oh and got a 2nd buggy board with all the connectors etc from local paper for £20 bargain and ellie likes riding on it!!

vinorouge · 12/05/2007 21:27

Rgee - trust you had a good feed and are happily catching up with Eurovision now. I have to confess I've been humming 'flying he flag' all day.....sad as in sad I fear.DH asked me to stop singing it at one point!

Shimmer - I've kept thinking about baby einstein dvds since Wilkie mentioned them. i think of each time I put my one and only singalong cd on again and again so you may just have inspired me to get out there and get purchasing!

Wilkie/Rgee - forgive me for not knowing but a) where is Flixborough and b) what happened there?

Mrs Carrot - OH YES I REMEMBER BEVERLEY HILLS 90210. It was so cool !!!!!

UD - I agree its hard finding nice boys names. Don't honestly know what we'd have chosen if it had been a boy. Out list was sparse and we weren't really keen on any of them.

We've had a lovely day today. Went to some gorgeous national trust woods/river etc with an old watermill so enjoyed walk by the river and handily avoided the rain. My picnic was yummy too! Met IL's there and I decided maybe they aren't so bad after all.
HAving a quiet day at home tomorrow. CHilling out watching Kill Bill 2 at the mo with some galaxy - not much though cos I ate most of it last night

Wilkie · 12/05/2007 21:33

Steady on Vino - 4 posts in as many days..... nice to have you back

Flixborough disaster was a power station that exploded in 1974 and killed 28 people

Had to post this as it really really made me laugh and is SO true it's scary!

SYMPTOMS OF BEING OVER 25

  1. You leave clubs before the end to "beat the rush". (worse still you don't go to the clubs)
  1. You get more excited about having a roast on a Sunday than going clubbing the night before.
  1. You stop dreaming of becoming a professional footballer /basketball player and start dreaming of having a son who might instead.
  1. Before throwing the local paper away, you look through the property section.
  1. All of a sudden, middle aged people are not 46, they are only 46.
  1. Before going out anywhere, you ask whether there is anywhere to park.
  1. Rather than throw a knackered pair of trainers out, you keep them because they'll be alright for the DIY or in the garden.
  1. You buy T-shirts without anything written on them.
  1. Instead of laughing at the innovations catalogue that falls out of the newspaper, you suddenly see both the benefit and money saving properties of most of the things that are in it.
  1. You start to worry about your parents' health.

  2. You have more disposable income, but everything you want or need to buy costs between 200 and 500 quid.

  3. You don't get funny looks when you buy a Disney video or a Wallace And Gromit bubble bath, as the sales assistant assumes they are for your children.

  4. Pop music all starts to sound the same.

  5. You opt for Pizza Express over Pizza Hut because they do a really nice half-bottle of house red.

  6. You always have enough milk in.

  7. To compensate for the fact that you have little desire to go clubbing, you instead frequent trendy bars and restaurants in the mistaken belief that you have not turned into your parents.

  8. While flicking through the TV channels, you happen upon C4's Time Team with Tony Robinson. You get drawn in. Grand Designs also appeals.

  9. The benefits of a pension scheme become clear.

  10. You go out of your way to pick up a colour chart from B&Q.

  11. You wish you had a shed.

  12. You have a shed.

  13. You actually find yourself saying "They don't make 'em like that anymore" and "I remember when there were only 4 TV channels" and "Not in my day...."

  14. Radio 2 play more songs you know than Radio 1 - and Jeremy Vine has some really interesting guests on.

  15. Instead of tutting at old people who take ages to get off the bus, You tut at rowdy school children.

  16. When sitting outside a pub you admire their hanging baskets.

  17. You find yourself saying "is it cold in here or is it just me?"

  18. You understand the above and forward it to your fellow aging friends.

Ohhh the new chocolate brownies from dominios are NIIIIIIICE

JodieG1 · 12/05/2007 22:14

Vino - you have done great, if I remember the stats then most woman don't bf that long.

