Aidan robert - Aidan because we wanted something a bit different also my dh loves horse racing and there is a trainer named Aidan Obrien so that is where that came from, robert is after my dear fil who died in 1997 at the age of 40 from a blood clot so he was always going to have robert as his middle name.

Lauren mackenzie - Well she was always going to be a brooke then we went on holiday and heard a little girl called lauren and we both liked that name so brooke went out of the window however a few weeks before she was born dh said he liked holly I flipped and told him how stupid that was calling her holly so near to xmas think my brains were elsewhere as I do like that name but we do love lauren. Mackenzie well this is a long one my dad is adopted his real mum had him when she was 15 in scotland she was from a very well to do family her dad was a doctor so her being pg was a big bad thing so when my dad was born he was sent to nottingham for adoption the only thing my dad knows is his real surname was mackenzie when my grandparents died he was so upset and had a mad idea about trying to trace his real mum however my mum talked him out of it so we thought that it would be touching to call her mackenzie.

Really hope they find little maddie on her 4th birthday xxx

Morning all. Fairly boring day here today. Dp at work so just me and the LO to amuse ourselves again! I've decided Dp and I really need to get a new bed as i keep getting horrible backache and our mattress is really old and really crap so might take Freddie bed shopping. Bet he'll love that Then planning an evening of wine and dominios and eurovision later on. Perfect!

Think it was Wilkie who recommended the baby einstein dvds?? Just have to say they're fab!! Freddie absolutely loves them. We've had baby mozart on twice already this morning and i've already had breakfast, got washing on, washed up from last night () and cleaned the bathroom. So, I'm neglecting my baby a tiny bit... but he's happy and getting brainy so it's okay... right??..... I just got baby van gogh and baby shakespeare from ebay too (£10 for both inc. postage!) so horray even more time for me to MN!!

Nemo2007 · 12/05/2007 09:11

hello all
love some of the names you had/have.
We have
Adam David who was always going to be Adam because when DH and I first met we just knew we would have a son called Adam. David is after my dad and Dhs dad.

Hannah May, loved the name Hannah and we had a mc before we concieved her and it means gift from god and she really is. May was for my nan and dhs nan who were called Mary.

Chloe Alexandra because Adam picked the name Chloe[we had settled on Charlotte] and when I was pg he told me all the time I was having his sister Chloe so when she came out a pinkie we couldnt name her anything else!! Alexandra is after my sister who is also Cs godmother.

We had Samuel Jesse picked if Chloe had been a boy which we were convinced she was!!

Nemo2007 · 12/05/2007 09:12

Meant to ask is anyone else doing Mile for Maude today? If so hope you all have lovely weather and a good walk!

MrsCarrot · 12/05/2007 09:30

Morning all. Well, I stuffed my face with a thai and bottle of champagne at a friends last night, and we watched the pilot episode of Beverley Hills 90210, remember that. Old shannon doherty and jason priestly, pin-up of just17? Great stuff!! Feel a bit crap today though, not least because I've put 51bs on SINCE the wedding, weighed in today. 12 stone 5. Sigh. Well, I'm cuttung dairy out again as F excema and watery eyes has come back since I've been stuffing lurpak! If it clears up in five days I will catagorically agree that dairy DOES get into breastmilk, and hopefully it will stop me having butter thicker than the biscuit

My older two are Harry James and Alice Olivia, and we chose those just because we liked them. Felix was going to be Rudy up until the last minute when DH said he'd never really liked it. He couldn't think of anything he preferred so we bought a book and I said the only name I liked in it was Felix and said, 'I love that name' and that was that really. It sort of has meaning too, as when I found out I was pregnant I was down about it, dh has just lost his mother and relationship was a mess. Really didn't know if we'd stay together. We did. Obviously, as we just got married but apparently, St felix was a local Saint who built bridges between here and Kent (where dh is from), which is a bit weird as we didn't know that till after, so the name has meaniing for us, retrospectively anyway.

Sebastian was the older brother of two very good looking boys at my school, the younger was called rudy, and I've always remembered their names not sure DH knows that actually. oops.

canmummy · 12/05/2007 10:15

Good morning! Quick post while lo feeds

MrsC - sounds like you had a great time last night. I think me and you are defying the books with gaining weight while bfeeding

Morning Nemo!

Shimmer - I've got an afternoon with lo as dh at work and mil taking older 2 to some show their cousins in. Think I might go shopping too but for holiday clothes that actually fit

RGee - have a lovely time at sous le nez, I went there about 4 years ago don't think I've told you I lived in Leeds for over 10 years (still prefer it to where we live now)

Hope everyone else having a good weekend!

