i'll be 2nd on the new thread (especially with my 'thatch' baby being mentioned )

MrsCarrot · 11/05/2007 12:42

shiny thread, or shiny head hurray for baldies, although we have a thatch, with dreadlocks

Wilkie · 11/05/2007 12:46

Nemo, very quick post cos J ain't happy today after his jabs yesterday.....re weaning. J was a nightmare with his milk until I started giving him solids. Now he wolfs his solids first and then his entire bottles. Very very strange and the HV gave me an odd look when I told her but I'm telling you it's tru.

Obv I'm not trying to persuade you to wean but though you might be interested to hear my story

ooooh shiny new thread!! woo hoo!!

well we are a bit fucked - dh just rang me and said that the money for the car has gone in - which brings us £440 in credit. the car is £2,200, and the rent (which hasn't gone out yet) is £495. which means we can't afford the car. fuck.

Hello all

Ethan's not been well the few days he's had a cold and d&v virus so he's been sleeping lots more during the day poor thing. He seems a bit better today though and more his happy self again.

He's 17 weeks now, can't believe where the time has gone!

Is anyone still breastfeeding? How long are you planning on doing it? Was anyone else other than UD interested in BLW? Just wondered how many are going to wait until 6 months too as I've seen a few of you are already weaning.

Will do some personals at some point but Ethan's awake and grinning at me now Looks like his hair is starting to grow through blonde like his brother. He's also been teething now, chews everything but mainly his finger, looks so cute. We've been using the teething powders and they seem ok, bongela has worked too though.

Hope you're all well

Nemo2007 · 11/05/2007 13:04

wilkie thanks for that

urban bugger about the car

currently 1 hand typing while balancing 2 moaning girls..sigh.

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 13:06

Hi Jodie - long time! I am still 50% BF and 50 % FF. Not sure if thats ok, but its working for us. Will probably cut down to BF only in the morning over the next month or so. I asked my HV about BLW, and she had never heard of the term.
UD - sorry, meant Z. Am a div. Need more food...like I said, waisting away...!

Nice thread title Wilks. DJ's baby hair is falling out, he has a reclining hair line and isnt even 4 months yet!

bloody hell...another new one!

JodieG1 · 11/05/2007 13:19

Sounds good though Liz Are you thinking of BLW then?

Shimmer · 11/05/2007 13:45

Horray for bald babies (and all the other ones too )
Ok I was just preparing myself to do a huge moany post about my mum... but I've changed my mind and am determined to be cheerful instead
Lizz did you decide what pudding to make?? I was going to suggest chocolate mouse but I see someone (from the last thread can't be bothered to go back and check) got in there first.

Online bingo PCF? You might to able to interest RGee I spose....

UDabout Z's jabs and the car. I'm taking F for his 3rd ones next week and am dreading it. My DP NEVER washes up his bowl in the mornings. I find we get on so well now and never fight because i've learnt not to expect much from him

Hi Jodie. We haven't started weaning yet either. I guess I'm just waiting til he gives me some sort of "sign" that he's ready. But at the moment he's happy with his milk and sleeping through the night (did I tell y'all we have succesfully dropped the dreamfeed?? Horray!) so there's not much reason to change things. I have started reading about weaning though - what foods they should have and how to make them etc. Thinking we'll have to invest in a food processor. A steamer might be a good idea too i think, but we have a tiny kitchen and not a lot of worktop space for all this new equiptment!! I haven't read a lot about blw, but i think giving some finger foods is a great idea, so i think we'll probably be doing that as well as some puree. Was a bit worried about choking with just giving them sticks of food, but found this which i think looks good feeder

Shimmer · 11/05/2007 14:04

Carrot - I work(ed?) for Borders. Some of you might know it? They tend to be in or near big towns/cities. I had only been a buyer for about 9 months before i left on ML, so i was working on some rather random non-fiction areas (what they call "lifestyle" - gardening, cookery, health, nature, stuff like that). Before i got into buying i was assistant manager at Borders flagship store on oxford street, which i loved, but it was damn hard work. Got to work with all the new fiction stuff there though, which was more interesting. Once upon a time I used to love my job
Still very much undecided what i'm doing about going back though. The buying job was very full-on and they won't want me part time, so i could go back into a store part time, but i doubt they could give me anything like my old position back.... Do you work in publishing?

katwith3kittens · 11/05/2007 14:10

W is 20 weeks today and I cant believe where the time has gone either.

Jodie, I am still BF too, and aiming not to wean before 26 weeks, but tbh I'm not sure if i'll get that far before introducing any food. Having said that sleeping has improved again now, so maybe it was just a growth spurt last week ?

I must get some pictures sorted out soon too. I did a Cherubs shoot last time which is they sit at 4, 8 and 12 months, so three times the expense eek, but I'm not sure if its still done these days. I also got a cheapy one done at Sainsburys when DS1 was a year old, totally unplanned and tbh its one of my favourite pictures, so much for expensive professionals !

Right, thats it for now, I really need to get off this computer before I become addicted. Have a good weekend and not too much gassin (chatting)

Wilkie · 11/05/2007 14:23

Lizz - LOL 'reclining' hairline - do you mean receeding???? Defo need more sugar

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 11/05/2007 14:25

Jodie, G is 16 weeks (I think...maybe 15) and I'm not planning on weaning any time soon.

JodieG1 · 11/05/2007 14:26

Shimmer - I need to get a new steamer, think I'm going for one that is like a pot
and sits on the hob with 2 parts above it. Like this but you can
also get them like this that will fit on top of your normal pot. Have a look at the blw blog here as it's a really good source of info.

Kat - Could be that it was just a growth spurt. It's worth bearing in mind though that food won't make up for the milk as it has less calories so a lot of baby's will be even hungrier as the food fills their stomach but provides less fuel. I'm waiting until Ethan can sit and get the food into his own mouth and actually eat it hehe

JodieG1 · 11/05/2007 14:27

Lth - he's one of the youngest then I think, awww.

LadyTophamHatt · 11/05/2007 14:27

he's 16, nearly 17 weeks.

LadyTophamHatt · 11/05/2007 14:28

is he jodie??
I sure i wasn'tthe last.

maybe hes the ypungest left on the thread.

JodieG1 · 11/05/2007 14:32

I meant out of those still here sorry should have said. I think he is anyway, though the other babies were older.

JodieG1 · 11/05/2007 14:32
