March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

Sorry. Link to photos.

DollyPopsOut · 21/07/2007 14:09

Oh my god, poor you and poor bertie mossy! I hope you are all OK. It is terrifying when you have an accident. I think babies are far more resilient than we think but your heart just stops when something happens. When DD1 was about 4 months old, 2 shop assistants in Marks and Spencer were messing around and one of them fell into the pushchair sideways and knocked it over. DD screamed and screamed, but was OK after about 10 mins. I let rip into them though, an couldn't go to the shop for about 6 months until they'd forgotten me!

Sazzy, I am so sorry E was so unwell. How is he today? Have texted you. Big hugs XXXX

Thank god the cat is OK Callie!

Hello everyone else. It is still pouring here so DH has done the decent thing and gone shopping on his bike. DD1 and I have been card making for the ILs' wedding anniversary tomorrow. DD2 just had milk and slept, milk and slept. What a peaceful day!

Back later.XXX

Piffle · 21/07/2007 15:33

Mossy that sound so scary, hope your injury gets better, were you prooperly checked out to?
Walkers hmm not sure, dangerous I think, but if you watch them like a hawk I guess they'll be fine.

Sympathies to those deluged, we've had loads of rain but on and off so no probs here in Lincs but we are told it could still head this far over....

Mossy · 21/07/2007 17:01

Well, I have just sent my letter to my Dad. It is in the post.

I am sweating like mad and my hands are shaking; didn't think it would get to me so much but the thought of my Mother trying to get back in my life scares the hell out of me. Still it was about time I did it, can't be a coward forever.

Arrrgh!!!!

Piffle I didn't realise until afterwards that I'd done my foot in, not sure what I've done to it, in the shock of the whole thing I didn't really realise I'd need checking over too; they stuck some "second skin" on my bleeding leg which is much better now, just a very bad graze.

Dolly I would've shouted at them too!

divastrop · 21/07/2007 17:28

mossy-hope everything goes ok with the letter.you are a brave woman!

glad Bertie is ok also.i have never used a sling as i would be too scared of that happening.
my HV with dd1 said that walkers stop the baby's back muscles developing properly as it holds them upor some such shite.that was why dd1 was put under observation as she wasnt sitting alone at her 8 month check.

she sat up the very next day.dd2 never had a walker and didnt sit up till 10 months,so personally i think its bull and that i just have dd's who cant be arsed.

sazzy-hope elliot is ok.

i forgot to give elsie her dinner at dinner time,so she had it about 3.30 and is now screaming.

im fed up cos i had a big rant at dp last night about some things that were pissing me off(ie him being on the pc all night and never wanting to spend time with me),then this morning he was in a mood with me and said that he'd thought about leaving me last night as all i do is moan etc,and is it any wonder he doesnt want to spend any time with me.its always my fault.do all men genuinely believe that they can do no wrong, and that you should never complain about anything as you are lucky to have them?

callie-so glad your cat is ok

foxcub · 21/07/2007 18:35

Diva - I totally agree about the walkers - just another thing to try and make us feel guilty about!

None of mine have been good at sitting up, 'cos they all have had long skinny backs which makes it hard to balance. Chubby bhudda babies find it easier to sit as they kind of balance on their chubby bums more easily IMO

Mossy - Berties is such a dear little boy isn't he? I can see what he'll look like when he's about 5, with those huge eyes. What a sweetie

PMSL at the pic of your DH asleep on the bed in his undies though! next time he is in a grump. make sure you threaten to blackmail him with the pic of him in his boxers

callie - your poor cat must've been hiding. I'm so glad you found her - what a relief

Sazzy - Hi [waves]

[waves] to Dollypops too!

Monti still feeding for England and I am shattered after DDs party yesterday. It poured all morning then miraculously the sun came out at midday and the kids were able to climb on the bouncy castle later that afternoon!

Phew, glad its over - I find kids parties so stressfull...

foxcub · 21/07/2007 18:36

Mossy - what did you say to your Dad in the letter? [nosy emoticon]

foxcub · 21/07/2007 18:51

Anyone know what YABU stands for in MN speak?

LunarSea · 21/07/2007 19:46

foxcub - YABU = You are being unreasonable.

foxcub · 21/07/2007 20:54

Aha!

Thanks Lunar

sazzybee · 21/07/2007 20:58

Well after the drama of yesterday, Elliot is fine and dandy today so don't know what that was all about. Just glad he's alright though and another milestone in the 'being a parent' annals crossed I guess ...

