gingeme · 25/07/2007 22:19

Evening ladies. Had a busy day at the science museum though dh stayed home with lo.
Lo has been waking early hours the past couple of nights because of his teeth. He keeps biting dh which I think is rater funny.
Hes been real clingy just lately too. dh said he wouldnt let him out of his sight today.
He had his first experience of a bouncy castle at his cousins birthday yesterday. He loved it. Big big smiles. It was a joy to watch.
Taking the boys ice skating tommorrow. Its near a park so if the weather holds Ill be going there while the big ones skate for an hour or so.

babyducky · 27/07/2007 11:12

hi all,
hope everyone ok, have not read through yet, been very quiet on here lately!
Really cant believe how few of us there are on here now, compared to how many were on the antenatal thread!
Hope they are all ok.

I'm completely exhausted at the mo, feels like I will never get a minutes peace again! Kai is getting so cheeky, He is climbing up onto EVERYTHING!!! That is all he wants to do now, not really interested in any of his toys he just wants to be up on his feet all the time, he hates being in his buggy or highchair & even in his cot he will just stand up holding onto the sides or if he lies down he kicks the bars & headbutts them!

arghhhh!!!!!!!!!

he has got 2 bottom teeth & top ones are coming through, so he being grumpy aswell!

He now says mum but only when he upset, says dad all the time & has just started screaming aswell, very very loudly!

nothing else happening here really,

how are all your los??

xxx

wuzzlefraggle · 27/07/2007 20:09

hi babyducky and gingeme

Anna is the same re teeth. she has her bottom two and now her top two are trying to pop through.
I really need to get a baby gate/stair gate things now coz she has just mastered the first stair!!!! eeek! so as soon as my back is turned she is crawling out the living room and heading up the bloomin stairs lol.

hope every1 is doing ok xxx

gingeme · 28/07/2007 11:29

Hi yes it is quiet here lately. Lo is enjoying having his big brothers here
We all went swimming Thursday which was great fun.
His current trick is to take the card out of the Telewest box and chew on it I have done some cunning taping up!!
He is also saying mum and dad and la la la la. Not clapping hands yet but finding great delight in Mummy doing it.

samsmam · 29/07/2007 08:52

Gingeme- LOL at Telewest box being taped up, mine must look the same as yours! LO's trick is to post it between our two dvd players then it falls over the back, I then have to wait for DP to come home before I can change channel. Hopefully the tape will stop little fingers!

Hope everyone is ok- I am absoultely knackered, this pg thing and small child is quite hard work.

EffiePerine · 29/07/2007 09:33

Samsmam: I'm finding it tiring enought wihtout being pg! W is climbing as well - toys nowhere as interesting as standing up . He has 7 teeth and might be getting his eighth if last night is anything to go by...

Rumpel · 29/07/2007 19:59

Hi Everyone,

All moved here now. LO is settling in well - bliss to be able to go to bed and read now . Nightmare today though as it is back to just the 2 of us, my Mammy, SIL and neice are all away now, after staying for a few days. DH is away too - working abroad for a week. She was horrendous today as not getting all the attention and I am still trying to unpack, clean, do garden etc etc.

Have had a good exploration of the new area and have been invited around to my next door neighbours tomorrow to meet her friends and have a blether! We are going to make a concerted effort to be more sociable with our neighbours here now that we have LO.

One of the local gyms has a creche yippee which means I can go to the gym, swimming, steam during the day. Still need to lose a stone.

How are all you pg ladies getting on? How long until the pink/blue scan Gingeme?

Youngmum - have you found a new job yet?

Hope all is well with you.

Still only 2 teeth here and rolling rolling rolling, she manouveres around on the spot and just rolls to where she wants to go She sat up by herself for the first time today though.

