Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wuzzlefraggle · 07/07/2007 21:55

princess - a few people have mentined cc to me to, but i dont have the heart to do it.

rumpel, hope alls alright....whats wrong?

Mellin · 08/07/2007 15:19

Wuzzle - I think you have the right attitude, co-sleeping is only a problem if you yourself think it's a problem. Personally I like it (it's only dh's drunken shite ideas that I don't like, which he apologised for btw). I reckon there must be karma involved too. Because we did it hard in the baby sleeping stage we get to miss out on stuff like toddler tantrums and the like .
I have wondered about the bf/sleep issue as well. I'm sure there are loads of bottle feeders who are bad sleepers, and plenty of bf babies who are great sleepers. But there does seem to be quite alot of bf babies this age who aren't sleeping through yet. hmmmmmmmm

Princess - sympathies for your sleeping woes while pg, must be worse. I remember being pg and wanting to sleep loads. Would have an afternoon nap AND go to bed around 8pm. How long till you let the family know the good news?

How about this for a birthday present..... some friends came over for a bbq yesterday and bought dh's birthday present. A whole leg of Iberian ham. It's like one of those legs you see in tapas bars hanging from the roof. It is HUGE (8kg). We will be eating ham for months. dh is a real foodie so it's a great present (jealous I didn't think of it myself actually).

Good evening ladies I hope all is well. We went to a fair today and spent loads on ds3 on rides. Lo just watched it all in wonder. My parents came up for the weekedn and dh and I went out together childless Sat night for the first time in I dont know how long. It was lovely though we talked about the kids nearly the whole time
Lol princessllama I ask myself the same question all the time
Im going for a scan tomm morning at 9am. Cant wait. Going on my own though as dh will be taking ds3 to school. One of you clever ladies will have to tell me how you get pics on the profile so I can put my scan pics on.
Well I hope you all had a good weekend. Take care all x

babyducky · 08/07/2007 21:16

evening everyone

hope everyones ok.

Whats wrong rumpel???

Kai is sleeping well in his own room, I'm still trying to get used to it though, keep sneaking in there in the middle of the night to check on him!
Our bedroom seems huge now without a cot in there!!!

hope you've all had a good weekend

xxx

Rumpel · 08/07/2007 21:22

Hi All,

I am fine just very annoyed and irritated yesterday by DH. MEN! Drive you insane in the brain sometimes. He was off Friday and we have been clearing out the loft and packing since then- house was in total chaos, however, bit more organised today. Boxes stacked ceiling high in the nursery and dininfg area - only 1 week to go.

Amber is rolling and rolling so I cleaned all the laminate as all the loft stuff is DUSTY as anything.

Do you think when you are bf baby possibly needs the comfort thing at night? Do any of you up in the night use a dummy? In saying that Amber awoke at 3am for a chat and huge fart! She is very unsettled just now what with all the chaos.

Last day at pole dancing tomorrow - not sure if I will graduate in Level 2 as there is 1 move, swinging backwards, that I cant do - mental block, scared of falling back and off the pole Also my right hand is covered in blisters now from the last 3 weeks classes. [ouch emoticon]

SAMSMAM - did you get an outfit?

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 09/07/2007 09:29

Was away at the weekend (work, nothing exciting) and DS only woke twice, once for milk . Tried to replicate last night with DH dealing with wakings before 2am, but he sussed out I was there and yelled till I appeared. Still, he only woke 3 times which is a huge improvement for us. He now shuffles about in his cot until he's sleeping on his tummy . Also means that he is happy to stay in the cot (for the time being ).

Samsmam: how did the wedding go?

Gingeme: good luck for the scan

Rumpel · 09/07/2007 11:19

Morning All,

GINGEME - well? How did it go? I found the scans quite uncomfortable as they press really hard on your tum dont they?

Effie - My LO was shuffuffling most of the night - I was up and down like a yo yo and in the middle of the night found her fast asleep on her tum! She is just absolutely delighted with herself for being able to roll onto her tum now.
Of course it means she is now into everything

Consequently feel like a half shut knife today. Am hoping when we finally move she settles down as she will be in her own room and all the moving hoo ha will be over and done with - Ill just be unpacking for about 6 months

totallyfloaty35 · 09/07/2007 11:47

gingeme, how was the scan? my lo woke at 4am and screamed alot,i kept popping her soother back in and after about 40mins she gave up and went back to sleep,a huge improvement on the night before where she yelled from midnight to 3am(i had her in with me by 1am as she kicks the cot sides and i couldnt take the noise of that as well, but when she is near me she tries to hold on to me,which i dont mind, but she also pinchs me and digs her nails into me repeatedly and it really hurts)last night i wouldnt get her out of her cot,i cant take the pain
anyone elses baby pinch?i cant seem to get her nails short enough to stop her hurting me and she gets really upset if i shout ow and starts screaming like shes the one who got hurt

wuzzlefraggle · 09/07/2007 15:00

Mellin - I decided to take the attitude i have because it was just doing my head in that i was worrying all the time...i was freaking out that what i was doing wasnt right or good enough, then i just thought sod it...anna is happy and in general a lovely child, i aint gonna worry

lol i think i may be turning anna into a tom-boy...we went to argos today and bought a really cool inflatable pirate ship thats a ball pit for her we've not put it up yet tho

i need eyes in the back of my blummin head...she's crawling and pulling herself up on everything, gawd lol

