Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

twinkle, hope your next test is better, i think i should make an appointment for mine, cant remember wen i had it last!

as you can see im not drunk, couldnt be bothered to get wasted so we all just had a nice long chat which was nice. now i just need to get dp to bed...

IamBlossom · 20/04/2007 08:24

Twink, you poor thing, as KZ said, well done for getting in there in the first place!

HC - line em up. Would be more than happy for my DSs to get to know your two beauties better!

Madness - did you go to your friends' house then? Or did they just get the pox anyway??

HC - I need to sell DH's snowboard, bought at great expense and used once before i then got preggers. Will turn to ebay methinks, DH won't even notice it's gone....

KZ - lol at your brother checking your veins. I do think this South African dentist is a bit shite, but feel like it must be me, and am trying not to make a fuss, but they ain't going to drill me when I can still feel it FGS!! And yes I am "strawberry blonde", how funny if that is true that we are more susceptible to pain....I prefer that explnantion to me just being a total wimp.....

Picnic in the woods today with friends, hope the weather stays dry. I have been told it's going to snow next week. WTF?

Have good days all.

Bloss

xx

PS, went against my own judgement and applied Johnson's holiday Skin lotion to my legs - I don't really do fake tan because it always looks streaky, but thought this might be ok. Guess what? Now have streaky legs, not a good look.....will stick to pale and interesting from now on....

frenchleave · 20/04/2007 09:34

Morning all

Twinkle - sorry you had such a rough time at the docs. Hope it's sorted soon and you can relax.

KZ - my DH loves veins too, he starts drooling when he sees a nice fat one. You're a brave soul at the dentist, good for you. I'm a total wimp, which is rubbish because DD1 has needed various things done lately and I have to pretend it's all fine and I'm not trembling inside on her behalf. I hate it, hate it.

Bloss - picnic sounds lovely - have a good time. I just did the fake tan thing too - we're at a wedding tomorrow and it's supposed to be 22 degrees so I thought I muight give my legs an outing, but the inspection wasn't good so I'm hoping the fake stuff helps. Haven't de-haired yet though so I can't tell what it's like. Might have to wear trousers anyway. In fact I have no idea what I'm going to wear, had a massive clear-out before we moved house and now have nothing left. Oooh I can hear the shops calling me now...

Have a good day everyone.

soph28 · 20/04/2007 09:54

hi everyone!

I love all the pics and wee videos- they are all so cute. Am going to try it too!

Am of all the good weather, the last few days here have been (relatively) freezing- only 8C! Please come back sun! I had just started to get a bit of colour last weekend and now it's gone.

Twinkle- that sounds rough, I hope it's much better next time. I have to book one- I keep getting letters from the Dr reminding me that it's overdue, should really just get it over and done with I suppose- will be fun with Toby there saying, 'What's happening, Mummy?' lol.

Annie and Frenchleave- Chloe was 9 months on the 18th too. She is sitting well but nothing else. If I support her in a hands and knees position she wants to move but her legs just splay out to the side! She is eating really wll now but only jars and packets- she turns her nose up at everything I make and it really is not that bad, in fact it's much nicer than jars but at least she's eating!

xx

Limoncella · 20/04/2007 09:54

Humphreycorner...am a relative newbie

Iamblossom...I have pretty much the same days...especially yesterday when DS would NOT have a nap, despite whinging with tiredness for 3 hrs

MaeWest · 20/04/2007 09:55

Morning all Loving the weather, have been picnicking in the park and out in the garden loads, DS sitting in the shade of the washing line pulling his hat off constantly.

Twink - my last but one smear test was really awful, then the nurse had me freaked out that I had clamydia (eh?!) but was just a bad case of thrush. She then buggered up and didn't label my sample so I got called back again. Took me a whole year to pluck up the courage. Also, having a vaginal exam was one of the worst bits of my labour, one of the only times I really howled I think. Hope things get sorted out for you {{hugs}}.