Found out this am that my mum's oldest friend (who I've known since I was about 7 and who we were really close to as she lived near us and we didn't grow up in the UK so didn't have much to do with other relatives) died suddenly in the night. Terrible shock - my mum is very upset. She was in a nursing home and so there will have to be an autopsy I want to go to the funeral but will have to take E with me which is a bit odd but I can't leave him behind. Diva - did you take Elsie to your aunt's funeral or did someone look after her? Sorry - can't remember but not sure what the protocol is in those sort of situations.

Callie - am delighted your cat's turned up safe and well. When one of mine went AWOL for the night shortly after I had E, I was convinced it was because I'd neglected her. They get a lot more attention than they did immediately after I'd had the baby! Cats are buggers with cars - I'm amazed more of them don't get run over from sleeping under/in/on warm engines!

Mossy - OW! You poor thing! Typical that we worry more about the baby than ourselves isn't it? Glad bertie is okay and get some arnica on your bruising - it really helps you know. Sure you've done the right thing in letting your dad know about bertie. Maybe he won't tell your mum? Or is that not likely?

foxy - you're right about the fat babies you know - Elliot is pretty good at sitting up because he's got such a fat bum!

Right - it's crap telly hour for me.

Love to everyone else xxx

foxcub · 21/07/2007 21:01

Sazzy - try TOTP2 goes Disco - 90 minutes of pure glitzy fun!!

Re funerals I took DS1 and dd to one when she was a baby and no one batted an eyelid. I think its better to go with the baby than not go at all. You can always sneak out if he cries.

sazzybee · 21/07/2007 21:07

thank you fox! Was very depressed by worthy documentary on ch4 about changing laws on homosexuality

spongecake · 21/07/2007 21:45

sazzy, glad your ds is ok, i still hover over the cot when i go to bed and check for breathing. drives dp mad and sure it will be ok at the funeral.

mossy, well done - i hope it works out for you, and your baby gets to know his grandpa. not too sure about his grandma after what you said before though glad your dp is supporting you on this.

my ds is trying to sit up, he is furious he can't go from flat to sit up and pulls at my hands all the time, making grunting noises like a mini tennis player

hv coming monday, its not the one i wanted. I asked for her as "she is really nice and very sensible, so please don;t send anyone else" they were a bit frosty, as she has left! oops...

sazzybee · 21/07/2007 21:48

Some new pics (and a load of old ones)

spongecake · 21/07/2007 21:48

ooh, who will be watching dispatches and undercover mother on monday? i might, as long as its not a long rant about how wonderful all mv are and should be paid £££££. some yes, some no they should be sacked at once. am still v v cross about the treatment i had.

foxcub · 21/07/2007 22:18

Sponge - IKWYM and I'll be watching it too! You never know, you may find watching it a bot of a cathartic experience. Have a good cry if you need to - I can't even think about Monti's birth because the way they treated me was so awful I have blanked it out. I'll deffo be watching though and will be happy if they expose what a bloody mess there is in NHS maternity units - not the fault of the staff individually but the system...(sorry for rant)

Sazzy - I love your pics. Its nice to see the Bfing ones with the family around you and to see your sister again! She looks so thin! (bitch! LOL!)

Is that your Dad? He looks very kind. Do you have any pocs of your nephew - he is the same age as my DS1 [hint, hint]

That TOTP was fab wasn't it?

DS1 made me switch over to jekyll which is very funny and we ate a whole bowl of popcorn - OK I ate a whole bowl of popcorn!

foxcub · 21/07/2007 22:20

That should have read "bit" and "pics" !!

LunarSea · 21/07/2007 22:29

Have uploaded a newer pic of Toby on my profile - will try to take some more new ones soon.

sazzybee · 21/07/2007 22:45

Thanks fox There's a pic of Cos right at the end. And yes - Ali is very slim but then she's always been like that - she is a woman with excellent willpower.

Yes that is my dad and he is very kind. It's awful though that there's not many of my mum with him when she spends more time looking after him than anyone except me

foxcub · 21/07/2007 23:15

Was just about to post but Monti's just woken for some Cava flavoured milkshake !!

foxcub · 21/07/2007 23:39

Just seen the pic of Cos - I can see the likeness between Cos and Eliot - specially the eyes!

foxcub · 21/07/2007 23:40

Lunar that pic of Toby sitting up is sooo beautiful. What a cute little boy!!

divastrop · 21/07/2007 23:42

can anyone help me?

DollyPopsOut · 22/07/2007 09:45

OH Diva I am so sorry . No time to read your thread properly but sending you big hugs and lots of love. You are a very strong woman and will get through this. Take care. I'll be back tonight and will try to offer some more constructive advice.

Hello everyone else, hope all well. XXXX