Lizzzombie · 12/05/2007 10:40

Big up for Baby Einstein dvds and Cds. Also, have you found Rock a baby cd's? They are musical versions of Radiohead, the beatles, Nirvama, Led Zepplin...they are quite good too!

Pudding night is tonight. Will post photos of finished fairy cakes now. I think Nigella suggestsmaking far too much icing on purpose, so make your cakes look sht compared to her perfect ones. If anyone else makes her fairy cakes, you only need about 125g of royal icing. I made 250g and had f*k loads, and she actually suggest 500g. Fat Bitch!

LTH - I didnt know about the Mile for Maude thing.

Hope it goes well.

DP has taken LO to a Dad's Baby Massage session....soooo out of his comfort zone! Was winding him up saying he had to give the other dads massages too, and that everyone did it in their pants. V. amusing!

We chose LO's full name: Dylan (DP thinks after Bob Dylan - yeah as if!, Dylan means son of the sea/wave, and we live on the sea front) Jack, I really liked that name but DP wouldn't have it as a first name, and I like having a "DJ" (like on Rosanne!) Peter is my dads name and I felt bad coz my Dad has 2 daughters and our family name will die out when we are married. I don't have a middle name myself (lazy parents!) so have given my LO 2. This is obviously because I am a posh southern person!

PCF - are you relaxing on your patio with your new garden furniture today? x

Lizzzombie · 12/05/2007 10:47

Please feel free to drool over my photos!

MrsCarrot · 12/05/2007 11:08

I say, Lizz, those are mighty fine lookin buns! yum, yum

and I have to say I will never, ever, say nom nom!! I don't know why but I can't stand it!!!

Shimmer · 12/05/2007 11:16

Lizz you truely are the domestic goddess! Though obviously a lot better than nigella "that fat bitch"! PMSL!!

theUrbanDryad · 12/05/2007 11:25

hiya everyone! well i am fuckin FUMING!!! we were supposed to be driving down to Bristol today to go to a comic convention (geeeeeeek -but it's also sort of work for us) and you know how we went through hell and high water to get a car sorted so we could definitely go and yadadadada....well, backtracking slightly, i have to tell you that when we looked at this car to buy it, it wasn't in very good shape. it did have 10 months MOT, but there was an oil leak, and smoke coming out of exhaust, and the back doors were knackered. anyway, the upshot is that there was a lot of work that needed doing on it, and we said to the dealer that if all the work was done and it was put through a service and MOT we would buy it for the screen price. anyway, back to today, and we're heading out of town with my bf and his girlfriend (and Z) in the car, i've made up Thermos, i've made sandwiches, we've all ahd to get up super early......and then we look out the back window and there is smoke literally pouring out the exhaust!! and the doors are still fucked. so we thought, well maybe it's because it's had a service, and there's a lot of oil in the car, we'll keep going and see if it gets any better. anyway, we were just on the M40, and Greg (my best friend) says "Em...there's rather a lot of smoke round your legs." THERE WERE ACTUAL FUMES COMING INTO THE ACTUAL CAR WHERE MY BABY WAS!!!
i swear, if there is anything wrong with Z (and i don't think there is, tbh) and it's because that fucking dealership haven't done their job properly i will burn the place down and salt the ground with lime. then i'll send them all to the special hell reserved for paedophiles and people who talk at the theatre.

so dh has gone to take the car back to the place and give them merry hell. i know he won't cut them any slack. i just hope he's remembered to keep a window open driving back there!

ok, i feel a bit better for writing it all down. sorry to rant at you guys, i know some of you don't like swearing but i have to get it out or i feel like i might explode.

anyway, Z would have had Oliver as a first name, except it's the name of my godson and would've been too confusing. the only other name we could agree on for a boy was Zachary, although dh wanted to call him Brock (cause he looked like a badger on the scan pics) but i was like, NO he has to have this name for the rest of his life, and Oliver was partly for my godson and partly from one of dh's uncles. if Z had been a girl he would've been Mariana Elise, and if we have another one and she's a girl then i think we'll probably still use that one.

did anyone else think that finding nice/good boy's names was a lot harder than finding girl's name??

Lizzzombie · 12/05/2007 12:18

UD - thats awful, you poor thing. Will it make it better if I sent you a couple of cakes? x

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 14:32

MrsC, my Ds1 is a harry james too!

MrsCarrot · 12/05/2007 15:46

really, LTH, that's a coincidence? How old are your boys? I'd have another one if I knew he'd be like lo, he's such a treasure, really easy-going. Dh definitely doesn't want four though.

