We have run out of space so thought I would start a new thread.

Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

Hi Girls

Bloss - conversation with H v funny (only in retrospect I?m sure) Bless Toby, he sounds like an angel!

HC - well done re resigning! Glad it wasn?t as bad as you thought - maybe she had sneaked a look at your profile so it didn?t come as too much of a shock And no, Sophie won?t be rejecting you, it?s true that bf is much harder work than the bottle. And if she is not keen on milk anyway as you say, then she isn?t going to be that motivated, so she?s just expressing that in an unsophisticated baby way, it?s not rejection of you. Do I remember you saying sometime back that you don?t like milk? If so that?s interesting as it may be connected?

Pavlov - Good that your boss was sympathetic. Does sound like an antibiotics job, hope you can knock it on the head soon.

Lysettes - Good luck with the house stuff. Emma has sussed out the backwards crawling thing (finally) though it?s more of an accidental backwards displacement than a crawl, particularly tragic when she is trying to reach something in front of her, bless. Re naps, she usually has two longish naps per day (1-2 hrs) when at home, or two shortish (½ hour) naps when at nursery. A lot depends on how boring her world is that day, the more boring, the more she sleeps!

Kayzed - yes 9 teeth! Bless her waving at everyone, aaaw. Emma waved at Paul O?Grady the other day

Annie - your job does sound fab, your description reminded me of my zoology uni days (they were about 3 million years ago tho?)! Bless Kayley re your welcome home, sounds lovely. Emma does excited bouncing when I get home from work, waving both hands [melt]

Impy - glad you had a good weekend, it?s great when they have lovely times with their grandparents isn?t it.

Kbaby - lol re your DD?s observation of your drinking habits, I?m sure it?s going to be one of the first thing Emma starts commenting on with us Hope DS is feeling better soon.

Hi to everybody else, sorry I?m a bit behind with all the posts.

Emma too is very chatty but doesn?t say mama. She still says dada plenty though, traitor (and yes HC I?m sure she doesn?t know what it means )

She is very very funny, and I love her dearly, but has recently developed what I can only describe as a ?displeased screech? which is driving me bananas. She does it when things aren?t happening quite as quickly as she thinks they might (especially food/drink preparation), or if people?s attention seems to be drifting towards activities which aren?t centred around her? she has honed it to maximum nails down blackboard stylee and I don?t know what?s best to do, grrr. I have tried telling her off in reasonable Mummy tones ?NO thank you to that horrible noise?, ignoring it, shouting at her ?OI! NO!!? but whatever I do makes me feel bad and doesn?t stop it. DH says she?ll grow out of it but I?m worried that this is just a glimpse of what is to come .

Right I?m going to post this now before I?m even further behind Have good nights all

prettymum · 24/04/2007 22:12

pavlov- definately sounds like you got infrcted tonsilitis, the last time i had it, it was just like how you described yours and i was put on antibiotics!!

bloss- aahhh 2 yr olds, arent they a pleasure!!

kz- how many teeth?? roshi will have the full set by the time she turns 1!!

annie & lysettes- mama!! well done kayley &jacob!! i keep telling junior to say mummy, but no not interested!

kbaby- lol at your dd, its amazing how they pick up on these thing!! hope ds gets well soon!! has he got any teeth yet?

impy- go to india girl!! you deserve a week away from being a mummy

jeanie- at xdps girlfriend!! just not the a very convinient thing to do!

junior now tries to sing a long to songs when we sing to him( him in his baby language) and is learning to respond to things we tell him to do. if he's crawling about in another room, i'll shout to him 'junior come here please' and he'll be there in a shot and he'll clap when we tell him to.

dps is assistant manager in a sports shop and the manager is trying all he can to get him fired!! a female colleague came upto dp and told him that the manager tried to get her to say that dp was touching her and making a move on her!! and when dp was on sick leave he wrote to the head office trying to say that dp wasnt going to come back to work which dp was not intending to do!! ds really shocked as he has helped this man out a lot the last few months!!

prettymum · 24/04/2007 22:13

oops meant dp was very shocked!

Twinklemegan · 24/04/2007 23:20

Pavlov love, I do hope you feel better soon. It sounds horrible.

Lysettes ? Aidan?s started a little backward crawling as well to complement the commando operations.

Aidan?s said mama or mumum a few times now, always when he?s looking at me. Somehow though I think it?s just general babble ? he doesn?t say much else yet. Otherwise his sounds are very much like you describe Kbaby. I realised today though that he understands ?ball?. I don?t know why I?m surprised really, he?s a little human being after all, but it just all seems so amazing.

