Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

took about a week before i felt top notch again, but it was really strange - just woke up one morning feeling 100 times better that the previous night!

hopefully jacob will want to do that, it does look really cool! although i think they are going to try and get them just happy being on their own in the water after the end of the term. will report back in tomorrow afterwards!

i have also found out that with the annabel karmel ice cube trays, each cube is approx 55g, if anyone is interested. Jacob is now eating so much more - about 140g in each meal, plus juice at lunch and milk as usual. No wonder he's piling on the weight!

AnnieOleTing · 24/04/2007 16:14

Hello Ladies!

Hope those of you who aren't well, Pavlov, Twinkle, French, are feeling better, or at least on the mend.

Just a quickie to say I just saw Professor Lord Robert Winston downstairs when I was getting my coffee. Must be giving some kind of seminar... I was going to go over and say hello, but they were all mature men in suits so I didn't... me in my converse and stripey top...

Oh and another fascinating thing to mention, I just spent the afternoon dissecting post-copulation mucous plugs from female mosquitoes!

Nothing to do with anything we talk about on this thread thought. Sorry bout that!

Impy, it would be hard to leave Ryan, but when would you get a chance like this again? I'd personally love to go to India, and it's only for a week. Go on!!!

Jeanie at your XP and his gf, though it does sound like it's that B*h's doing. Hope they can sort it out for you.

Better go girls, have a good evening

Annie

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 16:56

oh Lord Prof Robert Winston!!! You should have said hi to him!!!

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 16:58

ok, so, large ish white spots on back of throat {tmi, sorry}, is that tonsilitis? I still feel awful, mainly the skin crawling, sore to touch and achey muscles...oh dear I thought I would justs be off work for a day, looks like it might be all week...

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 16:59

Can I just say though, that having a baby makes being poorly with a broken fridge sooooo much eaier to deal with

Lysettes · 24/04/2007 17:05

pavlov get thee to the doctor sounds like it's a combination of bugs (in my esteemed medical opinion ) and you may need antibiotics!

jacob has learnt rararararararara and mamamamamamama and is chanting them over and over again today, along with variations of them!

i think we officially have a little crawling, backwards though. he definitely lifted himself off his thighs onto his knees while having his body lifted up off the floor at the same time. only for a few seconds though but it's a breakthrough!

AnnieOleTing · 24/04/2007 17:11

Pavlov, it sounds like you have some kind of infection, you might need antibiotics, try and get to the doctors if you can.

Lysettes, Jacob sounds so cute!!

Yesterday when I got home from work, DS was asleep (so I didn't get the usual running down the hallway greeting), and DH and Kayley were playing rolling the ball to each other. When she saw me come in, she came crawling really fast with a big smile and 'mama'!! Soooooooooo sweet!

And when there's an airplane in the sky (a big deal when DS is around!), she looks up and points and goes 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh'.
Dunno how she picked that up!

Anyway, I'm off home now. If I see Robert again, I'll go over and say hello... now where's my vodka...

Have a good evening everyone

Annie

AnnieOleTing · 24/04/2007 17:12

Oh lysettes, you said what I said, sorry! See Pav, we must be right.

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 17:33

Annie - my friend has taught her LO aged 4 now to say 'look mummy there's an airplane up in the sky' when he sees a plane!!!
Your DD sounds v cute I have to say

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 17:35

DD is very very vocal, but made no real progression with mama and dada, she mainly squeals, laughs hysterically and makes uhuhuhuh noises or african tongues noises! I want her to say 'mama'!!

MaeWest · 24/04/2007 18:09

DS has just started with the mamama, altho not on demand. Tried to get him to say it for his dad just now and all he would say was dadadad - cheeky blighter .

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 18:27

that is cheaky as Mae!!
DD just seems much more interested in doing this odd inhaling type laugh!!! and saying ba, to the cats...!

IamBlossom · 24/04/2007 19:09

Annie - so funny thinking of you dissecting mossies in your converse.

Pav - u is ill. Get thee to a doctor.

Impy - go on, GO TO INDIA! Dare you.....

My teeth hurt. Still same one plus another on the other side now. FFS. Fricking dentist is going to think I am love with him at this rate....

Toby is divine divine divien. Smiles ALL the time, cheeky belly laughs, has a tan, DESPERATELY trying to crawl, and can scoot backwards and gets stuck against walls etc, with his legs backed up them before calling for assistance. I think he might be the cutest baby I know.

H is by turns delightful, polite, helpful, affectionate and then a downright NIGHTMARE. 2 years olds.

Eg conversation -

ME - H it's teatime, telly off and come and sit at the table please.

H - No thanks Mum.

Me - H it's not a request. Come on.

H - No thanks, I don't think so.

Me - Right. [turns telly off] Time to eat, or time for bed, your choice.

H - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I WANNA WATCH XXXX MUUUUUUUMMM [hysterical crying falls on floor ebatig it with hands and feet]

2 mins of this.

Me - Ready now?

H - Yes please Mum, thanks, can I have sauce? Mmmmm tasty. [big smile, kisses all round]

Exhausting.

Good day today though.

Hope all ill ones get better very soon......

Bloss

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 19:15

Blos - LOL at your DS! I cant wait for that time in DDs life! er, I am sending her to china to live with her grandparents in law, they will whip her into shape...!

PavlovtheCat · 24/04/2007 19:17

I will go to Dr tomorrow, Manager at work told me to do the same, she said I sounded rough! Nice and subtle eh? Least it means she did not think I was pulling a fast one - why do I always think they suspect me of lying when I am not? From chidlhood I expect, when children are always trying to get out of PE, or I did anyway!!

