Good grief KHIN - if he gets that sorted by 5th June then he is Superman!!

Had a good night last night thanks to DH having ds till 4am, what a star he is. Seems his libido has returned with avengance since I ceased to be pg - I am SO not in the mood.

Hope everyone is OK especially those who haven't posted in a while. Ds is nearly 4 weeks old - time really is flying!!

liath · 12/05/2007 11:50

Good luck for the move, Luce. Must do a Scottish meet once you're settled in.

CaptainDippy · 12/05/2007 11:51

LOL @ your DH, KHIN!! Your garden is actually slightly worse than ours, which makes me actually feeling slightly better ..... No offence mean!! Perhaps hiring a hall or going to a local wood for a nice BBQ is a slightly better idea ...... we're having a "Picnic and Play" for DD2's Birthday next Sat ......

DH has taken DD1 & 3 to Tesco and DD2 is sleeping so I can finally clear my thoughts and get organised for the day ...... feeling a bit "foggy" today, not nice....

Morning ladies - feeling a bit better but concerned may have poisoned ds3 as took some cold & flu tablets - he seems fine - bit sleepy

kneehigh - your photos really cheered me up - maybe dh should invite his mates round and get it sorted - you need someone like DIY SOS to rescue you all!

Hope everyone else is okay - ds1 sat with a finger in ds3 mouth getting him to sleep for me!

Dh gone to play golf and left me feeling poorly with 3 boys so going for trip in car and then the May Fair - hoping for some cake LOL!

octo · 12/05/2007 12:04

and my boob is feeling a bit better - have symptoms of thrush and mastitis so not sure what to do now - no reply from on call doctor - pain is subsiding a bit so maybe the self help things are working - feeding overnight was crippling - but he has fed again just now and not so painful.

Must go

runnyhabbit · 12/05/2007 12:08

KHIN - pmsl laughing at your dh (bless him) and so did dh ...although if he can get it done in time, I will be in complete awe.(and then can you send him round to do ours)

Have started a routine with ds2, and so far (fingers crossed) it seems to be working. Realised that he wasn't reaaly feeding, but using me as comfort, hence only feeding for 5/10mins at a time. So have been perserving with feeding him for longer, which tbh is bloody hard work. But it seems to pay off, and has been feeding every 3 hours for the past 3 days.

The IL visited last night. But was only expecting sil,bil and their dd, who were visiting from London. But the pil, and another sil with her dd joined them. Wasn't a huge problem, but dh only got home 10 mins before they arrived, so we didn't eat until they left, which was about 10pm. Mil started talking about "little Will" etc, and dh said straight away his names not Will, its William. Mil did'nt take any notice of him, until I said, rather loudly "his name is not going to shortened, he is called William, and is not going to be called anything else" Tbh, there was a bit of a silence after I said this, but feel so good for saying it. (Shame I wasn't quick enough to add in about Joshuas name being shortened)

Me and dh have just worked out that his parents have visited us more times in the past month, than in the previous 6 years. And they only live 30 mins away.

Going now, as dh is making bacon sarnies
Have a lovely weekend all
x

runnyhabbit · 12/05/2007 12:11

I take my hat off to any of us organising a party atm.
It was ds1 birthday on 4th May, and we didn't do anything specific for him. On the BH we went for really long walk around the park on his trike, and took great pleasure in shouting at the ducks, and having an icecream

CaptainDippy · 12/05/2007 12:16

No, no runny - your idea was much better .... Party organsing with a newborn is sheer madness .......

Hi octo!! How many tabs did you DS take?? Might be worth getting him checked out ....

Pesha · 12/05/2007 12:16

hi all

havent caught up or even checked emails, sorry.

tmi warning now! need bit of advice. dd had a birthday party at chicago rock last night so i went too with ds2 and had couple glasses wine, got little bit tipsy with dds best friends mum! was standing up most of the time, holding dylan alot. also had my control knickers on and think this could have been the problem. got home and had excruciatingly painful tummy pains, was in tears at one point. still have pains like after pains and back, hip, sides and legs aching. have not had afterpaibns since end of week 1, dylan will be 3 weeks on monday. have been bleeding lots over night when had nearly stopped before although is not bright red, was pale pink is now sort of yellow white. no smell or anything. is this ok or should i ring someone now or wait til monday or what?!

