March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

divastrop · 24/05/2007 12:23

omega3,magnesium..erm,thats it.the thing is,if i eat healthy food i just end up craving chocolate and cakes.i have to either eat or not eat.

im not letting myself get excited till its booked and paid for.

foxcub · 24/05/2007 12:25

What are you planning for your wedding - apart from two lardy bridesmaids?

divastrop · 24/05/2007 12:25

we are planning to get married on the cheap and only invite a small amount of family, then renew our vows on our 10th anniversary and have a big do then as we ahve accepted that we wont be able to afford a proper wedding for a good few years, but we want to get married.

Shrinkinglily · 24/05/2007 12:38

got the dress

Shrinkinglily · 24/05/2007 12:41

ooh ooh the cake

foxcub · 24/05/2007 13:31

Diva - we did that as we were skint - but we've been married 16 years! We also renewed our vows at 10 years

I think the more you spend on the wedding, the shorter the marriage seems to be!!

kittyhas6 · 24/05/2007 13:56

rosy, wherre do you get these links?

foxcub · 24/05/2007 15:51

PMSL at those links!

can you find a fat ginger one for me Shrinky?

divastrop · 24/05/2007 16:18

or this one

divastrop · 24/05/2007 16:25

im goin for the second dress down,it will give me something to aim for,weight-wise.the bottom one would have been good if i were still pregnant

kittyhas6 · 24/05/2007 18:33
Shock
foxcub · 24/05/2007 18:40

Diva !!!

I'm pissed again

have had a crappo day. Thursdays is always tricky as I have to do 3 school runs, then dash to and from after school clubs

Food intake:

brekkie: 5 oatcakes with flora
Lunch: teeny salad with dollop of hummous
Tea: pasta with smocked mackerel, and grated cheese
naughties: in the past half hour I have consumed two of green & blacks chocolate and 3 glasses of rose

kittyhas6 · 24/05/2007 19:13

foxy, you are indeed a lady after my own heart. You go girl, it's called surviving motherhood .

My doula brought round the most enormous homeade carrot cake this morning, it's the size of something very big , well it was. Yes but carrot cake is healthy cake and it has helped me reach my 5 a day fruit and veg quota

I had seabass for lunch and am having healthy grilled chicken and veg kebabs for dinner and of course more carrot cake

DollyPopsOut · 24/05/2007 19:14

Diva there were 5 people at my wedding of whom 2 were me and DH! Small weddings rock! We went to the pub afterwards (and before actually ) and had steak and champagne. I was 4 months preg at the time though so consumption was limited.

Food

Breakfast - muesli
Sback - frozen yog ice cream
Lunch - more bloody muesli
Tea - sliver choc cake (someone's birthday)
2 fish fingers (kids' tea)

To come - lamb chops, pots, tomatoes. Sadly no booze though as I got a bit pissed last night and tis stopping me getting any smaller.

foxcub · 24/05/2007 19:38

Kitty - LOL at your veg intake

Dolly - we had a small wedding, with 6 days notice - rang a few frineds and said "R U doing anything next Friday? Fancy coming to our wedding?" - all very low key and inexpensive, a few friends, then wine bar, then back to ours for a party, then ferry to Ireland for honeymoon.

I think there is an inverse relationship between the amount people spend on their wedding and how long the marriage lasts - the bigger the do, the shorter the marriage (look at celebs). Ditto diamonds etc - its the relationship wot counts IMO.

divastrop · 24/05/2007 21:00

ive decided to ditch the diet and go forthis
one

Shrinkinglily · 24/05/2007 21:53

bootifull And new link instructions to confuse me...

Shrinkinglily · 24/05/2007 22:10

pink
My sister (with same name as you Diva if I remember rightly) is getting hitched in August. So I am totally in wedding mood

kittyhas6 · 24/05/2007 22:40

I like that pink dress

spongecake · 24/05/2007 22:44

congratulations diva, thats fantastic!!

i am getting married in august.. there is no way i will back to a size ten unless i pack up eating NOW. think will still be bf as well, so honeymoon undies will be v sexy.. not!

am waiting for someone to look smug and tell me they did say not to eat too much during prgny. i shall sit on them. hah!

diva, we are having a quiet do, we just say sorry can't invite you but we will be having a barbecue celebration when we get back, so.. seems to work, esp with those whose behavouir at weddings is a little ahem, inappropriate after a whiff of drink.

divastrop · 24/05/2007 22:50

oooh, thats very footballers wives!of course,i will be that skinny by october
(she says having just munched a large peice of cheese).

spongecake · 24/05/2007 22:56

i LOVED footballers wives when it was on the telly

have just been sipping red wine, and had cheese earlier. was going to get a fridge pig, but decided against it. we are saving up, so i will just have to make the noises myself

Shrinkinglily · 25/05/2007 07:31

Kitty I like it too

Shrinkinglily · 25/05/2007 08:20

I've been the bride three times once to husband no1 when I was 23 white wedding in church and I was lovely and slim for that...(lasted 1.5 year.)
Then married dh twice age 35, first time in a little mosque in Dublin followed by pub lunch 20 people then a couple of months later we married 'legally' in Lisburn registry, reception for 100 or so in friends curry house then off to a night club. I was expecting dd and felt awful.

I do love weddings but much prefer other peoples. Can't wait for my sisters wedding. She is tryiong to tone up for it. I'll be a small elephant still...oh well. I have lost a couple of pounds now though so that is encouraging.

I will have to lose it slowly because I don't want to be hungry, and I definately don't want to accidently starve myself
