch of children you have! Samuel looks so well!

I'm popping up some pics of Finn in his jumperoo (ebay bargain) he adores it, I may now be able to cook a dinner from scratch
