March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

DollyPopsOut · 16/05/2007 16:58

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Oooh the tummy ones are my favourite... for some bizarre reason they're the only ones that don't hurt me... I like them cos you get to have a lie down

Had to finish the lemon drizzle cake from the w/e today... didn't want it to go mouldy!

Have eaten well other than that with banana and muesli. Horse riding again tomorrow... bloody good fun but can't help feeling it's a bit of a cop out .

DollyPopsOut · 12/06/2007 13:42

Well, I went to fatfighters today and have only lost 1/2 a measly lb. Bugger "!

Shrinkinglily · 12/06/2007 14:22

Dolly, don't worry, you still lost something, that's great!

foxcub · 12/06/2007 14:31

Long neck

Muppet - I was really sweaty after doing callanetics last night

The work out is brill though - 20 mins and inlcudes, back and neck streches (for double chins), bingo wings stretches and about 12 minutes of tummy ones. Will deffo have another go tonight

I can't find my excercise mat to had to use Monti's changing mat DD was lying next to me doing the same excercises

muppethasakitten · 12/06/2007 18:19

I haven't seen the 20 minute tummy one foxy... does it give you b4 and after shots in black and white - superimposed so you can see the body changing shape? I love those bits!!!

divastrop · 12/06/2007 20:33

i still havent got round to doing any excersise.i got all happy cos i lost 1lb as well.i dont feel as fat now, since i came on,and i dont feel hungry all the time like i did before.

i just want the weight to fall off quickly though,as i have a feeling its going to take me ages to find a dress, and it could involve trips to other towns,so i need plenty of time.i cant really get one online as i havent had to buy a posh dress since my year 11 prom so i would have no idea what suits me etc,i need to try stuff on.

i did ok today, had a yoghurt for brekkie and a tuna sandwich for lunch.i also had a packet of revels but they have very few calories in

Shrinkinglily · 12/06/2007 21:26

Did my yogalates, feel great, ate a shed load of leaves today and no chocolate! (polishes halo)

Shrinkinglily · 13/06/2007 08:04

Well I still weigh one ton, but amazingly I have lost TWO inches off my waist in a week! I am definately going to get addicted to yogalates instead of chocolate now

muppethasakitten · 13/06/2007 09:37

shrinky - perhaps YOU should take photos of yourself every day and make a little montage of how your shape is changing!! Obviously you'd then have to post it on this thread for us all to gawp enviously over

foxcub · 13/06/2007 11:09

Wow that's amazing Shrinky!

!!

Well I could really feel the callanetics on my tum when I awoke at 5.30am today! So at 6.20am I did my 20 minutes tum/bingo wings/double chin routine. I am actually starting to feel a bit lighter now. I haven't felt like this since I was PG with DS1 7 years ago

I really hope these tums sessions work. I have a stomache like the naging garden of babylon atm.

Muppet - I love that shrinking bum bit of that video - its great isn't it?

Diva - I find having a goal really helps. Yours is your wedding. Mine is for my tummy to be flatter for my Grievance hearing in about 2-3 weeks - spot the one who deosn't get out much!

No seriously - I think it'll be Monti's baptism in a few weeks (when I get round to arranging a date for it )

spongecake · 13/06/2007 21:32

foxy please please tell me what callentetics dvd you have, as i am going to rush and buy it tomorrow, or is there a book?

you are all doing so well i must join in- my wedding is v close -8 weeks- and my tummy needs some work. as i lose weight the stretchmarks get worse am worried about going to try dresses on -will end up with horrible maxi dress which will swamp me and make me look pregnant, if i dont do something about tum then will look pregnant.

suppose the brie earlier didn;t help though

divastrop · 13/06/2007 21:33

ive decided to throw my bathroom scales out,as i was quite happy this morning when i put my jeans on and they were loose around the bum/hips+thighs.they are a big size 12(more like a 14)and were pretty tight on me 3 weeks ago.then i weighed myself and have apparently put on 2lb

so,should i buy a size 10 dress and force myself to lose the weight or should i wait and see what happens and buy the dress about 4 weeks before?

clothes sizes are so weird on me.i was the weight i am now about 6 years ago,but i was a 16 then.i lost a stone and went down to a 12-14.but im a 12-14 now.i dont get it.

divastrop · 13/06/2007 21:34

sponge-have you seen mossy's link on the post natal thread?

foxcub · 13/06/2007 21:58

sponge: Callenetics and the other one, which I'm using is Cllenetics stomach

If you google callenetics you should get amazon, which has them on sale for about £5 each (used). Worth every penny IMO

What type off dress are you thinking of sponge?

