March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

google image search..

well i had a brief moment of feeling slim today when i saw a lass who used to be my best friend(she was into all sorts of dodgey stuff and eventually got into selling smack and crack and her boyfreind burgled my house).she was huge,i mean, she was always about a size 18 when i knew her but she must be about a 24 now,and she always used to wear nice clothes but she was dressed in old granny clothes.anyway,i felt quite slim standing near her, although i pretended not to recognise her(dont want to be associated with that sort).

fox-are you weighing yourself?i shouldnt do it as i get disheartened when i feel like ive lost weight then find out i havent.

is it right that when you are doing regular excersise to tone up etc that you shouldnt go on how much you weigh as muscle weighs more than fat?

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 18:08

That's right Diva, muscles also burns more calories.

foxcub · 07/06/2007 18:10

I wouldn't dare go near any scales Diva !!

spongecake · 07/06/2007 20:39

hate scales! just use ny clothes. its my tummy that makes me feel fat, and i have a horrile cold so can't exercise- dp at home today, so i would've gone for a run, but

have given up coffee and tea as think this might have had something to do with lo being wide awake 24/7 .. hope not torturing myself for nothing!

foxcub · 07/06/2007 20:43

sponge - I can't drink caffeine at all as it tunr sme into an insomniac

I use my clothes too "loose" is good, "tight" is not good, "can't get 'em on" is "Oh Nooo"

foxcub · 07/06/2007 20:44

..an insomniac who can't spell either

divastrop · 07/06/2007 21:26

i drink about 8 cups of coffee a day

i have clothes that will fit me one day but be too small the next as i keep going up and down with water retention, and will till i get my farking af.in a week.

i do ahve one pair of jeans that are my 'just right' jeans.they are a size 12 but quite a small fit(ie they fit me when i was technically a size 10).when i can get them on then i know im the size i want to be.

i remember said jeans were hanging off me when ds2 was 6 months old...

Shrinkinglily · 08/06/2007 08:26

Diva I'm almost certain that that much coffee will cause water retention but if you cut them down do it gradually or you'll get a headache. I'm a tea person and just have the odd coffee and any times I've given up caffeine I get a whopper headache.

Didn't do any yogalates yesterday so really hope to do some today...I miss it

Yesterday I ate much less than usual. Was ok...I didn't accidentally starve So maybe I can reduce my calorie intake without discomfort

I had wheataflakes, half a scone, a goats cheese and jalepeno pepper sandwhich (yum) a small plate of dal and rice (homemade so low oil content) wheataflakes loads of water, a little fruit juice and tea throughout the day. It's about half what I usually eat!

kittyhas6 · 08/06/2007 09:37

My whole body HURTS after doing the callenetics yesterday . Going to have some seabass for lunch, yum, yum.

foxcub · 08/06/2007 12:00

I'm starving today. have had mahoosive bowl of porridge and about 10 oatcakes and still feel hungry...

Booboobedoo · 08/06/2007 12:25

Rosy: that sounds pretty much like the amount I eat when I'm Weightwatching. (Having a bit more atm because of the BFing).

I must admit that I'm not taking this weight-loss thing that seriously atm. I'm sure my weigh-in on June 18th will kick my arse into gear, though.

Shrinkinglily · 08/06/2007 15:21

I'm so hungry today! (And so is Hasan in my defence.)
Had linseed bread and banana for breakfast, a whole packet of cherry tomatoes!
6 oatcakes and stilton for brunch,
veg soup, cheddar cheese and 3 pieces wheaten bread, 3 oatcakes for lunch.
I'm making more dal now for dinner...

I would love a whole bar of g&b right now

My sis is coming over later and offered to bring some options choccy drink but I can't, if I even start on anything chocolatey....I'll be a gonner.

foxcub · 08/06/2007 19:51

Shrinky I am the same. Its either no chocolate at all or I am a complete addict. There is no halfway house as I cannot control myself around chocolate

Boo - you are brave having weekly weigh ins

divastrop · 08/06/2007 21:00

rosy-i tried giving up coffee a few years ago, cold turkey.i was throwing up,shaking, sweating and had the worst headache of my life.i have tried cutting down, and i havent found any difference to the water retention.ie i dont suffer from water retention atall for the first half of my cycle.i have noticed salt makes a big difference,on the other hand.

my boobs have shrunk again.i dont understand.they always used to be the last bit to go down in size.now theyre the only bit

kittyhas6 · 08/06/2007 21:53

That's a bummer Diva . I haven't got any boobs at any point if that's any consolation, even now, not really and when I finish feeding they'll be positively concave. I'm not looking forward to that. It was ok (ish) having tiny boobs when they were pert and sat up nice and high, when the feeding's finished they'll be a good way below where they used to be

divastrop · 08/06/2007 22:33

i dont mind my boobs going down(dp does but he doent have to carry them round all day),as the smallest ive been since having children is a 32D,i just want my bum and tum to go down too,as at the moment my belly is sticking out further than my boobs and i still look pregnant.

foxcub · 09/06/2007 09:57

I'm 38g

Had humungous bowl of Shreddies this morning for a treat and sandwiches for lunch yesterday so my Tum will get very blaoted and windy!!

My friend came round yesterday (she's 70, has a 63 yr old toyboy and has run off to Spain to live in the Sun ). She said I've lost lots of weight and really just need to concentrate on my sticky out tum

(thinks: "where did I put that callenetics video I bought?")

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 11:53

Foxy, the callanetics really does work, it really pulls the muscles in.

foxcub · 09/06/2007 12:15

Ok - I am going to vow to myself to do some before midnight Sunday!!!

Thanx Kitty

Watch out for Fit Fox - here I come!!!

divastrop · 09/06/2007 14:47

now i know why my norks have gone down another cup size-due to af arriving finally.have also lost an inch off my waist since the other day(water).hopefully now i will stop craving carbs all the time and acually be able to lose some weight.

i need to get excersising as well.i caught sight of my sideways reflection in a shop window before and noticed i have bingo wings

foxcub · 09/06/2007 16:59

Oh well done Diva - bet you are glad to see your Auntie!!

I've got bingo wings too. Even though my arms are thinner, they flap around still!!

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 17:13

Foxy.... callanetics

foxcub · 09/06/2007 20:04

Kitty - you know everytime I feed Monti I think - next feed- wtach that video. I am going to put in in the machine right now so its ready. I need to watch it once,. The second tiome I'll be joining in...

divastrop · 09/06/2007 20:39

i have horrible stretchmarks on my arms from when i was expecting dd1.i think half of my excess weight is down to loose skin from when i was a size 20.we shall see, when ive lost all the fat

Shrinkinglily · 09/06/2007 22:45

I had to practise self control today, I was really hungry for ages and all around me were chips and candyfloss. I resisted though.
I haven't done my yogalates for 4 days. Tomorrow will try really hard to get the chance to do some.

I'm 38d and it's not me at all, feels strange to be busty, I'm usually 36a. When I stop feeding I'll have spaniels ears I think

Still resisting chocolate, still missing it. But I feel much better without it.