DH - no probs. we have allergies in the family which is why we're holding off weaning and also because of the posible health problems it causes to baby. Even though Ethan is a little porker he's doing fine on just milk Ethan is losing hair too, especially from the areas where he's lying down or held a lot, looks a bit odd hehe. He's had some cradle cap but I have to confess to picking it a bit as it was too tempting and I'm not a picker generally just something about it.

Rgee - hope you enjoy your evening out.

Liz - I love cooking and baking, nearly always cook from scratch and have made biscuits and cakes these past few days so far. I'm a size 8 but boobs are still
( 0 )( 0 ) right now, they've been getting bigger since having my first child lol. I'm sure I'll put on weight when I stop bf though as I eat loads of crap now but just can't put on weight.

UD - sorry about the car Finding a boy's name was much harder than finding a girl's for us.

Wilkie - we're hoping to get Ethan christened soon, both the others are and have our friends as godparents, also my uncle and my dad. I think babywalkers are fine when used in moderation. I think the max is about 20 mins at a time. Ethan loves standing up as well, he's always standing up on our lap's and he is getting good at sitting too, can manage a few seconds on his own before he starts to lean forward.

EAH - photos sound lovely, I want to get some done of us all soon. Still have to get a cast of Ethan's hands and feet done as we had that done for our first two and they're up on the wall.

Lol wilkie at that over 25's post, I do lots of those, I'm 28 hehe. I saw some really fab t-shirt today though with great slogans from 24 on them. A couple of my fave are:

If you wake up this morning then it's because Jack spared your life

What would Jack do?

Jack Bauer wouldn't take this crap

Nemo2007 · 12/05/2007 22:17

Need to quickly scan through the rest of the posts.

TheShopaholic · 12/05/2007 22:51

Shimmer - you've got me excited about the baby einstein dvd's. I ordered them on ebay last week and am desperate for them to arrive. Think I got a bargin - all 23 for £35. It's a boxed set and meant to be original but that remains to be seen .

UD - that's so awful about the car. I would be mega peed off.

Took S to baby massage on Thursday and she loved it. Have been trying to get to a class for a while but they've been booked solid so glad that it's finally our time. That's my Thursday mornings planned for the next few weeks. Did give her funny coloured poo though for the next day

Headed up to Dundee with my mum today for a spot of shopping . First time I've been there with the pram on a Saturday and it was a nightmare - won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Wilkie · 13/05/2007 06:49

First one on the thread this morning thank you Jacob!!

Shop - the Baby Einstein DVDs are excellent although I bought one off eBay and it wasn't original but then again, if it plays fine what does it matter?? J loves his (Van Gough one) cos it has so many bright colours on it.

Jodie - thanks for info re baby walker. May have to invest. J can sit now for about 4-5 seconds before slowly leaning forward so his nose is on the carpet

I dreamt that I found that little Maddie girls last night safe and sound. Woke up crying. Wonder if there is any news today?

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 07:06

maybe the 1st on the thread today wlkie but G has had me up since 5:30 so i win.

DS3 was in a baby walker from about 5 months, He drove me nuts by wanting to be standing or carried all the time and he only wanted me to carry him or stand him up.

I strted using the walker so that as least he could do it himself. I didn't mind him following me around all the time but carrying him made my back agony and anyway if I wanted to get away I could just go upstairs

I'm not going to use one this time though, partly because I'm not forking out for one but also because it made ds2 and 3 really lazy with trying to walk on their own. They didn't walk until about 14 months( I think maybe a bit later) so with G I'm going to try and do without one.

ellieandhattie · 13/05/2007 08:03

LTH I feel your pain we have been up since 5.30 today (well correction I have been up since 5.30 Hattie back asleep in her cot and DH gone back to bed so Ellie and I are spring cleaning)

Over 25 thing sooooo true especially since kids was 24 when fell pg with Ellie but 25 when I had her.