Sposed to be going out with my NCT group for girls night out tonight. Think DH is a bit freaked that DS will wake up and he won't be able to settle him down again, the boy has been going through a major period of 'only mummy (& her boob) will do'. I've been busy with the breastpump for the last 24 hrs (takes ages to express now) but don't think DS is really hungry when he wakes up, just in need of comfort. He hasn't had a bottle for months either. Oh well, DH won't be able to call for help as my mobile got terminally baby slimed earlier in the week and now won't charge up... [snigger]

Beadmum · 20/04/2007 10:31

madness - hope dd is over chickpox soon

hc- good for you getting on with the decorating, well if dh is never getting round to it, what are you supposed to do disnt know it was 10p listing day, oh well missed it now, loads to put on too.

bloss - poor you at the dentist, i was supposed to go yesterday but couldnt as dh was away with work and noone to look after dd, going in couple of weeks on his next day off. great pics of your boys as always
im v.pale but fake tan and i do NOT mix, got it done at salon as trial few weeks before my wedding, had a bad reaction, came out all blotchy and had to take antihistamines. Luckily it cleared up in couple of weeks so i decided to be a pale bride rather than a blotchy one

kz - wow, well done to roshi sitting so well at the hairdressers

french - enjoy the wedding, hope you find something to wear in time

soph - gosh, where are you - 8C? we had bit of rain yesterday but then was lovely and sunny in afternoon again. v.dull today though

twink - so sorry your smear didnt go well, hope next one goes ok ((((hugs))))

pretty - glad you had good day and night, are you feeling all refreshed now?

maewest - enjoy your night out tonight!!

well, ive decided to only give charlotte finger foods at lunchtime from now on. she eats breakfast and tea well but just blows raspberries with her lunch and its stressing me too much (she just laughs when i tell her no) so thought this would make for calmer lunchtimes. Its food she eats well at teatime so she must like it, not sure if maybe shes not hungry enough for it though. going to give her either sandwiches and might make little burgers, patties (been checking out the weaning threads) would like to try eggy bread but havent tried dd with eggs yet, has anyone else?

better get off and do some cleaning i suppose, dd be awake soon.

have a good day ladies and babies xx

AnnieOleTing · 20/04/2007 12:26

Hello Ladies.

Just a quickie. Hope poorly people are feeling better.

Kayley got another tooth, this time on the top, and I think they're another one coming too. So none for nine months, and then all at once, just like a London bus (though thankfully I've never had to wait nine months for a bus...)

Happy 9 month birthday to Chloe for Wed, Soph, and to Junior, Pretty for yesterday!!
Anyone today???

I have some friends over from Ireland, and the decking still isn't done, so I'm off home to supervise!!!

HAve a great weekend everyone

Annie

PS BLoss, I'm like you with the pale and interesting, but I've been using holiday skin too, and after a shower and a second application it's usually ok. Saying that, I've just noticed a big streak on my arm now... oh well

prettymum · 20/04/2007 15:25

oh i just wrote a nice long message and i pressed something and now its all gone!! will catch up again later!

kids still not home yet

JeanieG · 20/04/2007 22:54

Hi all,

Not much to report here really, so just wanted to say hello and will catch up properly tomorrow.

Going to see a fortune teller type person tomorrow so will see what happens!!

Also, does anyone like Burger King? I have a downloadable leaflets for free burgers if anyone wants them emailing over. Probably very sad of me I know but I like to share.

Lots of love

Jeanie
xx

Twinklemegan · 20/04/2007 22:56

Hello everyone, just a quicky. Thanks for your kind responses to my moaning. Aidan has been throwing up bigtime for the last 24 hours - I think he's picked up a tummy bug from nursery. We ended up having him in bed with us last night cos I had to keep diving out of bed to rescue him when I heard him retching in his cot. Poor love.

How are everyone else's poorly babes?

prettymum · 20/04/2007 23:00

twinkle- oh no, hope things settle down soon!

jeanie, can you email me the vouchers please, love burger kings and can probably get it for lunch at wrk!

prettymum · 20/04/2007 23:00

my email shanz172000 at yahoo dot com

agalch · 21/04/2007 07:53

Morning girls

Twinkle(((hugs))) nothing worse than puking, have a hard time dealing with vomit so much sympathy and hope he's better soon.

Feel like i am missing loads of whats going on in this thread, you are all such blethers i tell you lol.Sooo hard to keep up.Sorry to anyone i don't mention,it's not deliberate honest.

