you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

We don't have that obscure channel

kittyhas6 · 06/06/2007 15:15

ooh, is it today ??
The series started on monday. The woman on Monday was making alot of noise, shouting and screaming then afterwards she said that it wasn't painful.
Well if I am on today and you do see it you get a scary close up!!!! Might give you nightmares, you have been warned

foxcub · 06/06/2007 15:23

Can anyone bootleg it for me?

NewMum24Gem · 06/06/2007 15:39

still not managed to have a conversation with you lot yet!
ds is fine. been really ratty this week. been pulling my hair out with stress.
only got 10 weeks paid leave from work left
hes really feeding well in the day time now which i think is helping at nights. he sleeps from 8pm to 7am.
how is everyone else?

kittyhas6 · 06/06/2007 15:51

Hello newmum, glad you're getting a good stretch of sleep. Do you feel more refreshed?
Are you or your ds ratty? Why?

Foxy, once it's been on tv I can send you a copy no probs

NewMum24Gem · 06/06/2007 16:09

feels good slepping yheah but all them other nights have still wore me out. Got a long way to go to catch up! but im gratefull.
Ds is ratty. He gets really stressed and screams so loud he goes purple in the face and his throat goes croaky. My mum said hes bored staring at the same 4 walls.I dont have the confidence to get out and about. Was supposed tlo start baby massage today but i didnt go

Piffle · 06/06/2007 16:18

Hi all
Mossie gutted that you are still finding things so hard - I wsh I coul help (was bf peer/support in NZ)
Kitty well done on your tv career

Ahh the jabs, Finn was ab fine never missed a bloody beat, he defies explanation sometimes (touch wood) I did get dp to go though, I am such a wimp.

God my house is a tip, dd is off pre school this week as her teacher had a bad car accident nd school is closed - nothing is getting done. She is a joyous thief of my time
Dp moaned about the lack of ironing going on last night( as he was playing the Wii), I explaind that ironing was not wife specific - I iron none of mine or the kids clothes (God bless M+S easycare school uniforms)
So he was fine to do it himself
Hethen said he'd pay for an ironing lay!!!
RESULT!

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 16:21

Oooh! I want to see it too!

I'm out tonight with the NCT girls: first time I've left my LO.

I feel ready, though. DH is great with him, and he's got a big ol' bottle of expressed milk ready . He only needs about 4oz. Had him weighed today, and he's 10lb 4oz - so he's stayed on the 9th centile. He's so diddy!

I read that you can estimate how much they need thus:

They need 2.5-3 oz per pound of their weight.

Work out how many feeds they have in 24 hours, then divide the total ammount they need by that number. Gives you a rough idea, apparently.

Foxy: it didn't sound bossy at all! One of the reasons I use this site is so that I can tap into the knowledge of all you more experienced Mums - like you, diva and kitty. You are a resource! (And a fantastic one at that ).

I didn't get the jabs done in the end. Our sleep is disrupted enough as it is.

He was a delight at the surgery though: giving everyone great gummy grins and giggles. My little social animal.

Newmum: that ammount of sleep sounds incredible! I'm very .

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 16:22

X-posts Piffle. Hello!

foxcub · 06/06/2007 18:54

Thanx Kitty

Newmum - am very of your sleep!

Piffle Finn is such a fab baby isn't he ?

divastrop · 06/06/2007 19:43

havent caught up yet(not meant to be on here yet,am being naughty)but if anybody knows owt about chickenpox in babies please could you have a look at this if you get a chance.thanks.

sazzybee · 06/06/2007 21:01

Hello - I'm back! I have a computer again - hurrah.

Only a few mins till the Apprentice but just wanted to say hi to you all.

Diva - I have no experience as a mum of chicken pox but I had it when I was about 2-3 months and my mum said it was great as I didn't get really ill, didn't have a lot of spots and was too little to scratch so I only got one scar(which you can't see any more). Hopefully it will be the same for your LO

Elliot has been stinky colded but not sleeping as badly as jonny - poor you booboo Newmum - I'm very jealous! E did go through a couple of times but is now going 3 1/2 hours again. On the upside, suddenly things seem to be much better on the going to sleep front and we're down to much less than an hour to get him to sleep which is a huge relief.

Mossie - sorry you're still having a rough time. Hope things pick up for you soon.

Oooh - started. Hope the rest of you are okay!

divastrop · 06/06/2007 21:06

newmum-i still keep meaning to take dd2 out to meet other babies etc,and shes 18 months nowi just havent felt up to it either, but i do have to go out to take the kids to school+pick them up every day(well,i take ds2 to nursery,ds and dd1 take themselves to school now).

do you get out atall,if only to the shops or whatever?

piffle-ironing?thats a total waste of time when you have a tumble dryer IMO.

well dd2 has defo got chickenpox
and Elsie has been screaming and refusing her bottles this evening.

divastrop · 06/06/2007 21:16

sazzy-x posts.thanks

kitty-i used to get that channel when i paid for sky but i dont now.will you be able to send me a copy?i will actually get round to sending you an sae this time hopefully now i dont have pregnancy brain!