EffiePerine · 09/07/2007 15:03

Love the idea of the pirate ship Wuzzle

Pssst: anyone with a non-sleeping baby have a look here . If you'd like to get involved please CAT me. Or just have a read to reassure yourselves .

gingeme · 09/07/2007 15:43

Sounds like your doing just the right thing totaly by not picking baby up every time and letting her realise that the cot is her bed. Sorry but Im a firm believer of baby in cot Mum in bed. lo tried that one on me a few times but I do the pick up put down method which works like a charm.
I had a briliant morning. I had my nuchul scan which was excelent and all the measurements are all ok. Baby was realy wriggly so the sonographer had a bit of trouble doing the measurements but I didnt mind because it gave me a good long look at he/she.
Then I got home to find my maternity trousers had arrived from Ebay. Tried them on to find £20 in the pocket and they fit fine with lots of room for growth.
Then we went to my mil's for yummy lunch.
Home now relaxing for five minutes cause my ds's are napping
Bought a new grobag for lo too. Its 12months-3 years. It has poppers on the bottom that you undo as lo gets bigger. Very nice.
How are you feeling samsam?

wuzzlefraggle · 09/07/2007 16:11

gingeme - glad that the scan went well

youngmum21 · 09/07/2007 19:51

gingeme · 09/07/2007 20:00

Thanks wuzzle
Hi youngmum. Oh dear doesnt sound too good on the job front. Why do you think that? Bit hit and miss with a beaker here. Tell your dh if you wait till you can afford another lo you never will and now would be the perfect time before you get rid of all the baby stuff and have to buy all new in a couple of years or so

babyducky · 09/07/2007 20:09

hellooooooooooooooooo! Youngmum!!!

Kai either drinks out of a bottle or one of them doidy cups.

thats ok, fingers crossed for the job!x

samsmam · 10/07/2007 07:51

Glad your scan went ok Gingeme- seems like a lifetime away for my first one! I'm ok- feel ill from about 8pm each night and keep waking up then until I get up and eat my shreddies I am no use to anyone. Finding it really tiring at moment.

LO drinks from a tommee tippee beaker for breakfast and 2pm feed- no need for mummy. I still give the bedtime feed from the bottle- it gives me that closeness and cuddle for the day.

EP- Wedding is this Saturday- I got LO's dress and shoes and I got myself a skirt.
skirt
No shoes or top yet. I must go shopping today or tomorrow- can you tell my excitement!!!

EffiePerine · 10/07/2007 09:15

Love the skirt Samsmam . I saw someone wearing something similar in the City the other day and it's a very flattering shape. What about a strappy top under a cardi? I found strappy tops so useful in pg and after the birth, as I could stick them under anything.

DS has a cold, so do I and DH not feeling too great either. Going to be a fun week...

Rumpel · 10/07/2007 11:05

Morning all,

Fingers crossed for the job Youngmum - what is it? Maybe your boss is jealous - has she got any LOs?

Samsmam - nice skirt - looks elegant and comfy. What colour did you get? I second the strappy tops - wore them all the time when pg and still do as HOT HOT HOT!

It is I have so many clothes in different sizes now (everything from the loft is in the dining area/lounge now). From 14 - 20 and maternity! I so need bras as I have gone back to my pre pg size but am refusing to buy any as I have the right size in 1 of the boxes. I am going to have a huge carboot sale when we settle into the new area. My diet has gone AWOL at the mo as I am exhausted. A was up from 2.30am until 4am - she is so unsettled just now and I have so much to do, so I am craving sweet stuff in the day to keep me going - and indulging in Mothers ruin every night

Graduated in Level 2 poledancing yesterday Am quite glad not to be doing it for a while now though as my right hand and fingers are covered in blisters - they heal in time for the following week then burst again - bleurgh!

GINGEME - do you feel your LOs moving earlier with each pg or are they all different?

Well must go - coffee and biccie break over things to do whilst LO is asleep (finally).

OP posts:
Rumpel · 10/07/2007 11:08

By the way - I am not using a beaker at all for A, she gets milk in her bottle and everything else in a doidy cup. Takes a wee while for them to get used to it, they have a very funny expression on their face to begin with, but she loves it now - especially apple juice and water.

babyducky · 10/07/2007 11:26

hi all,

well done with the pole dancing rumpel!!!

nice skirt samsmam,

I need to find something to wear for kais christening, any ideas anyone?
I'm not exactly sure what your meant to wear for a christening, dont wanna look too dressed up, but not a scruff bag either! Was thinking some kind of dress???

Kai was awake loads last night he's got a cold & another tooth coming i think, ending up sleeping with us in the end. V tired today!

have a good day ladies, x