HumphreysCorner · 24/04/2007 19:31

Evening ladies

Had another good day of decorating.

Sophie has her top 2 teeth coming through-wondered why she was dribbling. She keeps saying baba, gaga and DH keeps answering 'yes, dada is here'. Grrrrhhh!!!!-she is not saying dada.

DD1 has a bad cough and cold and slept badly last night. Fell out of bed twice-bless.

The HV phoned this morning to see how I was getting on with the expressing so explained that as Sophie is refusing feeds and my milk had clearly dried up I had put her on SMA Progress. Trouble is, she only drinks about 3oz of that a day as she is just not interested in milk. If/when I have another baby I shall make sure I express if the baby slows down with feeding and keep some stocks in the freezer. When she said 'how do you feel' about her not BF anymore I made the mistake of saying that I was worried about losing the bond as she now pushes me away alot. So she asked how I did bond and I couldn't answer so she is sending me leaflets on baby massage. She was running a class on it today but unfortunately I couldn't attend due to decorating commitments.

Lysettes-bikini? I take Sophie to swim class in my maternity cossie.

french-pleased you are a tad better.

Pavlov-have you ever had tonsilitis? Ever so nasty as your throat closes up so you can't swallow. Does make you feel fluey too. So tootle off to the Drs pronto as you will need antibiotics to clear it up properly.

Annie-I think Prof Winston is fabulous. I would be totally starstruck if I saw him.

Jeanie-what a bitchy thing that exP's girlfriend did. Good that you managed to get hold of him-hope your money comes through pronto as Banks don't seem to be v. understanding lately.

Impy-everytime I read your posts I float off to Fuengirola and Benalmadena in my dreams.

Going to enjoy another glass of vino before I have my tea.

Byee for now and hugs to all.

HC did i post last thursday that i hd lost another pound? 11st 7 on the dot now. still not looking great but i don't own a swimsuit - was soooooo huge when pg with the pre eclampsia swelling that i refused point blank to get into anything like that so have to make do with my pre preg ones!

jacob went through that odd inhaling laughing stage on and off till last week and has just started babbling a lot to himself - it is so cute as he's so talkative to himself, his curious george and his ted bears!

we definitely had some more proper movement this afternoon. i left him for a few mins in the lounge and he had moved about four feet and was facing the other way! looking very pleased with himself!

are anyone else's lo's starting to cut out a nap? previously he'd be up at 7ish and nap two hours after waking - so up at 7, meant nap at 9. he's now going for around 3 hours before napping then only having a nap of around 30 mins. then lunchtime nap is longer - around 1 hour, and he's trying to cut out the mid / late afternoon one, but it means dinner at 530-6 and sleep by 7ish. any ideas on what to do or does this sound ok?

HumphreysCorner · 24/04/2007 20:59

Sophie only has 2 naps a day. One about 10 until 11am ish then another either 1 until 3pm or 1-30 until 3-30pm. DD1 only ever had a morning and afternoon snooze. Your routine sounds fine.

Well done on your weight loss. Keep it up!

Bloss - H sounds hilarious! DD2 was just the same, it's knackering. Not looking forward to that stage with T...

HC - sympathies for the BF problems. It's such an emotive thing, poor you. Remember it's not you she's rejecting, it's the sheer hard work of b/feeding, compared to the easy option of the bottle. Baby massage is a great idea, I hope you can go sometime.

Pavlov - sounds like you're really properly ill! Hope the doc gives you a sick note and the drugs you need

frenchleave · 24/04/2007 21:18

Annie - Prof Winston indeed! I'm glued to Child of our Time because I've got a year 2000 baby (well, late 1999) too.

Lysettes - dropping a nap sounds normal to me. T still needs to sleep a couple of hours after waking for up to 2 hours and again in the afternoon for 1.5 hours but he used to have an early evening nap too (he doesn't go to bed until 8.30 ish) and he doesn't need that one any more. If he's happy when awake and sleeping well at night then I would go with it.

T has been saying dadada for aaaages now but still won't say mamama either. 'Snot fair. It's cute though, we can start a conversation with him by saying "Thomas, dadada?" and he replies "dada". This can go on for, ooh, minutes He understands lots of things too and will clap to order most of the time. He's such a smiley, happy, gorgeous bundle of chubbiness I can hardly believe how upset I was when I found out I was pregnant! No regrets now, not one

frenchleave · 24/04/2007 21:22

KZ - 9 teeth Bless her, flirting and waving at everyone. I love this stage, when they do something new and heart-meltingly lovely almost every day.

Yeah! Im glad it worked. I currently have DD?s white t shirt with Bolognese sauce on the line.

DS is not feeling too good this week. He does have a cold but I think he may be teething. He has a temp and is just off his food and very grumpy and clingy. Hes currently dosed up with calpol and in bed. I?m of all your happy smiley babies as even when DS isn?t ill hes a very serious little chappie, only DD gets his biggest smiles.

Impy- thanks for the link but a bit too quiet for me, Im looking for something that will keep DD entertained long enough for me to lay in the sun ie childrens activity run club. We fancied salou but they only do 2am flights and I cant cope with that and keeping 2 DC happy so im looking at other resorts in spain/ balerics. Anyone suggest any?.

Ds is still not saying much either. He says dadadad but just in general and a uhhing noise when he wants something other than that he blows raspberries, clicks his tongue or shouts ah when hes excited.

Blos- sounds just like our house and then I think why was I just mad with her as shes gorgeous. BTW I thought you sounded very posh on your video.
DD asked me tonight where Daddy was and I said ?hes gone out with his friends? she replied ?is he drinking beer, you don?t drink beer you have wine? how does she know that!!!!