I think I?m feeling better ? I was back at work today. But I haven?t much of an appetite and I feel a bit funny after my bedtime cup of tea. I?m praying I?m not in for round two.

Sorry everyone I?ve missed out. I hope it all evens out in the end.

Pretty, that is awful!!

Pavlov, feeling better? Stay in and be good to yourself! LOTS of chocolate

I had my phone nicked yesterday by a gang of b*tches. I was sitting with a friend and Sefton in Russel Square and these 4 woman came and "circled" us, and one was pointing at something in a paper and pretending to ask us where something was, in a foreign language. We both knew they were trying to scam us, so said "don't know, sorry" over and over, but they pretended they didn't understand. We were trying to keep them all in our vision as well as gather our belongings but the one asking was getting louder and more insistant, and I was trying to keep my eye on Sefton who was crawling around. It must have gone on for 5 minutes!! Then after they had gone I realised my phone was gone loads of photos from my holiday in SA that I hadn't downloaded yet, so upset. I hope karma gets them.

Besides that Sefton is sick, but the plus side is he slept better last night poor boy.

He has been saying "mama" and "mammmeeeeee" for a while now. Also says "Babababa" and "Dadadada". When he likes something he says "Goo" but it sounds a bit like "cool"! Crawling so fast it is hard to keep up with him, pulling himself up and scooting onthe furtniture etc.. He LOVES climbing, I found him hanging from the underside of the dining table the other day

Beadmum · 25/04/2007 10:25

morning ladies

im so behind on this thread again.
sleep - thats awful, for you. Those people know what theyre doing, i remember years ago when i was in milan with my mum and we were in a cafe, 2 guys came over and dropped a phone card, we looked down and once theyed gone we noticed my mums bag was gone (she had all her money in her bag), was complete nightmare. felt so angry. Hope sefton is better soon

pretty - thats really shocking, your poor dp. is there someone he could report this too, his manager surely cant get away with this. junior is so clever, how sweet of him to come when you ask him, wonder how long that will last

twinkle - hope you are better

first - charlotte is also quite vocal to get attention and is very shouty when she is not fed quick enough, etc

pavlov - get to docs, hope you bettter soon

better go, dd has woke up. hope all other poorly mums and babies are feeling better.

have a good day everyone xx

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 13:06

lots of posts! I shall respond to those I remember, sorry if I missed anyone out, I am unwell you know .

Talking of which. I feel 10 x better today. Although throat is still swollen with a few white bits and glands up. No Drs appt until tomoro. Boss said to take rest of week off and return when I well enough. Really sweet actually . I have had tonsilitis when I was little, but I remember it being much more painful than it is now. It is not really painful like sore, but more swollen hard to swallow painful? iykwim

DD is at nursery, cried her eyes out when DP took her, however when I called 2 see how she was, I could hear her laughing in the background. ANd when I went in to BF, she did not even notice I was there straight away , which I was a bit upset by!

HC - I know how you feel about the bf, I am worried about losing the bond, but I do not think it actually happens. Stopping BF is natural for all babies/toddlers at some point and many babies choose this themselves and it is a positive sign that your LO is able to chose to do this herself, I think it is harder if you have to do it, when she is like 2 or so. I agree to that it is not a sign of no bond that she pushes you away, she is just asserting herself so you understand her. I think its a sign of a clever child, as she knows how to show you what she wants/does not want and you get it.

Lysettes - your LO sounds woderful talking to himself. DD this morning managed to reach her monitor from her clothes chest and was playing with it happily, talking to it (laughing at it), DP took it off her and brought her into bed with us, but she would have been happy in cot for a while playing with it if we let her!!

Naps - yes, DD has changed her napping routine. used to be 7am wake. 10:30am 30min nap, 2:30pm 30 min nap, sometimes 4:30pm 30 min nap. Now its 10:30am 1-2 hour nap. 4-5pm 30mins - 1 hour nap! more sleeping, not less!

KZ - 9 teeth - WOW, where are they?! how many top how many bottom? DD has two on bottom and four front ones on top, last two just coming through. It does not appear that there are any other teeth there at all now! Well, maybe space for another two on top...

Kbaby - LO makes the same noises! alas no sounds of mama or dada but still, vocal all the same, and I recognise that schreeching sound too, DD makes it when toys re taken away, when she is not fed quick enough, if we are ignoring her!

