Love weekends. Dh has taken grumpy baby for a walk and I am going to have a shower where i can take my time and shave my furry legs.On workdays I usually end up jumping out half way through because George is screaming like someone is trying to kill him.

We're going to a barbeque this afternoon am taking G's uv tent as the forecast is good so I don't want to be indoors all afternoon. It's a birthday barbeque. The magic soporific effects of baby massage yesterday meant I was able to bake and ice a very naughty chocolate cake for the birthday girl(31).

CD hope sil's wedding goes well. I'm sure you and the girls will look gorgeous.

Hope everyone else has some fun this weekend

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/06/2007 11:04

CD, have a great time at the wedding hun.

Lesley, enjoy the birthday BBQ.

Off out for Pizza lunch and a river walk, so see you later lovelies. x

Eddas · 09/06/2007 11:19

I am 40%, I'm a good girl me Don't think i'd want anyone to see the actual answers I gave though!

We put ds in his own room to sleep last night. He went down awake and fell asleep on his own(my tiny little boy's all grown up!) but I went into his room at about 11.30 to put some clothes away and he started choking.Good timing though I guess Poor little thing has one of those colds where you get phelm(SP?) stuck in your throat. So once he'd settle again I wouldn't let him go back in his cot, he came in our room again,LOL. DH just laughed at me for being a big softie!

DD is 3 tomorrow, having a sort of party today, just a couple of my friends bringing their dc's over so not too manic!! My dad brought her a lovely cake. It is a little OTT but lovely, dd will adore it as it's a pink castle. She requested a princess cake and I think it qualifies?!

We put some balloons up last night and one decided to pop of it's own accord and ds didn't even stir This child jumps at a sneeze or cough but not at a really loud bang, how weird are babies?!

best get off my a**e and do a bit of cleaning/tidying before 2 when friends'll be here. I HATE cleaning/tidying

Enjoy your weekends folks, back on later if I can or tomorrow

Peshatilsome1findsmeanewname · 09/06/2007 12:41

CD - have a great time at the wedding and make sure to get plenty of pics of you and your littleys looking gorgeous

Katy44 · 09/06/2007 17:32

47% - thought it would be lower
Did anyone else find themselves saying "Yes, but not at the moment"?

mammyjo · 09/06/2007 17:59

Hi all. Just dropping in quickly, busy enjoying the beautiful weather. Have actually had quite a productive day. Have made a chicken tikka masala for dinner later, just need to heat it up. Have also made a delicious fridge cake which is basically chocolate, maltesers, twix, rice krispies and cake!! Oh and a few raisins for the health concious among you too!! Its chilling as I type and it looks pretty good. About to pop open a nice bottle of red for this evening too. F still not sleeping much in the day but seems more settled generally and more happy to play under the baby gym so I get a bit of a chance to get a few things done.

Take care all xxxx

nuttygirl · 09/06/2007 18:44

Ooohhhhh Mammyjo, forget the raisins but can I come for fridge cake!!!????

CD - hope you're enjoying the wedding.

Eddas - my LO jumps and wakes up for sneezes/coughs but not much else strange, isn't it?

Felt bad this lunchtime - as I was lifting Erin out of moses basket the chair tipped a bit and she got a bit of a shock and started screaming (not that I'd dropped her or anything), then when I started feeding her I sneezed and she got another shock and screamed all the way through her feed .

Hi SOKL!

Erm...I've forgotten everything else

nuttygirl · 09/06/2007 18:45

Oh yeah, I've got a couple of bottles of wine in. I just hope they're better than the last one!

mammyjo · 09/06/2007 18:47

Plenty of fridge cake to go round, its quite large!!

bumble75 · 09/06/2007 19:30

Hmmmm, that fridge cake sounds yum!

Had a good day today - after 2 approx good sleeps with brief feeding interludes, L did two huge poos this morning (that wasn't the good bit, just a relief as she hadn't had one for awhile) then I managed to add to my supply of expressed milk (got 5 oz which was loads) to take to lunch which was gorgeous - we sat in the sun, I fed L and then she went back to sleep, bless her. I even had a cheeky glass of wine! Then went for a drive to follow the sun as the clouds had moved in on Edinburgh and she stayed sleeping - god bless the car! Staying in tonight to watch finale of Joseph show with pizza.

WO - love your idea of taking extra to decant as you need it.

Hope everyone is well and CD that the wedding was good today.

Hugs

bumble75 · 09/06/2007 19:32

p.s. Was 57% slutty, would have been a very different score before dh came along....

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/06/2007 20:28

Evening loves.

MJ, the cake sounds deeelicious!

CD, hope you had a lovely day at the wedding.

Big shout out to everyone else, and at Pesha and her 80%!

Had a lovely day today, and the 2 girls are bathed and in bed - HURRAH! Don't think we will be getting a big sleep through though as K didn't get through all her milk as she was absolutely out of it!

Going to have a glass of red and watch the Grease finale!