UD- oh, dear what a day, hope your car situation improves

Lizz- I am having a bad day too, very bad indeed, can't think what would improve it. What's that you say? Send me a cake? Oh no need, really no, oh go on then

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 15:55

he's just 8 Mrs C.

theres another harry james on Mn too.... Popsycals Ds2.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 15:56

sorry ds2 is 6 in a few weeks, ds3 is 3.8 yrs.

MrsCarrot · 12/05/2007 16:06

wow, you have your hands full then, 4 boys 8 and under. Ds1 is 9.5 and DD 5.5, they're both at school now so the days are quite quiet. I think F misses them.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 16:09

ohhh I long for quiet days

Ds3 goes to playschool 3 times a week(only just started doing 3 days though) but that just means I'm in and out of the house an extra 3 times.
Doesn't mean I get any peace and quiet!

The amount of to-ing and fro-ing I do with the kids you'd think I'd be a size 8, slim line waif.

I'm not.
Not by a long shot.

Lizzzombie · 12/05/2007 16:19

No size 8's allowed on this thread...have some cake LTH!
& Here's some for you Mrs C too!
[(o)]

Lizzzombie · 12/05/2007 16:20

To clarify from previous posts:
[(o)] = cupcake from above emotion
(o)(o) = normal boobs
( o )( o ) = my boobs

LadyTophamHatt · 12/05/2007 16:24

Lizzz, I am not and will never be a size 8.

TBH I wouldn't want to be either....so give me a large slice of cake

I'm a nice squishy, rounded size 14 since having G. I was a 10-12 before.
I'm happy in my skin as I am now.

canmummy · 12/05/2007 17:00

Good news! Abigail's passport has arrived so we can go on holiday hooray!!!! And I'm just back from the shops and have found a bikini that my belly doesn't hang over the top of Like the others .... I'm not a size 8 or 10 or 12....

Hello girls. Just caught up with the goings on.

Oi Lizz - chuck us a cake - they look lush

We haven't done a massive amount today. Went to ILs with J as they are going on hols tomorrow and wanted to see him before he went. He is so crabby though (I assume this is cos of his 3rd lot of jabs - anyone else had this over a period of 48 hours??) and he screamed and screamed at theirs for about half an hour before crashing out on their bed bless him

UD - that is appalling about your car. I would go mental.

MrsC - very disappointed that you don't say nom nom. Almost as bad as LTH refusing to say Tummy Time

Where oh where has 2Happy disappeared to?? Hope she's OK.

Asked our friends to be unofficial godparents today cos we haven't yet decided whether to have J christened and I wanted to make them godparents cos they are very close and special friends. They are pleased. Anyone else doing christenings if you haven't already??

What are people's thoughts on baby walkers? I've heard they can bow baby's legs but J constantly wants to be stood...

ellieandhattie · 12/05/2007 19:45

Evening ladies, well as expected I spent a small fortune in the photo place today, met brothers gf and her ds and walked into town with Hattie (Ellei had day with her daddy) we did a bit of shopping headed to photo place and viewed 100+ photos. They have it all sussed you sit on nice comfy leather sofas with a drink, toys out for kids etc and photos projected onto a wall.

They were all gorgeous but v.expensive we chose a package that was 8 photos for £240 but bargained an extra 3 pics in to the deal (paid half each). There were some great shots but I absoluley fell in love with one of hattie in black and white staring straight into the camera and one of ellie cuddling her fav teddy bear picture in black and white but they have left mr bear in colour, loads more and was hard to choose we had to keep narrowing it down till we got to 11 should have them in 3 weeks so will post them on here.

Then went to mum and dads for the afternoon and got home to find florist on my door big boquet of flowers and card from brother and gf to say thanks for inviting them to photo shoot and thanks for all my help (lent them spare travel cot/pishchair etc to leave at my brothers house for when she and ds visit) they are gorgeous bright pink gerbillas (sp) and green things (not very up to date on flowers) I never get flowers delivered so it was lovely surprise and must text them in a mo to say thanks. I really really hope things work out for them as her ds loves my brother and he is sch a cutie and she is so easy to get on with, shes considering relocating down here but it'll be hard for her as she currently lives with her mum and she doesnt drive so it'll be a distance but I promised I'll be around to help with ds and introduce her to other people with kids etc.

Got to go to il's for lunch tomorrow which will mean Ellie will show off at dinner time and all eyes will be on me to deal wih it, if they all ignored her she wouldnt do it
