Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Must be a spate of unsettledness. We had a rough night though not because of lo it was ds3. He was poorly and sick at one point. About 2am trouble is every time he woke lo woke too. Its much easier to get a 3 year old to back to sleep than a grumpy 8 month old. All finaly settled about 3.30 and ds3 is right as rain today. Typical
Lol at nothing is safe wuzzle. We went to Ikea yesterday. Im looking for a glass display cabinet as we have a lot of dolphin ornaments and dh collects dragon ornaments. But walking round the only thing we could consider was little fingers which can very easily open glass cabinet doors. Found a lovely one with a lock. Collecting it Saturday. We shall see

babyducky · 04/07/2007 12:15

hi all,
been away for weekend, kai been very unsettled too, screamed nearly all night sunday, was in pain with his tooth coming through i think.
He would only calm down with dp aswell, kept pushing me away from him!

& we have been up since 3am today with him aswell, not grumpy or crying just wide awake & trying to climb on us!

He can now say 'boo' & 'bum' & 'dada' but still not mum!!!

its his last night in our room tonight, gonna put him in his room tomorrow.
Are all your los in their own room or with you still?

hope all u pregnant ladies are feeling ok!

babyducky · 04/07/2007 12:15

oh yeah it is me wuzz! bendy!

Rumpel · 04/07/2007 19:30

Evening All,

Life is very hectic - ytring to do 60 million things at once and DH is driving me MAD GRRRRR! Feeling stressed about the move and am premental too!

Wedding was a complete wash out - pissed it down. Dressed Lo up for all of 15 minutes - some quick photos and she was off (very annoyed with Dh about that one). My lovely red shoes got wasted in the gravel/squidgy lawn. Bloody stupid marquee was away across the garden - had to go over a wooden brideg with slats - so not good when wearing heels.
There was a lady with a 6 week old baby and I had to hold a brolly over them and help across the bridge cos she was holding her LO. Was a bit silly nbot to have thought about ladies in heels FGS. bit of a whinger tonight arent I?

LO looked divine in her outfit though. Photo uploaded for you to peruse!

Poor pg ladies - must be really hard going feeling so exhausted and with LO LOs to look after - is the heat bothering you all?

Only 10 days to move - agggggg! Night out tomorrow with all my old colleagues going 10 pin bowling. Think I may have a bevy and let my hair down a bit!

DUCKY - A is still in with me cos her room isnt big enough for her cotbed! She will be in her own room in the new house - so looking forward to being able to read in bed again - heaven.

Cuddled 2 wee babies at wedding - 1 6 week old boy and 1 8 month old girl - aww am defo broody.

Do any of you smoke. I gave up as soon as I found out I was pg but just today I could really go one - think it is because I feel pressured. Sorry for moaning and rambling on .......

EffiePerine · 04/07/2007 20:21

The dress is gorgeous Rumpel! Sorry the rain spolit your shoes. We were inside most of the time (ceremony and reception in hotel) but out on the lawn for photos and my heels sank in as well!

MIL hasn't smoked for 18 months and she was dying for a fag at the weekend - all the stress plus dealing with her ex's family (who behaved pretty well for the most part). DH hasn't smoked for nearly 2 years and he still goes through bad patches - it is a v difficult habit to break. Well done for getting this far! BIL was giving up as well (it's a smoking family ) but cracked on the night before his wedding...

samsmam · 04/07/2007 20:26

You rant away Rumpel- get it all out your system you'll feel better! Can always trust good old weather to ruin stuff!
Your LO looks beautiful in that dress, I need to go dress shopping still the wedding is next weekend! I may just end up in Monsoon yet!!

Heat! LOL, part of me is glad that its not boiling hot but a bit of sunshine would be appreciated. Although I am really hot at night, DP and I fight over window open/closed!

Very tough work being pg and having an LO, oh well the end result will be worth all this hard work!

gingeme · 04/07/2007 20:40

Oh poor you Rumpel though fantastic dress (let this one be a girl, let this one be a girl, let this one be a girl) oh sorry did I say that out loud?!!!
Lo is standing in his cot now. Greeted me with a fantastic smile when I went to get him from his nap as if to say'look what I can do Mummy'. Hes up on everything now. Just waiting for something to go thud
know what you mean about the window samsam. I used to hate having the window open at night (saw a scary movie once where a man got in a window and slaughtered all the people) though we live 3 storys up!
Anyway since being preg with ds3 Ive never had it shut unless its freezing outside ofcourse.
Any more joy on the sleeping front Effieperrin since your lo's dirupted weekend?

samsmam · 04/07/2007 20:43

Gingeme- do you have a lift? I am worried as I live up one story and thinking double buggies and getting two children up the stairs? I'll be a prisoner!

samsmam · 04/07/2007 20:43

Gingeme- do you have email?

gingeme · 04/07/2007 20:51

Yeah samsam my email address is [email protected]. No we dont have a lift because we dont have enough floors but all the flats have sheds built in downstairs if that makes sense so I put the buggy in there and carry the boys up. Well David walks up unless Daddys about and he gets a lift uo with lo

samsmam · 04/07/2007 21:15

Wow-thats a workout three flights of stairs and LO. Hope you take it easy climbing all those stairs and carrying LO. I have to get up concrete stairs as I live above shops. Nowhere to leave buggy so I drag it up and down the steps. Sometimes I leave the buggy in the car and carry LO up.
Flats can be a problem!

