March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

I was hoping that was a "scratch 'n' sniff" piece of chocolate but it wasn't

Had 2 slices of pizza and two spoons of macaroni cheese last night (leftovers from kids) plus 2 Rose spritzers

This is my third chocolate free day!!

DollyPopsOut · 06/06/2007 10:12

So this is where you all are! The other thread is looking a bit lonely.

I went to WW yesterday and I have lost 1 1.2 lb. So 12 1.2 in total - only 1 1/2 more and I'll have done a stone. Shame that there is another stone and a half to go after that. Oh well, there is the summer to help out.

I haven't been a size 10 since I was about 10 I think. Darent measure my (non) waist. My sides are very straight and I don't go in at all. Just as well as with the emormous norkage I'd look a bit odd. THe wonderful Dolly parton herself was asked once how she had 22" waist, to which she replied "honey, nothing flourishes in the shade" .

THat, ot surgery of course .

PMSL

Apparently if a woman wears a corset all the time, her waist eventually just takes on that shape

Congrats on losing weight

muppethasakitten · 06/06/2007 10:37

Dolly - great weight loss - go girl!

I had fish and chips for supper last night!

There's also no way I'm measuring my waist!

Off riding in a minute. Also the callanetics is defo working - don't look so scary in my jodphurs this week!

Sponge - I'm with you on not being able to get my pre-preg trousers on over my thighs!
Some pairs I just look at in despair thinking I'll never cram into them again!

Keep going foxy and shrinky with the chocolate sniffing! I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end!

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 10:40

good idea

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 10:55

Dolly I'll be chuffed to pieces when I've lost a stone, well done.

foxcub · 06/06/2007 11:07

I like those corsets!

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 11:31

Congratulations Dolly!

I have no idea how much I weigh atm. I'm weighing myself on the first Monday after he reaches 3 months, so that'll be...

June 18th.

divastrop · 06/06/2007 12:08

dolly-well done

i have another 3lb to go before i am back down to the weight i was when Elsie was 2 weeks (ie pre-marina coil).then i will have a stone to lose.i have lost 7lb since having the mirena taken out,but it was all water so doesnt count!

and it is still effing groundhog day with my flipping period,bloating,pain,irritability...but no action.i am getting so frustrated as i know it will be so much easier for me to lose weight once my periods return properly.im struggling atm.

dp is going to sort out that dvd tonight hopefully then i can do some excersise tomorrow.i dont know what time of day i will be able to do it

kittyhas6 · 06/06/2007 15:12

Well done Dolly
I have no idea what I weigh or measure. I guess I should do one or the other to see how I'm getting on.
Boo that's a good idead about waiting 'till three months. I just don't get the time to to exercises. It's very frustrating.

Booboobedoo · 06/06/2007 18:51

You've been running kitty! That's more than I've done.

foxcub · 06/06/2007 18:58

I walked 5 miles Monday
7.5 miles yesterday and 7.5 today PLUS No chocolate or sweet stuff.

So how come I'm still fat?

anyone would think I was old! Could it be middle age spread?

well done Kitty for the run.

divastrop · 06/06/2007 21:14

fox-i keep think ing the same.i dont eat that much,i walk all over the place pushing a heavy double buggy,i run up and down the stairs a million times a day,yet im still fat.maybe im just destined to be this size now im over 30.omg im going to start wearing granny knickers and elastcated jeans and start getting an overwhelming urge to shop in bon marche like my mum

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 21:50

Yeah, I feel as if my rolls are keen to stay put. I can feel them sitting on top of my newly yogalatayed muscles. I can feel a difference in my body from the excercise but I'm not losing a pick yet.
Dh brought me some lovely Pakistani clothes back and they are all too tight round the bust

Muppet the horse riding sounds like fun.

Foxy, if I could bear to wear one I could do with one of those corsets but I hate tight stuff. I like nice comfy clothing, flat shoes, I really do dress like my mother nowadays

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 21:56

oops double humph

divastrop · 06/06/2007 22:18

i will get back into my pre-preg jeans,i will

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 07:23

Now Where do you find these links?

I too am feeling very frustrated with the rolls of fat on my stomach, not to mention the overall layer of fat everywhere else

Blimey foxy, that's some walking, where do you go to walk so far?

I'm not really running, I'm staggering

Shrinkinglily · 07/06/2007 07:54

Diva hee hee, that is hilarious.

foxcub · 07/06/2007 08:48

I love those links!!!!

What worse than a grumpy old woman?

A FAT grumpy old woman!!!

Kitty - the school run is 1.25 miles (uphill might I add). If I do the return journey 3 times a day i.e. 1.25 x 6 that is 7.5 miles (pushing double buggy).

My biggest meal is my bowl of brekkie porridge. So why aren't I losing weight. I can actually feel the thigh muscles going when I walk, so why aren't I toning up???

Hmmmppphhh!

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 09:40

Foxy, you MUST be. Well, if you want to hurry the toning along get out peachy bum. I'm going for it in a min, actually have both babes asleep. I shan't be able to move tomorrow

muppethasakitten · 07/06/2007 09:49

Kitty I will be joining you and peachy bum today!

Riding yesterday was fab... not sure it's giving me much exercise but it gives the horse a workout

Foxy you'll defo be doing yourself some good with all that walking and remember it's not easy to lose weight when you're bfding.

kittyhas6 · 07/06/2007 12:09

Well, I managed to do the callenetics, boy was it hard. I couldn't do all the bum ones and the stretches were really hard as my body is so wooden and unfit. I had difficulty walking afterwards and tomorrow I'll be worse. Still, peachy bum here I come

Have you done yours yet muppet?

Booboobedoo · 07/06/2007 16:37

Well, I consumed my bodyweight in alcohol last night.

On the plus side, I din't eat much to soak it up.

Fox - I bet you are losing weight. How often do you weigh yourself?

muppethasakitten · 07/06/2007 16:43

Yep... am all callaneticked up... couldn't face doing the old pelvic scoops and loopy ones... just sit and laugh at those bits really...

I can't walk anyway from riding yesterday so god only knows what i'll be like tomorrow. Those thigh ones kill

... my fave is the thigh squeeze at the end becos it's just an excuse to sit down really