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 21:30

Diva you poor things.

Newmum, it is great you are getting that sleep, it is so hard to function well without it. I don't always feel up to facing the world either at the moment. If you take going out in small simple steps hopefully your confidence will gradually build up again.

I'll probably have a bad sleep tonight. Dh arrived and I should be pleased and I am (of course ) but there's a big hairy man in my bed...snoring loudly. He's been sleeping since 4pm all jet lagged so he'll probably be up annoying me in the night...

divastrop · 06/06/2007 21:39

rosy-at you being annoyed in the night!!its good excersise you know

eidsvold · 06/06/2007 23:11

Boo dd3 has not had her jabs yet and she is coming up to 12 weeks BUT we have had major colds and flus here and I am loathe to have her compromised by jabs and then get very sick or be a bit off and then have her jabs - so hopefully we are all fine and she can get them done next week. I had dd1 at the gps and she said not to do dd3 until all was well here too.

better run - have just skimmed messages and will reply more later.

Courier dropped off a parcel and told me that there is a truck roll over down the road and they are diverting traffic past our place. The accident is at the major intersection I need to access to turn to dd1's school and then to come back again for kindy - gotta sell those t-shirts again!! Then try and get home again.. looks like a stressful morning ahead. Although I can get everyone and go early - hopefully it won't be too bad.

foxcub · 07/06/2007 09:09

Oh I hate car stress Eids - hope the school/kindy run goes OK

Shrinky - R U tired?

Diva - Your poor DD - sounds like you really have your hands full with those spotty kids. Has your DD's spots come out yet. Hopefully she'll start to feel better once the spots appear.

NewMum - I found just popping out to the shop quite helpful - and making myself do it once a day whether I needed to go or not. I have the school run too which gives me contact with adults which is helpful. IKWYM about baby groups though. Its a bit scary, though its worth trying as you might really enjoy it and will come away with a satisfied feeling that you've done something new

Kitty - I can send an SAE too.

Was it on the telly last night then?

eidsvold · 07/06/2007 09:25

thanks for asking foxy - totally crap day today. Just one of those days where I am the screaming fishwife and everything the dds do gets me going. Where things just do not go the way they should - finishing with a dental appt - that was suprisingly well - I had been stressed about that all day - then had to call dh to come and drive us home as I had a raging headache and my legs were like jelly!! No idea - legs not wobbly now but head still aching.

foxcub · 07/06/2007 09:39

Eids - well that's one crap day out of the way then!

Be kind to yourself today and have a treat

What I really, really hate is when life's stress makes me shout at the kids. i.e. I'm not shouting in response to them being naughty, I'm shouting 'cos I'm all stressed. That's a horrible feeling.

Mind you I should each morning and each night.

"get out of bed"
"get dressed"
"eat your breakfast"
"I said, put your shoes on - now!!"

"GO to bed"
"GET BACK in bed"

"RIGHT, if you don't go to sleep NOW, there'll be no Dr Who on Saturday"

I have deffo turned into my mother!

muppethasakitten · 07/06/2007 09:39

Ooops ... whooped you all up into a frenzy of expectation at seeing Ronnie enter the world last night.... it wasn't Kitty's turn was it!!!

... defo think she's today... livingtv2 at midday and then repeated at 8pm tonight...

.... Kitty??? Does that sound right? Looks like they just focus on one woman per episode? Hope you weren't on monday or tuesday cos then i'll have missed you!

Diva for you various cpox illnesses. My ds1 had it at 5 months... not really ill and only a few spots and he was fine.

at all these sleepy babies. Samuel is still feeding every 2-3 hours day and night... my bags under my eyes are like Huckleberry Hound's.

muppethasakitten · 07/06/2007 09:44

here i am

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 09:48

Eids, I hate days like those. Are you feeling better now? Has the croup gone away?

Foxy, I've written my boys lists of things they have to do on each day of the week, mornings and evenings. It's almost the same for everyday with a few variations like getting kit for clus etc ready. I was fed up of sounding like a stuck record so now, because it's written down i don't have to say anything. if the lists are not done then there's BIG trouble, but suprisingly they nearly always are, worth a try?

Shrinky, tired today?

Muppet, yeah there have a woman each day. I think they filmed about 15 births so it might not be on for a while, but you haven't missed it. I'll send you a copy Foxy.

Right I'm putting off doing my exercises by being here, wish me luck.......

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 09:50

Muppet that's me too!! When people ask me how often Ronnie wakes I say I have no idea, at least twice, maybe more, I'm too tired to clock it .
When the 6.30 alarm goes off it's so hard to get up especially with a wee baby sleeping and snuggled up to me.

foxcub · 07/06/2007 10:05

Muppet - lol

Kitty - brillant idea - I will try the list approach with DS1
