March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

DollyPopsOut · 16/05/2007 16:58

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

OP posts:

foxcub · 01/06/2007 22:53

I don't like complaining about food in case they spit in it !

kittyhas6 · 01/06/2007 22:57

He, he, diva, that's precisley what I told myself this evening!!!!

Well, if I have lager I have 1 normal bottle and one stubby,
if wine then aboiut 2 1/2 glasses, but I'm not sure as I've taken to topping them up so I don't know how much I'm having!!!
Last night I had 2 seriously strong gin and oranges. It's def getting worse, but I haven't got as bad as having a drink before the kids are in bed. A woman I knew would have wine when bathing the kids. If I did that i'd fall over before story time!
Do any of you go to bed feeling tipsy?

foxcub · 01/06/2007 23:00

am tipsy now! A friend and I agreed that its Ok to start drinking from 5.30pm onwards, as that is "evening time"

kittyhas6 · 01/06/2007 23:05

Enjoy foxy, I'm off to bed, hope I don't squash the baby in my somewhat drunk and befuddled state - bad mother

divastrop · 01/06/2007 23:10

i wont drink untill the lo's are in bed.i had 2 gin+oranges last night, but i made sure they were pub measures.
i used to drink loads,i mean,i would get a 1.5 litre bottle of lambrini every night and drink the whole thing, with lemonade, over the course of the evening/night.if i got a bottle of normal wine i would drink it in about an hour.

i stopped drinking as much when i met dp,as he hardly ever drinks atall, plus he once said(when we had been together about 2 weeks)that he found the smell of wine a huge turn off,so ever since then i just drink when im on here, then brush my teeth or have something to eat afterwards.

muppethasakitten · 02/06/2007 16:12

Don't want to jinx myself but the callanetics MUST be doing something cos I can just about squeeze into an old pair of size 12 jeans!

... certainly can't be the diet cos I'm still stuffing my face and drinking alcohol

... can't remember who was asking about good stomach exercises but i swear by the callanetics ones.

muppethasakitten · 02/06/2007 16:16

This holiday house has an indoor pool! I have been swimming but by god i was embarrassed in my swim suit!

foxcub · 02/06/2007 21:50
  • size 12??

I had some chocolate ice cream today and 1.5 bars of green and blacks plus a whole bottle of babycham

Muppet - I have the callenetics "stomache" vid, but haven't got around to watching it yet.

I'm kind of slowly mentally preparing to do some excercise, one day...

Shrinkinglily · 03/06/2007 11:31

Well I've had homemade pancakes for breakfast then half a twirl and some lindt balls...last day! Must get more choccy for today

I did my yogalates today and I am loving it.

So feeling optimistic now that if I keep up the yogalates and stop the chocolate habit I can finally make progress.

If I don't start going down in weight I'll have to change my name to rolypolylily

foxcub · 03/06/2007 12:33

Yeah and I'll be back to FatFox again

I'm eating way more than one bar of green and blacks atm, so I too am confident that by dropping all those calories, I'll make progress. I lost loads of weight but can feel it creeping back on again

Must make an effprt to watch that calenetics vid - oh and do some of the excercises too !

divastrop · 03/06/2007 16:50

im not even going to mention all the rubbish ive eaten over the weekend.i am still fed up waiting for af and feel like screaming

what really does my head in is that i was only a stone over my pre-preg weight before i had that mirena coil fitted, then i put 10lb on,and i have only managed to shift 5lb of it

i am going to be good from tomorrow!!

foxcub · 03/06/2007 22:10

I'm going to be good from tomorrow too after I've finished the last bit of chocolate, as I feel I'm getting fatter again now

Shrinky - R U ready for a chocolate free life?

Give me a "Y"

Give me a "E"

Give me a "S"!!

spongecake · 03/06/2007 22:11

hi there all you getting slimmer ladies. i plan to stop drinking wine for a couple of months- hopefully won;t be too hard as dp is working again and i don't like to drink alone, esp with the baby in bed.

i have a horrible sore throat tonight and have just had yogurt and ice cream, its v hard to swallow (no jokes and am nervous will be getting toncilitis.

whats this callentics? i do pilates every day now, so hope to get toned

foxcub · 03/06/2007 22:12

medicinal ice cream eh?