CaptainDippy · 12/05/2007 12:24

I'd give your local emergency doc a wee call sweetie or perhaps phone NHS Direct for a bit of advice ..... I know your blood flow is supposed to suddenly increase about Day 10; but three weeks after seems a little bit of a long time imho. I am sure it is fine and just your body coping with having just had a baby, but always best to be safe than sorry ...... Pains etc are probably just from standing up for a long time etc - you certainly won't be back up to full strength yet .... don't over do it sweetie!

Bugmum · 12/05/2007 12:30

Pesha - My MW said that even with bfing, your PERIODS can return at around 3 weeks!! I bfed DS1 for a year and didn't have a period, but apparently many people do. It could be that.

OTOH, it could also be an infection; I still have the tail end of mine, and will have to go back to the doc next week, and I had a really horrid one for weeks with DS1, so this is very common. Not dangerous, but horrid.

I think I would ring NHS direct; they will probably cover themselves by telling you to get to a doc, but you can often read in between the lines with them. Certainly I wouldn't leave it later than Monday, even if it has cleared up again by then.
xx

CaptainDippy · 12/05/2007 12:32

Oh yeah - I forgot about Periods ....

OP posts:
Bugmum · 12/05/2007 12:33

CD - I know exactly what you mean! When my MW told me about the possibility of them returning while bfing, I was all, 'What do you mean, periods?' as if I could scarcely remember what they were

Bugmum · 12/05/2007 12:40

I am feeling a bit zen today (or trying to) . I know my baby still needs to feed - oooh - pretty much 24/7, and my toddler is still very distressed by the baby crying (though maybe just a tad less [hopeful emoticon]), and that I still need to get my infection totally sorted, and to learn to cope with two kids on my own when DP isn't here (complicated by the crying problem), and that DS is some way off playgroup so I don't get much baby-and-me time, BUT I should remember that I believe in the 'fourth trimester', that everything is a phase, and that we WILL come through this [another hopeful emoticon]

Hope everyone has a good weekend
Ommmmmmm
xx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 12/05/2007 12:52

KHIN, pmsl at your dh's grand pans for the garden! Coud you incorporate an obstacle course as one of the party games?!

We have Becky's party on the 26th at a soft play, but hardly anyone has RSVP'd! There are only 5 kids so far!

Octo, hope you are ok hun. Take it easy.

Pesha, hope you are ok. My bleeding subsided and then came back with a bit of a vengeance, but worth getting checked out.

Runny, good to see you and it sound like things are settling down for you.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 12/05/2007 12:53

Sorry CD and Bugmum, I left you out by mistake.

Bugmum, like your thoughts on the 4th trimester! So true - it is just a phase that will pass!

Need to eat lunch before madam wakes up.

Katy44 · 12/05/2007 14:18

Hi everyone!

LesleyR · 12/05/2007 17:17

Blimey have we all gone and got lives?

Going to do thank you cards for baby gifts if you're all off doing something else

Hope your weekends are going well

runnyhabbit · 12/05/2007 18:35

Pesha - I thought my flow was slowing down, til one day last week, it came back with a vengance! Spoke to mw about it, and told me it was quite normal. She compared to a scab healing over a cut - if you stretch it, the scab will break, therefore the bleeding starts again, and has to heal again iyswim. When I thought about it, my flow increased when I had been doing lots of running around (but not actually running lol) But would def get it double checked to be on safe side.

Bugmum - Know exactly where you're coming from feeling zenlike. But with me, I'm now managing home the same way I manage things at work. And it works!