Hope everyone is well and have had good days. Have lovely evenings gorgeous ladies. xx

elkiedee · 09/06/2007 22:27

Well, Danny met his aunt Rachel this evening. He's already met Sian, my sister from my mum's second marriage. Rachel is my sister from my dad's second marriage! My dad brought Rachel and her fiance Ed round (their wedding is next month and we went out to a Turkish restaurant about halfway between here and my dad's flat.

Danny was pretty quiet - it's not his first time in a cafe or restaurant but it was the first time we've been for an evening meal with him - I guess we were in there for just over 2 hours in total.

LesleyR · 09/06/2007 23:18

Well the barbeque was lovely.
We arrived early and it was just as well because George was hot and tired and squealed and grizzled for an hour and a half. I was banished to the spare room to settle him and by the time most guests had arrived he'd fallen asleep.
He slept for 3 and a half hours and I was able to socialise and eat undisturbed The chocolate cake went down really well. G woke up when it was cooler and the sun had gone in and was cute and smiley and got lots of fuss for an hour before we came home.
He pretty much went straight to bed when we came in rapidly followed by DH who is a bit squiffy. Going to see if I can squeeze in a quick shower before he wakes for next feed(feel v sticky).
Hope you all had good Saturdays. Goodnight.

nuttygirl · 09/06/2007 23:20

Hi Lesley & Elkie!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 09/06/2007 23:31

pleased you had a lovely day yesterday cd!!

octo · 10/06/2007 07:04

bleary eyed good morning - ds3 up 3 times and ds2 up twice... knackered! DH was out all day yesterday playing golf so he is so on duty today ... just need to wake him up!

ds3 being very good really - can't complain and feeding still going really well. My sister visited yesterday with her boys - was really lovely - then got paddling pool out etc and enjoyed the sun!

For the first time in ages I can actually say my house is clean! Am busy looking for dining room furniture still - dh thinks he has seen a nice set in a local shop so will go look at that thihs week and we are going to turf our front garden which has been somewhat of a wilderness for about 6 years and (phew) we are about the replace the downstairs cloakroom and get the kitchen measured to be replaced ...... busy busy busy busy

... and don't know if you remember from last september but I organised a sustainability event for our green village thing - well its coming round again so have started booking stands and speakers etc! I have told them that someone else has to do the overall running - just can't with ds3 - so am doing the stands and helping direct them with the other stuff. This year the focus is recycling and children and the launch of our giant green man - wait for it 'eco-ernie' !!!!! They are designing the costume now .... (man size not baby size!)

ds3 can now do a full 360 degree turn in his cot at night and he is only 7 weeks

Sexonknackeredlegs · 10/06/2007 08:02

Morning all.

CD, so glad you had a good day and hoping that you all get a lie in.

Leley, glad the BBQ went well.

Hi Elkie, Octo and GMM!!

Had another good night here. Thought K would wake in the night as she only took 4 oz's at 7.30 p.m., but she slept until 6.00, so not too bad really.

Hot here already at 8.00 a.m. God knows what it will be like later on.

Going to see my midwife (friend) today in their new house which used to belong to a footballer!

Hope everyone is well, and that you all have lovely days.

xx

Hello! Been keeping up but no time to post, logged on 5 times yesterday only to read the latest and then had to dash again. To keep you up to date (cross posted in breast and bottlefeeding):

Sorry an update has been delayed but it´s been a hectic few days around here. We went to the surgeon on friday and he clipped the tongue tie there and then! I was all prepared to argue it and started listing all the reasons why but he couldn´t have been less interested. He said ´if you are having problems feeding i doubt very much it would be anything to do with this´(!) ´but I´ll cut it anyway´. What a relief. He did cry, it obviously DID hurt but he settled soon enough. They wouldn´t let me feed him (contrary to everything I have heard) and made dh hold gauze in his mouth for 15 mins before we could go. It bled quite a bit and I was so pissed off because I´m sure if I had fed him it would have staunched it quicker. Anyway, the nurse told us to wait another 15mins to feed him but sod that, as soon as I got out of there I stuck him on.

The difference was immediate, it was almost totally painless and what pain/ discomfort there was, was more due to weeks of sensitive and sore nipples than the current latch. I´m SO relieved, his feeding seems quicker and more satisfying for him and easier for me. It´s still not 100% straightforward but he´s only 6 weeks and we´re still figuring it out, although I´m sure we´ll still have hurdles, I feel like we´ve got one big one out of the way. I´ve got renewed hope that I can actually do this..

Hopefully will have time to chat more later, hope you all have lovely Sundays... weather here is HOT. Sunbathed 40mins at my mum´s yesterday and then swam at SILs house in the pm at our niece´s birthday party.. mmm bliss. Pool opens on the 17th and I can´t wait, plan to be up there (mum and N in the shade) everyday if possible..

Katy44 · 10/06/2007 08:46

oh maveta that's fantastic! Hopefully the remains of the soreness will go soon! Enjoy your next feed

Maveta, great news for you and N.

LuceWheel, lovely to see you back, and I am so glad you are settling in well.

Having a really lazy morning. K has been asleep for ages so have had chance to spend some proper time with B, as well as enjoy a lovely Mocha coffee in the garden.
