KZ - I know it is annoying but it does paint such a cute picture.

Good thinking ladies - I think KBaby is away - Spain maybe?

Bloss - I think DH is near you at the mo (iirc you are in Hampshire?) and he rung me tonight to say there was a massive thunderstorm (think he was a bit scared ) and the hotel kept losing electricity.

Poor Jacob - no suggestions but {{{{hugs}}}} that it gets better

Wallace - lol at Leo - so so very cute

Josh's clever trick for today was we were upstairs (me led on the bed reading Closer, Josh playing on the floor ) - he has a wind-up crocodile (bath toy but never goes near the bath) which was on the floor ar the bottom of our bed. Josh couldn't see it but I said to him 'go and get your crocodile', didn't point or anything and he duly crawled to the bottom of the bed and got the crocodile and bought it back - so not only did he remember where he had left it but he obviously understood 'crocodile' aswell. Am so very proud.

Well better get to bed - Josh is all snotty (think he is teething as has nappy rash too) so think he may be unsettled tonight and I have to be up at 6 for work.

Wallace · 19/06/2007 22:21

you're right bloss! kbaby went to spain, didn't she? I love storms too, lucky you!

kz - love the snapshots of family life

I was going to say something, but can't remember what

Wallace · 19/06/2007 22:24

ceebee - crossed posts (yes it took me that long ) that is so clever of josh!

cup of tea then!

I would love to know how many times a day I say that phrase "I was going to say something, but can't remember what"

hi Girls MIL gone today so will catch up properly soon. Emma going mad crawling around the place, standing up (hanging on to something with just one hand) is scarily accomplished as well now

Not really any recognisable words, but I'm sure her babblings make perfect sense to her. New trick is to cover both her eyes with her hands playing peekaboo so she's obviously very clever . Better get off to bed, DP tutting at my (probably overenthusiastic) re-embracing of my laptop now MIL has gone xxx

Twinklemegan · 19/06/2007 23:38

Hello - just to let you know I'm still here and lurking, but very busy at the mo with my job application and some bigtime swotting up. Wallace - did you see my post a couple of days ago? I'm applying for a job in Inverness - not too far from you!

Aidan's started "posting" things in various places. We keep finding drinks mats behind the piano of all places.

Wallace · 20/06/2007 07:27

wow twinkle! I hope you get it - that would be so cool

kz -

first - hi!

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/06/2007 09:08

Hi CeeBee's DH! [waves]

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 20/06/2007 10:58

Morning Girls!

Rubbish night last night, DS woke whinging for about an hour and a half, DH got up to him, but his noise woke K up, so I was up with her, she wasn't crying, just crawling off and reaching out for Ds... So a very grouchy household this morning. Though it was 8.10 when we finally woke properly! Then I had to rush to get my train.
Can't win.
K is being very cuddly these days, since being in Ireland, she hardly lets go of me. That trip has really messed them up...
Her eczema is still quite bad, (hence no photos lately...) so we're trying the steroid cream again, after not using it for two weeks. And still moisturizing.

She LOVES walking, holding my hands. If she has to stop (due to my breaking back) she objects very loudly, and arches so that you just can't get her to sit or lie down!
Honestly, these independent youngsters. I can't keep up.

KZ, my lab coat is sadly neglected. The only time I wear it is when I'm on lab cleaning duty, once every three months.
Good luck with the Brown Bear saga. It's got to be easier to get a Brown Bear into his own bed than an 11 month old, no? Must try it one of these days. Last night, I had her ass in my face most of the time (when she did actually deign to fall asleep)

Twinkle, best of luck with the job application!

Wallace, good luck with moving down the street and around the corner! At least if you forget something, it's only around the corner and up the street!! LOL at Leo's sock stuffing!!!

Hi First, . Emma does sound very accomplished! Herself and Kayley and Roshi should re-form Destiny's Child.

Ceebee, clever Josh!! Hope he's better soon, poor thing.

Bloss, Mmmm, lasagne!!!

Must go girls, see if I can dig out that lab coat

Annie

up at 5a, here if that is any consolation, but did go to bed at 10pm so at least I get a solid block of sleep.

Am waiting in for the DHL guy to collect this ruddy crib, jeZUZ staying in with two babies is SUCH hard work!! We had done playdoh, telly, painting, telly, bit of reading, telly, footie in the garden bit more telly, all by 11.15am!! They are both in bed now for a bit THANK GOD!!

