HI ALL!!!

No I haven't dropped off the face of the earth am still around. DH has had first week back at work this week after 8 (yes 8) weeks off, 2 weeks paternity leave and 6 weeks following knee op.

Reality has really hit home this week as to how hard its going to be having 2 2 look after now. T not been very settled either this week, tho the thrush has cleared. Sympathies to everyone with the same problem cos i know how horrid it is.

I feel really to say it but i can't wait to start bottle feeding then at least we can take turns during the night etc.

Been jogging again today! and am sure am losing weight tho not getting on the scales just yet. I know thats not priority really but considering the weight i put on with ds1 and the excuses i made in losing it i am sticking with it this time, boring tho it might be.

Anyway, yes this week has been quite hard with less and less time to do any "me" things at all, hence not being around on MN.

T putting on weight and has got his 6 week check next week 6 weeks already my god where does the time go!!!

There is NO chance of catching up this time so am gutted if i have missed anything, that would be an idea Ellie you could do a weekly "summing up" email with the most useful/interesting bits of the week (thats if you haven't got enough to do already of course lol).

Hope everyone is fit and well and still enjoying their babies xxx

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:32

Also there are quite a few name changes - who's who???

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:33

yes maam

i'll make it my next challenge, have given up on housework already

the MN one goes out on a thursday and that's the day Matthew is at nursery so i'll aim for then!

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:34

the others are all me

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:41

And while i get the chance many CONGRATS to the last two mummies, Glitterkitty and Bumble.

I feel all nostalgic and a bit sad reading thru the list of names now x

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:42

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:42

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:43

hi a real live person to talk to wow?

No i feel sad cos they were exciting times and its now all over (not over but u know what i mean).

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:44

you mean now we're stuck with the crying, shitting babies instead of the dreams of gorgeous placid newborns?

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:45

yeh that could be it

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:46

have you not been reading my emails love? if you had you'd have known who Kneehigh was

or was it just my boredom related name changes confusing you?

Pinions · 12/05/2007 21:56

I know kneehigh there was an NG now realise thats nutty and someone mentioned "vio" not sure who that is?

Can everyone stop changing their name its hard enough to keep up as it is !!! lol xxx

and boredom related i would love the chance to get bored.

anyway now that i've got you you can do me a summary now, anything "major" this week???

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 22:00

erm, don't think so

we've all sprogged now, Glitterkitty and Bumble this week.

Vio is a friend of the ladies in Scotland, not from this thread which is why you don't recognise the name

Smole is doing ok, baby Jesse has hole in the heart but keeping positive

Dippy doesn't stop, has been doing stuff all week and back to work in a week i think

WO hasn't been on, but we think all is ok

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 22:04

maveta and eca had problems with tongue tie but eca has it sorted now, no news from maveta

nutty hasn't been too well but has kicked dh into shape now and is happier!

as we speak LuceWheel is moving to scotland

and lots of 'poo' talk

Pinions · 12/05/2007 22:05

Well that sums it up thanks x

Thought i dodn't recognise the name Vio.

Dippy seems to be in a frenzy every time shes on and going back to work next week .

Hope Wo is ok.

MESSAGE FROM MR ELKIEDEE

Dear Ellen and mumsnetters

Elkiedee and baby Danny have had to go into hospital because Danny
wasn't getting enough milk.

We really believe things will be fine but would value positive milky
vibes sent our way.

Mikey.

IsabellyMoi · 12/05/2007 22:08

First things first: Sincere apologies for being silent for SO long. AngeG I'm especially sorry that I haven't been in touch with you as I took a quick glance at some posts and see you've been wondering what became of your buddy. Sorry!

All's fine here. The long silence is only because I've had my Mom over from Canada for the last 3 weeks and wanted to make the most of her visit here - and of course, I've been wrapped up in being a mummy to baby James but you all know what that is like! I've felt quite well so have been out and about and just haven't got around to checking MN at all.

Details on birth and since (for those who want them!)
On Monday the 23rd I saw a consultant to book an induction for Wednesday night/Thursday a.m. A semi-routine scan on that Monday showed that I had NO amniotic fluid left (!). This was a cause for concern and I was admitted right away. They offered a c-section or said I could try induction. We chose the induction but amazingly I went into labour naturally before they could give me the Prostin. I was continuously monitored throughout because they considered me a high risk case because of the total lack of waters. Laboured from 7am Tuesday 'til 8:30pm that evening only to find out I was only 3cms! They suggested epidural, I agreed, epidural didn't really work, they topped it up, re-sited it etc...still only offered partial pain relief. Finally, James Tristan was born at 2:54am on Wednesday morning with the help of ventouse. All in all, a positive experience but not at all what we imagined (birth centre, all natural etc! Ha!). My DH was incredible throughout. He is besotted with James and it makes me love DH at an even deeper level just watching him interact with his son.

James has been a dream so far. He has been very kind and forgiving to us as first-time parents. He weighed 7lbs 10oz at birth and when he was weighed yesterday (2.5 weeks old) he was already 9lbs 7oz! He is feeding like a pro and the sleeping isn't toooooo bad, either. I've had rather sore nipples but I think we are managing alright (hoping it is not thrush?!).

Hugs to all. Hope tonight is good for all those desperate for sleep. Will try and catch up on more of the posts later.

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 22:09

that is scary

seem to remember us doing that alot antenatal, obviously didn't lose the psychic connection when we gave birth

Pinions · 12/05/2007 22:13

Ds1 has got really bad hayfever in his eyes would love a miracle cure if anyone knows of any. trying to get eyedrops into him is a joke, impossible and his medicine seems to be wearing off already. off to trawl mn ofr miracle hayfever cures .........

mmsnet surveys to complete for prizes

they take seconds, literally

WaspElly · 13/05/2007 00:14

Still here, honestly! Getting used to being a full time mum to 2 under 2 (Oh, that was very nearly amusing typo of 23 under 2!!!ouch!)

I'm feeling guilty about not having ANY inclination for sex at all, especially as DH is being so lovely about me being scared/disinterested.

I've got a ringsling in that sweetpea fabric too - but darling dearest dotter looks all squished and uncomfortable on a cradle carry (but she says nowt - like the chilled babe she is) Any suggestions/links on any other carries (as have lost instructions!) I could do with finding out before next weekend as she and I are going to the rugby at Twickenham next weekend, and sling is just by far the easiest method of storage/transport!

A great big "Woo Hoo" to having a guaranteed 4 hour gap between feeds, well this one generally! A glass of wine has been HEAVEN this evening!

AngeG /SOKL I've replied by email too - I should be able to find a minder for Cameron on a Friday for an hour or 2, so would love to meet up with you both, and introduce our little girls!

Smole - hugs & thoughts with you hon. wishing you the mental strength you'll probably need, especially when low.

Right, I'm officially knackered again now so will pass out shortly!

octo · 13/05/2007 08:23

I am sure have thrush - can anyone tell me what you were given?? Pinions?? - no reply from out of hours doctor - thought would go to chemist today and get something and go to doctors in morning. Ernie doesn't seem to have it - feeding well and no white stuff in mouth - think the antibiotics he has for eye infection has caused it.

Thanks! Can see why lots of people give up feeding when have thrush!