Pretty belated happy bithday, bet you had a ball with no lo's.

HC did you ever go to the doc about your lump? Hope it's ok now?

Jeanie i love Burger King but not allowed on my diet so i have to decline.I only have another 19lbs to go so better keep away from them lol.

Bloss i am getting root canal done on my back tooth next Wednesday and i am dreading it.In fact i may decide to have it pulled instead.Had it done a few years back by a butcher moonlighting as a dentist and i had flashbacks for months. My lovely new dentist is fab and i know she will do everything to keep me calm and ensure i am properly numb before she starts but honestly i could be sick thinking about it.Really hope i can get through it and not lose another tooth. You are not a wimp either!!!

KZ you are an angel Thank you so much for putting my pics up for me (((hugs))).I really appreciate it.No one would ever have seen them probably unless you had done it for me.Will need to figure out the profile thingy one day.

RE the smear tests, don't mind them.I had abnormal cells around 12/13 years ago so had a test done yearly for ages and got used to them.Hope you all get yours done as easily as poss soon. It's the embarrasment factor that i really hate.

Well dd1 is being a veritable angel atm so it's nice in our house. In fact all the dc are ok which is great.DS1 and his gf had their 1st "anniversary" last week. They are still really into each other and he wants to ask her to come on holiday aroad with us in October so have said i will think about it.He has exams soon and is worried he won't pass anything and will be a failure at life poor thing lol.

Eilidh is def the happiest of all my 4 dc and she smiles all day long.I think i am older calmer and more relaxed with her than the others tho.I also am so aware of each stage she goes through being the last baby i will have them with i treasure every bit(sob sob).

Ok i am off before i start to cry.Have a great weekend everyone xx

agalch · 21/04/2007 08:41

Just a thought, not once in that huge post did i mention ds2 He's such a quiet soul that you wouldn't know he was there half the time.He is up to high school after the summer hols and is doing transition days up there on fridays atm.Helps to prepare them i think.

Oh and 1 last thing then i'll leave you all in peace,Eilidh still has no teeth, anyone else's have none yet? Bet she's the last.I don't mind actually, not looking forward to the scraping of razor sharp new teeth whilst i bf,ouch lol.

Ceebee74 · 21/04/2007 11:17

Will catch up and post later.

Jeanie - could you e-mail me the BK vouchers too - I LOVE BK burgers, so much nicer than MCD's (but don't let HC see this message as I am supposed to be dieting )

E-mail: binnscharlotte @ hotmail dot com

Ta v muchly x

Ceebee74 · 21/04/2007 12:48

Bloss ? sympathies about the dentist. I am not keen and I haven?t had any bad experiences ? just don?t like them. Haven?t been for well over 12 months now as keep putting it off. Same with the smear test aswell ? had 2 reminder letters now and keep putting that off Lovely photos aswell ? they are starting to look alike now aren?t they?

Pretty ? sounds like you had a fabulous day and hope you had a lovely long lie-in without the lo?s.

KZ ? lol at catching puke on your hand ? rather you than me

Twinkle ? how awful about your smear test ? it seems a shame that you pluck up the courage to go and then that happens. Hope things improve asap. Poor Aidan aswell ? take it from a mum of a seasoned puker, it is awful watching them so I hope he improves quickly.

Mae ? hope you had a night out and that your DS/DH was ok.

Beadmum ? I am doing the same with Josh and making lunchtime finger food time ? have just tried him with peanut butter today and no allergic reaction, thank god. I have been plucking up the courage to do it for weeks! Don?t think he particularly liked it mind!! Also as far as I know, eggs are fine at this age.

Agalch ? your family sounds divine and so happy ? you should look at them all with great pride

Josh seems to have a sore throat as he has developed a very husky voice ? quite cute really!! Even his crying is husky aswell ? bless.

Bad news ladies ? cricket season starts today so I am going to be DH-less every Saturday afternoon (and some Sundays) until middle of September ? great!!! It is bad enough he is away Monday to Friday at the moment but this is just rubbing salt into the wound ? I don?t mind that much and wouldn?t want him to stop playing but it is a bit annoying and poor Josh hardly sees his daddy at the moment.