Glad your move went well Rumple. 4 weeks to go till my pink/blue scan. Went to a baptism today and a friend of mine who has a 6 week old baby boy, gave me a big bag of new born baby stuff. Mostly neutral with a few blue bits. She also has 2 daughters and says she wont give me any pink till my scan in case it jinx's it.
EffiePerrin 8 teeth! W is doing well. Edward still only has 4 and 2 popping through either side of the top two but hes been dribbling for England again and had a sore bum the past few days so Ill keep an eye out. Hes taken a few bites on dh's shoulder which I find so funny. Obviously I dont taste nice
Well my parents are coming tomm to see my big boys so Ive got housework to do in the morning. samsam knackered or what? I actualy went to bed this afternoon for a kip which I never ever do unless Im mega poorly. Just couldnt keep awake. Didnt feel any better for it though
Anyway enough of my jabbering off to bed now.
Night all xxx

catgirl · 31/07/2007 14:51

Hi all ? long time no type! All fine here, spent the weekend camping at womad ? or womud - festival ? sort of fun, but challenging due to mud ? both boys loved it though, so maybe again next year. Not the most relaxing sleep in the world between a 9 month old (his hand in my face) and a 4 year old (his knees in my back) with a toy metal car in my bum on an airbed that is slowly losing its air! But they were cuddly!

Ds2 crawling now ? getting quicker and quicker, so stair gates have gone up, he has 3 teeth, but looks like another 3 waiting to pop through any day. Making lots of noise and still mostly a happy chappy.

Will scan thread now and see who is up to what. Have forgotten who is expecting again, apart from Gingeme, so hope all the pgs are going well. Hoping to visit a friend on Saturday who had a boy on 1 June ? have to confess that have no broody feelings at all when I speak to her and hear about newborn stuff!

princessllama · 31/07/2007 19:27

hi all. knackered here too samsmam and gingeme. am now looking fat/sort of pg. only 10 weeks. someone asked me at work yesterday if i was. been on a really non-holiday holiday in scotland. lots of non baby friendly people and non baby friendly place to stay. dh fishing half the time too-never again, spent half the time crying esp with pg hormones.
hi catgirl, was thinking about you this evening when put lo to bed and remembering your wise words about cotbumpers ages ago. (it's me, marthahm).well done for getting to womad-impressive effort.
we went to the zoo today and almost keeled over with exhaustion!

gingeme · 31/07/2007 20:29

princessllama forgot you were pg too. Apart from the exhaustion and crappy holiday how you doing? Im ready for bed about 9.30 most nights

Mellin · 01/08/2007 08:52

Hi all,
Yay for the summer weather arriving... finally! It makes my day so much easier to be able to take dd to the park or sit in our tiny garden. She is so much happier when she is outside.

In the Mellin household we have 2 teeth and lots of movement. Nina is rolling everywhere and as just figured out how to get onto all fours, so crawling can't be too far away. Damn, am going to have to baby-proof the house now.

For those with stairgates, do you have to type that screws into the wall or the pressure mounted ones? Are the pressure mounted ones still strong? I don't want to screw them into the wall if I don't have to, but I also don't want dd tumbling down the stairs if they aren't strong enough.

samsmam · 01/08/2007 09:12

Mellin- I have got two screw in the wall ones and two pressure ones. The pressure ones are really strong but they have a bar across the floor that takes a bit of time to get used to stepping over. Lots of stubbed toes here!! The screw in the wall ones are good as they are just a swing open gate but the holes in walls are a problem, we rent so I'm not too bothered. I'd go for the screw ones each time.

Princessllama- good to hear from you.
Sorry to hear about your holidays. I am looking pg now ot sure how much longer I can keep it a secret.

Yay, for sunshine- off for a picnic today.

gingeme · 01/08/2007 09:39

Mellin we only need a stairgate on our kitchen door because we live in a flat. I use the pressure ones because we have crap hollow walls.
Were off to the park soon too to meet friends.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone

catgirl · 01/08/2007 15:35

oh princessllama - I would have cried too at that sort of trip - at least womad every other person seemed to have children and we stayed in the family campsite, so no one seemed to mind little ones running around.