Steady Annie, this was my lasagne, and as such was rather tasteless and a bit burnt but was so hungry I ate it anyway. DH sensibly reserved judgement for once.

Just found out one of my old Uni mates is pregnant. She is shitting herself, she is still living the life in London, flash job, fantastic social life, out every night, loads of disposable income etc. No-one she knows up there has kids. At all. In fact I think I am the only one she knows that does!! talk about a change of scene....

Right off to catch 40 winks (I hope) while the kids are abed. Have put a note on the door saying "My kids are asleep, please ring my mobile not my door bell". What are the chances of them actually complying?

Bloss

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 20/06/2007 13:51

Hi Bloss
I was thinking of you at about 4.45am, thinking you'd be getting up soon... Getting up at 8.10 though, felt like I'd missed half the day out, as I barely had time to get dressed before I was out the door. Luckily I remembered my shoes this time.
So I don't know what my babies are wearing today!

Has that DHL guy turned up yet

oh there he is
Harry: mumma, Toby's awake...

Least that's how it would go in my place (though obviously not with Harry and Toby)

I had to show my mom how to make lasagne when I was in Ireland. Made one for my newly popped sis. She had never made any pasta of any kind ever! Foreign food...

Anyone got any work for me, I'm rather bored now.

jacobandlysette · 20/06/2007 15:01

hey annie - job for you today - explain to people that when they say they are going to be at my flat in 30 mins to collect keys i expect them to be as i am waiting in for them!!!

the damp guys didn't turn up at 10am at the new place (despite the fact i told them i was making a special trip over there), then said they would collect keys from me near home at 12, now it's 3pm and they were going to be here in 30 mins nearly an hour ago !

but all the carpets have gone so that is something and the painters are starting on friday morning and the plumbers coming monday! just have to order washing machine now...

after all that jacob woke at 12 and 3 last night, then 6am but that is forgiveable - he's got himself back in the habit even though it was 1/2 strength milk all night and not much of it - am going to make it weaker tonight. tbh we don't leave him very long as dh is such a softie, before we go in and he would probably be able to get himself back to sleep but would yell for 10 mins or so. he's not eating much at the moment but i think that is head cold and teeth together (fingers crossed!), so just keeping going. he does seem to be getting heavier still which is something.

and now too loves walking holding onto hands, crawling forward at speed and pulling himself up on everything. he is also particularly fascinated by the tv arial at the new house - the wire coming in through the wall as it's not plugged into anything, and seems to be a jacob magnet!!!

we too had massive thunderstorm last night in west london. dh got soaked coming from the tube station.

must remember to get on in the evenings when everyone is chatting!

o'h and another booze free week so far! although i know it's only wednesday

Beadmum · 20/06/2007 16:59

annie - of course youll need to finish that bottle tonight

hi to everyone ive not mentioned

crazy rain this morning but no storms thankfully now its blue skies and sunny, strangest weather this summer.

charlotte is getting up some speed crawling forwards now and pulling up on everything.

shes just loving books just now, emptys them all out of the box then sits for ages looking at them, she'll also listen to a story and smile at you, like she understanding

HumphreysCorner · 20/06/2007 16:59

Lordy Wallace Get packing mate!

Annie-your job sounds such fun. Why oh why weren't these type of jobs discussed at school?

Not felt well enough to go out today so DH is going to Tescos at lunch time for me. Have played shops and teachers hundreds of times Emma keeps wandering off mid play though-hopefully on her 4th B'Day in July her attention span will increase to 4 mins.

Did I say our boiler has packed up as well as the iron and that next doors dogs (new, so far not met neighbours) keep coming though the hedge and pooing and weeing everywhere. Am refusing to clean it up so DH is having to do it. We have 4 horrible dogs one side and 2 the other-am being punished for some reason. My poor cat is surrounded.

Bought a used swim seat off Ebay but damn thing won't stay up. Best look for a new one instead. Should stay up long enough to use on Friday morning when my SIL takes Em swimming while I go to my last swim class.

Girls are having oven chips and beans tonight as can't be bothered to prepare anything else. Oh and Em has 5 chicken nuggets I have found in the freezer that need eating up. Better check the sell by date.................................March 2007 sure they will be OK-look fine in the oven.

kbaby was going on hols so should be back soon. Panic over.

Better go before I moan anymore. Back later.
