March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

woohoo... got to the checkout of my dreambags and I got a 10% discount - who knows why . And, they do paypal so hubs can pay .

muppethasakitten · 18/07/2007 21:32

roll on the sunshine

tranny - did you know Hasan was cutting a tooth?

kiwibella · 18/07/2007 21:56

I am following in your footsteps Callie and am uploading my babe to youtube - how flash is that . Her highchair arrived today and she gets such a thrill playing "peek-a-boo". It's hilarious .

sazzybee · 18/07/2007 22:09

Ooh babies on youtube! I might put mine on. Post links to yours please?

Lily - at Hasan's tooth! Was that expected? I keep feeling Elliot's gums but nothing yet (except for him gumming me pretty hard)

I went shopping today to get my nephew's birthday present - 2 hours later and it was the very last thing I bought by which time I had a very moany baby. But the bargains! Seconds cot sheets in John Lewis and a gorgeous little fleece for the autumn from this swedish shop called POP which I ummed and ahhed over but in the end it was reduced from 24 quid to 6.50 and it's so lovely I had to have it.

I also got a sunsuit from ebay for our holiday - my first ever ebay buy! I'm very excited

divastrop · 18/07/2007 22:32

hi all.

ds2 was fine today.they were telling him to look away when they put the drip in and i said 'oh let him look!he likes needles!'so he did and thought it was great.he is sooo my son.he was a bit sleepy for about 1.5 hours afterward but then he was back to his normal self, apart from keep asking 'whats that noise?'.bless him.

dp text me after i text him to say ds2 was fine, telling me that elsie had been screaming non-stop for 2 hours and he ahd tried everything but she wouldnt drink her bottle and wouldnt stop.plus dd2 was whingy and kept falling asleep as she is ill.so i left ds2 at the hospital and got a taxi home, picked up Elsie, then got the bus back to the hospital.she drank her bottle on the bus, then was all smiles there(see new pic in profile!).

dp thinks she doesnt like him,but i think she just missed her big brother.

all the doctors at the hospital recognised me from when dd2 was in there, and being there brought back memories.but it has made me happy and glad that i have all my babies and they are all ok.

hugs to all xxx

Piffle · 18/07/2007 22:41

LOL at your ds watching the needles
I was about 30 before I could do that!
Elsie looks so grown up in her activity thingy - I have ordered a jumperoo (ebay of course) for Finn as he is Mr Upright only thanks very much and my arms are dropping off.

He is trying to bloody walk when hands are held and he can pull himself up on his cot bars So down a level he goes sharpish

Also when you stroke his face he always says
ahh ahh ahh as that's what I always said to him when I've done it. LOVE IT!

DD is a bit coughy atm, fine during the day... she had her pre school graduation today and sports day and picnic
Am so not ready for her to start school...
DS1 is off school conscientiously objecting to Church things at school - he was livid that Jehovahs Witnesses got off the Church detail (non denom school) but Atheists didn't. And I love a bit of school agro but we wimped out and said he had a tummy bug
anyway must go and bring in my washing

kiwibella · 18/07/2007 22:47

Bless Elsie, Diva!! She is utterly devine - that grin totally melts my heart (((flutter))). Of course, I'm also pleased that things went well for your ds. God, I'm more than 30 and am totally petrified of needles.

(anyone see that show with Chris Tarrant last night where the guy painted a portrait using his own blood??? I was gagging).

I am impatiently waiting for this bloody thing to load on youtube. Neh mind, I have put lots of piccies on my facebook thingy .

The swimming costume sounds cute Sazzy... when are you off to Croyde Bay?

kiwibella · 18/07/2007 22:50

piccies of Kate

divastrop · 18/07/2007 22:53

she liked that sitting-up thingy at the hospital,i've never had owt like that(i had a walker for dd1 but got told off by the hv and was told that was the reason she wasnt sitting up at her 8 months check).but i suppose somthing like that is ok now and again?

Piffle · 18/07/2007 22:53

oh man alive is she sure ready for weaning! LOL at the kumara pic her eyes - dead set on the kai!

