Hello?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gingeme · 04/08/2007 11:31

samsam my 20 week scan is the 28th August.
Private scan eh? It can be frustrating the gaps in between appointments can't it?.
Yeah I was talking to dh about how busy this thread used to be. Im finding it hard to keep up with my 'due in Jan' thread. Lots more babys to fill the world

samsmam · 04/08/2007 11:53

Yeah we found a place in west malling, very cheap compared to the prices I paid at baby premier. It was £50, a lot of money but I needed to just see that little heartbeat. My SIL is due 4 days before me so we shall be having our 4D bonding scans on the same day. I had 4D scans with LO and its an amazing experience.

Enjoy the sunshine all.

taffy101 · 05/08/2007 21:13

Hottest day of the year so far!! Even had the paddling pool out today.

Catgirl - we went to Porthmadog, luckily for us my PILs have a static caravan there so we go fairly often and are going again at end of august. Very nice part of the world (when the sun is shining). I am Welsh too but from Wrexham - now live near Manchester.

You have reassured me as regards the attention my 2nd child gets - he absolutely adores his big sister and his face lights up whenever he sees her, so i guess i am not the be all and end all as i was with her!
I am going back to work part time (wish it was party time teehee), just 15 hours per week, over 3 days, which sounds quite sane really. There are loads of childminders near where I work so i am sure i will find a suitable one, got a couple of recommendations to check out too (can't beat a personal recommendation really)
Good luck with the party. Good idea to take cake to school! My LO will have to have a halloween party every year due to arriving on 31st!

kiansmum · 06/08/2007 16:06

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be ok to join you on your postnatal, baby born oct 06 thread.
I have a DS born on Friday 13th October 06.
His name is Kai Finlay and he is my DC3.
I notice a few of you ladies are also expecting again, me too! I'm expecting a DD on the 2nd October 07.
I have posted on the due oct 07 thread but the ladies seem to be very clicky so feel very left out.
Anyway Hi to everyone and i'd love to hear how other babies Kai's age are doing.
Thanks
Sarah

babyducky · 06/08/2007 17:15

hi guys, so quiet on here lately,

welcome kiansmum, my ds is called kai aswell!
Good luck with your pregnancy, hope its going ok.

how is everyone else?
hope all you pregnant ladies are coping in this heat!

Kai is v grumpy, dont think he likes the sun!

kiansmum · 06/08/2007 18:37

Hi Babyducky,
Thanks for the welcome.

Kai's a great name isn't it.
Do you have other DCs?

This weather is sooo strange. Yesterday we were having a heatwave and today we've got flash floods and thunder and lightening!!!
At least it's cooled down tho.
How's your Kai?
I took mine over to baby clinic to be weighed today and he's now 25lb 5oz. He's very tall tho so apparently he's well proportioned!

The pg's going ok thanks but i'm soooo glad it's my last. I'm on clexane and aspirin to thin the blood, iron tablets and i've got SPD really bad so also have 2 crutches!!! If my 1st pg was like this i wouldn't have had any more. Luckily this is my 4th successful one. 9th pg in total tho.

What's the weather like where you are now?

babyducky · 06/08/2007 20:52

yes its a great name!

I love the name kian aswell!

No Kai is our first, we are getting married next summer, after that we are hopefully gonna have another one. Cant wait!

My Kai is good thanks, getting very cheeky & is into EVERYTHING!

sorry to hear about the other pregnancys, & the spd etc, u poor thing.

Do you have any names for this one?

kiansmum · 06/08/2007 21:04

Thank you. We've also got a Lauren and this one will be Chelsea Alana.
What date are you getting married?
We're getting married on August 2nd 2008.
My 1st two were from my 1st marriage, thankfully i never had any from my 2nd marriage, which didn't even last 2 years and Kai and Chelsea will be with Chris, my DP now.
That sounds really terrible. I'm 29 and have already been married twice. I just picked the wrong ones in the past. Anyway 3rd time lucky!!!
I've just sent Chris to the shop to get me some cherry slush puppies as they are my craving at the mo. (bless him!)
My Kai is into everything too, they're great aren't they. I'm abit scared about coping with 2 under 1 but hopefully the older 2 will help. Lauren's now 8 and Kian's 6.
Have you had a good day?

gingeme · 06/08/2007 22:45

Welcome kiansmum.
I am pregnant too. Due in January. I have 2 boys from a previous relationship and they live in Scotladn with their Dad. I have 2 boys from my current dh and now expecting number5!!
I havnt had lo weighted in a while. The clinic is on every other Wednesday so Ill get him weighed next week. Hes cruising along the furniture and has let go a couple of times. I think hes getting a bit ahead of himself though as hes fallen back twice and banged his head sily thing.
My big boys go home on Wednesday. Ill miss them but I wont miss the noise. ds3 has been so naughty and cheeky while his big brothers have been here. Hes like a different child.
Any thoughts about a meet up at all? Somewhere air conditioned I think!!

kiansmum · 07/08/2007 10:22

Hi gingeme,
Cor, it sounds like you've got your hands full! Mind you, don't you find the more you have, the more they occupy each other.

