Bristols! what you like eh?! had your AF yet?....

btw, DS1 never went through a clingy stage. My HV/doc/friends etc all said it was because he was such a secure happy little chap

All is not well in our house, sorry but very and want to just let it out. Feel like I've jst had the worst few months, DS's not well, not doing what they 'should' be doing, losing nan and granpa. I seem to be in constant pain or 'fog' following pain - don't know which is worse. Then tonight, DH's dad rung with news MIL has been told she has dementia. I'm just so bloody fed up of bad news. Please, if any of you pray can you just ask that my niece/nephew arrives safely tonight/tomorrow - SIL is being induced today. Why does life have to throw these things at you all in one go - thank god for a bit of light hearted banter on MN!

..actually do feel slightly better for that. ta. Hope you're all having a better time than us!

bristols · 21/05/2007 21:53

Hey Liquid - had AF three weeks ago. Due another this weekend. Wonder if it'll happen? Am feeling pretty pre-menstrual but also have a sore throat so could be just a bit run down.

So sorry to hear all your bad news. You really have been through it lately. What's going on with your health? Having pain everyday is very debilitating.

Nickiey - I live veeeeeeeery close to you...

bristols · 21/05/2007 21:54

PS, Liquid - thinking of your SIL. I'm sure everything will be fine. It'll be just the good news you all need. and {{lc}}

minniemouse1 · 21/05/2007 22:17

evening ladies

This is kseaj i have name changed.

Liquid sorry to hear your having a bad time of it laterly, life is s* at times.

Welcome nickiey

Bristols glad you got your hat back its so annoying when that happens, i left my chicken at the supermarket the other week, not the same has a hat but still annoying we wanted it for tea that night

Had a busy day of it here today the outside tap broke and flooded all of the outhouses dh has had a crap evening trying to clean it up, although he did have the help of ds1 with his little blue wellies on.
While getting veg ready for tea i heard ds2 scream v.loud i ran into find him on his belly holding his breath hitting his hands and face on the floor, when i got to him he had his foot stuck under the babywalker with ds2 sitting in it. Lots of hugs and kisses were needed to both sons ds2 was crying he did realize what he had done.

Had ds2 weighed today he is 19lb 15oz.

Well so far so good have done 2 posts so far this week.

minniemouse1 · 21/05/2007 22:20

ooops! It is suppose to say ds did not realize what he had done.

nickiey · 22/05/2007 08:48

liquid, hope things improve-how is sil?
Bristols, where are you then???

Im looking forward to hopefully another good day with ds2 napping when he should for as long as he needs (not waking early and being grumpy!) fingers crossed.

Also on the old AF topic have you lot got yours back yet im still a no, am still BF but down to 4 feeds a day now so surly AF cant be far off.

Coriander73 · 22/05/2007 13:01

Liquidclocks, just to say I'm thinking of you - there is no explanation as to why sometimes we are dealt a few bad cards at the same time. Stay as positive as you can & you'll be OK in the end. PLease try not to worry about DS2 - they all develop at such different rates. J had his 8 months check yday & they asked me if he was crawling & rolling etc & I said no. They said, he was behind the average but should catch up soon. He still falls over if I sit him up without a cushion behind him - less so but I still can't be sure he'll not bang his head! Any news on SIL yet?

Bluewater...bugaboo land during the week & rather Chavtastic at weekends now isn't it?! (my boss has a black bugaboo...just so typical, glad I chose not to in the end). My Aunt used to live in Sevenoaks & we used to frequent it quite a bit (that's when we mananged to get out of John Lewis!) I was last there in January to pick up J's imprints. Would like to get back but DH is monitoring me closely with the old spondoolies!! Very very hard having to think that in 2 months I probably wont have an income & have to ask him for money - something I've not ever had to do...! Poor & happy....

Am in the London office today & have never felt so much negativity! Lots of changes following post merger & everyone is obviously worried one way or another. People keep asking why I'm going & if they've paid me off...

Welcome nickey

oppss nickiey! & on the AF front, mine came back when DS was 5 months & I'd reduced BF down to one a day....much envy & respect to all of you still at it (BF not BD!!!!)..

OP posts:
bristols · 22/05/2007 13:28

Cori - I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that I, too have a bugaboo

Maybe that's why I love Bluewater so much, I obviously fit right it

Coriander73 · 22/05/2007 14:26

ooppss bristols....!!! (well, onbviously yes, you do fit right in don't you!!!!!!) Not lime green is it?