No idea what my wise words were about cot bumpers.... but kind of you to think of me!

To those that are expecting again: are you on the same post-nat and ante-nat threads now?? How funny!

We have 5 (count 'em) stairgates - all screw in ones, as a friend had the pressures ones and I did keep stubbing my goes, tripping up - but that could just be me! Two have gone back up (at the top of stairs), don't think ds2 has figured out how to climb yet!

I am ready for bed at 9:30 most nights and I am not pg! So if I was I'm not sure I could get out of bed!

DS1 getting very excited by the thought of his birthday party - haven't even set a date yet (early Sept), can't decide whether to do it before school starts or a few weeks later - he starts reception the day after his 5th birthday... give me something to think about when not on here I guess.

Gosh this is long, must get on with some work, otherwise I won't be able to afford a party at all! enjoy the sunshine!

taffy101 · 02/08/2007 21:25

Hey catgirl, my dd is starting school in sept too - she was only 4 in july tho so she is virtually a year younger than your ds1. I keep thinking when the time comes I will actually get opportunity to give lo 100% attention for the first time - poor little thing, I feel i haven't played with him half as much as i did dd.
Have the party before school - you won't have to invite so many!!! I am a mean mummy.

Just come back from a week in north wales - weather not great but was relaxing.

Just looked at your pics samsmam - v. cute.

We don't have crawling here yet, just wriggling round the room and frustration at not getting where wanted! No stairgates yet although kitchen one still up from dd. You soon get used to the 'stubbing toe variety'

Have decided to go back to work on 1 October , so am in the throes of organising a childminder - sadly the one dd went to doesn't have a vacancy so will have to delve through the surestart website. hohum

catgirl · 03/08/2007 11:57

hi taffy - whereabouts in NWales were you? Are you from that way (with that name!) - I am! Plan to be up there in August for a week visiting my parents. My mum says it is very hot there at the mo!

I agree with you on the party front ie before school so don't have to invite so many - my dh thought I was a bit mean, but ds1 hasn't mentioned any nursery friends he wants to invite (out of sight I think). We will send birthday cake in with him on his first day, so can kind of share it then I think. Am also trying to give him freedom to invite who he wants, rather than my friends with kids, but feel this will be a mindfield, esp as ds1 hasn't mentioned a certain boy we don't see too often, but I am good friends with his mum (she is ds1s godmother!) - aghh. Again, dh thinks it is easy and I should either invite all or just tell her! To be honest, I get a bit stressed at the whole party thing, especially if it rains and they all have to be indoors. Of course, ds2 being an October babe will have to be indoors, so I had better get less stressed!

good luck finding a childminder - I had to pay ours a retainer from when ds2 was 6 weeks old to keep a place, but for me that peace of mind was invaluable - and I knew pretty much when I was coming back. you going back full or part time? (I actually typed party time then! )

happy weekend y'all - sun seems to be shining out there (very difficult to see much I am on top (at the top!) of a tall tower!)

catgirl · 03/08/2007 11:59

by the way, don't feel bad about not giving your 2nd the same level of attention you did with the first - they also have an older sibling to look at/play with etc. Took me a while to figure this out! It does ease some of the guilt!

gingeme · 03/08/2007 13:58

Hi catgirl and everyone else a quick news flash lo stood up on his own twice today for about 8 seconds!!!!

samsmam · 04/08/2007 08:07

Our LO's certainly are coming on leaps and bounds.

When is your baby colour scan Gingeme?

I had my first scan on Thursday- I paid for a private one as my NHS one is another 3 weeks away. I just had to see that everything was ok as I was just worrying. Anyway I saw the little thing- 3.04cm!!

Another hot day today by the looks of it. We have a 5 year old birthday party and we are going to attempt to take LO to an Italian restaurant this evening. I really fancy a nice pasta.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Haven't heard from a few people on here for a while, where are you all?