French - your LO sounds sweet being able to have a conversation!!! DD not there yet, but does recognise things, like I say you want a cuddle and put arms out to her and she puts arms up now! and she claps on demand too, waves at everything like if we are walking down the road, she waves at everyone coming towards us and turns as they walk passed, esp if they dont wave, like 'how dare you ignore me!'

She also lurves to be swung around by her arms, she laughs hysterically when we do this, absolutely squeals in delight.

Wow a long mail, but I got the time today!

IamBlossom · 25/04/2007 14:02

jesus Sleep that sounds terrifying!! Poor you! God that makes me mad. They really know what they are doing eh?

KBaby - I hate my voice. I am the only one who operates the video camera in our housae so will have about 20 years worth of footage with my nasal tones over the top, not sure if that is worse than actually seeing myself on film which I also hate...

F@F - your posts crack me up. Condolences on the nails-on-board screech, sounds fab!

Whisper it......but.....I have managed to get both boys asleep at lunchtime at the same time for the last three days.....bliss.....

Bloss

xx

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 14:38

Blos - well done!
F@F - sorry I meant to say, HOW AWFUL for you to be bullied and have your phone taken. Have you reported it to the police? and with your LO with you too. SOme people's behaviour is dispicable

prettymum · 25/04/2007 14:48

first- omg!! that is so s*!! for you!!

bloss- hope you enjoyed another peaceful afternoon! just managed to get junior iff to sleep, dd just trying to decide wether shes tired or not.

pav- glad you feel slightly better

i think dp is going to write a letter of complain regarding the situation with his manager, he has his colleague there to confirm it all. she was telling dp how the manager spent nearly half an hour trying to get her to say something bad about dp and she was feeling really uncomfortable. its just so crap that people can be so coniving!

better go dd looking for some attention

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 14:51

pretty - you know, I reckon, if your DP left, he could claim constructive dismissal you know, on grounds of bullying behaviour. However, thats a hassle and can be long winded. Even so, it is illegal for any member of staff to behave in such a way and he should definitely put it in writing and make a formal complaint. It is awful behaviour. Your poor DP, he must feel really upset/angry about it

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 14:55

Isn't it just wonderrful that all our babies are starting to interact so well with us?!
I read these posts and it just makes me feel all squidgy! Its good to know that she is developing fine as well, a little advanced in some areas, not quite advanced in other areas, just like all the little ones here.

My DD is 10 months on 1st May, one of the oldest babies, any others on this date?

SleepIsForTheWeak · 25/04/2007 14:59

We are just after you - on the 5th

prettymum · 25/04/2007 15:00

oops meant sleepisfortheweak not first@forty re the phone!

pav- not too sure what dp is going to do yet, i think he's trying to get more information and then take it from there.

twinkle- hope you recover soon

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 15:07

SIFLW - I meant you too!!! hehehe wonder why both me and MUM got it wrong?!!

Beadmum · 25/04/2007 15:21

kbaby - have tried your tip too for stain removal, was amazed, brilliant!!

lysettes - charlotte only has 2 naps a day sometimes 1. she wakes at 7-7.30 has a 30-40 min nap 9.30ish then may go down for another at 2.30ish for 30-40 min again, if we are out she will try her hardest to stay awake and will only fall asleep in her buggy if she cant keep her eyes open any longer (very nosey )

hc - glad everything went well with your manager, i have to hand my notice in soon. got a letter from work this morning re pay rise, got biggest pay rise in 5 years this year and i will get no benefit as on unpaid mat leave just now and not going back. oh well get to stay at home with my gorgeous daughter so its worth it

PavlovtheCat · 25/04/2007 15:33

Bead - I got a relatively good payrise this year too...and I am reducing my hours! LOL.
oh, I so wish I could afford to stay at home a little longer with DD.

AnnieOleTing · 25/04/2007 16:04

Afternoon Ladies.

Pav, glad you're feeling better.
Pretty, at your DP's treatment at work. It must be illegal, no?
Sleep, and at your experience. B8trds.

