March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

DollyPopsOut · 16/05/2007 16:58

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Aaaarrrrrgggghhhh

I have put my measly pound BACK ON (sob)

It is not fair. What's the point of giving up my beloved chocolate and stuffing my face with leaves if I don't lose any weight!

I am so peeved.

foxcub · 15/06/2007 09:22

Hi everyone - DH here so having a lazy morning!

Having my hair cut later

Made a BIG mistake yesyerday and bought some granola (oats in sugar with raspberry bits) ate loads last night - very fattening I'm sure, and felt quite sick afterwards

Must remember to do callanetics today...

foxcub · 15/06/2007 09:22

BTW Boo, wouldn't fancy wearing those pants on a hot day!

Booboobedoo · 15/06/2007 09:47

I know. Those pants look horrendous don't they! And how lovely for the new DH.

My friend was once wearing a similar pair to a wedding. She was staying in a hotel, and managed to entice the Best Man back with her after the reception. When he was in the bathroom she remembered what she was wearing, whipped them off and threw them across the room, aiming to get them hidden on the other side of the bed. The Best Man came back in just in time to see them flying through the air. .

You see, if you saw that in a film, you'd think it was really contrived.

Dolly: it's fantastic how many points I can have!(Although it's partly because I'm so lardy). I used to be allowed 18, and now I can have 33! That's loads. . Have a lovely hol.

muppethasakitten · 15/06/2007 09:56

shrinky... I've put 3 of the 7 pounds I thought I'd lost... back on...

foxcub · 15/06/2007 10:04

boo pmsl

divastrop · 15/06/2007 11:49

rosy-i keep going up and down with weight.after i had dd2 i just went down and down

i had a yoghurt for breakfast and i got some oatcakes this morning,i made 2 with ham, cheese+tomato, but could only eat one as they were so filling!

yesterday was bad cos of the school trip,i was stuffing myself with cake+chocolate.

sponge-i didnt start a wedding dress thread.i do want to get that one but i will need a contingency plan in case it makes me look like a sack of spuds.

Shrinkinglily · 15/06/2007 14:28

Well much as I'd like to get stuck into a big box of Lily O'briens (do you get that choccy over there? It's seriously lovely but of course, slap my wrist we don't like chocolate anymore...).....
I am staying strong for a bit longer. If I still haven't lost any weight in another ten days I may give up.

I can't understand why I am not losing weight but feel really premenstrual today and that might be the problem.

Booboo are the best man and your friend still together? I couldn't wear those big things, lucky we don't live in the days when women all wore corsets. How uncomfortable!

muppethasakitten · 15/06/2007 14:41

shrinky - i think that some women who are bfeeding have bodies that cling more desperately to the fat... I never really lose the weight successfully until i stop feeding.

... or it could just be that I'm a greedy pig...

divastrop · 15/06/2007 14:48

muppet-why is my body holding on to the fat then?

actually,to be fair to myself,i dont think i actually started to lose weight after ds and dd2 untill my periods returned,it was just that both times i hadnt put 10lb on before af returned cos of a stupid coil

rosy-never heard of that choc.

muppethasakitten · 15/06/2007 14:52

diva - your body is prolly clinging in sympathy to the fat for me and shrinky ... subconsciously you don't want to make us feel !

Shrinkinglily · 15/06/2007 15:43

My body is definately clinging to my fat and also my fat is clinging to my body

2 weeks ago I was demolishiong a bar of chocolate every day plus loads of pies, biscuits and cakes and as much yummy fattening grub as I could get my hands on. Now I'm almost a saint, I'm being so good and healthy...and it makes no blardy difference!

I'm going to be fuming about this all day. I'm far too stressed about it to do the ironing.

divastrop · 15/06/2007 16:23

theres that word again that i dont understand...'ironing'?wtf?im sure there is something about it stored in my long term memory

rosy-its very disheartening, isnt it?i havent been wonderful but when i think back to all the chocolate and crap i was stuffing my face with in april, and now im eating less than ds2 does, and im still fat.makes me think i may as well still be eating loads of chocolate+cakes

maybe it has something to do with sleep deprivation.dd2 was sleeping through from 12 weeks,so i wasnt so lacking in energy during the day, plus i had plenty of time and energy for 'excersise' in the evenings with dp.what i need is to fall in love with him all over again, that'll soon shift a stone

foxcub · 15/06/2007 17:40

Just had two man sized portions of fish and a slice of garlic bread ("hiss" at the very word "bread"), followed by some fattening waitrose yogurt with some of my granola sprinkled on. OK, a lot of my granola sprinkled on

Shrinky I think it takes about 3 weeks to really see a change - either from dieting or from excercise...

Are you still missing chocolate?

I had a yummy low cal M&S trifle the other day. Now I could really get addicted to those.#

Did my callentics this morning

Shrinkinglily · 15/06/2007 19:40

Yep, still missing it.

muppethasakitten · 15/06/2007 20:01

shrinky i think you deserve some chocolate after the day you've had!

Shrinkinglily · 15/06/2007 20:32

ok just a wafer thin piece

kittywits · 15/06/2007 22:59

I still want to know where you get tese links. Like what do you type in? Go on , tell me

Did the old callanetics today. I can def feel a difference. I'm starting to lose weight now. I only know by how my clothes feel. I think you can' plateau' with weight loss and it doesn't seem to budge and then it does. My bread consumption is creeping up again, must stop it ( slap wrists)

Shrinkinglily · 16/06/2007 11:12

Kitty I typed in 'chocolate eating pictures'

kittywits · 16/06/2007 11:31

Ah!

Shrinkinglily · 16/06/2007 18:00

Well I've been bad today and eaten crisps.

kittywits · 16/06/2007 18:14

I've had cava!!!!

foxcub · 16/06/2007 21:14

Shrinky don't listen to Muppet, she's the Devil in disguise!!!

spongecake · 16/06/2007 21:50

well have done some of my new callantics book, then gave up as baby not impressed and yelled for attention. hope it works...will have another go tomorrow. it takes so long!

TheBlonde · 16/06/2007 21:53

Hello, well I have found an exercise DVD but I haven't actually watched it yet abs

I have also started a blog of consumption to help myself cut down
