March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Oooh I like that pink dress too!

My DD would LOVE it!!

Shrinky - impressed at the number of times you've been a bride. I used to know a woman who referred to her DH as "my current husband"!

Just got up, fed Monti and had mega bowl of porridge and half a bar of green & blacks. DH off work so he did the school run so I could catch up on sleep.

divastrop · 25/05/2007 12:24

sponge-i forgot you were getting married in august!
IME it doesnt matter how much you eat in preg, some women are designed to get a neat little bump and walk out of the hospital wearing size 8 jeans, and some women pile the weight on no matter what.i put 3 stone on in all my pregnancies, even though in my first i sat around on my arse stuffing my face all the time, and in my 4th i was on my own with 3 kids, running back and forth to school etc hardly getting time to eat!

rosy- i was 14 weeks gone with ds2 when i got marrie dthe first time.it was registry office,2 witnesses(cos none of my family were talking to me anyway),it still only lasted 10 months.makes me shudder to think about it.

i ate a big bar of chocolate this morningcos i was stressed having spent 1.5 hours repeatedly telling ds2 to get dressed.

Can finally walk now after my riding, so should be trying to do some form of exercise... but let's face it it's too blardy hot so I won't.

Good foods = banana, 2 oranges, quiche and salad, lots of water

Bad food = 2 MASSIVE slices of coffee and walnut cake

foxcub · 25/05/2007 18:21

porridge
21 bar green and blacks
decaff Becks 1 bottle
Salad with gnocchi

....am going to a Spanish themed meal tonight at a MN house so will stop counting for today I think

foxcub · 25/05/2007 18:21

1 bar of G&B, not 21!

divastrop · 25/05/2007 21:26

Shrinkinglily · 25/05/2007 22:49

Cranberry wheats,
two bread rolls with cheese and pickle,
3 biscuits,
cheese on toast with baked beans,
1 biscuit,
cranberry wheats for supper.

So...cranberry was my designated 'fruit' for the day

Ok I'm off to eat an apple before sleep!

divastrop · 25/05/2007 23:24

have also eaten a cheese sandwich,2 packs of crisps and 2 bananas now.bugger.

foxcub · 26/05/2007 00:22

Diva - I approve of the chocolate

Shrinky - is that your 5 fruit and veg then?

Just had three tortillas and one naho shell thingy woth avocados, sour cream and salad, plus chocolate cheesecake and loads of fruit salad
3 glasses of Spanish Rose

kittyhas6 · 26/05/2007 08:18

I had some extra bread yesterday

I feel a bit better about my weight (whatever that is) atm as the birth vid showed how lardy I'd become, so even though I still wobble-a lot- I wobble less than I did !!

foxcub · 26/05/2007 10:47

How much is extra???

I had 4 glasses of rose and I can't stop eating chocolate atm

muppethasakitten · 26/05/2007 11:00

Very holy start to day with my branflakes and banana for breakfast.

Now I am devilishly eyeing the chocolate cake in the cupboard...

kittyhas6 · 26/05/2007 11:25

couple of slices of shite white smothered in butter and marmite.
When I ate them the butter oozed and and dribbled all over my greedy fat face. it was SO yummy

I haven't had rose for yonks, must investigate ........

foxcub · 26/05/2007 14:03

ooh stop it you two!!!

divastrop · 26/05/2007 15:29

ive had yoghurt, banana,a quater of a sandwich and half a jam doughnut.

tomorrow i will probably eat all day as i attempt not to smoke cos i cant be bothered with my mum going on and on and on and on at me about it,but i will start climing the walls and getting snappy(er)then she will start moaning at me for being nasty to the kids.

going to the chippy for tea as ive just cleaned the kitchen and i dont want to do it again.

Booboobedoo · 26/05/2007 15:53

Skimmed about half this thread. Callenetics? How very 80s of y'all. I'm a yoga girl meself. (How very 90s of me).

Can I join? I too have risen from a size 10 to a size 14. In fact, I was a size 16 until he was about 2 weeks old.

I've decided not to weigh myself until he's 3 months, but am measuring myself once a week instead. Lost a couple of inches all over so far!

I'm a rabid weightwatcher, so I'm writing down all my food and adding up the points - and have added 5 points per day for the breastfeeding. Seems to be working so far.

I used to buy Vogue every month, but now find it too depressing as I'd just look like a balloon in any of the clothes.

I'll keep you posted...

foxcub · 26/05/2007 16:24

Boo well done for those couple of inches! I've lost some on my butt but no where else!

hmmm, chips for tea, what heaven!!

Booboobedoo · 26/05/2007 20:58

I've just had chocolate biscuits and rose for tea.

Do you think I'm going about this the right way?

divastrop · 26/05/2007 21:25

i have depressed myself by weighing myself.i only had a stone to loose when i weighed myself 2 weeks after haveing Elsie, then i put all thatw eight on with the mirena coil and although ive lost a few pounds i still have a long way to go.

had a spring roll for tea,so although it was oozing with fat at least there were some veggies in it

Shrinkinglily · 26/05/2007 21:36

Had porridge this morning...organic too, woohoo
Then lettuce, cherry tomatoes, coleslaw, brie and grapes for lunch
Then biscuits, chocolate and more biscuits
Then curry and chapati
then cake,
more biscuits, more chocolate

Ok I'm going to eat an apple and forgive myself for all the bad stuff...tomorrow is another day.....

foxcub · 26/05/2007 21:52

Diva - I had spring rolls for tea too!!! Spoooky

Brekkie: mega bowl of porridge + green and blacks
Lunch - small salad and spoon of hummous
Naughties: 2 choccie bikkies
Tea: 3 spring rolls and three ryvitas with cheese
filler: 2 bowls of salted popcorn with my non alcoholic beer

kittyhas6 · 26/05/2007 21:56

Whenever I eat, the children steal my food.
I had normal toast for brekkie-no one tole that
Lunch: Cucumber, tomato salad with olives and capers-dd2 stole alot of it
Dinner-filled pasta-dd1 stole some of it

Dd2 is weird she likes all veg, especially raw stuff. When she was a baby and I was supermaket shopping she would get all excited going down the fruit and veg aisle and I'd give bits of raw broccoli to chew on. Even now she devours salad leaves

Ds2 would only eat sweets, biscuits and crips if allowed

Well I went for my first 'jog' since becoming preg. i didn't go very far, but got out of breath. My pubic bone really ached though. My hips are still a bit dodgy.

Rosy you had probs with yours didn't you? Are they better now?

foxcub · 26/05/2007 22:00

I love capers - must remember to buy some. I had spd too kitty and I still get twangs sometimes when pushing the buggy uphill. How long does it take to go?

Monti is lying on our bed watching Pink Floyd on "Ages of Rock" prog!

kittyhas6 · 26/05/2007 22:08

It's been different with different babies and different births. I think with dd2 it was 4 months ish, can't really remember rightly.

foxcub · 26/05/2007 22:09

4 months!! I remember the physio saying it can take up to 5 months. I wonder if excercise makes it better or worse, or makes no difference?