I miss NZ kumara, Sainsbury up here get it in sometimes....

Piffle · 18/07/2007 22:54

God HV's are rubish diva
ds1 had a walker and bouncer he walked at 9 mths and sat up at 5 mths...

kiwibella · 18/07/2007 23:00

sshhhhhhh Piffle!! But, I do agree that you should take all advice with a grain of salt - you are the mama at the end of the day.

They have walkers that don't walk nowadays. There is a sort of base on them so the kids can't get mobile.

kiwibella · 18/07/2007 23:11

finally

barefeete · 19/07/2007 04:14

kiwi - I have once of those - a friend lent it to me and Molls loves it. She hates the playmat and drives me nuts wanting to be in my arms all the time but since we had that thing she is so happy in it and can play for ages!

i can't believe that it is weaning time. will be very interested to follow your progress as i was crap at it last time and it scares me!

I think she is mrs upright Piffle!
i can't believe that hassan has cut his 1st tooth lily. OMG are you BF?! DS got his first tooth at 10 months but he was an incredibly late developer in the teeth department. we are still getting the final teeth through now.

sorry to now have posted for a few days. Molls is not well and being sick quiet alot and also not feeding brilliantly. Up every 20 mins this evening and won't feed just crying! not sure why. sleeping on Sofa with daddy as i type - ahhhhh
anyway it's late and i have been up since 5am so need sleep.

TransfiguratingLily · 19/07/2007 09:21

Aww, Diva, Elsie looks adorable in that picture. What a gorgeous smile! and she looks just like her brothers and sisters. Glad the gromets went in ok.

Kiwi, lovely pictures and the lovely youtube clip is very similar to what happens in our house, dd keeps Hasan well amused too. It's lovely to see.

I knew Hasan was teething because he's been slobbering and chomping on his fist for ages but I wasn't expecting to see a tooth yet. It's his bottom front right one. Just poking through. He hasn't bitten me yet.

Ds2 is torturing me. Up loads in the night, very unsettled. He was up at 5am doing his poos in the toilet. Then he was hungry. The toilet training must be what is unsettling him I guess.

foxcub · 19/07/2007 11:34

Diva - glad the op went OK. I had to hold a gas mask over Ds1 when he had his done, which was scary!

muppethasakitten · 19/07/2007 12:15

glad op went well diva

Elsie has a lovely smile.when i smile properly im told,my whole face lights up.wonder when that will next happen

took ds2 to his nursery picnic this morning.he's very tired still but wont admit to it.

i cant believe that fecking thread i started on relationships last week when i was feeling crappy is still going.i got some great advice at first, now there are arguments starting.

ok,i am now going into hibernation.wake me up on september 4th...

DollyPopsOut · 19/07/2007 19:14

muppethasakitten · 19/07/2007 20:15

anyone taken their older dcs to see the new Harry Potter film??? wondering if its really too hairy scary for ds1? dd desperate and wondering if I should just take her... took ds1 to last film (albeit he was younger then) but he was bit spooked by that last bit with voldemort and I felt like a really irresponsible mummy

Callieco · 19/07/2007 20:17

Oh my god, don't know what's the matter with DS but he has had screamy day from hell. Thank god he fell asleep about seven, am just waiting for him to wake up for change and last feed, and praying he goes straight back down. Do you think it could be related to weaning? He had carrot this morning which is only the third time he's had it, has just been having baby rice otherwise.

Diva, glad your DS's op went well. Elsie's smile is indeed lovely.

Kiwi, that's so cute, your DDs playing together. She's a right little giggler, Kate, isn't she?

Hello Barefeete, haven't said hi to you before - hope you are enjoying the Caribbean sun while we drown over here! Where did you say you were again?

Hello everyone else. Muppet, the bumbo is a fab item, isn't it? As I said before, just waiting for DS to get better head control before I can use it properly. On that subject, Piffle, what is the chair thingy you were talking about? I'm getting fed up of hoicking Jordi around too and he just will not go down in anything apart from playmat and I'd like an alternative to having him lie flat if possible.
