March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Cor Theblonde, that looks impressive!

foxcub · 16/06/2007 22:17

Is that vid/dvd good then Theblonde?

Didn't do callanetics today as kids were in the way.

When I do it, Monti lies next to me on the floor doing his excercises, which consast of trying desperately to roll over [aaawww]
Sometimes DD joins us too and she does callanetics - she can hold her legs up for ages

TheBlonde · 17/06/2007 07:43

Alas the impressive DVD still has it's cellopane wrapper on but I might get it out today

Shrinkinglily · 17/06/2007 08:38

that looks brilliant the blonde, probably an advanced version of my yogalates.

I haven't done mine for a few days, it's a struggle to get it done 3 times a week as they suggest, in this mad house.

Fox it sounds nice and calm in yours. When I'm doing a bridge position or downward facing dog () well the children torture me, climbing under/over/around me. Then if they are not joining in they need bottoms cleaned/fights sorted/snacks blah blah blah.
when they are in bed ds1 is watching a dvd, or Hasan needs my attention or I'm so knackered i can only crawl into bed....

Oh yes I've got a catalogue of excuses, I have

foxcub · 17/06/2007 13:23

LOL the blonde

Well I did my callanetics against all kiddy odds this morning Halo and had a bowl of porridge.

Am getting addicted to weightwatchers fruit trifles though...

foxcub · 17/06/2007 13:24

Shrinky - can you do them early morning or late at night?

muppethasakitten · 17/06/2007 13:36

I too am sporting the callanetics halo.

TheBlonde · 17/06/2007 17:34

Well done to the exercisers

I have started calorie counting esp after I ate a whole bag of haribo yesterday and then found that was over 1000 kcal!

foxcub · 17/06/2007 21:25

1000 cal!!!?

divastrop · 17/06/2007 21:28

i started doing my excersise dvd last night, got through the warm up ok,but the actual workout was way beyond me(think large black man doing complicated dance-style moves)as i have no sense of rhythm when it comes to moving my body.

anyway, when i got up this morning i was aching in places i didnt know were there,so i figured the warm up must have had some effect.i have decided to just do the 10 mins warm up every night till i can find something easy to do.

oh,and i discovered a callanetics book on the shelfand have done some of the flat tum excersises out of it.its soooo old, though,i think some of the things in there are considered highly dangerous nowadays

food-wise,i havent been too bad, although i did have an ice cream yesterday.

i feel a bit more motivated since i showed dd1 the dress i want to get and she said 'i could imagine you in that but not how you look now' i said 'what do you mean?' and she said 'you know-fat'.

foxcub · 17/06/2007 21:34

Diva LOL at your DD

You can just build up slowly with those escercises can't you? I do the callanetics tummy ones kind of half mast but I can really feel it afterwards

Shrinkinglily · 17/06/2007 22:16

I'm sitting here reading messages but I better go and do my yogalates...everyones gone to bed, now's my chance!

foxcub · 17/06/2007 22:19

Go on Misses! Just think of the new slimline shrinking Rosy!!

Shrinkinglily · 18/06/2007 20:36

i managed to do yogalates last night (yay!)
Today I am a wreck and I am still craving chocolate. When I love something I love it forever
I'm so sad without my love...I think I transfered all my love onto chocolate instead of dh....
(contemplates therapy)

foxcub · 18/06/2007 21:13

Shrinky!

I did my callanetics today and really like it. I'm a starver though and have had a plate of pasta for dinner, followed by two weight watchers trifles, followed by mega bowl of rice crispies, followed by 20 pistachios (to accompany my wine ).... and that's just one meal

But my bod is feeling better for the excercises

Shrinkinglily · 19/06/2007 08:03

foxy, your body has to make delicious milk for Monti so you need the fuel and ingredients!
Excercise is great really, it makes a huge difference doesn't it.
Weighed myself this morning and I've suddenly lost half a stone, which is great, but I'm that grumpy ....
it's a bitter sweet process this losing weight business, because Food is how I entertain and comfort myself.
It seems so dull to eat sensibly!

So my sis is coming over for her hen party in July and I'm having a day off! I'm going to be BAD (very bad) can't wait

divastrop · 19/06/2007 12:20

shrinkyat your half stone loss!

i did my excersises again last night.need to find something 'proper' to do though.

i used to enjoy eating, and when im not allowed its like theres a void there, which i have been filling with cigarettes

foxcub · 19/06/2007 17:22

I've been filling my void with alcohol

kittywits · 19/06/2007 19:19

Me too. I can get through a lot in the hour I have between boys going to bed and me going to bed

spongecake · 19/06/2007 22:05

did callanetics today -it seemed to take all day as had to keep stopping to pacify lo. when should i see a difference- the only diff at mo is that i can hardly move!

had chocolate earlier , it was lush

muppethasakitten · 20/06/2007 12:57

should start to feel a difference with callanetics i reckon after you;ve done it about 4 or 5 times - not long after that i reckon you start to notice a difference...

... or that might just be me!

foxcub · 20/06/2007 13:07

I've done it about 8 times now and can see and feel a clear difference. My tum is much more under control and I just feel generally better and more poised. As opposed to hunched!

divastrop · 20/06/2007 16:59

dd1 said to me this morning 'you have got smaller around your tummy since you said a couple of weeks ago about loosing weight before the wedding'

it must be true, she isnt exactly known for her tact and diplomacy,my daughter

foxcub · 20/06/2007 17:36

Diva I'm sure its true!!

DD said to me the other day: "Mummy don't lie on my bed, you'll break it"

Me: "am I fat then?"

DD "well, you've got fast bits!"

foxcub · 20/06/2007 17:36

fat bits not fast bits