Shimmer mm brownies nom nom!!

That list of babies looks so small compared to the amount of people that were actually on the antenatel thread I tink we had 69 people at one point, not sure where they all went????

Hvae chosen the colour for Hatties room dulux lilac something (with a bot of help from wilkie last night ta mate) so off to B&Q at 10 as I have child free day tomorrow (my mum having a trial day at having them both as its not that long before I go back to work and she wants to practice a bit )

Wilkie fingers crossed re your dream I was reading a thread about a physic who predicted this happening I'll see if I can find the link

ellieandhattie · 13/05/2007 08:07

this was on another thread

This man is well known in America and it seems he prdicted this on the 1st Feb but he believes Madeleine was kidnapped by someone and then 'sold' to a couple who wanted a chid lets hope its true

Nemo2007 · 13/05/2007 08:56

Morning all..also been up since the crack of dawn..yawnnnnnnnnnn, Have peeled and chopped veg for roast, cleaned kitchen, bleached patio and just need to hoover and mop.All the little fishes are dressed etc and am trying to find somewhere to go today!!

Put Chloe and Hannah to bed in the same room last night which went surprisingly well!! Both went to bed at 7pm no problems, Chloe did her usualy waking up about 10 times but it never once disturbed Hannah. Then Hannah came in at 5.45am this morning while Chloe stayed asleep. So all in all that was a good night as was worried when Chloe cried Hannah would wake up. Think we will make it a permanent move even if it does mean me physically having to get right out of bed to see to C.

LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 09:01

nemo, I've found that the more kids you have the better they sleep with noise.

Ds4 sleeps through anything, its only suddenly really loud thinsgthat wake him.

Nemo2007 · 13/05/2007 09:07

God LTH I wish it was true but Hannah is my only decent sleeper and that didnt start till she was 7months old..lol Ds1 is a nightmare sleeper and came into our room 3 times last night...looks like Chloe is taking after him more than H..pmsl

LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 09:12

ok...that blows my theory out the water

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2007 09:28

omg, Nemo, that's super efficient! I've just about managed to make myself some porridge

I dreamed about the little girl too, except she sort of morphed into my baby and I could n't get her in the sea etc. Horrible. I saw that link too, EAH, weird. I really WANT it to be true but I can't help thinking that these sort of things bring out werdos, didn't read the thread properly though, was there proof that he'd had that dream before the event? Lots of the things had feb 1st on it. I felt quite chilled looking at the dream drawings though.

like you, LTH, I find F just sort of fits in with the noise and chaos, probably because I'm more relaxed about it. I remember with ds1, no-one was even allowed to flush the loo

Baby Einstein, I remember those. Now there's another controversial mnet topic for you, people get really heated about that. I think we've still got baby shakespeare somewhere, dd loved singing along to the abc and they had loads of poems. I haven't got the others though, are they music to the balls and shapes and things? Did you say 23 in the set, Shopaholic? I'm not sure I can think of 23 genius, who are they all

LadyTophamHatt · 13/05/2007 09:31

G fell asleep when DH was using the hammer drill the other day.

Ok he woke up again a few minutes later but OMG it was noisy!

Wilkie · 13/05/2007 09:46

Just had a photo shoot in the bedroom of Little J. Check out the results on my profile. I might have to eat him....

Ugly bald baby my ass....

ellieandhattie · 13/05/2007 09:48

Wilkie · 13/05/2007 09:49

Maybe a bit of both 'A La Monk Look' hair round sides but bald on top????

OP posts:
ellieandhattie · 13/05/2007 09:51

remember ellie had that look for a while when she lost her hair

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2007 09:52

Oh, Wilkie, they are lovely pictures, he's very beautiful. Chav girls probably back shagging their dogs by now! maybe too early for such an image! Sorry about the nom nom by the way, we all have these little things do we not? I can't stand it when people lick yoghurt tops either