Sokl - thank you sweetie x I think now I'm as settled as I can be with a newborn and a toddler

Things must be getting to some sort of normality, because I was feeling rather "sexy" earlier , and trying to work out a plan to synchronise ds naps!
Please tell me I'm not the only one with these thoughts..........

Sexonknackeredlegs · 12/05/2007 18:47

Runny, you are another horny minx aren't you!

I know Nutty had been feeling a bit saucy, but don't think that is the case at the moment.

Can't say I have felt the urge so to speak - am going to wait until after the 6 week check tbh just to make sure all is in order !!

Had an ok day today. K been quite mellow, although I am sure it will be pants again later. My parents are coming to lunch tomorrow - really looking forward to seeing them!

Cannot believe how quiet it has been on here. Have you lot got babies to look after or summat!?

Catch you later. xx

bubblez · 12/05/2007 20:42

smole & vio - thoughts are with you both xxxx

NG - pleased that your dp has sat down and listened to you hope that he will do something about it now... Oh and that the docs will get off their arses and actually do something to help you... they are useless sometimes

eddas - pmsl about the swing incident sounds like something id do (good thing i forgot to buy batteries for mine)

runny - i had them sort of 'urges' and 'feelings' from the end of the first week and finally at two and a half weeks dp caved too (he was worried that hed hurt me).... with dd1 we were back to normal 'sex wise' at two weeks too .... i think that if your brain says your ready then your body probably is too

OrganisedChaos · 12/05/2007 20:55

hi all
had a yucky morning but got slowly better as the day went on.

matthew was with his dad overnight so i'd normally sleep in, feed Joe at 9am then start to think about suracing

unfortunately i had to take Joe to visit Justin so was up early. Justin is still an arogant tosser and got right up my nose. he smelt like he'd been out last night, stayed at gf's and not washed this morning. which meant then when he'd held my gorgeous smelling baby, Joe smelt yucky too

he's been bathed now

went to meet Matthew and his daddy at local football today, Andrew (his daddy) plays and i always take matthew to watch. we had fun even tho it was raining on/off.

Andrew has a new car, with a personalised plate

MC** AJC

i called him a ponce AJC are his initials, i asked if he'd looked for a car with those letters or bought the plate, he pointed out that the first 2 letters are my son's initials , Matthew Catterwell (he has Andrew's surname), so yes, he'd bought the plate serperately.

not sure whether i'm pissed off that he's spending money on stupid things or chuffed that he's so proud of matthew he's put his initials on there. Matthew thinks it's great, he's been telling everyone that "daddy's got my name on his car"

to be fair to him, Andrew pays me sensible maintenance, paid off all our debts when we split, works bloody hard, and he's taking matthew away to France for 2 weeks, so should be able to spend money as he chooses. Just feels like i should be annoyed i gess

tonight I have managed to get both boys fed, bathed and asleep by 7.30, then washing done and hung up, me bathed, by 8.30.

then i came on here and it all went to pot

won't be on tomorrow, i'm going up to Stephen's for the day, he's got his children and they haven't met Joe yet, i haven't seen him for 3 weeks so can't wait, we might be 'just friends' but it doesn't stop me missing him

OrganisedChaos · 12/05/2007 20:57

wow, that was long

sorry ladies [blush

feel free to ignore my ramblings

ellenkpa · 12/05/2007 21:00

it's no good, back to my name, too confusing otherwise

have gone for my proper name this time tho

Sexonknackeredlegs · 12/05/2007 21:06

Hi Bubblez, Hi Organised Chaos.

OC, glad your day got better, and you must be well chuffed to have got the boys off to bed - fabulous! Hope you are indulging yourself. I think it is lovely that Andrew has Matthews initials on his reg plate, but that is just my opinion. He must be very proud of Matthew.

Nowt much to report here. Things have been very calm here with K, and I know I shouldn't be pessimistic, but I am sure it is all going to go tits up again - it usually does at about this time of night. Usually I escape to bed and leave dh to deal with it as I then get up for the early hours stint. However, it is my turn this evening as dh is doing the early hours stint.

Must stay calm, must stay calm.