Congrats on your pg. Was yours planned? Is bump also a baby boy? Boys are so loving aren't they? Both of mine are mummys boys.

I'm glad it's not just my lo who keeps letting go of things when trying to walk and bumping his head! I can't believe how quickly the time's gone and how he's into everything!!!! We'll definately be kept fit with 2 babies to deal with!!!

I'm just off to the shop to get my daily fix of cherry slush puppies!!! Back soon. Have a good day

kiansmum · 07/08/2007 11:47

Hi all,
I'm back from the shop having satisfied my craving for cherry slush puppies!!!

Hope everyone is ok and managed to sleep ok last night, it was really stuffy wasn't it.

EffiePerine · 07/08/2007 12:46

Meet-up: yes please! PG women get to pick the venue

Princessllama: sorry you're having a bit of a crappy time atm. I hated the early months of pregnancy - tired all the time and not being able to tell anyone! Hope things improve in the next few months. Feel free to vent at us!

Gingeme and Samsmam: hope you're doing OK in this heat. Have to say I've been thinking that I'm glad I'm not pg at the moment! Last summer was worse, as I remember.

Kiansmum: welcome . 2 babies a year apart

W is cruising now and managing to stand for a few seconds at a time - our childminder and everyone else is predicting that he will be walking soon, but he gets at everything by crawling/standing atm so not sure he's feeling that motivated! Sleep is dreadful atm, heat not helping, also he is extremely clingy - anyone else getting this? I was trying to do the washing up last night with him clinging to my skirt ( he can pull himself up to standing on your legs) and wailing.

Rumpel: glas the move went well and you're settling in.

Catgirl: the festival sounded fun!

samsmam · 07/08/2007 15:22

Hi all,

Welcome Kiansmum- I'm pg too! 11 weeks on Friday. Planned! Finding tiredness a real problem- really gets to me some days. Work is being difficult too- haven't been back yet either from DD1.

Meet up- I have no specific request only that I don't have to get the tube but I appreciate that its not always possible.

LO also standing alone but she keeps freefalling back down to the ground- good job for the nappy! I was just talking to DP about how fast they get on- one minute they just lay there gurgling and innocently cooing away now she is crusing around the sofa and generally being a 'destroyer'!!

gingeme · 07/08/2007 15:46

samsam lol destroyer. We call Edward 'the hooligan]

kiansmum · 07/08/2007 21:24

Hi effieperine and Samsmam,
Lovely to meet you!!!

Samsmam, i know what you mean about the tiredness whilst being pg. I tell you what tho, my pg has flown by cos i've been so busy with Kai. I can't believe i've only got 7 wks left. Before you know it yours'll be here too! Will you find out the sex of this one?

Hi to everyone else too. Hope you've all had a good day. I spent this evening showing my DP how to do an oil change on the car!!!(He's only just 22 and not long passed his test so had never done one before.)
It was so comical. We wondered why there was oil flowing straight through onto the road then realised we'd forgotten to put the sump back in to stop the oil coming out (duhhh!!!) It wasn't until Kian(DS1) asked why there was oil everywhere we realised what we'd done, or not done!!!lol

samsmam · 07/08/2007 21:43

Part of me wants to know this time but the excitement of not knowing last time was just great. I want to know though because I'd need to sell pink to make money to buy blue! Got about 9 weeks to decide. What do you all think?

I admire you Kiansmum- two babies under 1, what double buggy did you decide on? I don't really have a clue!! Some people say just opt for a sling and the single for LO?

