March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Diva !!!

I find that callenetics vid perfect as its only 20 mins which is about my limit energy and time wise atm...I've started to lose weight again, having been stuck on a plateau (must be the giving up chocolate which has helped)

Kitty - I actually drank no alcohol last night for the first time in ages. BUT I had a late night soup, followed by cheese, oilives, tomatoes and ryvitas. Then straight to bed which is a lesson in "how to put bon weight" (eat then sleep) but there hey, who gives a feck!

My size 14's are sliding down my bum now all that walking is paying off maybe

DollyPopsOut · 23/06/2007 14:40

Well, after my hols I reckon I have put on about half a stone. A diet of pizza, pasta, wine and beer does not aid slimming. Oh and lovely italian ice cream as well.

God it was good though .

dolly, your hols sound lovely! all that lovely food, expect you look great and have a nice tan.

had pasta myself tonight (not the same am sure) but did walk for an hour and did 20 mins callanetics earlier. am trying on wedding dresses week after next, so MUST TRY HARDER

TransfiguratingLily · 24/06/2007 11:03

Ooh Dolly sounds yummy!
Spongecake don't worry if you aren't skinny for the wedding dress, Sometimes brides go too far for their wedding and their beautifull dress hangs off them shapelessly. I'm sure you will look lovely and hope you find a perfect dress!
Did my yogalates yesterday, always want to do more, more, more when I do, then don't get round to it for 3 days

kittywits · 24/06/2007 16:24

Dolly, the food in italy is impossible to resist!!

Well I made the fatal mistake of trying on some summer clothes from last year. I couldn't get some up my thighs and the ones I could I could no way even get the zips up. Now I am really depressed and f*cked off. I though I was doing quite well
Dp is being kind and saying that it is much better to lose the weight slowly and not going on mad diets is the sign of a healthy mind. Well the way I look I'd rather be insane and alot thinner

divastrop · 24/06/2007 16:53

kitty-i did a similar thing a couple of days ago, having dicovered my tummy no longer stuck out further than my norks,i though maybe the jeans i was wearing when i met dp would fit

yeah, another 4 inches off my waist and maybe ill get them done up,but then they'd be too big round the bum.i need a tummy tuck.

i seem to recall fining it easier to loose weight when i was insane.stressed-loopy insane rather than depressed.i just want to do cleaning all the time and drink coffee and smoke fags when im like that.but the downside is i could easily flip and kill somebody.....

sponge-have you got any ideas for wedding dresses yet?

muppethasakitten · 24/06/2007 18:46

I'm in a right old rut regards getting any slimmer... just dont seem to be able to shift it at all.

kittywits · 24/06/2007 20:22

I'm trying to work out what I need to cut out. I think it's gonna have to be.......cheese. Well it's NOT going to be my little drink of an evening

foxcub · 24/06/2007 21:06

What are you drinking tonight Kitty? I've had 2 bottles of budweiser, which never seems to make me feel drunk but I love cold beer.

eaten masses today - nothing particularly naughty but loads of carbs

TransfiguratingLily · 24/06/2007 21:21

I've had a glass of chardonnay and I'm totally tipsy.(hic)

kittywits · 24/06/2007 22:39

2 bottles of grolsh for me. SOOOOOOO yummy. Ronnie wasn't going to bed on time so I had to drink it whilst feeding him for over an hour in front of the tv, bad mother

muppethasakitten · 25/06/2007 09:50

i love cold beer

foxcub · 25/06/2007 11:07

I often sit with a cold beer in one hand, remote control in the other and baby at breast

kittywits · 25/06/2007 11:17

Foxy we are baaaaaaad

foxcub · 25/06/2007 11:23

I remember seeing a painting of an unruly drunken crowd in smelly unsanitary London in the middle ages. In the corner was a slutty looking woman, boob out, hair all over the place, baby hanging off her knee. She'd obviously been BFing but was so pissed she forgot!!

I often think of that picture!

kittywits · 25/06/2007 11:56
Grin
foxcub · 25/06/2007 21:45

Oh Dear we appear to have killed the thread with our drunken antics!

Well I did my callenetics tonight B4 two glasses of Rose. I was hungry all day again though so trid to fill up with hummous and bananas - fattening yet healthy=ish.

Have discovered yummy weightwatchers toffee yogurt - tastes ever so sinful but only has 50 calories per. pot!!

TransfiguratingLily · 25/06/2007 23:03

Couldn't be bothered to do my yogalates tonight.
I bought some nut free chocolate in m&s for the children the other day and I am having to keep strong not to eat it.

I am a true aholic, I have to take one day at a time and I'm constantly having to talk myself out of it.

Last week when I was shopping there was loads of reduced gorgeous chocolate... thorntons and fairtrade stuff. I couldn't help gazing longingly....my favourite combination, chocolate and a bargain. I had to wrench myself away.

I'm looking forward to 20th July...my sisters hen party, am having a day off!

TransfiguratingLily · 26/06/2007 08:04

I've lost another inch from my waist, so down to 33" but not losing weight oh well, it's good to lose it slowly...(dead slow and stop )

Still that yogalates is fabby, must try to do it more.

kittywits · 26/06/2007 12:49

Well done for resisting the choc ranny and for loosing another inch. I am currently resisting cheese and bread. Sometimes I steal a cheese string from the kids' packed lunch stash but iI don't think that counts as cheese so I'm ok with that

divastrop · 26/06/2007 16:44

i weighed myself today and i have lost another 3lb

which means im officially down to my pre-marina coil weight, and have only to lose the stone of pregnancy weight now.have been doing my bit of excersise every evening still, and my tummy muscles are getting firmer, but i still have loads of loose skin that isnt going to go anywhere

foxcub · 26/06/2007 17:38

Well done Diva - that's great!!! I'm too cowardly to buy scales

Kitty LOL at cheese strings not counting as cheese. Is rubber fattening?

Tranny - I've got into Nescafe Decaff cappucinos and they have chocolate powder to srpinkle on each drink. I swear that just that teeny bit of chocolate powder is making me fantasis about chocolate all day

Am trying to divert myself with weightwatchers yogurts (very nice but a bit watery)

TransfiguratingLily · 26/06/2007 22:09

slurp...for pudding today I had a massive fruit salad with two different kinds of hagaan das icecream and cream (not chocolate so it's ok )

Did my yogalates (halo pings)
Now I'm having chardonnay and orange juice, hic, I love being slightly tipsy. I just throw things in the general direction of places and don't give a fart. (better watch I don't become an alcoholic next )

Well done Diva!

lol at is rubber fattening

kittywits · 26/06/2007 22:19

Tranny, I wish I could be as generally relaxed and chilled out as you. I mean you always sound as if you actually enjoy spending time with your kids .
I've just stuffed my face with rivitas loaded with butter and marmite.

TransfiguratingLily · 26/06/2007 23:11

Kitty I do enjoy being with the kids but on the other hand I have big problems coping with the adult world!
The world of children seems a whole lot safer and nicer, I'm hiding beind all the children and I positively refuse to come out/grow up etc