OP posts:
compo · 23/05/2007 08:56

sorry, I'm with Cori on the old bugaboo issue
They just look too space age for me!
Nice weather at last - do you remember how we all suffered last summer? God, I spent most of my time on our antenatal thread moaning about how hot I was!!

mabel1973 · 23/05/2007 11:20

Dh been hogging the laptop for work, so not managed to get on.
Liquid - i hope things get better for you.....sometimes these things all happen at once don't they.

I haven't had AF yet, doing 2 BF's and the afternoon feed is formula now. I can't feed DS in public now, not because I feel he's too big, he just won't stay still and the genereal public would get an eyeful of my bazoomas! So much easier with formuala.

this wwk not going too bad so far, DS1 has been on best behaviour. My mum is baby sitting tonight, so i can go to yoga, so she can do bedtime instead!

HenriettaHippo · 23/05/2007 14:24

hello everyone,

LC, so sorry to hear your news. You do seem to be having a hard time. Things can only get better I hope.

DS1's birthday this weekend, so we're all knackered now! Had 15 toddlers in the garden on Sat pm. DS2 HATED it! Screamed from 3-6... And he'd just had 2 1/2 hours nap, so he wasn't tired. Just didn't like all the people in HIS garden! DS1 had a fab time though, and was really in love with his cake. It was lovely. My parents came on Sunday, and we took both DSs to the zoo for the day on Monday, which was great too. DS1 thoroughly spoilt with rides on slides, cake (again!), time in the park, picnic lunch etc. etc. He was shattered that night.

Bristols, I am so tempted by your George Michael tickets. I tried to get some for near here, but failed, and have no-one to look after the children (my mum has them the following weekend as we're going to a wedding, and I can't ask her again!). And Manchester's too far to get an ordinary sitter to come. Bum. I've been a fan since 1982... I missed him on Parky - did he say anything contraversial?

Back to work now...

P.S. Have to agree about the bugaboos - they do look weird!! Mind you, I've got a Phil & Ted's which is probably just as poncey...!!!

bristols · 23/05/2007 14:25

Cori, don't you know anything? Bugaboo doesn't come in lime green. Only apple green. And no, mine isn't green. And I LOVE IT!

Just back from Bluewater with my hat. Its such a beautiful day, far too nice to spend an hour and a half in the car. Still, its done now.

DS has been referred for an Xray on his hip. He doesn't put his right foot to the floor properly when standing and also his creases aren't symmetrical. Just waiting for the appointment. Hopefully everything will be OK.

There are five of DH's friends coming to watch the football tonight. It's going to be very noisy and very hot! I'm going to an exercise class for a bit of peace.

bristols · 23/05/2007 14:31

HH - I know, I'm gutted I can't go. Same reasons as you. I have loved him for what seems like all my life. But prob since about 1982 too. I often point out to DH that I was in love with George before I was in love with him. Usually when he wants to change the CD in the car.

Nothing too controversial on Parky. Admitted to taking a lot of marajuana (sp?). Such a shame he didn't sing.

PS. Leave the bugaboo alone, you lot! I think its a design masterpiece. Although was thinking I might have to get one of those Phil and Ted's if I have another baby next year... Look much easier than a side by side buggy.

Coriander73 · 23/05/2007 15:04

I love GM!!!! I am a closet Wham fan..I still remember how excited I was when I got their "final" album on cassette (!!) & put it into my brand spanking new red Sony walkman at the age of about 11....!!!!

With hindsight I wish we'd bought a Phil & Ted's because the side by side Maclaren is a pain in the perverbial arse! Ah bristols, you enjoy your bugaboo but yep P & T if you have number two (then you could sell your bugaboo on e-bay!!!!!!!)......it's funny thought isn't it second time around just knowing the things that you would & wouldn't have bought first time round if only we'd known...

kreamkrackers · 23/05/2007 15:15

hi everyone.

dd2 is back to being a hard baby crying 80% of the time when she's awake. don't know what it is though, thinking it's either clingeness or her wanting to be mobile. she's been such a hard baby, don't know whether it's because she was so early.

we have so many buggies here. dd1 has a graco stroller (she did have a m&p buggy but the frame broke underneath just after it's 12 month warranty, dd2 has a silvercross pram and we have a m&p double for when i'm taking them both out.