Kitty and Muppet can explain callenetics...(over to you, fit girls)

spongecake · 03/06/2007 22:25

yes foxy, white chocolate magnum ice creams are well known for their medicinal qualities. i have run out, and have eaten the dark choc ones as well. dp will be v cross but hope he will let me off as i ironed all his clothes today... !

Shrinkinglily · 03/06/2007 22:42

yuch

A friend called this evening and she brought a huge bag of chocolate, I had already eaten loads today..Hasan will be on cocoa all night!
So YES I am more than ready to give it up.

Wonder will I get a headache?

kittyhas6 · 03/06/2007 22:46

spongecake, we've all had/are having a yucky sore throat bug. It really knocks you for 6
Callentics is sort of based on pilates, but is more brutal and involves a pot plant and an old lady pretending to be an elephant

It works though!!

I've been quite good this weekend, but have eaten lots of choc bics after dinner.

I'm not counting alcohol in my calorie list.

Foxy and shrinky good luck with your choc free diet. I'll be ready to duck when you start throwing plates and picking fights on other threads!

Booboobedoo · 04/06/2007 11:50

I think I mentioned before that i'm a Weightwatchers gal. Well, this is not strictly part of the WW method, but after I got weighed on a Monday lunchtime I always ate whatever I liked for the rest of the day.

I refuse to give up things I like. Life's too short, and I only end up wanting it even more anyway.

So anytime I'm craving extra treats the rest of the week, I'd think 'save it for treat Monday'. It's always worked for me!

Also, I read cookbooks instead of snacking. Sounds weird, but it works.

No inch-loss this week.

foxcub · 04/06/2007 13:32

Boo I like your style!

Shrinky how are you doing today???

Sponge - I wouldn't do ironing for all the Magnums in Sainsburys Hate it Hate it. Although I might do it for DH if he'd let me have another baby (but that's another story entirely Ha ha)

Kitty - Do you do callenetics regularky - if so, how many times a week?

muppethasakitten · 04/06/2007 14:10

Kitty is accurate in her description of callanetics but forgot to mention it is set to 1970's porn music. However hilarious it looks though... it does bloody work... i love watching the pictures of that woman's arse shrinking before your very eyes!!!

Had top weekend with my family. Glad the London meet went well... any piccies???

Just booked my riding lesson for wednesday again and am trying to eat healthily today... branflakes, banana, cashews and mango, avocado salad... errr and quite a lot of chocolate cake...

divastrop · 04/06/2007 14:34

ive been ok sofar today, yoghurt and an apple for brekkie and half a king prawn and watercress sandwich for lunch(i only ate half cos it was horrible).

dp is sorting out an excersise dvd for me as i need to tone up(but i really dont like the sound of callanetics,i dont think i would stick with it).he keeps telling me im not fat and theres nothing wrong with my body though
its alright for him,he can eat what he likes and still have a perfect body

fox-another baby???spill-now!

kittyhas6 · 04/06/2007 14:50

Ooh, I love ironing , always have done. I used to earn pocket money ironing for other people during my teens. We've got an ironing press now so that's even better (how sad am I?)Gave myself a nasty burn with it the other day though.

foxy, what's this about another baby?

I haven't actually done any proper callenetics yet. There is one vid player and that's commandeerd by the kids during the day and I'm too knackered at night. I do the tummy ones as best I can in front of the tv and sometimes the arm and bum ones. I really need to do the vid properly but I think it might kill me

Shrinkinglily · 04/06/2007 15:44

Fox having another baby is very very bad for the figure! I'm broody for another too though Might just look forward to grannydom now though, I mean pregnancy ( }}}shudder{{{ ) and labour! ( }}}double shudder{{{ )

It's all Hasan's fault, he is such an easy wee man. Anyway I'm sure I will eventually shake off the broodiness.

Doing great without chocolate so far. I'll allow myself a Booboo's treaty monday when I've lost the weight.

foxcub · 04/06/2007 16:25

Shrinky promising herself a Booboo treat??

Does that mean chocolate???

How very, very dare she?

If you have a treat that means T am allowed one too doesn't it?

...its a slippery slope you know..

Monti is so easy I want another - DH would die of exhaustion though

divastrop · 04/06/2007 16:43

die of exhaustion-would that be through looking after the baby or making the baby?

what is this 'ironing' you all speak of?

i was very naughty and had a feast ice-cream.but the heat is affecting me badly and i threw it up

thats put me off chocolate and ice cream for a while.