BLoss you are a supermum! LOL at you hating your voice on the video, me too, I always sound really childish and nasal as well.
I'm glad you find my tedious, aching, RSI inducing job funny by the way (can't complain really though!) I saw a load of sperm swimming off today when I pulled the plug on one of them. LOL at your H story too, sounds familiar!!! Your boys are so fab!
First where did you study zoology? was it a full degree or just a few modules?
I did a few modules for a few years, and I loved it too. I used to come home and 'fascinate' all my housemates with amazing facts about animal penises, (or peni?), like that kangaroos have a bifid penis (divides in two at the tip)and snakes have two! Or was that the other way around? Can't remember...
Oh and I can also sympathize with the screeching! Kayley does it too, especially when DS approaches her, even if it's just for a kiss, as she has come to expect to be slapped or sat on. She's such a drama queen though, it rarely happens anymore, but still we get the screeching!

Right I best finish off. Them mozzies won't dissect themselves. And can you blame them...

Have a good evening everybody

Annie

IamBlossom · 25/04/2007 19:32

Annie you are barking. xx

Really good day today.

Dh goes away this weekend (Butlins at Bognor Regis FFS...friend's birthday) he is dreading it. Two days of drinking, he cannot handle it anymore...I've booked all sorts of activies for me and the boys...

Pretty that is shocking, god, the nerve of some people!!

Reading the paper at M&Ds today - article about some gorgeous chav family, 4 women of the same family, (Mum and 3 daughters) who have 13 kids betwen them, no men in evidence...anyway, they were in court because they had made a video of two of their children fighting like a cock fight (a two year old boy and a three year old girl) as they goaded them, and forced them to attack each other, and hit each other with hairbrushes etc, shouting "wimp" and "faggot" ....made me feel sick. DH says I bury my head in the sand about stuff that goes on in this world, but if I didn't sometimes I really don't think I'd ever stop crying, YKWIM???

ImpyChica · 25/04/2007 20:03

Loving your work tales Annie! Beats dissecting Wills and Kates' relationship

Bloss - H sounds hilarious! What a monkey....

Second what everyone said about bonding, HC. You're a wonderful mum and your LOs love you to bits. The pushing away thing is just a basic form of communication. Hope you enjoy the massage class - might be a way of meeting other peeps at least....

Lysettes - Ry's naps are all over the place. Lucky if I get 30 minutes in his pushchair on the way back from nursery at 2..... Then he's usually on the go until bedtime at 7.

Can't believe Roshi has 9 teeth KZ!!! That's amazing! Sounds like you have a lovely time with your two - impressed that you still carry R around in a sling. I had to give up with the baby carrier months ago - Ryan is too big a lump!

F@F - bizarre - Ryan just started that screeching noise today!!! I thought my ears were going to start bleeding. What is that about??? I thought he was ill/in pain - hoping it's not going to be a standard thing! He's been a bit strange the past couple of days - maybe a reaction to his last vaccination on Mon....

Pretty - that is completely outrageous about your DP's work!!! The manager needs to be reported. Hope he gets fired and your DP takes over the manager position! Junior sounds really advanced - are you sure you're on the right thread and Junior's not actually 2 years old????!!!!

Sleep - you poor thing!! That's so awful. I had a similar thing happen here in Madrid and a friend's bag was nicked while we were being distracted. Plus this last weekend my Mum's wallet was stolen on the Metro when they were travelling from the airport - seems like there's a huge crime wave everywhere at the moment. I'm always conscious that I'm an easy target when I'm out with Ryan - as he's obviously my main priority and I can't keep an eye on my bag at the same time. So many sh*theads out there....

Ryan is now properly crawling and I'm now in a panic about how many loose wires/heavy objects/small things he can swallow that we have lying around! Ahhhhh! He's also mastered his xylophone and generally loves any kind of music - I love watching him wiggle away to songs!

CeeBee - got the wine out, bit of Madonna on the stereo - the party kicks off here! Would you like a pineapple and cheese stick or some prawn voluvents?

Ceebee74 · 25/04/2007 20:06

Impy - just popped on but will have pineapple on a stick please and a glass of warm wine - ooh our very own virtual birthday party.

Did you have a good one? Sorry I didn't wish you happy birthday on the day but I have been at my parents since Monday and I couldn't get onto the Internet.

(Hi everyone else - will catch up asap) x

ImpyChica · 25/04/2007 20:20

It was nice thanks CeeBee - my big night out on Saturday felt more like my b-day than yesterday. Hope you have a wonderful time on Friday. Will you go to the zoo? Hope the weather's ok! Impy x

prettymum · 25/04/2007 20:49

oh impy chica happy late birthday!! i'll have a glass of wine please, just finished tidying up so deserve a break(but my ironing load is really huge, i hate ironing!!}