I keep thinking about the meet up and my brain can't think of anything inspirational.

kiansmum · 07/08/2007 22:40

I've gotta admit i found out with this one and the last one for practical reasons!!!
It is nice knowing cos then you can get everything ready.
I know this one's a girl so i went down to the Next sale at 4.40am on the day it started with my Best Mate and bought loads of baby girls clothes half price. It makes life easier!
I was so lucky with my double buggy. A lady in the school playground came up to me and said she'd heard i was pregnant again and was i looking for a double buggy as she was selling hers for £60. I told her i was interested and bought it. At the time i knew nothing about double buggies. I now know i got a bargain as it is a Jane Powertwin.(Ideal!)

gingeme · 07/08/2007 23:13

Evening ladies. I got a realy good deal on a double buggy too from a second hand baby stuff shop. Its a Mclaren with 2 cosytoes and rain cover for £75. The only thing I dont like about it is its a kinda bluey grey colour. Why do they make buggys in such dull colours? I used it on Sunday when we went to Chessington and it was a God send. Not only to carry lunches in but when ds3 got tired of walking he just sat in it.
Yeah go on sam find out the colour. I am but only as kiansmum said for practical reasons.
lo was up at 5.40 this morning. Hes getting more teeth I thinks as his litle bum is red raw and he has a little bit of a chesty cough. I should be in bed realy...... Ok off I go. Night al xxx

princessllama · 08/08/2007 19:39

hi all and hello kiansmum, feeling v cheerfull as had scan today and was all great -phew! started telling people and my dad was really pleased so i was chuffed. wish could the same for witchy mil -couldn't have been more negative.
am off to france for 10 days hol with lo and dh tomorrow so v. excited.
still shattered gingeme!

Rumpel · 08/08/2007 21:03

Hi All,

Welcome Kiansmum.

I cannot believe that all our lo's will be 1 soon Amber has lost her baby looks and is starting to look more grown up already.

Life is pretty hectic at the mo'. Still trying to unpack and Dh was away all last week working in Singapore. He has hardly been in this house as we are still trying to get the old one on the market - I need to go and clean it again next week for the photos

All the neighbours here are lovely and A mber is enjoying the freedom to roll - she is into everything though so her playpen arrived today - phew. Nightmare trying to unpack, wash stored clothes and bedding etc etc with a lo UP TO ALL SORTS! She was trying to eat the stones in the garden today, whilst I was busy building my worm farm. Only 2 teeth still. She can bear weight on her legs now but no standing alone or walking yet. She is really long though - into 12-18 months clothes. Everyone thinks she is about 14 months old. I don't have any others to compare her too, although her wee cousin is much slighter built. we have a 'sturdy' girl - like her Mommy

Am off to explore the gym/swimming pool tomorrow. Only got 6 weeks to lose a stone and get fit before we TTC again. Am very broody but is just not practical just now, quite apart from the fact Dh is hardly ever here!

Where has Youngmum gone? I wonder if she got that job? And also emilyandlola - she was TTC again too wasn't she?

Sorry for mega post hope you are all well and enjoying life too!

Gemmitygem · 08/08/2007 21:56

hi everyone,

not been on for ages, will read all your news and then write something! I'm still in central Asia, DS is 10 months, going through teething etc but still very sunny and happy.. hope all well with you and all babies!

kiansmum · 08/08/2007 22:19

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone's ok and you've all had a good day.
Thank you for my welcomes

Princessllama, i hope you have a great time in France. Sounds exciting.

Rumpel, I too can't believe our LOs are nearly a year already. Kai is also in 12-18m clothes as he is very long. Do you find people expect more of Amber because she is tall for her age and they think she's older than she is?

I went to see the mw today and i'm 32+1 and 3/5 engaged. The mw says that's very low. I haven't got a clue what she means. I presume that where i've got no muscles etc left after having Kai in oct, the baby is low as nothings holding her up(lol)Anyone else know what she means?

I'm off to the physio tomorrow about my SPD. She's going to try acupuncture for the pain. I've never tried this before so don't know what to expect. Have any of you ladies tried it and what's it like?

babyducky · 08/08/2007 22:24

hi all,

nice to hear from u again gemmitygem.

glad the scan went well princessllama.

life does sound hectic for you rumpel!
I was wondering that aswell where youngmum & emily are????????????????

kiansmum-we are getting married sometime in july, havent set a date yet.

x

babyducky · 08/08/2007 22:28

hi kiansmum,
x posts.
sorry dunno what she means,
I'm sure a few ladies on here have tried acupuncture for various things so hopefully someone will be along to tell you what its like?
how is your craving for slush puppies?
lol.

babyducky · 08/08/2007 22:30

oh btw my kai is nearly out of 9-12 months tshirts etc, but some of his jeans are stll 3-6 months!
