lazyemma are you and SOKL sharing a child?

only I'm sure that K was on SMA then changed to Aptimil cos it didn't agree with her

Ellie, the only time I've posted on an April 2007 thread before was to say how spookily my daughter's evening unsettledness sounded to hers! So they do seem to have some sort of weird baby mind-meld.

Peshatilsome1findsmeanewname · 07/06/2007 22:49

How's this?!

Thought i better change it abit cos theres no way I'll find myself one!

EllieK · 07/06/2007 22:49

that is scary! shame you're in Scotland, we should get them in the same place and see if they look alike

Morning everyone!

Have finally managed to catch up - started to last night while dh was with L. Then of course she let out one whimper which meant we had to bath her (according to him) and then we had dinner and then he hogged the pc for the rest of the night. Grrrr. L being angel and still sleeping so yay, can catch up now!

CD & Elkie - hope you're both doing better after your scares earlier in the week.

Welcome LazyEmma - yay another Scottish mummy - I am in Edinburgh.

WO - was it you asking about nursing room in Jenners? Yes there is one but like someone else said Jenners is such a maze of stairs & not the most buggy friendly so John Lewis might be better.

My next bfing challenge is to express enough to take out with me for a feed. Don't think we're quite up to bfing in public yet as some feeds are still challenging and they can take forever.

She's 4 weeks old - about how much should I be aiming for for a feed? About 4/5 oz just to be sure there's enough for her? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day
xxx

liath · 08/06/2007 08:30

Morning!

Pesha - how about Peshaseph?

Bumble - 4-5 oz should be fine.

Ellie, hope M has a lovely couple of weeks. If dd was away I'd be torn between missing her and relief at having some uninterrupted time with the baby! I think missing her would win out, though.

Dd off to nursery this morning so I'm going to plant out some geraniums (hope the weather brightens up) then am going to my parents' for a few days. Gives DH a chance to get stuck into some revision in peace.

Katy44 · 08/06/2007 09:10

JoPesha?
Don;t mind if you hate it, I'm terrible with things like this

[smug]
Had a fantastic night last night!! T slept from 10 until half 4, then half 5 until 8.15, by which time I was almost out of the shower! I slept from 11 until 8, obviously getting up for the feed with him
Am I obsessed?

liath · 08/06/2007 09:15

Makes you feel more human, doesn't it Katy? Ds down to one night feed for the last 3 nights too, fantastic.

geordiemacminx · 08/06/2007 09:34

charlie has slept from 10 til 4ish the past few nights too.... think its all the travelling we've done!!!!

Peshatilsome1findsmeanewname · 08/06/2007 09:47

Ellie - hats? sunglasses?

Peshatilsome1findsmeanewname · 08/06/2007 10:09

Dylan fell asleep bit before 10 last night, i carried him up to bed at midnight and he went back to sleep till 2 couldnt believe it, 4.5 hours is a record for him! But then woke at 4 and 6 and after that was feeding on and off til 8 when i suddenly realised what the time was and had to get up! But its lovely to feel like we're getting there even if we're not quite there yet.

Like the names thankyou I also thought of pesheph but not sure any of them flow iykwim but maybe they need to grow on me. Dont know why im masking such a big deal about a nickname for an internet chat room but i cant help it. Its a wonder i ever managed to come up with names for my dc at all!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 08/06/2007 10:16

Morning. Apologies for disappearing last night. Dh took over the laptop as his had died.

Well after being smug re K, she woke at 3.30 for a bottle, shat for England and both of us needed clean nightwear!!

Feel shattered which is a pita as am driving to meet my cousin for lunch today and was hoping to look radiant!!

Ellie, you are right. K was on SMA and we changed as too rich for her!
Hope M has a lovely holiday and you too can relax and enjoy, tho of course you will miss him.

Emma, does sound as though we have similar dd's! Were you also experiencing the crying out in pain when feeding?

How is everyone else?

Need to go as feeding time at the zoo - being licked as I type and then off out.

Love to all and see you later. xx

weeonion · 08/06/2007 10:25

goo dmorning folks! i think the sun is tartingot shine here so we are off out. we are goignto sit in on a baby signing class, then an nct meet up, hook up with a friend who ha just had a baby and then out for dinner with work mates. i am shattered already as c gets up at 1.30 and 4.30 but will be even more so after dashing roud glasgow today!

just wanted to say bumble - like you - i dont really breastfeed in public - hence the need for nursing rooms but i am getting better (think B&Q car park but not in a car!) i tend to bring a bottle of expressed out with me along with a spare bottle and teats etc - and decant into it so as if she isnt hungry at first feed - we still have milk for a top up feed?

weeonion · 08/06/2007 10:26

oh god - just looked at that last post - typo queen!! i really should learn not to type so fast!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 08/06/2007 10:41

Morning! How long will Milk Monster be asleep for this morning .... ....

Great that people seem to be having better nights - we're on one feed a night here too, which is great except that the one feed is usually about 4.30 / 5am ish - and by the time I've fed her, the other two horrors are up - So muchos early mornings for me.

List sounds fine, Ellie - was thinking of sunglasses / sun hat / sun cream type stuff too. Toiletries?? Shoes? (Can't remember if shoes were on there.) Does he have a special comfort / fave book? Hope the "goodbyes" are ok hon.

EllieK · 08/06/2007 12:31

well, I finally went to bed at 4am

think i'll be having a nap or two later

just dropped Matthew off at daddy's, managed not to cry so he didn't get upset too!

I'm worrying about Mike staying up at night with the baby, I keep telling him he needs to wake me up. I tried to help out this morning but the problem with that is I can't do all the other stuff and get myself organised as I need to be before Mike goes off to work leaving me alone with baby.

And the more sleep I have the more I want right now.

Thing is I thought I was longing for some time to myself (well, baby's sleeping though I have to disturb him in a minute or two) but as soon as Mike went out this morning I got all weepy. Pathetic or what?

Hope everyone else is ok, and Ellie, are you getting your nap?

Time to rudely interrupt Danny's sleep again.

foxybrown · 08/06/2007 15:06

Thought I'd just pop in from June to see how you April mummies were doing.

Lordy, I wish I hadn't - you've just reminded me what I'm in for!

Hope you are all doing OK!

LesleyR · 08/06/2007 16:38

Bit busy to catch up on thread but wanted to say Ellie thanks for email. I fancy swapping George for a baby hedgehog now

Hope you're all well.

EllieK · 08/06/2007 17:21