we're moving house next month but looks like there might be delays on it due to electrical faults. the landlord is bringing people here to view the house tonight so i'm not happy. really makes me feel uncomfortable them being here whilst we're still living here. personally i wouldn't want to be viewing a house with people still living there, maybe it's just me though.

bristols - don't worry too much about the creases although it says you should. dd2 was born breech and has extra creases but the xrays came back fine. she still does the frog position as well, her legs go to the side when she's lying down.

nickiey - my af has only recently come back. used to be about every 28 days but the 3 that i've had seem to be between 35 and 40 atm. i'm still feeding 5 times a day most days. she now takes some of a beaker but i find it easier to bf her and i know she enjoys it more most of the time, until she turns her head to look at the tv and bites me! might end up giving up when her top teeth come through although i don't really want to, it just depends how much this will hurt.

lc - hope your sil had a safe delivery.

hope everyone's having a good day.

HenriettaHippo · 23/05/2007 15:34

bristols, maybe you can buy my P&T if you have another baby next year!!! Plan is to sell it on ebay when I no longer need it! We have a much loved Maclaren Techno single buggy, and I'm so glad I bought that for DS1 instead of a trendy buggy (although I'm glad you love your bugaboo Bristols!!).

KK, sorry to hear you're having a hard time. it's so hard when your baby cries alot and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do.

I've never even studied F's creases, and didn't know they were meant to be symmetrical?

HenriettaHippo · 23/05/2007 16:18

Cori, come out of the closet. There is nothing shameful in being a Wham! fan. I had 120+ posters of GM on my wall as a 12 year old, back in 1984... Those were the days, before lewd acts in public toilets, and falling asleep at the wheel after one whacky backy too many...!!! Still remember one poster that proclaimed "Wholseome Handsome And Macho". Ha ha ha ha!!!!

compo · 23/05/2007 18:47

Evening all from another Wham fan! My first single I ever bought was 'Freedom'
I have never studied creases either and don't really play at standing up with dd, maybe I should be?
LC - hope your SIL had a safe delivery.
HH - the party sounds lovely, shame about ds being cranky though. It's so hard having 2 to worry about st things like that isn't it?
I'm going to watch the footie later on my own (we're the opposite way round here - I like it, dh doesn't!).
Hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine.

nickiey · 23/05/2007 19:06

DS had his 8 month check today, all good and fine.
He has rolled once about a month ago but shows no interest in doing it again, he can sit unaided but again shows no interest in that either, all he wants to do is stand up at the window being nosey.

Bristols am v that you got to go to bluewater, i love bluewater-not fair.
I think im somehow out of the loop here, I dont know what a bugaboo looks like (that said I do know what a phil and ted is) so maybe I'd not fit in round bluewater anyway!!

Myrtle1 · 23/05/2007 19:40

Hello all,

we had DS's christening on Sunday and it was a lovely day
At the church he was lapping up all the attention and proceeded to spend the whole service frantically kicking his legs and doing a very loud chattering commentary to all and sundry. At the font he tried to have the Vicar's glasses off and when he put the water on DS's head he started rubbing his eyes like it was time to go to bed. (He has always had a bath before bed since newborn).
The weather was lovely and everyone had a good time then I had a deep sleep like I'd not had for ages - must have been worrying about it all. DS was up at midnight and then 5 am though.
He's waking really early at the moment and sometimes will sleep from 7pm til 5am or sometimes he will wake at 10:30pm for a feed??
Hello to all the new people

minniemouse1 · 23/05/2007 20:52

Hello everyone,

I might sound a bit thick but can someone tell me what you all mine about the creases?
and i do they normal have an 8 month check saw the hv on monday and she did not say anything.

We have just brought a m&p stroller in orange and blue i love it before that we had a m&p pram it was really big and very hard to push.

LC any news on your sil?

KK its so hard having a crying baby ds1 cried for the first 3 months none stop it was very difficult.

minniemouse1 · 23/05/2007 20:53

just read that back and it is suppose to say mean not mine (doh)

teafortwoandtwofortea · 23/05/2007 20:56

Happy news! We have a new baby niece She's called Sophie, no more details than that at the moment as DH accidentally deleted the text from his sister!

Am I a buggy ponce then? - I have a phil and teds and a micralite...