Good night out last night - quite a lot of talking about babies (but it was NCT antenatal crowd so understandable). Didn't get in till after 11pm . DS did wake a few times early in the evening while I was out but DH was able to shush him down each time, then not a peep until after 4am, so managed sleep off a bit of wine before getting up to feed the boy. I need need need some new clothes tho - everything is really baggy on me now and/or worn out. Haven't bought much in the way of clothing for about 18 months (not counting my extremely dull maternity workwear [shudder]). My mum's coming down in a few weeks, so will prob go then.

HumphreysCorner · 21/04/2007 19:49

Evening ladies

Twinkle-I am so sorry to hear about your traumatic smear. Well done for actually going though. They have changed the way of doing them and it really hurt me this time-the poor nurse had several attempts while repeatedly asking me to relax. I agree with kayzed about the examination the night before Sophie was born-it was horrendous. Your experience takes me back to my very first test and I was a virgin at the time but thought you still had to go for smear tests. Of course she couldn't get the speculem (sp) in and I broke down in tears. Problem was my boyfriend at the time kept trying to shove 'it' in and things just weren't happening so he told me I was deformed. The nurses put me at ease and said he was the problem so I got rid of him. Hope your next visit to the Drs is much easier for you. Hugs to Aidan and you. ((xx))

Bloss-dentists huh. Mine injects you but doesn't send you into the waiting room so you find that you have the filling which hurts like hell and then as soon as you get home your lip and tongue is completely numb.

Ceebee-I am watching you. BK Burgers-tut, tut!

Maewest and kayzed-glad you enjoyed your night out.

agalch-you will be invisible if you lose too much more. Still have my lump but keep trying to pretend it isn't there in the hope that when I next look it might not be there. Will go to the Drs soon.

DH has announced that he wants to go to the BMF show (a bike thing) the day before the Christening. Have 25 people coming on the Sunday and have DD1 to take to dancing on the Sat morning then prepare loads of food and look after the girls-aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Am a tad miffed about that.

Finally got the grass cut yesterday-hurrah!

Love to all.

hi everyone - bloss just caught up and you do sound like you are an absolutely brilliant mum and you just had a blip in the playground!

whatever lists we have going, can we add jacob to the no teeth, no crawling and not much rolling onto his back ones ?

went to the paed on friday morning as jacob has had so many bugs etc and the little fatty has put on 380g in four days! I'm so proud of him, he's eating so well and really trying hard.

talking of birthdays, we are already thinking about jacob's first party - only because we are inviting a lot of friends with children who are likely to be on holiday around the time of the party! Anally retentively organised though...

talking of that, i have the meeting with my boss in a week or so's time - have to tell him i'm not going back. I reckon he must have realised but still not the best conversation i'm wanting to have. DH is really looking forward to it as Jacob is going to his work for an hour while i go into work

have a great rest of the weekend and hope everyone with puking babies that they get better soon - interestingly one of the things the paed said was that if they get a virus or infection they can often get secondary reflux as a sympton of the virus / infection.

prettymum · 21/04/2007 21:06

ceebee- my dps cricket season started last week!! and finishes around the same time as your dhs, hmm wonder if theyll play one another?? but he loves it so much and has been playing the last few years.

im sooo tired been at work today and on my feet most, one downside to boots is seeing all the little babies and pregnant women!! makes me feel so broody and i dont want no more children (i think)

im going to write more another time, think i'll get an early night(i'll try)

Wallace · 21/04/2007 21:47

Got back from holiday yesterday and checked mumsnet...didn't realise til tonight that there was a new thread! No way I can catch up... Hope everyone is fine

Dh has been away since the beginning of April and it has been school holidays so I haven't been on much. I thought we deserved a break so the kids and I went away from Monday to Friday (missing the first week back at school )

Had a brilliant time, we went to a holiday park up in Sutherland. It was so quiet, and it has the most beatiful beach. Check out some of my holiday snaps

I haven't put any of Leo there because he slept most of the time we were out (sea air!) so I only have a couple of him so wrapped up you can hardly see him. It was a bit cold and windy, but we had the most amazing time, spending hours everyday just messing about on the beach