Sponge and Diva, why don't you start a "I'm getting married, lets discuss dresses" thread

Then we can all have a nose at the lovely links to the dresses

kittywits · 13/06/2007 22:20

Sponge, your best bet is to get a callanatics for the whole body, but as foxy has discovred even the stomach one has brill results almost immediately. hard to believe but true

DollyPopsOut · 13/06/2007 22:57

After my disappointing weigh in at WW this week, I have just ttried on a pair of shorts for my holidays and look about 5 months gone.

I WAS feeling thinner but not now. Am going to be sole lardball in italy among all the stylish chicks on their vespas.

How much weight can I lose before Sat?

OP posts:
Shrinkinglily · 14/06/2007 08:19

Dolly, go out and get some lovely clothes that fit you and suit you as you are now. You have recently had a baby. You will lose the weight but no reason why you shouldn't feel good about how you look now. Make the most of being voluptuous while you still can

I have a sore throat today and I read somewhere that that happens when you are detoxifying. Because yesterday I ate so many leaves and fruit all day. And I reduced my tea and had more decaff coffees.

Didn't get the chance to do yogalates though(fume) None of my days (or nights) are long enough at the moment.

foxcub · 14/06/2007 10:09

leaves

did callenetics this morning - 3rd time and found it slightly easier

my tum is sore but starting to feel slightly more controllable - as opposed to feeling like an uncontrollable ball of lard which wants to take over the world

muppethasakitten · 14/06/2007 10:20

foxy, I do believe you're what's called a "callanetics convert" ! Kitty and I should be on commission!

Shrinkinglily · 14/06/2007 11:16

Well this morning I've had a huge bowl of porridge and a huge bowl of fruit with natural yoghurt with a spoonful of brown sugar.
For lunch I'm goping to have loads of salad with black olives and guacamole (slurp)

I'd like a day off. I want to lounge around all day and read books. Then go for a long walk, do some yogalates ooh ooh and a swim!

Oh well instead I'll just have to lounge around all day and read books with frequent disturbances. How selfish and inconsiderate of the children to need fed, changed and hugged and stuff!

At least lifting chidren is good for building arm muscles.

Muppet of course I would love to take pictures of my flabby belly and post it on the world wide web but unfortunately I can't work my childrens digital camera (I honestly can't)

Spongecake a wedding dress with corset might be the way to go!

Shrinkinglily · 14/06/2007 11:17

I really am goping for some salad

foxcub · 14/06/2007 13:32

I'm bloody starving today!!!

Had two bowls of breakfast cereal, half an Edam Cheese and am about to devour a humumgous chunk of fish!!!

have bought a low calorie lentil mousaka for tea - can I hold out until teatime though?

Booboobedoo · 14/06/2007 17:51

spongecake, you need some of these .

Joined Weightwatchers today. Got a bit of a shock at the weigh-in .

I am humungous.

DollyPopsOut · 14/06/2007 20:55

Booboo well done for going to WW. You get loads of points if you are BF and the weight does fall off if you stick to it. I am not sticking to it at all well at the moment which is why I am still a fatty.

Am off to italy on sat morning to eat pizza, pasta and wine. Gorgeous but not good for the diet. WIll try not to lard up too muich whilst I am there.

Eat well, ladies, and enjoy the callanetics

OP posts:
spongecake · 14/06/2007 22:56

am also callanetics convert, bought the stomach book and complete callantics on ebay- v cheap £3.00! no sit ups today, too tired as baby was awake and playing all day, apart from when I walked miles with the pram.

diva, just remembered you thought i was 25! thanks, but not sure how you got that from my posts, you would have added on 13 years if you could see me!

had tiny sliver of chocolate just now, but think should be wild and crazy sometimes

not sure about magic pants, think will faint as will have to wear them all day, and they might be a bit sweaty, do you think?

am srating to panic re wedding dress, rosy, v good idea re thread, diva did you start one, or shall I?
