March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

behind

Tranny = you always sounds laid back and philosophical

I swing from being laid back one minute to being neurotic the next!!

TransfiguratingLily · 27/06/2007 18:26

hee hee, and now I'm trying to be philosophical about having eaten one trillion calories today

divastrop · 27/06/2007 20:54

lol@ 'you sound like you actually enjoy spending time with the kids'

i'm just permanently neurotic!

the jeans are now meeting in the middle,i am about 1 inch away from doing the button up

once i can get into them,i wont be happy untill i can get into the 'just right' jeans.

ive done my excersise and am now drinking gin+cranberry juice.

I'm going to try a bit of the 'super callanetics' vid I've got stuffed at the bottom of a drawer. I won't be able to do any of it I'm sure, but I need to have a change from the original one.

muppethasakitten · 28/06/2007 12:13

super callanetics sounds scary and wrong... let me know if there are any elephant impressions on it.

divastrop · 28/06/2007 12:23

ive lost another inch off my waist, and an inch off my hips

'tis cos i is going looooooopy and hardly feel hungry, then when i do eat i feel sick.

i dont mind the weight loss but i'd rather do it healthily with good diet and excersise.

foxcub · 28/06/2007 12:41

Diva - congrats on dropping an inch!!!!

well done

super callenetics sounds very scary - i can't even do the normal ones properly!

DollyPopsOut · 28/06/2007 13:53

Well done girls on the weight and inch losses. My italian food fest put 1lb on, so I need to work extra hard to get it off again. Am going to a kids' party this pm and will try hard to steer clear of the sausages.

Callanetics sounds very effective - is it an Ebay jobby or can you buy it in a shop? ANd how many times a week should you do it?

Diva you sound like you are stressed and living on your nerves. I hope things calm down again soon. It's great you are losing weight. Fruit! lots of fruit, keep your strength up.

I'm having a nice farleys rusk with my coffee here

foxcub · 28/06/2007 14:04

I just had a Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Turkish fig extra creamy yogurt (193 cals ) sprinkled with my fave granola - soooo yummy!!

Dollypops - if you google callenetics you should recieve the Amazon link, where you can buy it 2nd hand for about a fiver from one of their regular sellers. I bought mine from two different sellers and they came within 2-3 days.

I've got the original one, which I haven't attempted, and the 20 minute stomache workoout - which I can now do in about 12 mins on my own (cutting out also the crap talkie bits). I do it every day as its only 12 mins so I've got no excuse not to!

Kitty and Muppet have been doing it regularly for far longer and I think do it 3 times a week - is that right Kitty/Muppet?

kittywits · 28/06/2007 14:05

Dolly, you can get it on ebay

divastrop · 28/06/2007 14:26

the callenetic must make a difference,im only doing a few of the tummy ones out of the book after doing my 'warm up' every day and its making such a difference.

rosy-farleys rusk?have you been weaning hassan on the quiet.those things just taste like biscuits to me.
i buy loads of fruit and when i get up at stupid am to feed Elsie i eat that while im warming the bottle(rather than the bread i was muching before).

TransfiguratingLily · 28/06/2007 14:53

Fox that sounds yummy.

Really I just want a chocolate biscuit or six

The children's nutfree chocolate is in the cupboard calling my name in a little chocolatey voice. But instead I'm eating the childrens biscuits...sigh I'm a sad, sad case.

Foxy, my yogalates dvd lasts an hour I think but takes me 2 hours though by the time I stop 10 times to put children back in bed, feed/cuddle the baby, answer the phone/door blah blah blah that quickie workout sounds more the thing to do every day...don't have a video player, maybe I should get the book....Diva is it easy enough to follow?

divastrop · 28/06/2007 16:22

rosy-no,i only do one of the excersises, the only one i could figure out what i was meant to be doing.and i still dont know if im doing it right.can you not get a callanetics dvd?surely somebody must have converted and uploaded it somewhere?

kittywits · 28/06/2007 16:28

Rosy, you can get the dvd's on ebay, I love ebay!!

foxcub · 28/06/2007 19:06

ooh so its out on DVD then?

kittywits · 28/06/2007 21:20

indeed!!

TransfiguratingLily · 28/06/2007 22:12

brilliant, will go on ebay and get one! Can you get pink leotards on ebay?

foxcub · 28/06/2007 22:22

we're all going to be so skinny and fit soon!

we are, we are, we ARE

TransfiguratingLily · 28/06/2007 22:25

yep, we sure are!

muppethasakitten · 29/06/2007 10:06

I'm not! haven't lost a single measley pound - however callanetics is defo tightening me up

TransfiguratingLily · 29/06/2007 10:19

Well I ordered callanetics a copy for £6.00 including postage. Going to do that and yogalates. I may have bags down to my chin, grey skin and lank thin hair BUT I'm going to have an amazing bendy body

Muppet my weight is creeping down so slowly. I do think that breast feeding makes my body hold on to any extra weight. And we may need it. I think breast feeding gets really draining at this stage for a while. In 3 months when solids are being introduced it'll be interesting to see if the weight falls off then (hopefully)

kittywits · 29/06/2007 12:32

Ooh I say, tried to do some of the super callanetics just now and I can't move

foxcub · 29/06/2007 21:42

Kitty it must be working if its hurting!!
