March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

DollyPopsOut · 16/05/2007 16:58

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

have just prepped some potatoes to have as a lovely mash as i don;t feel very well.

diva! i even iron the baby clothes..
if i wasn't getting married in 2 months i would not be worrying about my tummy.. and i am v broody.. really want another baby before its too late (age)

my mum said housework is an excellent workout as she cast her eye round the house at the w/e. she then said it had to be "done properly" grrrr!

foxcub · 04/06/2007 17:23

eeerm both Diva [blush

I was wondering what ironing is too?

Sponge - how old are you then? You can't be as old as me

Shrinkinglily · 04/06/2007 19:40

or me

foxcub · 04/06/2007 19:46

40? You're just a baby Shrinky.

Wait until you get to 43 and still want babies!! LOL

foxcub · 04/06/2007 19:46

foxcub · 04/06/2007 19:47

...I felt the need to say it twice..

divastrop · 04/06/2007 21:29

at least they will keep you young!

i could be a grandmother by the time im 43

actually,dp's dad is 43

had a slice of bread and jam and some weetabix for my tea.i didnt find not eating bread atall made any difference, but when i gave up white bread 3 years ago and switched to wholemeal i felt so much better and less bloated.

Shrinkinglily · 04/06/2007 22:53

first chocolate free day down...one trillion to go!

Did my yogalates again, love it...feel great, woohoo.

Shrinkinglily · 05/06/2007 08:33

Technically I could be a granny at 43, ds1 will be 19 in three years time.

I dreamt really vividly that I accidently ate some chocolate

foxcub · 05/06/2007 10:07

no choc and no alcohol yesterday - [smug]

must do some callenetics tho'

foxcub · 05/06/2007 10:07

,,,wonder if white bread is worse then, re bloating..

Booboobedoo · 05/06/2007 11:46

Right.

Having eaten a family-sized bsr of chocolate last night (for Treat Monday you understand), I am now in control.

No booze tonight, and lots of healthy veggies.

divastrop · 05/06/2007 13:49

white bread/pasta etc are supposed to be worse then wholemeal for causing digestive problems.

i have had a yoghurt and a cheese sndwich sofar.i know i should have something healthier in a sandwich but i dont think i could give up cheese.

foxcub · 05/06/2007 14:00

I couldn't give up cheese either Diva! I mean you need a bit of substance and cheese is very satisfying. I eat masses of cheese.

In fact M&S do some delicious low fat cheeses - v expensive though..

Boo I like the idea of the treats

Wasn't Liza Minelli a bit porky?

Booboobedoo · 05/06/2007 15:47

She's a funny shape really. And she should rethink the black polo-necks IMO.

Boring food list:

2 crumpets & nutella for brekky + skinny latte

pasta salad & strawberries for lunch.

A definite improvement.

More importantly, I'm not having gargantuan portions of everything.

I currently have a 35" waist and it's not good enough.

foxcub · 05/06/2007 17:22

Brekkie: 3 oatcakes with butter and one without (Monti started crying)
Lunch - pasta salad (half a bowl - Monti started crying)
Tea - the other half of my pasta salad, two buttered ryvitas, 1 yogurt, 1 banana (Monti slept at last )

Oh, but my life is empty without chocolate . I miss those little trips to buy bars of G&Bs . I miss our little rendevous in the kitchen, when I'd sneak past the cuboard, then quickly open it to grab a piece of chocolate

I'm grieving girls

Shrinkinglily · 05/06/2007 20:00

I'm grieving too today Foxy, it's like I fell out with a lover, yesterday I didn't care but today I feel flat and dull without my fix. Just have to pass through the pain barrier...

Booboo I went and measured my waist and I'm 36" must, must, must do pilates again now.... Next tues will try and remember to measure again and see if I make any progress in a week with no chocolate and loads of excercise.

Shrinkinglily · 05/06/2007 20:08

oops, meant yogalates brain not working, low on fuel...

foxcub · 05/06/2007 20:20

me too

I'm glad we can share our pain

divastrop · 05/06/2007 20:21

my waist is 32/33 inches.i was just looking up clothes sizes and according to the chart i should be a size 16yet i have size 12 and 14 jeans that fit me.i was wearing size 16 jeans at the end of the pregnancy and they were way too big even just after i'd given birth.

i dont care as long as i get married in a size 10 dress!

spongecake · 05/06/2007 21:44

fox, i am 39..

have only managed the sit ups part of my regime today with a long walk. have put it down to feeling like crap with a cold and being woken at dawn by the baby..

have had cheese -my downfall- and yogurt today but nice pan fried tuna salad for tea. am so tired/ feel crappy that when i make it i can hardly eat it, which bothers me because of bf

have not measured my waist -what, are you ladies CRAZY??!!!-but can fit into size 12 linen trousers from New Look, but i still can't get into my pre-pgny jeans-they get stuck on my thighs

divastrop · 05/06/2007 22:16

sponge-i imagined you to be about 25 for some reason

well i just had pizza but ive decided that tuesday will be my treat day

kittyhas6 · 05/06/2007 22:37

Everynight I think I should have a rest from booze, but I don't (slap wrists). I had a jog around the village pond and it was horrid, I was so out of breath and my legs felt stiff and wooden. I have been recovering from this nasty cold bug and just now dp said to me " You don't often look tired even when you are but now you look tired" uh oh.

I LOVE cheese. I couldn't give it up. I struggled with giving up bread and still only have my breakfast toast.

Foxy and Shrinky, I think the first few days will be hardest for you then you'll get used to not havinng choc ( ducks as missiles come this way!)
Right shagged out ( I bloody wish ) off to bed

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 09:47

CHOCOLATE!

Shrinkinglily · 06/06/2007 09:49

sniff