EffiePerine · 04/07/2007 21:40

Gingeme: sleep still a Problem, so am co-sleeping as much as possible and trying not to worry about it. He's still waking for a feed every couple of hours. Nothing we try seems to help so am slacking for the time being!

Samsmam: were in a first floor flat as well, but we leave the buggy in the downstairs hall. Lugging shopping and DS upstairs is a pain, though.

gingeme · 04/07/2007 21:50

No our stairs are in the middle of the flats ifyswim which means we have a landing which is great for birthday parties cause then you dont have to have loads of kids running through the flat The stairs do me in every time but it keeps me fit
samsam you can email me any time.

EmilyandLola · 06/07/2007 11:38

Hiya, am busy packing up house in prep for the move, boring!

Lola was weighed this week, 19lb 2oz and 74 cm long... all ok apparently x

samsmam · 06/07/2007 13:19

Think the weather is supposed to be brighter this weekend- we shall see.

Nothing interesting planned the tour de france is coming through Gravesend on Sunday-thats the excitment! I have to go dress shopping tomorrow for me and LO. Not looking forward to that.

Good luck with the move Em, we just found out we can stay in our rented place for another two years at least, so that has put my mind at rest.

EffiePerine · 06/07/2007 13:24

Samsmam: there are some lovely dresses in Monsoon atm and there may even be a sale on! I got a red linen dress for the wedding last weekend and it was a success

Mellin · 06/07/2007 18:44

EP - plenty of co-sleeping going on in the Mellin household too. I'm only bf once or twice a night but she wakes numerous times and just won't settle. I have gone past the sleep enforcer/she MUST sleep in her cot gungho attitude I had a couple of months ago because frankly I am knackered and it's a coping mechanism now. dh and I are fine with it, well I thought we were until he came home after the cricket at 2am last night half lashed and thought it would be a good time to tell me that we shouldn't bring dd in our bed anymore because it is teaching her bad habits. Then fell into a deep drunken, snoring sleep and conveniently didn't hear her wakings after 2am. I WAS SO MAD. I am waiting for him to get home now so we can have a "discussion" about exactly what he meant.

Rumpel · 06/07/2007 21:17

Evening All,

With all my whingeing the other day forgot to say that Amber was 9 months old on Wednesday - which means she has been out as long as she was in

Had a lovely night out last night ten pin bowling (am pants) with all my old colleagues (who are very good friends)They all signed a card for me and out a £50 note in it I will really miss them when we move but they will visit. Looking forward to meeting new friends too. DH took the day off and we spent all day clearing out the loft Fish supper and carrot cake for dinner - bang goes the weight loss this weekend!

Amber is just spending all day rolling and rolling now - she can even stand up (whilst being held) for a good wee while now - at last she has discovered what her legs are for
EMILYANDLOLA - are you moving far away?

GINGEME - how are you getting on with real nappies?

Much sympathy to all thos poor souls who are still up during the night - must be really tiring. Is it cos you are still bf or is it habit or what? My poor SIL is still up feeding her LO twice in the night too.

SAMSMAM - when is the wedding? How about DP - they have a sale on just now. Maybe a nice floaty maxi dress? Are you still pear shaped or have your boobs grown with this pg now? I always favour wrap dresses cos they suit our pear shapes!

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 07/07/2007 07:08

Mellin: DH has a habit of throwing out these comments as well - I just give him an evil stare and ignore! I think they're off the cuff suggestions rather than serious plans, but they are bl**dy irritating!

DS had a dreadful night: yelling even when in bed with us and feeding so I suspect teeth again - think the eye teeth are coming through. He is also 9 months today!

samsmam · 07/07/2007 07:17

Rumpel- wedding is next Saturday. -(14th) I am going out with my mum this morning. I remember during this first bit of pregnancy last time- everything looks awful on. My boobs have grown a bit but still a bit pear! I maybe will look at a skirt at top now. Who knows I'll let you know!

for EP. I can't imagine LO waking in the night she has slept from 3 months all night. Maybe I'll be in trouble with the next one!! Those 'eye' teeth the ones either side of top front teeth? LO has them and she had a horrible cold for two weeks and bright red cheeks for most of that- they are thru now. Phew.

Rumpel · 07/07/2007 11:57

Just want to sream AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGG GRRRRRRRRR! [very annoyed and irritated emoticon]
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 07/07/2007 14:55

Mellin and EP, my lo is still waking once or twice a night too, so im slacking and being a naughty mummy by doing co-sleeping lots too (slap on wrist). I am too still breastfeeding, and am wondering if this has something to do with it....not sure.....Im just used to it now though lol and im trying not to let myself worry too much about the co-sleeping. everything will work out fine, and if it takes until when i stop breastfeeding, then thats that. every baby is different, and as anna is a happy, contented and good baby, i aint a-worrying lol

wuzzlefraggle · 07/07/2007 14:55

ooo, rumpel, what was the scream for lol???

samsmam · 07/07/2007 19:46

Rumpel you ok?

princessllama · 07/07/2007 20:19

rats, posted long message yesterday pm and it didn't go on.
we're having to resort to co sleeping here too quite alot. am praying is the teeth, can't cope like this forever. people keep mentioning controlled crying .
